Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to Harmony Hub Health, where my mission is
to provide comprehensive,affordable, integrative care
that addresses the root cause ofhealth issues.
At the Hub, the focus is onindividual patient journeys.
I strive to optimize health, vitality and longevity,
fostering a community where eachperson can thrive in body, mind
and spirit.

(00:21):
So I was called the B-word lastweek.
Yep, I was called the B wordlast week.
Yep, I was called the B word, and it's not what you think.
Um, I was called a biohackerand I got really excited.
Because in the world ofbiohacking, where the goal is to
push the boundaries of humanperformance, longevity and
overall wellbeing, ozone therapystands out as a game changer.

(00:45):
Imagine harnessing the power ofoxygen to not only detoxify
your body but also boost yourimmune system, reduce
inflammation and enhance yourenergy levels at a cellular
level.
Sounds like science fiction, right, but it's very much
science fact.
You know how much I lovescience.
Ozone therapy is the ultimatebio hack, a cutting edge,

(01:08):
non-invasive treatment thatstimulates the body's own
healing mechanisms.
By introducing controlledamounts of ozone or O3 into your
system, you are essentiallysupercharging your cells,
enabling them to fight oxidativestress, repair damage and
enhance circulation like neverbefore.
Whether you're looking torecover from chronic fatigue,

(01:31):
improve mental clarity, detoxifyor simply optimize your body's
functions.
Ozone therapy offers a natural, safe and powerful way to
achieve peak performance.
And the best part, it's nowavailable as part of the most
forward thinking functionalmedicine practices, just like
mine at Harmony Hub Health.
If you're ready to biohack yourhealth and unlock your body's

(01:53):
true potential, then join me andlet's dive into how ozone
therapy can be the ultimate toolin your wellness arsenal.
So are you struggling withautoimmune disease, chronic pain

(02:17):
, brain fog, fatigue or evenlong COVID?
Or perhaps you're facing otherhealth struggles that just won't
seem to improve despitetraditional treatments?
If so, ozone infusion therapymight be the answer that you've
been searching for.
Ozone therapy is an innovativeand emerging treatment in the

(02:38):
realm of functional medicine, and I am so excited to bring it
to Harmony Hub Health.
But how did this cutting edgetherapy begin and why is it
still a controversial topic inthe world of modern medicine?
We're going to explore thefascinating history of ozone
therapy, its global use and whyit might be just what your body

(02:58):
needs for a complete wellnessoverhaul.
So the story of ozone begins inthe 19th century with the
discovery of ozone gas itself.
Ozone was first identified in1840 by German chemist Christian
Friedrich Schoenbein.
He discovered the gas whileconducting experiments involving
electrical discharges in theair, noting a distinct sharp

(03:20):
smell that is commonlyassociated with ozone.
However, it wasn't until 1893that ozone's therapeutic
potential was first explored bythe medical community.
The first ozone therapytreatment was introduced by Dr
Albert Wolff.
He was a German scientist whoused ozone for wound healing
during the early 20th century, and the positive results led to

(03:43):
more experiments.
Century, and the positiveresults led to more experiments,
and by 1930s the ozone therapywas being used in Germany for a
variety of medical conditions, including infections, wounds and
even to stimulate oxygenationin patients with poor
circulation.
So fast forward to the 1970sand 1980s, and ozone therapy was

(04:04):
gaining traction in Europe as apromising method for improving
immune function, detoxificationand circulatory health.
So it was also recognized forits antimicrobial properties and
was being used to treatbacterial and viral infections.
Over the decades, the therapygained a loyal following of
practitioners and patients whoexperienced remarkable health

(04:27):
benefits.
And ozone therapy isn't just aniche treatment.
It's becoming increasinglypopular all across the globe.
Several countries have longembraced ozone therapy as an
effective complementary andalternative treatment In
countries like Germany andalternative treatment In

(04:48):
countries like Germany, mexico, italy and Cuba, ozone therapy is
widely used in their hospitalsand private clinics to treat a
wide range of chronic conditions.
Some of these conditions couldbe chronic pain like back pain
or osteoarthritis, autoimmuneconditions like lupus,
rheumatoid arthritis, chronicfatigue syndrome, inflammatory
conditions like inflammatorybowel disease, long COVID and

(05:08):
post-viral recovery, and again, those infections, especially
those that are resistant toantibiotics.
So many practitioners worldwiderecognize ozone's ability to
improve circulation, enhancecellular function, boost immune
response and detoxify the body.
In countries where ozonetherapy is fully integrated into

(05:29):
healthcare systems, patientshave access to cutting-edge
ozone treatments that areadministered safely in clinical
settings.
But Big Pharma does not likeozone therapy.
Despite its growing successworldwide, ozone therapy has yet
to gain widespread acceptancein mainstream medicine,
especially the United States.

(05:50):
One of the primary reasons hasto be big pharma right.
The pharmaceutical industry isdriven by profits from drugs
that require FDA approval, andthey see ozone therapy as a
direct competitor to manyconventional treatments that it
currently sells.
Imagine not needing antibioticsor antivirals or so many of

(06:11):
these other medications.
And since ozone therapy isconsidered an alternative
medication and has not beenapproved by the FDA for
therapeutic use, it doesn'tgenerate profits for
pharmaceutical companies.
Big Pharma has been known toresist alternative treatments
that cannot get a patent or thatchallenges the status quo of

(06:31):
conventional pharmaceutical care.
The lack of large-scaleclinical trials, which is
necessary for FDA approval, haskept ozone therapy from gaining
mainstream medical acceptance, despite numerous studies and
positive patient testimonialssupporting its efficacy.
Many functional medicineproviders they do believe that

(06:53):
the patient outcomes thatthey've seen speak louder than
the lack of FDA approval.
Ozone therapy offers affordable, natural and holistic solutions
to conditions that are oftentreated with expensive
pharmaceuticals that only masksymptoms.
Fda requires millions ofdollars in research and they did
approve vasogen and theirresearch proved ozone therapy to

(07:18):
be safe and effective and theywere able to move on to phase
three clinical trials.
What happened with vasogen, which was a pharmaceutical that
kind of worked similarly withcreating ozonides, but what
happened was they made theirindication for this

(07:38):
pharmaceutical as heart failurepatients and they claimed that
you could reverse heart damagewith ozone.
So they were able to prove inphase one that ozone was
effective and ozone was safe andthere was no problems with
ozone.
But while they were in phasetwo, the investors pulled out

(08:01):
because FDA thought their claimsthat, you know, reversing heart
damage was really hard to prove.
So when they didn't have theinvestors, they just stopped and
they never moved on to phasethree, but they did prove that
ozone was safe.
Okay, they were trying to provethat ozone cured heart disease
and made their clinicalindication of treatment Just

(08:25):
something that was really hardto prove, but if you look at
their phases, they did pass byshowing that ozone was safe and
effective.
There was also a 2006 study thatlooked at 5 million treatments
of ozone therapy that was givenby 644 physicians, and this is

(08:47):
stated in the Ozone Congress.
There were 384,000 patientsthat received these 5 million
treatments and there was zerodeaths.
Nobody died.
There were 40.
This is 40 out of 5 millionthat had adverse effects.
None of them were even fromozone.
When they did the root causeanalysis, it showed that 40

(09:09):
people did have adverse effectsto the anticoagulation that is
used, not to the ozone itself.
You know there'santicoagulation heparin is what
I use.
That's used to prevent theblood from clotting during your
treatment but they have foundthat ozone is as safe as aspirin
.
So what makes ozone therapy sopowerful?

(09:31):
Though, to understand that, weneed to look at what ozone does
to the body at a cellular level.
So ozone works by introducingoxidative stress into the body,
which might soundcounterintuitive, since we
usually think of oxidativestress as a harmful thing.
But in controlled doses, ozonestimulates the body's

(09:51):
antioxidant systems, which thenwork to neutralize harmful free
radicals and restore balance.
This triggers a whole cascadeof beneficial reactions.
The four top ones number one isenhanced oxygenation of tissues
.
Ozone increases the oxygencarrying capacity of red blood
cells, delivering more oxygen totissues that may be deprived.

(10:13):
So you may even compare this tohyperbaric therapy.
Same concept, right?
And that is FDA approved.
Number two is cellularregeneration.
So ozone therapy helps repairdamaged cells and promotes the
growth of healthy, functioningcells.
The third one isanti-inflammatory effects.

(10:34):
So by modulating that immunesystem, ozone helps reduce
chronic inflammation, which is ahallmark of many chronic
diseases.
And number four is the immunesystem boosting.
So ozone stimulates the immunesystem by increasing the
production of white blood cellsand encouraging the release of
cytokines, which play a crucialrole in fighting infections and

(10:56):
inflammation.
But how does it do this?
Right, that's a lot, that's abig, that's a big claim.
But let's geek out a little bit.
So ozone immediately reacts toyour ions and biomolecules.
These are antioxidants,proteins, carbs.
Ions and biomolecules these areantioxidants, proteins, carbs.

(11:17):
This whole process produces ROS, or reactive oxygen species,
and LOPs, lipid oxidationproducts.
This causes a hormetic responsetherapy.
Once the ozone gas mixes withyour plasma, the ozone is no
longer a gas, it turns toozonides.
So the functional or notfunctional, we'll say the
fundamental molecule is H2O2.

(11:39):
And the influx of thesemolecules.
That's where the magic happens.
This is where we balance yourbiological systems.
So, in simple terms, the oxygenwe need to survive is made up
of two oxygen atoms O2.
And ozone is made of threeoxygen atoms O3.
So when medical ozone interactswith different fluids in your

(12:03):
body, that third oxygen atomhitches a ride like a little
Uber to ride on other moleculesand that causes that huge
oxygenation.
Your mitochondria those are thelittle guys that power your
cells.
They thrive on oxygen.
The better your mitochondriacan access and convert oxygen

(12:24):
into energy for your cells, thehealthier you will be overall.
Most people don't know howimportant oxygen is to the
health of your entire body.
But I want you to do this.
Hold your breath.
Yeah, hold your breath too longand you're going to die.
So hopefully we have thatlittle nugget of common sense.

(12:45):
But not everybody understandsthe extent of oxygen's
importance for your cells.
While good oxygenation of ourbody allows our cells to produce
energy, a lack of oxygennurtures an environment for
chronic diseases.
Take cancer, for example.
It grows in an anaerobic state.
You do not need oxygen forcancer to grow.

(13:06):
You can have ozone therapiesthat are systemic.
So these are these infusions Ican insufflate rectums or even
vaginas.
There's also local treatmentsthat I'm not even covering in
this podcast, but if that issomething you are interested in,
we can discuss that at yourconsultation.
But if you're wondering, is thisright for me?
I'm going to say that this isgood for almost everybody.

(13:29):
It could be good for everybody, but particularly individuals
dealing with chronic conditionslike autoimmune diseases, which
that is what I come across a lotin my functional medicine
practice.
So autoimmune diseases likerheumatoid arthritis, lupus, any
autoimmune label, anybody withchronic pain, so it could be

(13:50):
arthritis, fibromyalgia, if youhave fatigue and low energy, if
you have chronic fatiguesyndrome or you've had long
COVID, if you have cognitivedecline or just that brain fog,
if you have detoxification needs, if you have heavy metal
toxicity or if you have moldexposure or infections,

(14:10):
especially those that areantibiotic resistance.
Or maybe you just consideryourself healthy already but you
want to stay that way.
Don't leave room for illness.
This is a great anti-agingtreatment.
I was able to findevidence-based research on ozone
therapy during my research andduring my certification and came
across different lists of levelA, b and C scientific evidence

(14:33):
that was suggesting the clinicalbenefits provided by ozone were
good, and I'm just going toread these off to you of the
ones that I was able to confirmokay, level A was spinal
diseases.
Level B was orthopedic diseasesand localized osteoarthritis.
Painful disorders ofmusculoskeletal soft tissue,

(14:55):
patellar chondromalacia,tendinopathies like tennis elbow
, jumper's knee, painfulshoulder, rotator cuff
tendinopathy, quervains,tenosynovitis, carpal tunnel,
diabetes, diabetic foot, chronicfatigue syndrome and
fibromyalgia.
Sudden sensory, neural hearingloss, meniere's disease,

(15:20):
advanced ischemic diseases likelower limb arterial ischemia yes
, there's proof about thatAge-related macular degeneration
, cavities, dental caries, lesion, osteomyelitis, pleural
emphysema, abscesses withfistulas, infected wounds, bed
sores, chronic ulcers, burns, acute and chronic infectious

(15:42):
diseases, especially thosecaused by bacteria resistant to
antibiotics or to chemicaltreatments.
Viruses, fungicosis, giardia, vaginal yeast, athlete's foot.
Level C were cancer-relatedfatigue.

(16:14):
It really improved quality oflife in cancer patients.
It was also used as an adjuvantradiotherapy and chemotherapy
for cancer patients.
Asthma, autoimmune diseases,that's, multiple sclerosis,
rheumatoid arthritis, crohn's,chronic inflammatory bowel
disease, emphysema, copd,idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

(16:38):
and acute respiratory diseasesyndrome, Skin diseases like
psoriasis, eczema and atopicdermatitis, sepsis, severe
sepsis and multiple organdysfunction, necrotizing
fasciitis, peritonitis, burns,maxillary infections, supertive

(16:59):
otitis media, tonsillitis,frontal sinusitis, cystitis,
tuberculosis, bronchitis,respiratory failure, pleural
emphysema, rhinosinusitis,gallbladder disease, peptic
ulcers, gastrointestinalhemorrhage, diabetic retinopathy
, dry eye syndrome, age-relatedmacular degeneration, dry eye

(17:27):
syndrome, age-related maculardegeneration, chronic glaucoma,
nervous system disorders, evenincluding alcohol, withdrawal,
fibromyalgia, metatarsalgia, migraines I'm not even going to
go over the pregnancy ones, because I will not offer this to
pregnant people but vasculardiseases, ischemic heart disease
, cancer, metastasis orrefractory cancer, metastasis,

(17:48):
hemorrhagic radiation, proctitis, prostatic hyperplasia, raynaud
syndrome, chronic liver disease, hepatitis A, b and C and
cirrhosis, people with thyroidnodules, senile dementia, nc and
cirrhosis, people with thyroidnodules, senile dementia,
alzheimer's,hypercholesterolemia, lymphedema

(18:13):
, hemorrhoids, proctitis,constipation, multiple sclerosis
, chronic pelvic inflammationand recurrent vulvovaginitis.
So wow, right, I just had ascene in my head of Star Wars
with all of this text justscrolling by.
And it is important to notethat these indications do not
encapsulate the full scope ofozone therapy in practice.
You know, clinical expertiseand anecdotes venture far beyond
this indications.

(18:34):
But these are all of the levelA, b and C scientific evidence
that is published to show thatozone therapy is beneficial.
Evidence that is published toshow that ozone therapy is
beneficial.
That is quite a lot, and thisis very heavily studied and
researched, not like witchcraft.
So if any of those soundedfamiliar to you, then you might

(18:56):
be a good candidate for ozonetherapy.
I am so thrilled to announcethat I will be offering ozone
auto-hemotherapy starting in Mayat Harmony Hub Health.
This will be in person atMonarch Beauty and Spa.
I have seen the tremendousimpact it's had on patients
around the world and I'm excitedto bring this innovative
treatment to my community.

(19:16):
So, you know, by bringing ozoneinfusion therapy into my
practice at Harmony Hub Health,I want to be committed to
providing treatments that gobeyond symptom management and
aiming to restore balance, enhance healing and promote
optimal well-being.
And I'm just going to walkthrough the process of how I'm
going to do these infusions.

(19:37):
So you know, before starting anytype of IV ozone therapy, we
would conduct a thoroughpretreatment assessment.
So a good consultation toensure that you're a suitable
candidate for ozone and tocustomize the protocol for you.
We would go over medicalhistory.
I want to assess for anyhistory of respiratory issues or

(19:58):
recent surgeries or make sureyou're not pregnant, and take
some vital signs.
I will take blood pressure, heart rate and even temperature.
We would consider any type oflab testing that might be
appropriate if needed, toevaluate oxidative stress,
inflammation markers, immunefunction or heavy metals.
You know anything that we maydiscover that you may want

(20:19):
checked.
First We'll go over yourallergies to ensure that you
don't have any knownsensitivities to ozone or any of
its effects, and really go overany of your medications to
evaluate current medications toavoid interactions with ozone
therapy and then I will makeyour protocol.
There's different protocolsbased on if you're having an

(20:39):
acute condition like acute pain, acute inflammation or
infections, or if you havechronic conditions of autoimmune
or fatigue or brain fog or evenlong.
Covid has its own protocol thatI have designed, and then I
would come up with how muchgamma I want to give you during
your treatment.
I do like to start low or,depending on your indication

(21:02):
there are different protocolsthat I've come up with for
pretty much everybody.
And you would come in.
I would place an IV in yourvein, I would give your veins a
little drink of saline and thenI add a little bit of a blood
thinner to the bag so there's noclotting, and I let out some
blood from your IV into the bag.

(21:22):
It's going to be a very closedsystem.
I use pure oxygen and an ozonegenerator to make ozone gas and
then I mix that gas with yourblood to make those ozonides and
then I give your blood back toyou.
So there are usually no sideeffects whatsoever.
But you can have the Herxheimerreaction.
That can happen when there'sdying off of toxins.

(21:44):
But that again is somethingthat we'll talk about and if you
are one of those people at risk, we would make sure that we can
mitigate that having anyuncomfortable symptoms.
And then you would kind of hangout with me after you're done.
The whole process probably willtake about an hour, but I'd
want to observe you for at least30 minutes to make sure that if

(22:04):
you do have any side effectsthey resolve quickly, which they
should.
If you do have any, most peopleI would say 98% have zero side
effects during treatment.
It are just those acuteillnesses or people that have
acute infections that can getthat Herxmiller reaction and

(22:24):
that would be Herxheimerreaction.
That could be kind of like.
You know you go to get a verydeep tissue massage and they
tell you to drink plenty ofwater to help you flush out
those toxins that you'rereleasing into your system.
Same thing with ozone therapy.
You may opt for me just to hanganother big bag of saline to
flush everything through to giveyou a good head start.

(22:48):
And while the ozone is powerfulon its own, integrating it with
complementary therapies can alsoenhance the efficacy.
So you may want to combineozone therapy with high-dose
vitamin C or glutathione or NACcan support your body's
detoxification system andmitigate that oxidative effects

(23:08):
of ozone.
You might want someelectrolytes because of the add
on an infusion of electrolytes,or even B vitamins to replenish
energy stores and support yourmitochondrial function.
You can even pair it withimmune boosting infusions or the
tri-immune shot to enhance yourimmune system's response.

(23:29):
That would be especially inpatients with chronic infections
or autoimmune conditions.
So, as with any therapy, ozonetherapy does have
contraindications and thosepotential risks.
Ozone is an oxidizing agent andwhile it is beneficial in
controlled doses, it has to beadministered carefully.
So contraindications for me notthat it's for everybody is

(23:54):
going to be pregnancy andbreastfeeding.
There's no studies to confirmsafety.
There's a lot of clinics thattarget and treat pregnant and
breastfeeding women.
I no studies to confirm safety.
There's a lot of clinics thattarget and treat pregnant and
breastfeeding women.
I'm just not one of them.
History of respiratory disorderslike COPD and emphysema, and
it's not dangerous for that.
Those people can actually usethis increased oxygen.

(24:14):
There is just always in a lotof clinics that risk of exposing
the lungs to straight ozone, which your lungs don't have a
protective barrier, and youreally should not be inhaling
the gas for long periods of timebecause it can cause some harm.
That's why I use a completelyclosed system and I even have

(24:37):
what's called a destor todestroy any ozone so it does not
go out into the air.
So that is something that wewould discuss in your
consultation.
Anybody that had a really recentmajor surgery, especially at
the chest or the abdomen.
If you have a thyroid conditionof like hyperthyroidism, we
would have to have a really longchat because it can affect your

(25:00):
thyroid functioning.
If you have any type ofuncontrolled cardiovascular
disease, like you just had arecent heart attack or severe
heart arrhythmias, or if you'reon blood thinners that's a
contraindication for me or ifyour platelets are really low or
you have just poorly treatedanemia or if you have G6PD

(25:23):
deficiency, because that couldcause really big fatigue and
exhaustion if you know that youalready have that.
So it is very important to havea skilled practitioner who
understands the nuances of ozonetherapy to ensure patient
safety and the best results.
And then we'll talk about, youknow, after treatment
recommendations like making sureyou're hydrating to flush out

(25:44):
any oxidative waste products.
You're going to want to rest.
Ozone therapy can increaseenergy levels, but it can also
cause temporary fatigue just byall the work that it's doing.
So no strenuous exercise for 24to 48 hours to allow your body
to fully recover and processthat ozone.
And then, you know, adding inantioxidant rich foods like

(26:05):
berries and leafy greens tosupport your body's natural
healing mechanisms.
So IV ozone therapy is apowerful tool If you're looking
to enhance your health, detoxify, manage chronic conditions or
boost your immune system.
As part of your functionalmedicine journey, ozone therapy
can be a large component toaddressing root cause and

(26:27):
achieving long-term wellness.
At Harmony Hub Health, I amthrilled to offer this
groundbreaking therapy startingin May.
Whether you're battling chronicfatigue, struggling with
lingering effects of long COVIDor you have those autoimmune
labels, ozone therapy can helpyou on your path to healing.
You can contact me atHarmonyHubHealthcom, you can

Monarch Beauty and Spa here inManchester, maryland, to learn
more about how IV ozone therapycan support your wellness
journey.
I would love to talk with youin a good consultation.
And just a disclaimer beforestarting any ozone therapy or

(27:16):
auto-hemotherapy treatment, itis essential to consult with a
qualified healthcareprofessional.
