What to Plant in March (Cold, Mild, and Warm Climates)

March marks the beginning of the gardening season for many of us. Even so, planting in March can be tricky as the weather transitions from winter to spring. Here are my top 5 recommendations for what to plant in each climate—cold, mild, and warm. Get ready for an overflowing spring garden and lots of harvests coming very soon!

 

NOTE: You’re in a cold climate if your last frost date is at least 60 days away (ex. Chicago), a mild climate if your last frost date is later this month or in April (ex. Nashville), and a warm climate if you’ve already passed or are very close to your last frost date (ex. Houston).
