you're looking for a local
podcast to check out, withenlightening conversation on
sustainability, solar energy andmore.
Look no further, because wehave a company that's offering
their perspectives on thesetopics.
So joining me now is Ralph andBen with Harman Solar Podcast.
Hey guys, thanks for joining usHi.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
thanks for having us.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Okay, let's just get
right to it.
You guys are used to this rightTalking to people and doing
interviews so whose idea was itto start this podcast?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
It was actually my
idea.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
I do some other stuff
around their own podcast and I
think that said, ben, we shouldstart this.
I think it's a great idea toinform some people, give them
some knowledge and learn them.
So we started doing this abouta couple of weeks ago, a couple
of months ago it was actually acouple of months ago, yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
A couple of months
ago.
Okay, that's when you guysstarted thinking about it and
actually making it happen.
How long has it been on air oron the podcast?
Speaker 3 (00:48):
It's been out about
two months.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah two months.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Okay, we do one every
week.
Okay, I think it started off asmaybe we'll just do a couple
here and there.
Then it turned it into more ofa all right, we've got to start
doing this every week now.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Okay, every week
because it's getting so popular,
right?
People are interested infinding out all of this
information, so how do you comeup with all your topics?
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So the main idea
behind it was we need to educate
people.
Buying solar is a very complexthing.
It's not like going to thestore and just buying milk or
ketchup or something.
It's very customizable to youand your lifestyle.
So we needed to educate peopleon that so that we can kind of
weed out all the bad information.
Because if you look on socialmedia there's a lot of bad
(01:27):
information on solar and peoplethink it's a scam and this and
that.
It's not like that, it's justbecause you were misinformed.
So our goal with this wholepodcast was to we need to get
out the correct information sothat people and consumers can
make better decisions.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
You know that's so
true because when people are
knocking on my door at my houseand they're trying to sell me
this, I'm like, oh, I don't knowany background information.
I'm like is this really true?
Am I really going to save money?
Should I be giving up myelectric company for this?
You know, so that's what youguys help out with, right.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
We do, and Arizona is
probably the best place in the
country for solar right.
So a lot of companies come outhere from different states,
especially during the summer, because they're going to try to
come out here and get somebusiness and they don't
understand the complexities ofArizona.
So what we've done is, by doingthis, we're arming the people
to say hey, make sure thatyou're looking at these things
and asking these questions, because if you're not, you just
(02:16):
might be doing the wrong thingfor yourself.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
So we're trying to
protect people.
What I always tell people isnot everyone should get solar,
which is shocking.
Yeah, not everyone should getsolar, but everyone should at
least take a look.
Get multiple quotes frommultiple companies and take a
look at everything to get allyour information and then make
the decision of is it going tobe best for me?
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Okay, I like that
because you're being real right,
because I'm sure everybody'slike, yes, you need this, but
maybe it doesn't fit your homeand maybe and that's what you
guys are helping out with.
So what topics have you takenon so far?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Wow.
So we started with SRP just totalk about the complexities,
because it's so different whenyou go solar and SRP.
So we started talking about SRPand demand management.
Those were our first twoepisodes and we thought this
would be like maybe a 30-minuteepisode.
We're an hour in going.
Wow, there's a lot ofinformation there.
We brought guests in frommanufacturers and experts that
have come in in the differentfields.
So we started SRP, starteddemand management, then we went
(03:11):
into roofing to talk aboutroofing and what you should look
for If you want to go solar.
Obviously it goes on your roof, but things should you know.
And how does Harmon do?
Things?
Different because we are verydifferent than every other
company in the industry.
We did that.
What was the?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
next one, we did EV
charging network.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, so we got into
the EV world to talk about the
charging network that's going onand electric vehicles and we
brought in an expert to talkabout that.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
We did our sales too.
Yup, sales.
The whole sales process frombeginning to end.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
You guys have covered
it all already so far, right?
Oh, no, no, no, no, close.
You're like oh, not even close.
Okay, it feels like they'vetouched on so many topics, but
you still have so many more.
