In our society where everyone is so obsessed with dieting, we have already come to a point where we cannot think about eating without overthinking what it would do with our body weight. This is removing all the joy in eating, making us forget that food is something that is supposed to be holistically nourishing.
But the rather ironic part is that while we are doing this, thinking that we are doing it in service of our weight, what it in fact does is the exact opposite—it only ever ignites our desire to soothe with food.
This is why I felt the need to talk about the art of mindful eating. Because here in Health Bite, we believe that having a good relationship with food is really what matters the most.
So come and join me in this week’s podcast as I talk to you about mindful eating and how you can do it in simple yet proven effective ways.
What you will learn from this episode:
“Seriously, think about that – how our total obsession with our weight and diet and dieting and making food synonymous with the number on the scale has completely removed the joy of eating and the value of food as something that nourishes us wholeheartedly—mind, body, and soul.” – Dr. Adrienne Youdim
