What makes Cacie Wrye with Wrye Wellness a good neighbor?

Forget the cold, clinical vibe- this conversation is all about care that feels human. We sit down with Dr. Cacie Wrye of Wrye Wellness to explore how a consent-first, trauma-informed approach can make chiropractic accessible, warm, and effective for people who’ve felt unseen or unsafe in traditional settings. From bright colors and plants to clear language and choices at every step, Dr. Cacie shows how environment and process shape outcomes as much as techniques do.

We get candid about the big myth that keeps people away: Do you really have to go forever? Dr. Cacie breaks down the difference between short-term relief and long-term stability, why both are valid, and how co-created plans keep you in the driver’s seat. We also unpack why Wrye Wellness moved beyond insurance and toward transparent packages- so care can follow needs, not billing codes. Expect honest talk about affordability, clear expectations, and what true patient-centered care looks like when consent is continuous, not a checkbox.

This story also highlights intentional inclusion. LGBTQ+ clients and trauma survivors often face dismissal or discomfort in healthcare; Wrye Wellness responds with tailored communication, careful positioning, and constant check-ins that honor boundaries. Along the way, we hear about golf’s humbling lessons, the joy of an aging rescue pup, and the everyday empathy that shapes a clinician who listens first and treats second. If you’ve been curious about chiropractic but wary of the vibes, this is your sign to rethink what care can feel like. Tap play, share with a friend who needs a gentler path to relief, and subscribe to stay close to conversations that put people before paperwork.

SPEAKER_02 (00:00):
This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, Lila Carter.

SPEAKER_01 (00:14):
Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of achiropractic office?
One might be closer than youthink.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
Dr.
Casey Rye, with Rye Wellness.
Dr.
Casey, how's it going?

SPEAKER_00 (00:31):
Very good.
Thanks.
How are you today?

SPEAKER_01 (00:33):
Very well.
Thanks so much for asking.
We're excited to learn all aboutyou and your company.
So please tell us more aboutyour business.

SPEAKER_00 (00:42):
So I created Rye Wellness because I felt like
chiropractic can be very scaryfor a lot of people and the
offices can feel very sterileand unwelcoming.
So I wanted to create a spacethat everybody felt welcome and
safe.
I know that people watch TikTokvideos and it can be very
intimidating for them.

(01:03):
So I wanted to create somewherethat felt just not sterile.
I have plants everywhere.
I try to choose bright colors.
I really focus on making surethat everybody feels included,
regardless of race, color, gender, and um I also don't do

(01:23):
insurance because I feel like Ican't treat the person the best
way.
And it can be very expensivewith insurance sometimes.
So I created packages to makesure that it can be affordable
for everybody.

SPEAKER_01 (01:36):
Very good.
And how did you get into thisbusiness initially?

SPEAKER_00 (01:41):
I initially wanted to be a doctor, and then I found
that a lot of it was based onpharmaceuticals, and I wanted to
heal the whole body.
And when I job shadowed one, itseemed like you were the doctor
was in and out.
The nurse did most of thetalking, and I really wanted to
be more engaged with patients.
And so then I found chiropracticand it was perfect because you

(02:04):
know the doctor and the patientare the ones having the
one-on-one conversations.

SPEAKER_01 (02:10):
Absolutely.
Yeah, working closely with yourclients and really addressing
them holistically is certainly, yeah, that would be right up
your alley with the chiropracticcare.
Excellent.
What are some myths or maybemisconceptions in your industry
that you'd like to talk abouttoday?

SPEAKER_00 (02:27):
A lot of people think that once you go to the
chiropractic once, you have togo forever.
And it's a choice.
It's like working out or goingto the dentist.
If you want to continue on, it'sgreat.
It helps you move better, feelbetter, prevent bigger problems
from happening.
Or if you just want to come in,get fixed for the couple visits

(02:47):
and go on your way, that's alsoperfectly fine.
Whatever works for you, we willmake work for you.

SPEAKER_01 (02:53):
Yeah, it can only help.
It can't really hurt unlesssomeone's doing something wrong.

SPEAKER_00 (02:58):
I always have those conversations with people.
You know, I ask if they want tojust treat the problem or if
they want it more long-termstabilizing.

SPEAKER_01 (03:08):
Yeah, excellent.
And so as we're thinking ofmarketing as the heart of any
business, who are your targetcustomers and how are you
currently attracting them to RyeWellness?

SPEAKER_00 (03:22):
I feel like the majority of my clients have been
LBGQ just because I feel likethey fall through the holes or
they don't get taken seriously.
So I try to just be a safe havenfor them where we can have
discussions, we can tailor theservice to them.
A lot of people with traumas, you know, doctors don't want to

(03:44):
take those extra steps to makethem feel comfortable.
So I want to be a space where wetake the time and we make sure
that everything is comfortablewith you and you feel good.

SPEAKER_01 (03:56):
That's very sweet.
And have you ever possiblythought about maybe doing your
own podcast to reach youraudience?

SPEAKER_00 (04:04):
I thought about it.
I have a terrible fear of publicspeaking.
I've been stressed about thisall week.
So um I do it is something Iwould look into, but I would
definitely have to do some workto overcome some fears.

SPEAKER_01 (04:21):
Gotcha.
Well, you're doing great.

SPEAKER_00 (04:22):
So thank you.

SPEAKER_01 (04:24):
Yeah, outside of work, what do you do for fun?

SPEAKER_00 (04:27):
I actually just got into golf.
Um, I started it with myboyfriend about a year ago, and
I have loved it so much becauseyou get to be outside, the
courses are gorgeous, and alsoit's such a challenge.
Like that sport makes me soangry.
Like one day I can hit the ballperfect, and the next it's just
like I've never played a day inmy life.

(04:48):
Honestly, my favorite thing isum cuddling my pup.
Well, he's 11, but um, he's arescue pit bull, and he's just
my soulmate.
I love him so much.

SPEAKER_01 (04:59):
Oh, very sweet.
I have an eight-year-oldPomeranian.

SPEAKER_00 (05:03):
Oh the older age is such a sweet age.
Like, I hate seeing them age,but man, it's so sweet and
special.

SPEAKER_01 (05:12):
Yeah, he still acts like a puppy, but now he has a
little crooked smile from somegentle work and it makes him
even cuter.

SPEAKER_00 (05:19):
Yeah, Drogo acts like a puppy, but uh his little
bow legs are a little rough, soI have to carry him down the
steps sometimes.

SPEAKER_01 (05:26):
Aw very sweet.
I love that.
So, Dr.
Casey, please tell our listenersone thing that they should
remember or should stick withthem about rye wellness.

SPEAKER_00 (05:39):
Um it doesn't matter really what I think is um the
best.
I always go for I talk to thepatient, and I want them to know
that no matter what, I'm notgonna do something if they're
not comfortable with it.
And I always try to talk througheverything, make sure that, you

(06:00):
know, if sometimes gone through, are you still wanting to
continue care?
Do you want to start wrapping itup?
I just want them to know they'renever locked in, they're never
gonna be pushed to do somethingor have something done to them
that they don't want done.

SPEAKER_01 (06:13):
Yeah, I know that's very important whenever you're
dealing with victims of trauma.
Yes, that level of consent andyou know, constantly checking
in, I'm sure, is very muchappreciated by your audience.
So thank you for what you do andyour sensitivity towards that.

SPEAKER_00 (06:30):
Thank you.

SPEAKER_01 (06:32):
Yeah.

Stuff You Should Know
Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
