Episode 3: "Hurt people, Hurt people."
Baylie Flynn, 25
Helena, MT
In this episode, I talk with Baylie Flynn.
This was the first episode done in the alternate recording space. It was chill vibes.
Baylie has become a good friend of mine over this last year. She is a super smart and strong willed individual with a heart of gold, haha. She has also been helping me out on the Podcast pretty much from the beginning, with the use of her training in Graphic Design & Computer Science and she is currently finishing her Bachelors in Accounting.
The consequences of the vicious cycle that is "Hurt people, hurting people" is what spawned the spontaneous podcast recording without any video. I don't think this will be a common theme going forward. The way this podcast came about:
I had a nice little mental episode/breakdown. Starting on a day that would have been a start to a beautiful week long vacation. In the process of a overwhelming panic/breathing attack, came a moment of clarity. With clarity came an assortment different ideas and different ways to approach my current life problems/stresses. Some major self exploration was fueled by some psilocybin and mountain therapy. It helped free my mind from what was hindering me in that moment. The free mind is capable of so much.
Knowing my usual manic state, Baylie was not deterred from coming and recording a podcast with me at 11pm. She knew if I actually asked that late, that it was important for me. That's what good friends do, they show up for you when you need them. In this episode Baylie opens up about the struggles she dealt with after the loss of her fifteen year old sister Ashley. Ashley was Baylie's best friend in the world, so I feel very honored that she told her story here. We touched on all parts of metal health in one way or another in this episode. So I think there is a lot in here that people can relate to. There were moments in her life where her spirit seemed broken, but she battled through and is now making a beautiful life for her and her son Casey. For the relatively small amount of time that I've known Baylie, I've seen enough strength and courage to last a lifetime. This gal is a real fighter, and I think her story proves that. You never know what the person next to you has gone through, the more we understand that, the more we can understand each other. Baylie would like the world to know that this podcast is for Ashley Ryan Flynn.
I hope somebody can take something away from Baylie's story to help benefit their own.
Thank you to Baylie! For being such a great friend & Human.

Ruthie's Table 4
For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
