(00:02):
What if there were a way tobring more joy, abundance, prosperity,
peace and harmony into your life?
But there is.
Today I am talking with a fengshui expert, manifesting magnet,
alchemist, healer, real lifeIrish Celtic shaman, and the quote,
(00:23):
Mary Poppins of prosperitypotential, Patricia Lohan.
Not only is she armed withincredible feng shui tips to bring
more of what you want intoyour life, she's got some big, and
I mean big news for grown ass women.
I'm Jackie McDougal and thisis the Grown Ass Woman's Guide.
Patricia is the creator ofPowerhouse Feng Shui and author of
(00:47):
the Happy Home, a guide tocreating a happy, healthy, wealthy
life and become a business powerhouse.
Using Feng shui, she helpspeople all over the world make their
homes and businesses magneticto money, luck and blessings.
If you're a longtime listener, you might remember Patricia from
three years ago, episode 81 tobe exact.
(01:08):
I'll link to that in the description.
But she taught us the basicsof feng shui and it was extremely
powerful for myself and my listeners.
This time we dive deeper intothe two areas the Grown Ass Woman's
Guide community has beenasking for.
Plus, Patricia brought in sometimely and super exciting news about
what's in store for grown asswomen in 2024.
(01:32):
This is a really nice timingbecause we are moving into a very
different cycle in feng shui cycle.
And for grown ass women, thisis literally, this is our time.
We're moving into a whole newera feng shui perspective, which
is really exciting.
So like, yeah, I'm lookingforward to kind of talking about
this.
You're the first person I'vekind of really started to.
(01:53):
Then I was like, O my God,this is the perfect, perfect time.
Excellent.
So we're just going to dive in.
You've piqued my curiosity.
You've got me a little tingly.
Like, why?
Tell me what's going on?
So in feng shui, basicallythere's like big cycles and smaller
cycles.
So every year there's like anannual cycle.
So you know, we have like theYear of the Rabbit or the Year of
(02:13):
the Dragon and every year hasa nuance to it.
So this year we're Currentlyin, in 2023 is the year of the Rabbit.
There's the fertility and it'slike, whereas next year we're moving
into the Year of the Dragon, which is obviously fiercer, it's
going to be bigger, it'sfiery, which is amazing.
And that's like the nuance ofthe year.
There's also 20 year cyclesand these 20 year cycles really hone
(02:38):
in on a specific person.
Like it kind of links in withthe trigram which is linked back
to the I Ching, which is likevery Feng Shui and like Chinese philosophy,
which is fabulous.
But for us like in lay termsthe last 20 years it's actually been
the era of the younger man.
(02:59):
Oh, I had a more noticedPatricia, you know, so.
But we are coming into the ageof the and I know it's like the middle
aged woman, it's like our time.
So we're going to see, I thinkpart of this is the focus will be
more women in power.
And we're seeing it already.
(03:19):
We're seeing women coming, raising up and taking action and
the idea of patriarchalsociety changing.
And it's fun how even likeFeng shui matches and mirrors what's
happening.
But there's a lot ofconfirmation in terms of that this
cycle that we're moving intois the era of that middle aged woman.
And she will be the kind ofdominating force of the, the next
(03:43):
20 year cycle that, that we'reentering in in February.
So it's quite an exciting erafor us from a Feng Shui perspective
on a kind of more macro energy.
So that's what we're moving into.
It's typically like the, thecycle moves over 120 years.
So every energy gets a timeduring the 120 years.
(04:04):
So we have had an era of theyounger woman, we'll have had the
era of the older man, the kindof like crone down to the maiden
to the father figure thatthose different roles and one of
them has a more dominant energy.
And as we move into the cycleto February 2024, we're in kind of
like basically the grown asswoman's era.
(04:25):
It's our time which is fun and.
It'S a time it's made me so happy.
I'm so glad I really comebearing good news for us all.
That's amazing because we'regoing to get into the home and all
the things that we can do.
But I love starting with thisenergy shift right with what's going
on in the world and whatshould we be doing to show up as
(04:47):
grown ass women to kind ofalign ourselves with this energy.
So do you have any advice there?
Yeah, 100%.
And I like sinking in likelots of different cultural philosophies
as well because and I likedhow also feng shui, the sub feng
shui cycle really sits in withthe Celtic cycle.
So I am, I'm Irish and I amcurrently for Some reason I get back
(05:11):
to Ireland and it's middle of Samhain.
It is winter time, it ishibernation, it is into the darkness,
shortest days of the year andyou know, the trees are bare and
it's time to kind of just likenestle in and reflect.
It's time to think like thisis the time to like nest a little
bit, to also kind of clearaway, like to shed the leaves of
(05:32):
the past.
So you know, if we're thinkingwe're at the end now of a 20 year
cycle, you could kind of maybedo rather than just even doing an
annual reflection.
It's like, well what am Iletting go of in the last 20 years?
Like if I'm going into thisnew era, like what am I bringing
with me and what am I lettinggo of?
And what I do I want to plantthe seeds of in this kind of.
So in time, this time ofdarkness, it's time for going in
(05:55):
and recognizing what needs tobe like shed.
And what am I planting theseeds of?
Like how do I want to show off?
What are the traits I don'twant to show up with that I want
to accelerate and envision forthis 20 year cycle.
Like as a grown ass woman, whois she and how does she look?
Because there's some partsthat we can just like let go of.
(06:16):
And what's so fun is alsowe're moving into the first kind
of stage.
Like the first year of it isthe year of the dragon.
And you know the dragon, thesymbolism is like associated with
the scenics rising.
So it's just like, it's thatkind of like what needs to die to
be reborn and what do you needto let go of.
(06:37):
Whether it's a mindset, thoughts, beliefs, stuff, you know
from me from a feng shuiperspective, I'm like what stuff?
Like what's in your house, hanging around that just needs to
be like relinquished becausethis is a time to kind of make space
for it.
What's really fun when we kindof look at all these cosmic cycles
is the Chinese New Year startsin February and it always starts
(07:01):
on the new moon in February, which is moving into springtime.
Like it's moving into thattime of like fresh buds moving in.
It's that kind of birthing andnew little things unfolding.
But they got planted now, youknow, Right.
That's what I would be reallyencouraging people.
Like the soil had to becleared, everything had to be sorted,
(07:23):
you had, they had to be tendedto and looked after.
So this is like thatPreparation time and really moving
with the seasons.
And if we even think about it,type on that longer 20 year cycle,
that even next year, this isstill the very beginning of seeding
that new, this new birthing.
Like we're moving into an eraof it with 20 years of this cycle.
(07:43):
So it may not feel like, oh,I'm here now.
You know, it's.
It'll have been building upthe same as the masculine will have
been depleting.
Okay.
So I think it's reallyimportant to say, to make sure that
if someone's listening rightnow, that she gets.
Yes.
February, however, now, now, because now is the planting, now
(08:04):
is the clearing.
Now is you don't go out toyour yard in spring and just expect
all the flowers to show up ifyou didn't actually plant them in
advance.
Exactly.
Okay.
Exactly.
I love that.
We're not waiting, ladies.
We're not waiting.
No, no, no, no, no.
And we can look at the seasonsand really learn from them as well.
(08:25):
Because feng shui is all aboutnature and working with the elements
and really moving with thatflow of energy.
So watching what's happeningin nature and being like, how can
I be more in tune with it?
How can I?
You know, kennel and my hu andI, we've just started.
We're trying to readjust tolife here because we've just been
living in Greece for thesummers and like long, hot, bright,
(08:49):
sunny days.
It's just like bright, bright,bright 2.
Like the complete opposite here.
And I was like, we need toreadjust to this because we black
out blinds where we'resleeping so much.
It's like, let's just leavethe blinds open.
So we're just, we're sleepingwith nature.
We're like, it's getting dark,we're going to hunker down, but we're
going to wake up as it startsto wake up.
And that feels like anamazing, even alarm clock.
(09:12):
You know, it's just nature.
I think really payingattention to nature and living accordingly
is powerful, especially as.
We are moving into this time, which is traditionally a very busy
season.
You know, it's like, it's Christmas.
So we've all the lists.
And today I literally did asession with my community where I
(09:33):
got them to like, writeeverything down on their list and
then relax and what do theywant to feel and just like relief
and then hand it over.
Like, just hand it all over toGod's spirit universe and sit back
and relax and take a break andthen think about, what help can I
get?
What really needs to be doneand do I actually really need to
(09:54):
do that?
And will the world collapse ifit doesn't or if it doesn't, like
take it up because this is atime to rest a little bit.
Like, you know, we can'tcreate when we're busy.
Mm, that's so true.
And I feel like many of usgrew up in generation X and busy
as a badge of honor, it's acompetition of busy.
(10:17):
And I think that's the beautyis that a grown ass woman starts
to go, hold on, I don't needto do that.
I can buy that thing at thestore instead of make it and spend
12 hours or I don't have toinvite those particular people to
this event when I don't feel good.
And we start to shed likeyou're saying the things in our lives
(10:38):
that are not serving us anymore.
And so it's not just stuff,it's like that mental stuff.
Right.
And that, yeah, energeticstuff that's just weighing us down.
Yeah, literally.
I just had a, like a snippetof a conversation about my sister
who was a very like, she's avery steady creator, you know, and
she has an amazing businessthat is just like gets amazing.
(11:01):
It's a gorgeous cafe in Bordeaux.
It's fabulous.
And you know, she's beenrenovating things and she's opening
a new cafe.
Like this is the things she'saccomplished is amazing, but not
fast, you know, very differentto how my mother and my parents would
have ran their business waseverything is this frantic rush and
(11:21):
I'm like, but look what she's created.
Like, it's fantastic and it'ssteady, it's solid and it's just,
it's been amazing.
And I just said, you knowwhat, I like the way that she's done
it.
You know, it's kind of like,oh, look, she did it.
Eventually I was like, no, no, no.
But what she did and whatshe's created is phenomenal and it
(11:41):
is so considered.
Every nuance part wasconsidered and steady and now the
next thing is considered andsteady and it'll just, it's just
all growing and moving becauseshe took her time.
Yeah, I love that because wetalked a little bit about having
online businesses before westarted recording and we see that
(12:01):
like growth, massive growth,10x, you know, all the stuff out
there and if you look aroundand when you and I first talked,
it was literally three yearsago this month.
The first time that we talked,we were living in that space of like
10x and boom.
Boom, boom, hustle, hustle, hustle.
You know, And I think thatenergetically, at least for the grown
(12:23):
ass women that I see, they'reeither not doing that business anymore
or they just got burnt out,you know, and they've learned how
to step back and do exactlywhat you're talking about with your
sister and like, do the thingsthat feel aligned with you, do the
things that feel good for you.
Because not everything has tobe huge and fast and now you know.
(12:44):
Exactly.
And you want to like feel gooddoing the thing you're doing, you
know, like one of therevelations that the women in my
community had today, becauseit was like a rest and reset kind
of session, she said one ofthe biggest ahas was now I realize
that my Christmas cards arejust a heartfelt message from me
(13:05):
and there's something I get to do.
I'm going to enjoy writingthem and I'm going to send them with
love.
And I'm like, the people whoget that card are going to feel that
love.
It's not like, oh my God, Ihave to send all these Christmas
cards.
Like, send them.
If you feel like that'ssomething that feels like a beautiful
thing for you to do, set thetime aside, that nice cup of tea,
think about these lovelypeople that you're writing the note
(13:26):
to.
If it doesn't feel like animportant thing, it's okay, just
let it go, you know.
But it was that reframing oflike, I have to do the Christmas
cards as opposed to, like, Iget to write these heartfelt messages.
Yes, yes.
How much of Feng shui isreally just creating an energy in
our lives that make us feelexcited to live A lot.
(13:51):
Like for me, when it comes tofeng shui is about the fundamentals.
Your house has an energy blueprint.
It's either supporting you orit's not supporting you.
It's when you balance it andbring it into harmony and balance
it will bring more flow andmore ease.
But it's also what happens tothe people in the house.
(14:12):
So you can do it like viceversa, you know.
But the idea is it's all aboutwhat makes you feel good.
And if you've been living inyour house for a while and there's
some nuanced parts that justare not working, or that it's like
I'm working really hard andI'm not seeing the financial flow,
I'm not seeing the respect orthe recognition for what you're doing,
(14:36):
or your kids are fighting allthe time.
If there's something that justBuilds up.
Like, that's where I love fengshui, because this practice doesn't
get it wrong.
Like, when we analyze yourhouse, I'm like, okay, well, the
reason your kids are fightingall the time is because of this.
The reason you're not gettingthe recommendation is because of
this.
And this is what we do.
And it's a very, very clear plan.
(14:57):
Here's your plan.
Do that for me with my clientsis once they have that in place,
like your house is set.
Now.
It starts with your home.
And I think that that's whereit's one of these topics that can
be misunderstood because youthink, oh, it's put the couch there
and put these here and putthese ornaments.
It's not that it's aboutreally harnessing the five elements
within your home and balancing them.
(15:18):
And once that's balanced, which is what we do with our clients
in our program, amazing.
You'll start to feel like yourhouse feels more calmer and more
connected to nature, to thatrhythm and that cycle.
And then beyond that is what Ilove doing with my clients after
that is having theseconversations of, like, how do we
get us to internal balance, like to connect?
(15:39):
Because the house is ready.
Once that's all balanced, it'sall good.
And then, then we can bringmore harmony into the other parts
of your life.
Right.
I love that because, I mean,we're creating.
Right Constantly.
And so are we creatingpositive flow in our lives or are
we creating chaos and struggleand all of that?
(16:01):
And I mean, I know when I walkinto certain rooms in my house and
I'm like, huh?
It makes me happy.
Or certain rooms that don't.
And so you can feel that energy.
I know that there are people,I asked in the Grown Ass Woman's
Guide community a little whileback about feng shui, and most people
were like, I'm curious.
This to me is like one of manytools that we use in our lives to
(16:23):
get into flow with people, toget into flow, most importantly with
ourselves.
For sure.
I know that the last episode, which I'm going to link to the episode
three years ago, because we dogo through a lot of basics.
And I don't want to go backand just rehash the same stuff.
So definitely listen to that.
But I asked this time, okay, what people are interested in improving
(16:46):
or elevating in their livesthrough feng shui?
And I bet you can guess whatnumber one was.
Money.
Yes.
We'Re all predictable.
I do want to talk a little bitabout that.
But number two also is harmony.
At home.
(17:07):
And I think grown ass womenvalue that.
Where maybe when we were inour 30s or 20s, for me I always loved
being home, but it didn't havethe same value as it does for me
now.
It needs to be that placewhere I feel my most authentic self,
whether I'm working here orjust being with my family, having
(17:29):
a meal or reading a book bymyself or whatever it is.
And so what are some ways, let's start there, that we can make
our home more harmonious.
Yeah, so I would love to justroll back for one second on this
one because when it comes tofeng shui, one of the things I think
is so powerful, especially inlike the world that we're in right
(17:50):
now.
Okay.
There's a lot of stuff goingon outside and if everyone's at home,
we're in our house.
This is our own little sanctuary.
This is our environment.
And we have especially thewomen literally are the thermometer
of the home.
And they're the ones whotypically lead the actual decor and
(18:10):
the energy.
Everything is you.
So this is within your span ofcontrol and oftentimes it can just
get overlooked.
So I'm just really gratefulfor this conversation and for everyone
listening.
Like the first thing to bringmore harmony into your home is to
actually become conscious ofthis is within your span of control
and bringing harmony and peaceand getting really mindful about
(18:33):
the fact that your home has anenergetic blueprint is literally
dictated by the year yourhouse is built, the size of it, the
shape of it, the position onthe planet.
This is all like.
And then it's like when wework with Feng shui, it's like an
astrology reading for your home.
And then we're like, oh, lookat that's what that look, this is
what's going on and you wantmore harmony and this is this, we
have to do that.
(18:54):
So just being really awarethat you have a very powerful tool.
And as you said, it is a tool,it's going to help.
So becoming aware and thefirst thing I would say is that level,
it's just awareness that yourhome has an energy and it is supporting
you or not either ways, there's things you can do.
But I would say to you, justliterally connecting with the soul
(19:17):
of your home, do a meditation, connect with this, just think and
thank it for everything thatit does has an energy as a vibration.
And when you start to kind ofconnect with it, you'll start to
really become moreappreciative that you remove over
your head.
Because I bet you, you caneasily walk around your home and
(19:37):
find bits that are not how youwant it, you know?
And honestly, InstagramPinterest has a lot, a lot to do
with this.
And I think that it is reallymaking life, especially for women,
a bit more difficult becausewe're trying to achieve this perfect
home.
That's not what feng shui is about.
I just measure, measure up.
(19:58):
And this ideal reaching forperfection and Instagrammable and
all of that stuff.
Like, that's not what a fengshui house is about.
A feng shui house, a home isabout walking into your place.
Your kids are happy, yourhusband, your partner are happy,
you're having a good night'ssleep, your business is going well,
you're feeling good.
Like, that's what it's about.
(20:19):
It's not about aesthetics.
And this is not about reachingfor perfection.
When people ask me, how do Iknow if your house is good feng shui
or bad feng shui?
I'm like, what's going on inyour life?
Because it is a mirror.
It's a direct mirror.
And recognizing that and belike, oh, my God, it's a mirror.
So what is in my house?
So when I work with people,it's a lot.
(20:39):
There's a lot more detailedwork that we do for people and the
specific bespoke work.
But the first thing you can dois, like, start at your front door
before you get into your house.
Like, how are you feeling?
Are you excited to drive inthe driveway?
Is there, like, a nice welcome mat?
We just got a new welcome mapthat I'm so excited about.
Says two little birds.
I said, welcome to our nest.
I was like, like.
(21:00):
And it was the first thingthat I did when I came home from
Greece.
I was like, oh, look at the waterman's.
So worn.
Ken's like, why you bought?
We don't.
It's war.
It's like, why?
Because I want to feel good.
It's so cute.
That cost €7.
That is worth every seven years.
I walk in and go, I'm so cute.
(21:21):
Yes.
I bought a welcome mat withyou in mind.
I was at a store with myhusband, and you know what it says?
It says, yay, it's you with anexclamation point.
And I'm like, that is the most welcoming.
Like that.
And that is so me, you know?
And so that's what ours saysat the front door.
And I thought of you when Ipurchased it.
So nice.
So start there.
(21:41):
Like, look around.
Like, how does it feel coming in?
Open that door.
Is it Easy.
And this is like, a financialone as well.
Is the door easy to open?
Does the energy come in niceand easily?
And what is the first thingyou see?
Especially families.
Like, I have gone into houses, and there's like, 500 pairs of shoes
and 50 coats.
And I'm like, nobody needs allthese coats at the one time.
Nobody needs all these shoesat the one time.
(22:03):
We need to come up with asolution, you know, and.
Because if you are openingyour door and you're literally being
struck with overwhelm, thefirst thing you see, see, it's just
gonna literally spike yourcortisol levels.
And then you walk in aroundyour house and you're giving out,
you know, first thing.
So, like, sort out the places, like your first place that you interact
with when you come home.
(22:24):
Whether it's a wall, that'sthe first thing you see.
And if you have a wall, isthere a picture or something that
makes you feel really good?
Can you put a picture up?
Can you get a place like a basket?
Throw the shoes into thebasket, make sure the door opens
up.
So this is just about kind oflike a sense of, like, flow in the
space now for, like, financialstuff, that your front door opens
wide and then it goes out to,like, the back door or a window.
(22:48):
That's not ideal because themoney in energy is coming in and
going straight out.
So I would recommend puttingup maybe a curtain or something.
And I do have YouTube videoson this, but that's the first stop.
And then the next thing isfresh eyes.
So a harmonious home.
And I'll just talk about onehouse I walked into once I walked
in.
Looks lovely.
It's very nice.
(23:09):
Family home.
And there's this huge familyportrait on the wall.
I'm like, tell me about this.
This is beautiful.
And it happened to be in theirfamily area in their living room.
I was like, perfect.
Family picture in your livingroom idea.
And she turned to me and she'slike, we had a huge fight just before
that picture was taken.
Oh.
And you know why I was being hired?
(23:30):
Because her husband and sonwere just, like, not getting on.
And I'm like, oh.
And there's a picture of a fight.
Literally, it doesn't matter how.
You're like, hey, you're all happy.
We're not get.
I was like, burnish.
Burn it.
So again, fresh eyes, like, walking around your space and looking.
(23:50):
And then back to the verybeginning of our conversation.
We talked about the 20 years.
You know, what's here from 20years ago.
Like, does this representWhere I want to go, what I want to
create.
Is there an energy thatconnects with this, this piece, you
know, like, everything.
And I'm a big, big sticklerfor artwork because I just feel like
it is such an energy imprintand it really is impacting our unconscious
(24:15):
mind all the time.
So, like, what are the pieceson your walls?
Like, what do they represent?
What are they saying aboutyou, about what you're creating,
about your family?
I share this story so manytimes, but I have a very good friend
in Greece, and he has amagnificent home.
And he's this big picture, like, painting that he commissioned.
(24:35):
And it's.
His favorite painting wasRenoir the Boat Party.
It's super cute, but it's abasically got, like, it recreated
with the faces are like, himand his family.
Like, it's super cute.
It's super cute.
Like, you wouldn't know.
Like, you know, be like upthere, you know.
Anyways, what's so fun is thatevery time I go to that house, it's
(24:55):
for a party or on there to goon their boat.
It's like, literally it is themost wealthy.
But, like, of course he has abig picture pope.
It's his holiday home.
Like, it's a boat, you know,so it's like, what is it that you
want to create?
If you're thinking harmonioushome, think of the images that represent
that.
What are the images?
It's like you and your familymay be on their best holiday to Disneyland
(25:18):
or to wherever you went.
And it was like the best hotfamily hobby.
A big collage of that in yourliving room or in your living room
together.
Like, where do you want goodtimes to be?
Bring that into it.
Or is it a picture of peopleall together doing that?
You know, I have like, abeautiful statue of, like, this.
These, like, people alltogether holding hands.
Like it's a circle and itfeels really nice.
(25:38):
And like it's.
Everyone's going to have theirown instinctual visuals that they
can bring in.
And I really highly recommendthat from.
From a perspective of like, harmonious home.
And then the next thing isdepending, say, if you have children
or you don't have children, ifyou have grown up children and you've
a lot of baby images of themup around the house, I would get
(26:01):
rid of those or pack them away.
Not like, you know, to dumpthem, but, like, pack them away because
the baby images can kind ofalmost like recreate that kind of
childish behavior.
So we're thinking harmony.
We want them a bit more grown up.
Let's like get stick with themore grown up pictures in the space.
And then for, for children interms of like sleeping arrangements
and that in the kids bedrooms.
(26:23):
Having a family photo is veryuseful in young children, like up
to teens age in the room.
Like it's very affirmative ofthat sense of connection and togetherness.
So that like for familyharmony, they will be my.
That feel really important.
And then again, look at the artwork.
Say for example for couples,if you're in a relationship, you
want to like have a lookaround and see if there's loads of
(26:45):
single images, like singleboats, single man, single women.
That can kind of be to likeloneliness or even.
I see a lot of my clients willtend to be if they, even if they
are in a relationship, they'llfeel isolated or their partner will
work away from home a lot.
So it's like if you wanttogetherness, make sure there's images
of people together pairs andagain, family harmony ones.
(27:08):
Get rid of those cynical quotethings like it's not me, it was my
wife or those blame on this orblame on the kids, all of those things.
You can kind of laugh, butthere's a thread there that's like
not nice.
That's meant to like send a meme.
Send a meme to a friend if youwant to.
But like don't hang it in your home.
Don't hang it in your home.
Yeah, don't hang it in your home.
(27:30):
Like we had.
I remember.
Welcome mad of a client.
I will.
Welcome to the mad house.
I had read their question.
I was like, it's a bit mad.
Get rid of the math first.
Stop.
Stop affirming.
Yes, we need to create a new story.
What's the story you want to create?
Yes.
So I have a question.
So many of us will go on tothese buy nothing groups on Facebook
(27:52):
or wherever and you know, exchange goods for free or buy things
in Facebook marketplace orthis is not an ad for Facebook.
And so we bring what I wouldimagine is someone else's energy
from their stuff into our home.
How do we incorporate thatwithout bringing in that possibly
potentially negative energy?
So I think that there's a fewthings with this.
(28:12):
Number one, it's like if itfeels good for you, like if it feels
like oh my God and you have anexcitement about it, that's good.
But I would say for sure, definitely exceed it or Palo Santo
it and like just check in withlike, who's buying this?
Is it me?
Is it like my unconsciouswanted to bring this in.
Like we've had people withcushions in their house that say
(28:33):
F off, like, jokingly, andit's in their prosperity area.
You're like, oh, that's interesting.
Around your financial, like,unconscious behavior.
Right.
You're not seeing it.
And that's why the fresh eyesis really important.
So rather, like, I am a bigfan of, like, less.
I'm not a minimalist, but I amlike, who's buying this and why am
(28:55):
I bringing it in?
And do I really need it?
And if I'm bringing somethingnew in, what's going.
And then space clear.
Like, definitely do a space clearing.
If you're like, okay, it'sticked all those things.
It's something that I'm goingto use and I love.
And if you love it, great.
Like, this isn't about havingnothing in your house.
It's about having what feelsgood and really important for me
(29:18):
with this, especially as we'removing this time, is like, that it
reflects where you're goingand what you're creating.
So really start to think.
Like, for example, I had aclient who really wants to live in
la.
Like, she really wanted tolive in America.
She was living in the uk.
So her house before that, before she started working with me,
we did her remedies.
She balanced it all out.
(29:39):
But it was kind of hippie vibe.
It was a bit of a hippie vibe.
And she kind of got like, those palm trees and like, images
from LA and put the artwork.
And it was tasteful.
It wasn't like, in your face.
It was tasteful.
And she's just got approved, her visa.
She was in la, no, Austin.
But that's the thing.
It was just like, it all kindof starts on bowl because she's,
like, creating it.
Like, make your home thevision board.
(30:01):
Right.
And so speaking of visionboards, is that something you use
in your practice or in your life?
Yeah.
Well, for me, around visionboards, it's really about, like,
what's the feeling behindhaving the thing, you know?
So I've gone from a personthat would have made a lot of vision
boards in the past, and now Idon't particularly make them anymore.
(30:23):
Sometimes I do, but they'remore about a feeling and an energy
as opposed to a stuff thing.
So it's like, what am Icreating in my life?
So it's more like a lifeboardas opposed to a vision board of stuff,
which feels a lot better.
And I love when I see them, when I'm like, oh.
Or like, what are theactivities I'm going to be doing
(30:44):
or how I'm going to Feel.
So it's that kind of lifeboardwhich is kind of similar but has
a different kind of nuance to it.
And what I love doing is doingit with our clients around the different
areas of their life.
So that's one of the thingsthat's super fun about feng shui
is that we work at all nine areas.
So it's like health, career, finances, relationships, children,
(31:06):
new beginnings, fertility.
So every aspect of your lifeis covered and you can start to really
look at.
And that's, you know, part of that.
This idea is especially forwomen who've been busy, busy, busy,
busy.
And a lot of them get to aplace where they're like, okay, I'm
kind of done with this busyness.
Something needs to change.
I want to change my house.
And then I started, well, whatdo you want?
How do you want your life to feel?
(31:27):
How do you want to look?
What are the things?
And it's not necessarily thethings, but that essence of like,
if you are in full flow withyour life, what does that look like?
How does it feel?
Yes, and I think that is sucha great way to look at it because
if you ask, I would say many, many grown ass women, what do you
want?
They're like, I don't know, Idon't know what I want.
(31:48):
But if you say, how do I wantto feel?
I want to feel free, I want tofeel healthy and active, I want to
feel connected, like all ofthose things.
So if you focus on the feelingthat you're looking for and not necessarily
the.
I want my bank account to have$2 million in it and I want to my
kids to be angels and I wantto like, in these, these feelings,
(32:11):
I think you're going to riseto the vibration.
Is that for sure?
I think that for sure.
And you know, that idea oflike freedom and all of that, like
if you start then lookingaround your house and you're seeing
loads of stuff, like you gothrough drawers of things.
When's the last time I wore this?
Where am I gonna be like that?
That having all of that, thethings, and especially connected
(32:34):
to the past can hold us backfrom that sense of freedom, that
sense of lightness.
I've come back and I'm likeblown away by the amount of clothes
I have.
And I actually don't think Ihave much compared to a lot of people,
but I was like, oh my God, Iam not buying anything.
Nothing, nothing.
I don't need anything.
I'm just going to wear what Ihave here.
(32:55):
And I'm just amazed And Ithink in society we've been just
like driven for more, more, more, more.
And if we look at nature, it'sjust like, go through the cycles,
go through the cycles.
And it's about.
It's a different philosophyand way of living.
And then we're like, okay, that more, more, more is that busy,
busy, busy energy, which isthe opposite of how do I want to
(33:17):
live, how do my life to look, how do I want to feel?
And is my house a mirror ofhaving loads of stuff?
Because that can feel heavy.
Yes.
Having a lot of stuff.
Absolutely.
I think about even a junkdrawer, which I try to start small.
And I'm here to tell anybodywho's listening that you do not need
the manuals came with thattelevision that you bought 10 years
(33:38):
ago.
Because first of all, all themanuals are online now.
And secondly, you're notreturning it.
Like, you're good.
You know, some of the thingswe hang on to are crazy, man.
And the junk doors.
And this is the thing, like, people say to me, trisha, you know,
I have feng shui.
Like, I don't know where to start.
I'm like, it is about flow.
(33:59):
And there's going to becertain areas of your home where
stuff hasn't been moved or itfeels overwhelming.
And that will be my next call.
Like next quarter.
Call it.
Go to that junk drawer, emptyit out and feel the relief and be
like, oh, my God.
Because every time you openit, it triggers you and gets you
stress response.
If you can open it.
If you can open it.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I think of thekitchen drawer, right?
(34:21):
Where like, there are kitchentools that I have never used.
Like, I have never once usedone of those crackers to crack lobster.
Never in my life have I made love.
But it came.
It was like part of a wedding gift.
Like, I think I can let go ofthat now.
Patricia.
I think it's okay.
I've been married 21 years, but, you know, you can't open the
drawer.
(34:42):
I know.
And I think that, like, thisis the thing.
It's like, especially when youstart looking at, like you're looking.
It's there 21 years, I'venever used it.
Somebody in a charity shop isgoing to be jumping for joy.
They're like, I love lobster.
I have it all the time.
And I need just exactly that, you know, it's like that cycle change.
Yes.
And.
And the other thing I findvery interesting as well is one that
(35:04):
a lot of people may be like,no, don't say this one.
But books oh, yes, they go onthe shelf and they stay on the shelf.
They're not going anywhere.
And like, all joking aside, literally one of my first clients,
and I was walking around herhome and it was a very old house,
like, very old traditionalIrish cottage.
(35:26):
And I said to her, I was like, and this bookshelf.
And I could tell the bookswere like, really old.
And I'm like, this bookshelf, like, has this been here for long?
She's like, well, I lived in33 years ago, so it was there then.
And I was like, oh, man.
And the books.
Yeah, yeah, the books.
No, she had moved in to her.
Her husband's home house, andthose books had been there.
(35:47):
And I'm like, oh, my God, talkabout stagnancy.
I said, do you think anyoneread them?
I don't know about.
I was like, man.
So.
And we can joke and say that, but at this, like, 30, whatever years,
but if you literally look atbookshelves, there's probably books
there that you haven't lookedat or touched for years.
And that's creating stagnancy.
And there can be a real.
(36:09):
Even personally, we had threeginormous bookshelves in this house,
and it, with those shelves, comes having to have books on them.
And then I was like, what arewe doing with all the books?
What are we doing with all the shelves?
Just, like, let's get rid ofthe shelves.
And that led to us having.
We have, like, literally noteven like three rows of books in
(36:29):
our house now.
Very curated of like, I'mgoing to read that again.
Or someone comes to my house,I want to be gifted or.
Yeah, but there's that ego part.
Look at all the books I've read.
I'm so smart.
So you're not suggesting weget rid of books that we want to
pick up again, that we want to like.
I have certain books that Ipick up because there are lessons
in there.
And I'm like, I know I need togo to page 42 right now, you know,
(36:51):
but just books that don'tbring anything to our lives.
No.
And, you know, it's very interesting.
We start going through them.
I was just doing our house inGreece, like, bunch my eyes in Greece.
And I'm like, looking over.
I was like, in ourrelationship area and I was standing
there.
It's one of those books that Ijust pulled them out.
One of them was by EdithEdgar, you know, the lady who lived
in Auswitch.
(37:11):
And the choice.
I was like, this is not.
I don't need this in my housethat we've read it.
Yeah.
They can go.
And it definitely doesn't needto be in my relationship area.
Right.
You know, no, thanks.
You know, so it's like everyone of those things has a frequency.
So you're looking at it beinglike, do I need all of these?
And this is where it becomes a muscle.
Like, you can start with maybebooks is a difficult.
(37:32):
Start with a junk drawer inthe kitchen.
Then the books are.
Then the underwear drawer.
Like just getting into a placeof like, what's going to make you
feel lighter in your house?
Oh, yeah, I.
I recently did actually, myunderwear drawer.
And I was like, I don't evenwear like five pairs of them that
I will scoot past every single time.
I'm like, why are they stillin here?
(37:53):
Toss them.
And like you said, I mean, notnecessarily the underwear, but other
things.
There's somebody out there whoreally could use the thing that you're
not using.
And so I love that energeticshift where I'm actually bringing
what I think might beusefulness into somebody's life where
I'm not using it.
So.
Yeah.
And then we don't have to.
People don't have to buy morethings either, you know, which I
(38:14):
think is great.
My favorite hack for this alsofor people, and I've seen my clients
love it, is I get them to likewrite a list of things that they
do need in their life.
So I need a new washingmachine, money for the kids, Christmas
presents.
Like, whatever it is, writethe whole big list.
And then as you let go, you'relike, okay, I'm making space for
all these things.
So you're very clear withwhat's coming back in.
(38:37):
It's not like I'm making allthis space and it's going to get
filled up with junk again.
It's like I'm making thisspace to feel this lightness.
And I specifically, these arethe things that are going to be useful.
So it's like a different slanton like manifesting and vision board.
It's very.
It's like a practical.
Like, this would be useful.
This would be.
This would be useful.
Right.
And how can it come into yourlife if you're not making the space
(38:57):
for it?
So you talk about all thedifferent areas that.
I know when people work withyou, they take a much deeper dive
into all of these areas.
But can we spend a little bitof time on prosperity and the prosperity
areas and how the Gordaswomen's guide community can bring
in, attract more abundance in 2024.
(39:19):
So the prosperity area is thesoutheast area of your home.
And there is, you know, don'tget too caught up on, like, oh.
What I would say is get yourphone compass out, see where the
general area is, go stand on it.
And literally everythingtalked about, like, walk around.
Anything that's broken andit's cracked and it's not working,
clear it out.
There's not, like, specific cures.
(39:40):
There is a specific cure foryour home that balances it, but I
have to do my wholecalculations to tell you this is
the thing for your housebecause it's different for every
house, but it's aconsciousness of that area, and being
aware of it is going to make a difference.
So clearing out anythingthat's no use, it doesn't work.
It's on every level.
So you can just go and standin every level on that area and be
(40:01):
like, okay, like, even if itis the bathroom, it doesn't matter.
It's more about, like, iseverything you're working, you know,
for a bathroom, you could belike, oh, I'll get some new fluffy
towels, or I'll bring someflowers, or maybe I'll get some nice
hand soap for this area.
You know, so you can justthink, how can I improve it?
And that would be my mainthing for you.
And then from a feng shuiperspective, again, no leaks, no
(40:24):
drips.
Anything that's, like, justnot working or broken is going to
be depleting the energy of thehouse from a financial and prosperity
perspective.
Right.
I do like you to think even inthat prosperity area, you could,
like, write a check to the universe.
You can, you know, just pop itinto that area.
You could get a bowl with some coins.
Overflowing.
It's not a cure, but it is ananchor of overflowing prosperity
(40:48):
and abundance in my home.
Like, so you're like, oh,yeah, there's always more money.
I feel connected to the flowof abundance.
I'm bountiful, I'm abundant.
And that goes right back tothe beginning where it's like fresh
eyes with your space and justgiving thanks for the fact you have
a house.
And if you walk around yourhouse and you're like, oh, the bathroom
is too old, or this is broken,or that and complaining about it,
(41:10):
you're going to get more of that.
So let's, like, refocus yourattention to, like, what you love
about your house.
Start to really coming into that.
I have a home.
This is beautiful.
I love this.
I love this.
What do I need to let go of toSupport me in this new era and that
abundant space.
Just go in and say, is there apicture that feels abundant that
you could bring in there that represents.
Maybe it's flowers or trees orsomething that just like represents
(41:33):
that for you.
Right.
I love that.
And I think regardless ofwhether you own your home, rent your
home, live in an apartment, guest house, like, all of these principles
can be applied regardless of 100%.
We've just worked with a ladywho we both made her caravan.
She wanted to buy a house soherself and her family downgraded
to a caravan.
We felt weighted.
And she's after getting thisbrand new house, and she was on today
(41:55):
going like, oh, my God, I'vegot a house with me.
Oh, my God.
A defunct way, you know, soit's like, it doesn't matter the
size.
I think this is one of thethings, and it's not reaching for
perfection.
Right?
So if somebody's in anapartment, they can use the southeast
area of their apartment, notnecessarily the whole building, because
it would get really awkward ifthey somebody else.
And from a full perspective,it's just like this.
(42:16):
The property that you own orthat you're renting or that space
is within those walls that arelike, under your contract or, you
know.
Got it, Got it.
Y.
Yeah.
I love that.
Okay, so we've cleared our space.
We've created a beautifulsoutheast corner as much as we can,
even if it's a bathroom.
What is one more thing that wecan do, possibly even outside of
(42:37):
our house, to attract abundance?
Clean your windows.
Oh, good one.
Yes.
And clean your front door.
This is like the.
The eyes and the mouth of your home.
Clean your windows.
Like you can see what's coming.
You can see where you're going.
It will feel really bright.
And I went off to go clean myown window.
We've just moved back and Iwas like, have the windows cleaners
(42:59):
calm.
And he's just like, they camelast week.
I'm like, how?
So I'll be doing my own aswell as you all come in and be like.
And don't try and do the onesthat you can't get to.
Don't beat yourself up.
If you can't do it, do so.
Yeah, exactly.
Yes, yes.
Oh, my gosh.
We don't want anyone gettingon a ladder because Patricia and
Jackie told them to.
(43:20):
No, thank you.
Just, you know, do what youcan in your own time.
Enjoy it, you know, if you'reready to shift the energy in your
home.
Patricia has tons of YouTubevideos and resources on her Website
and social channels.
I'll link to them all atgrownasswoman guide forward slash
episode 195.
But listen to this story of transformation.
(43:41):
Yes, I've seen somemagnificent examples and we have
one amazing lady who justcomes to mind.
She had her business, it wasvery struggly.
She was single, kind of likelike this person and also had like
death and stuff.
And it's just been so amazingbecause she's been on this journey
for a few years which I love watching.
(44:02):
She ended up selling thehouse, meeting the person.
Now she's like moved to a new place.
They got this amazing house, they just got married and she set
up her own business.
Basically kind of got to aplace where they she's award winning
business that she's been ableto step away more and start her own
little holistic crystal store.
(44:25):
Wow, that's nice.
Like a hobby little business.
Like it is so nice.
And she's like this is herdream to have this space that people
could come.
She's a little shop.
Her other business is doing sogood now and she's married.
She just got married.
So.
So what are some of the thingsshe did like that you feel contributed
to that?
She got rid of a lot of her.
(44:47):
The house that she was livingwith was.
She had moved in with her exhusband and there was a lot of her
own family furniture in it as well.
Like people had died and sheended up inheriting all this stuff.
And obviously we worked interms of like the feng shui perspective
and then we worked together inselling her house because it was
a beautiful house but therewas things to make sure that it would
(45:07):
sell that we did together.
And then she was very clear onwhat she was looking for her new
house.
So when you're living in afeng shui house, I'm telling people
like this is what you need tolook out for when you're looking
for a new house.
Because it was some thingsthat weren't great for that one in
her existing one.
So this, that's kind of the journey.
It's like helping people buy, sell, move to the next and start
a whole new life.
(45:28):
Yeah.
You know, it's so rewarding.
I was going to say that mustbe incredible for you to just put
your head down on a pillow atthe end of the day knowing that people
feel supported and hopefulmore than anything.
Yeah, yeah.
I think the other thing isjust knowing that you have a home
that is supporting you andthat you're doing the best you can
(45:48):
with what you do have, whichis amazing.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
It's super rewarding.
It's open.
