In this session, we spend time looking into Genesis 5 - the first genealogy of the bible. We learn about the ways Seth's line in Genesis 5 intentionally parallels Cain's line in Genesis 4, but also how Genesis 5 interacts with another well known genealogy: the Sumerian King List. We also dedicate time to understanding what may be going on with the fantastically long life spans of the patriarchs in Genesis 5. Are these literal? Are they symbolic? Is there something going on here that we don't understand?
