Doing more things with a vestibular disorder is possible—but you absolutely need to rest. This means giving your body time to rest and different types of rest in order to achieve that. Rest is an essential part of being a human being. Yet we live in a society where people don’t rest until they feel like they’ve “done enough.” When we should be resting before we feel the fatigue set in, we’re busy pushing through, ignoring how we truly feel, and worrying about a plan for a future crisis. (I have the best analogy for you in this episode, too!) It’s more helpful to actually take time to rest rather than continue trying to figure out what to do next because that is part of what will keep you stuck. And we do NOT want that! In this episode, we’ll dig into: What we’ve been taught about rest How a lack of rest impacts vestibular disorders How to know when you need rest The 7 different types of rest Examples of these types of rest in practice Why active and passive rest are both important Taking time to rest and recharge throughout the day will make it so your body doesn’t require you to rest later. Take breaks before you need them. If you enjoy episodes like this, these are the types of conversations we’re having all the time in Vestibular Group Fit. We’d love to have you join us! Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
