Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Good
Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, mike Murphy.
Thanks, charlie.
Yes, I am Mike Murphy, host ofthe Good Neighbor Podcast.
I have a great neighbor with me, philip Lamar, owner of Live
(00:21):
Well Lounge.
He and I have spoken before, sosince we last spoke, I had
promised him that we would gettogether for an update.
So fast forward, here we arewith an update on Live Well
Lounge.
There've been big changes forPhil and Live Well Lounge, so I
just wanted to bring him in andjust have him let the community
know what's going on, what'shappened since we last spoke.
(00:44):
Where are you now and where areyou headed?
So, phil, take it away, man.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Well, it's good
seeing you, Mike.
Thanks for having me on today.
Always a pleasure hanging outwith you and your amazing team,
but quite a bit has changedsince you and I spoke last.
Long story short.
We were heading in a specificdirection.
As a company, we were going tostart off with a brick and
mortar retail space.
We had plans to open up amobile side of our business
(01:13):
after that, but before we opened, we had a very unique business
opportunity present itself to us.
So I had to make a reallydifficult decision.
I had to make a decision.
What was best for the companyto either pursue our retail shop
that we were going to open upin which is what we partnered
(01:33):
with you on and publicized or dowe want to pivot and start
mobile and wait for this newopportunity that came at us?
And so what was best for thecompany was to close out that
chapter of going to that retailshop and starting off mobile.
And so we did that.
We started off, we bought an SUV, we wrapped it in our colors
(01:53):
and we started doing mobile IVhydration.
We were driving to people'shomes.
They were getting IV hydrationin the comfort of their recliner
, their couch, while they'rewatching TV, watching the game,
whatever it may be.
We were doing corporate events, office visits while people were
having business meetings, working on their wellness.
At the same time, we were goingto hotels for wedding parties,
(02:16):
and so it was wonderful, it wasworking great, and while we did
that, behind the scenes, I wasworking on this new opportunity
for a retail shop, and that'skind of what we're here to talk
about today is, instead ofopening up in Union, we did open
up our first retail shop inCrescent Springs, and so it's
(02:36):
right off the Buttermilk exit.
It's in the same plaza as somerestaurants you might be
familiar with, like La Tortolocaplaza, as some restaurants you
might be familiar with, like LaTortoloca Bonefish.
So we're right in that plazaand we have a great lounge where
our clients can come.
They can enjoy sit back, relax, get aromatherapy, enjoy a cold
(02:58):
infused towel while getting anIV, or they want to simply come
and kick back and relax at ourlounge.
Both options are now available.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Okay, good, so you've
got the brick and mortar and I
think you know you mentionedlike near bonefish.
Pretty much all of us kind ofknow where that is, but if we
want to get address specific, Ibelieve it's 578 Buttermilk Pike
.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
You got it, yes, sir,
so when you pull, into that
plaza, buttermilk Pike, you gotit, yes, sir.
So when you pull into thatplaza, a dear friend of mine, a
longtime friend, owns theMerrill Norman franchise and the
sublease space within theirstore, so we have our logo on
the window.
If you pull in that plaza, you'll see the Merrill Norman
sign, you'll see the Live WellLounge sign and we're in.
We're right in that building.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
OK, so Live Well at
your brick and mortar.
Now that is up and running, correct?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
yeah, we had a our
grand opening last, uh, last
week, and it was phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
We were booked out
the whole week okay, well, good
for you and um, now I just wantto be sure about the mobile
service that's been rocking androlling.
Um, now, are you scaling backon that, or are you going to
offer it just as heavily as youhad been?
Or is it as needed?
What's that look like?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, great question.
So we have not scaled back onit.
It's right now.
It's about 50, 50, 50 percentof our clients prefer that
convenience to have IV therapybrought to them, and so that's
still in full swing.
No scaling back there.
And then about prefer to comeinto our lounge, which is also
completely, completely greatwith us, and so it's about split
(04:32):
.
Even we did a wedding recentlyin downtown Cincinnati, so
things like that obviouslyrequire us to deliver, and so so
, yeah, no, not scaling back onthe mobile side.
That's still doing.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah, cause when you
offer some concierge service
like that, I can imagine peoplekind of think it's cool, they
get used to it, they tell theirfriends about it.
So once you start offering that, it's tough to pull back on
that.
Right, I would see that that'sa very valuable service that you
offer.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
So yeah, yeah, people
seem to really like it a lot.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Okay, so is there
anything new on the horizon?
Anything else you got going on?
Or you know you mentioned thegrand opening that was last
weekend.
Are there?
I don't know.
Do you have any sort ofcommunity events that you're
going to be appearing at, or doyou have any other partners in
(05:23):
the community that has kind ofhelped you with your growth
model?
Who in the community has kindof been a partner with you?
I think I saw you out one dayat the fitness facility out
there in Union.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yeah, we've been very
blessed with some wonderful
partners.
So we have a couple OrangeTheory gyms we work with.
We've partnered with Burn BootCamp.
We have quite a few differentholistic practitioners that are
practicing chiropractic care,physical therapy, different
(06:00):
types of natural holisticmedicine, and so we have several
doctors, nurse practitionersthat we partner with.
So we've had the opportunity tocollaborate with some wonderful
providers, gyms, otherlike-minded companies that are
all about health and wellness, and so that's been great to
partner with and collab withsome of these folks.
(06:22):
On top of what's new, what elseis coming?
Obviously, we just launched ourretail store, but we do have a
couple new services that will beavailable within the next
couple of weeks.
One of those I'm very excitedabout, and that's our
micronutrient panel.
Okay, so statistics show, manypeer reviewed studies, show the
scientific data, but about 93%of individuals have some sort of
(06:48):
micronutrient deficiency.
So, whether that's vitamin D,whether it's a trace mineral
like magnesium or zinc orglutathione, maybe it's B
complex, b9.
A lot of people have a B9deficiency.
Maybe it's vitamin C.
Whatever it may be, about 93%of people have at least one
(07:10):
deficiency.
And how our bodies are designedis we have to have
micronutrients right.
Your body.
It's like uh, withoutmicronutrients or macronutrients
um proteins, carbs, fats etcetera.
It's like a car with no gasoline, it's just not going to move,
it's not going to work properly.
You can push the car, you'renot going to get very far.
(07:32):
Your body has to have nutrientsto function properly, and so,
with 93% of people having adeficiency, the goal, the
passion, the mission with ournew service is this panel
identifies all micronutrients,so A, all of B, complex, c, d, e
(07:55):
and K, all 13 essentialminerals, trace minerals,
antioxidants, the whole nineyards.
Our panel will actually showall of the numbers and the data
of what an individual may bedeficient in.
Once our team can identify that, it takes about three days
turnaround to get the report andonce all of the numbers and the
data of what an individual maybe deficient in, wow.
Once our team can identify that.
It takes about three daysturnaround to get the report and
once we identify where there'sa deficiency, it helps us
(08:19):
customize a wellness plan forthat individual.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
All right, oh, that's
a new service.
Yeah, is that a blood test or aurine test?
What's that look like?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Blood test.
Okay All right.
Blood test.
Okay, blood test, so yeah.
So it's something thatobviously it makes sense in the
nature of our business doingvitamin and mineral IV infusions
and intramuscular injections.
Obviously, you can never gowrong with your water-soluble
vitamins like B and C.
Those are constantly beingflushed out of your system, so
(08:51):
you can constantly be gettingthat in an IV.
But what's even better isidentifying where someone needs
supplementation when you canfind where someone needs
supplementation, you can targetthat area, not supplement for
the sake of supplementation, butto supplement for the sake of
where there's a deficiency.
So we're very excited to bringthat to the market for our
(09:12):
customers, for new clients.
We think it's going to make abig difference.
And so that's a new servicethat we have coming in the
horizon Should be available inabout two weeks.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Okay, man, oh man,
there have been some changes.
I'm glad we caught up with youbecause you are a busy man and
you're out there doing good workin the community.
I'm happy to see all thechanges, I'm happy to see you
grow and I'm looking forward toeventually being one of your
clients myself.
(09:42):
I want to test this out.
Maybe just a good old fashionedMyers cocktail, I think that's
what it's called.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Classic.
I've kind of been curious about.
You know these micronutrientpanels myself.
There's been a lot of talk ofmagnesium in the news I've seen
and the benefits of that forsleep and, you know, to fight
headaches.
I think is what I've read.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
So magnesium is.
Of course, there's going to bea lot of different opinions from
discussions with ourpharmacists that oversees our
practice from our internalmedicine physician.
That oversees our practice froma lot of authorities especially
.
Magnesium is arguably one ofthe most important minerals in
your entire body because there'sso many different functions
that it serves.
So, yeah, it is extremelyimportant.
A lot of people have amagnesium deficiency too.
So far from test panels we'vedone obviously we'll open up to
(10:50):
the public, but we've done manyinternal micronutrient panels
for our team just to bulletproofour system and what we're
finding most commonly, vitamin Dand magnesium are seeming to be
two very common deficiencies.
Both are very important to thehuman body.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Well, it's nice that
you are taking the guesswork out
of it and you're able to runthis panel three day turnaround.
Somebody can see in black andwhite where they're deficient
and then you can address it forthem very easily.
So, all right, I think thatthat's.
That's a lot of change.
We'll leave it there as as aswe move forward through time and
(11:35):
your story continues toprogress, we'll keep checking in
with you and in the meantime, you know I'm going to stop out
at the new brick and mortarthere on Buttermilk Pike in
Crescent Springs and see whatyou got going on.
Maybe I'll do a little remotefrom just my cell phone.
(11:55):
We'll do a Facebook Live orsomething, but I'm curious to
share your story with everybody, and this has been a big part of
it, this update.
So thanks for spending timewith us.
Of course I'll let you go now.

multiple phone calls.

(12:20):
to make that happen as soon aspossible.
