Have you ever felt the weight of mental clutter muffling God's voice in your life? I certainly have, and it's why I, Lyvita, am inviting you to clear the noise and join me on a spiritual expedition designed to renew our focus on what truly matters. My own battles with anxiety and its impact on my wellbeing revealed a need for silence, a space where God's whispers can break through the chaos. This episode is not just about self-improvement; it's about soul improvement. Embracing our unique voices and gifts, and learning to align ourselves with God's exquisite plan for our lives. It's time to prioritize our relationship with the Lord this January, discovering His intentions and nurturing our ultimate connection with Him.

(00:25):
.
Haha, I'm Lamee DeBrooks.
Author, bible teacher, founderof the Me Project Academy and
your host.
Thanks for supporting thisministry and rating and
commenting on the blog andwhatever podcast platform you
are listening to, because thenit makes us feel more like a

(00:47):
conversation.
If this is your first timelistening in, welcome.
Now, come walk with me where weintentionally and daily hang
out with Jesus.
Thanks, I am so happy that 2024is here.

(01:10):
It's like there was so muchgoing on in 2023 until it was
just blowing my mind.
As I told you, in 2023, I'mrevamping the podcast, I'm
revamping my website, becausethere's been a lot of

(01:33):
transitions in my life, andthere have been big transitions,
until I come to the point whereI realize that what God was
saying to me and what I washearing was two different things
, because my mind was socluttered with fear, walking on

(02:02):
eggshells, nervous about this, nervous about that, worried
about this, worried about that, and the things that I was
worried and focused about andthe stuff that was causing me

(02:28):
stress.
I thought it was my job, youknow, because my job is
stressful at times, but I didn'trealize that the way I was
internalizing and reacting wasbecause of the stress that I had

(02:52):
at home, since when there is nopeace within you in your home,
there's a problem, and you needto sit down with God to truly
clear out your mind so you canhear what he has to say.

(03:14):
Not hear what the pastor has tosay, or what other preachers
have to say, or what people sayon YouTube, or what people say
on Instagram, or what yourfamily is saying to you or what
your friends are saying to you.
No, it's what God is saying toyou.

(03:34):
We get so caught up in all thoseother things until when we get
to the place where we're sittingwith our Lord and Savior, jesus
Christ, we're hanging out withHim and we're hoping to hear
from Him.
There's so much.

(04:00):
I mean.
Sometimes it takes a couple ofdays to get all the clutter out,
all the extra voices out, evenyour voice out, just so you can
hear what God has to say.
God is always speaking.

(04:22):
Y'all, he's always speaking.
It's just that we aren'tlistening.
And I've come to this pointwhere I've finally listened, and
it's sad that I had to get to apoint where my health was

(04:46):
affected before I not onlylistened, but I did , since
there is more to living thanwhat we think.
God has so much out there forus to do.
Have you ever been to a pointwhere it seems like God's giving

(05:10):
you this idea, you run with it,but you can only get to a
certain level.
You can't get any higher.
No matter what you do, youcan't get any higher.
But then there's another ideathat comes up.
So you run with it and youstill get to that certain level.
When you can't, that's aproblem.

(05:32):
That's a problem.
And that's when you need topack up your bags, take five
days and talk to the Lord, andsometimes it takes less than
five days to realize what God issaying to you.
This year, we're going to betalking about just getting that

(05:57):
clutter out of our minds.
We're going to be talking aboutself-talk and how to react to
negative people and how to allowGod to propel us to that next
level, how to get out of a rut,how to write our own story, how

(06:19):
to grow within a mess that hasbeen placed before us.
We have allowed the enemy andfamily members and other people
to control us to and when I saycontrol us, I'm talking about

(06:44):
allow their thoughts, theirchoices to influence our
thoughts and our choices.
Until when it comes to ushearing God, it all gets jumbled
up in there and it gets hard toseparate.
But now is time.
It's time to.

(07:09):
This is the year y'all.
This is the year we got a Godwho has steadfast love.
Wow Saying you are so, soawesome, so awesome.
But you can't see it.

(07:32):
Because of the clutter and theglitter of the world and the
confusions that are out there, you can't imagine what God has
in store for you.
You have an idea, but you can'timagine.
I mean.

(07:52):
So we all have dreams, we allhave goals, but it's God who
brings the increase, it's Godwho makes those dreams and goals
go beyond whatever, whatever wecan imagine.
I think, saints, we have to getto the point where we realize

(08:15):
that, in a final analysis, it'sabout you and God, and not
anyone else.
So, saints, this month I'll bedoing a 21-day fast and prayer.
It's something I do every year, and this year it's going to be

(08:46):
about my voice.
God's given me words to say andI'm going to say them.
God's given you words to sayBrevits and writing, drawing,
making something, doingsomething.

(09:09):
God has given us each uniquevoices and tools and what you to
use to speak it through.
I mean, I've realized that thispodcast is more than what I
thought it was.
Okay, it's not just, not justfor you, but it helps me grow as

(09:35):
well, isn't it interesting?
It's interesting how God can,can use one tool to help others
and bring about a joy, and theperson who's using that tool.

(09:58):
Saints, if there's one thingthat I hope and pray is that you
grow from these episodes.
I don't know how to say it anylouder, but you are an
opportunity for God to bringabout an increase Time to stop

(10:23):
procrastinating, to stoprehashing, to stop second
guessing.
Take this month, january.
Spend time with the Lord.
One hour, two hour, eight hour,it doesn't matter.

(10:43):
Spend time with the Lord.
Oh, saints, god loves you.
I would say God is love.
God is so full of love for you.
It's not the kind that we thinkabout on this earth.

(11:06):
It's not a man and woman's love.
It's not a best friend's love,it's not a mother or father's.
No, it is a love that fills youtoo, shout you know you just.

(11:26):
You just yeah, yeah, can't findwords for it, you just overflow
, you just just get all it's.
It's a love that brings in somekind of peace that you can't
find a word for it.
So, saints, this year it's beentime with the Lord, hanging out

(11:49):
with him, especially January, because it's time to go and do
what he called you to dointentionally Did you hear me
Intentionally?
As we go through this, thesheer the episodes are going to

(12:11):
focus on being intentional aboutwhat you do.
But first you guys spend timewith the Lord to know what it is
that he's called you to do.
Saints, spend the time in thismonth talking to God about your

(12:36):
calling and then go do it.
Take that Bible, open it up.
I don't care if it opens up toIsaiah, open it up.

(12:56):
It's some of you already doingdevotionals, so go your next
devotion, keep doing yourdevotional, and whatever that
scripture is, whatever thatchapter is that you're reading,
sit with it, talk to God aboutit, ask your questions.

(13:25):
Then take out your journal andyou write as you hear what God
is saying to you, and you maynot know which voice is talking
at that time.
That's okay, just write it downanyway.
If you start writing and itsays I love you with the

(13:49):
everlasting love, don't forgetto pick up the eggs.
Today, jesus is my son and youare my child.
I love you.
Put some oil in that car today.
I don't know what is going on,that's okay, I got you.

(14:13):
I mean, that's what you write.
That's what you write, you know, because that's what you heard.
Say Jesus, I love you, jesus, Ilove you, jesus, I love you,
jesus, I love you, jesus, I loveyou.
Say it.
Hear God's voice, you willlearn it.
You will learn His voice as youspend time with him.
Yeah, I'm just a little guy.
He's so special because he'smade you and I to be unique.

(14:41):
Don't try to be someone thatyou're not.
You dig in that Bible to findyou cause you're hidden in there
.
All right, saints, let's pray.
Father, thank you for theopportunity to just share my
heart with my brothers andsisters in Christ.

(15:03):
I pray there's been a blessingto them and I pray that
something I have said hassparked them to change and draw
closer to you so that they canhang out with you more.
Lord, touch their hearts rightnow with a joy, a peace that

(15:30):
brings them an awakening to yourlove and to their calling.
I pray this in the name of whois my Lord and Savior and King
Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen.

(15:52):
So, saints, I'm telling you toget on the air with me
Intentionally and daily.
Hang out with Jesus.
Shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom,

(16:12):
shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom, shalom.
