Feeling like your life is missing essential pieces? In this revealing conversation, psychotherapist Nomi Bachar introduces us to her revolutionary Gates of Power system at White Cedar Institute—a comprehensive approach to healing and self-actualization she's refined over 35 years of practice.

Nomi presents a refreshingly holistic perspective, comparing our lives to a pizza with seven essential slices: body, emotions, dialogue, creative expression, life path, silence, and knowledge. Each slice represents a gate—a portal connecting our inner being to the external world. When these gates are all functioning properly, we experience wholeness and vitality. But when slices are missing or damaged, our lives feel incomplete.

What truly sets Nomi's approach apart is her understanding of our internal dynamics. She identifies three distinct aspects within each person: the emotional self, the defensive/survival self, and the expanded self (what she calls the "God wisdom inside you"). Most people operate from either emotional or survival instincts, but Nomi teaches clients to access and lead from their expanded self—the only aspect truly capable of wisdom and higher vision. This creates harmony in your "inner family" and transforms how you navigate the world.

Unlike quick-fix approaches, Nomi is refreshingly honest about the commitment required. "I'm loving and compassionate, but there's no hiding behind the bush here," she explains. This authenticity has attracted clients who are serious about transformation, not just seeking temporary relief. Ready to become your own healer, coach, and inner parent? Visit gatesofpower.com or find Nomi's book "Gates of Power: Actualize Your True Self" on Amazon to begin your journey toward becoming everything you can be.

Here's your host, GarfieldBowen.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Welcome to Podcast Live.
Are you looking for somehealing or actualizing your
potential?
Well, we got a treat for youToday.
I'm here to introduce your goodneighbor, Nomi Bahar, with
White Cedar Institute.
Nomi, how are you doing today?

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I'm doing pretty great.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
We're excited to learn all about you and your
organization.
Tell us about White CedarInstitute.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
White Cedar Institute is a home of an amazing system,
healing and self-actualizationsystem that I have created to
help people who are seriousabout their life and want to

(01:18):
become everything that they canbecome.
The Institute is the home ofGates of Power, which is the
name of the program and themethod that we're offering and,
if I may say a few words aboutthis, I think fabulous process

(01:42):
that we are offering.
We are teaching people how tobecome their own healer, their
own coach, their own innerparent and to be the leader of
their life, and I'll explain ina minute how we do that.

(02:03):
But we also teach people thatthere are seven areas of life
that we call gates, meaning theyare portals, portals, avenues
from your inner being leading tolife and life leading to your

(02:27):
inner being.
So those portals, gates are thegate of the body.
Then we have the gate ofemotions your emotions are being

(02:49):
either flowing or not flowingin and out of you and so on, and
you want a good flow.
Then we have the gate ofdialogue, which is relationships
with self, with others and withthe creator.
Then you have the gate ofcreative expression, which is

(03:14):
how much fun and creativity andjoy and silliness and so on you
can put in your life Veryimportant.
Then you have the gate of lifepath, which means what is your
purpose, what are your lessons, you know where are you going,

(03:37):
what is your contribution inthis life, and so on.
That's the gate of life path.
Then you have the gate ofsilence, which is prayer,
meditation and spiritualunderstanding, and then there is
the gate of knowledge.
So you can think about it as apizza pie with seven slices.

(04:02):
All these slices have to bewholesome and good for you to
have a wholesome and a strong,vibrant life.
You don't want a pizza pie thathalf of a slice is missing,
then a quarter of another sliceis missing and maybe one slice

(04:26):
is totally missing.
You don't want that.
So we are taking care of allthese areas to strengthen them,
to heal them and to have them beabsolutely supportive to your
soul's journey.

(04:46):
Now, when I say you become theleader of your life, I say that
because inside of you there arereally three people, so to speak
.
Without you not beingschizophrenic or anything,
everybody has that.

(05:07):
One is your emotional part, your emotional self.
The other one is your defensiveself, your survival self, and
the third one is your expandedself, which is God wisdom inside

(05:27):
of you, and I teach people howto use that self, your expanded
self, to heal, coach and parentthe two other selves.
So now you have a nice innerfamily and you have a good

(05:50):
leader to the family, to thisinner family.
I mean you don't want yoursurvival self to be the leader,
you don't want your emotionalself to be the leader.
You don't want your emotionalself to be the leader, you want
your expanded self to be theleader.
And most people are not leadingtheir life from their expanded

(06:14):
self either, from their survivalself, and then they're all
tensed and worried and whatever, not in a good place.
Some of them lead their lifefrom their emotional self, also
not a good idea.
These two are not leadershipmaterial leadership material.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Only your expanded self has the wisdom and the
higher vision for you.
I know you talked about theself-coach self-coaching, yes
and who would you say is yourtarget clients and how are you
currently attracting them?

Speaker 3 (07:04):
My target clients are really serious people about
being everything that they canbe, and that's not.
It's not most people, you know.
Most people are just kind ofliving you, living whatever,
trying to survive, live, thinkthat they have fun, or whatever.

(07:27):
My clients are amazing.
They are people that areabsolutely dedicated to becoming
the best that they can be.
And how am I attracting them?
They come to me.
I'm not doing a lot ofmarketing.

(07:47):
I'm not doing a lot of, but Ihave been practicing for 35
years.
I'm a trained psychotherapistin four different modalities
that are, you know, not reallyyou know.
They just went into the blenderwith all my other knowledge and

(08:08):
helped me create the Gates ofPower system.
But for 35 years I never had to.
I was never without clients.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's basically word of mouth for the most part.
Yes, yes, yes and to be honest.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
when somebody comes, I say, look, you're going to
have to do rigorous work and Iam kind of a tough coach.
I'm loving and compassionate, but there's no hiding behind the
bush here, and they stay andthey get working, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yes, I do, I have it.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
You have your own podcast.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Okay, excellent.
Now, when you're not busyrunning your business, naomi,
what do you like to do for fun?
Running your business now, whatdo you?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
like to do for fun.
You know, as you get older, funcan be very simple things.
When I was young, fun was Ialso was a performer,
choreographer, director.
I had my own dance company, theater dance company in New
York City.

(09:28):
I would go to the shows, Iwould go to see dance, I would
be prancing all over town.
Now I don't need to do thatreally.
I can take a walk and look atthe trees and be absolutely
fulfilled.
You know so.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I see it's nature, nature.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
It's here and there, listening and reading.
I always read all the spiritualbooks that almost exist and
I've done many, many workshopsand courses and classes of other
masters.
But now it's the quiet moments, you know being with the kids,

(10:18):
the grandkids, being withfriends and laughing.
You know doing somethingcreative, traveling and
meditating.
I've been a meditator for like40 years of my life, so you know
I've come to be in the here andnow, really, really, really.

(10:39):
So the here and now is veryfulfilling.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
It sounds like you have a wealth of knowledge to
share and we're running out oftime, but I want to narrow it
down to one thing.
If it's just one thing thateveryone should remember about
White Cedar Institute, whatwould that one thing be?

Speaker 3 (10:59):
You have the opportunity and the possibility
to get tools and coaching andcourses and classes to become
the best of you, and if youchoose to do it and you want to
do it in a very practical, spiritual, complete way, come to

(11:23):
us.
That's all I can say.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
My listeners now have one word on their lips right
now is how?
How did they get moreinformation on White Cedar
Institute?

Speaker 3 (11:36):

The YouTube is there all thepodcasts are there, all the
blogs are there and theexplanation about the system is

(11:57):

I have a couple of books, butone of the books is Gates of
Power Actualize your True Self, and it's unaudible.
If you don't want to read, sograb the book and start

(12:23):
listening to it, so at leastyou'll get a sense of the depth
and the width of this beautifulsystem.
