Norzagaray girl, welcome to theshow.
Veronica Norzagaray (01:25):
Yay.
Thank you so much for having me.
I'm so excited to be doing thispodcast with you.
It's my very first time doing apodcast and I feel so blessed to
have met you and have you in mylife because I just feel like
you are such a beautiful personand I'm just, I'm so happy to
have met you and I just can'twait.
Theresa Cesare (01:41):
I can't wait to
spend more time with you.
I love it and I just love you.
It's an honor to have you onthis show.
I am so excited for all theincredible things we're going to
be doing together and yes,audience.
Y'all are in for a great treat.
I want to open it up with yourstory, how you became who you
are today, the beautiful founderof this beautiful boutique.
Veronica Norzagaray (02:03):
So I'm a
Tucson native.
I, I always say I was born andraised on the South side, so I'm
a little gangster.
Um, I'm like, I'm a whole lot ofuniverse, a
Theresa Cesare (02:12):
little bit of
gangster.
Veronica Norzagaray (02:14):
Is too
funny.
Um, well, I, so I'm a singlemom.
I raised four babies on my own.
And when I say single mom, Imean like their biological has
not been in their life for 17years and my youngest is 18.
so I have raised four childrenof my own and I retired from the
military last year.
Actually, one December of 2023was my, was my retirement date.
(02:36):
So it's almost a year to thedate.
and I always said I worked waytoo hard for the government to
not work for myself.
So I knew when I retired, Iwanted to do something that I
would be passionate about, and Iwould love, and I would wake up
every morning and just reallyenjoy what I was doing.
And I've just always lovedfashion and, You know, I do all
the hair and makeup andeverything that I just, that's
(02:58):
always been me.
And so this was just like theperfect thing for me, but it
hasn't just been about like theboutique so much.
It's more about the people thatare in my life.
The, the women I've met likeyourself that are just beautiful
and powerful and inspiring.
Inspiring.
So to me, that's been a wholeblessing because it's a whole
world that I had no idea evenexisted.
So I feel super blessed to bewhere I'm at today.
Theresa Cesare (03:20):
That's
incredible.
Well, I want to say thank youfor your service.
It's incredible.
But those 20 years of service, you know, to keep going right.
How did you stay motivated?
Veronica Norzagaray (03:31):
So as a
single mom, I had bills to pay,
I had children to raise.
Leaving was not an optionbecause I wasn't going to be
able to go anywhere else andmake the same kind of money and
have the same kind of benefitsand the medical and all that
stuff.
So for me, it was just never anoption.
Like I knew I was going tofinish my 20 years and I knew
there was a light at the end ofthe tunnel and I knew there's,
you know, there's benefits.
It's changed a lot now.
(03:52):
So I have like my full pension.
We're now They have to kind ofinvest kind of like a 401k.
So it's a little different now,but I knew for me, there was a
reason to finish, there was agoal at the end and I knew I was
going to have my, my pension.
so even though through all theups and downs.
I still learned a lot from it.
It's definitely helped me growmy business, having the
background, like I was an adminand having the customer service
(04:15):
skills and just learning how to,you know, work in Excel
spreadsheet and learn how to doresearch.
It's really helped me with thebackground in my business.
for the boutique.
So I was, I'm definitelyblessed.
It was, a whole, like a long 24years, but it was worth it at
the end.
It was totally worth it.
Theresa Cesare (04:32):
Well, you
must've started when you were
like 12 girl, because 24 years, there's no way.
And I think it's just powerfulfor those listening.
To honor the process, honorwhere you are now, because if
you look at it as it's astepping stone to get you to
that dream, right?
Like that, you might not evenknow you have that will birth at
the right time.
(04:52):
And it sounds like that's whatthat process.
Veronica Norzagaray (04:55):
Yeah, for
sure.
And it's funny.
I heard somebody the other dayon a podcast.
I think that's.
said, she, got her degree, wentto go work for corporate
America.
And she said, I was just not agood employee.
She said she was a receptionistand she would answer phones and
then transfer the phone call towhoever.
And she's like, why are you notanswering your own phones?
Like, why am I being paid toanswer the phone?
And I think that's how I felt.
I mean, I, I was good at my job,but at the same time, I'm like.
(05:18):
Why am I answering the phonesfor you?
Theresa Cesare (05:20):
Oh my
Veronica Norzagaray (05:20):
gosh.
Theresa Cesare (05:21):
I love that you
said that.
Cause it's like this innerknowing that you're meant for
something more.
Veronica Norzagaray (05:25):
Yes,
exactly.
For sure.
I was very blessed to have thatin my life, but I always wonder
like, well, could I have been?
I've been doing somethingdifferent, something more like
my brother's an entrepreneur andhe is killing it.
And I just, I always think aboutit, like, could I have done
something different with mylife?
But it's okay.
It all worked out for a reason.
And, and we're
Theresa Cesare (05:45):
blessed where
we're at.
So, and you're here now and Ithink it's the perfect timing.
That being said, you're abeautiful boutique, truly
inspire.
Tell us about how you got thename.
Veronica Norzagaray (05:56):
So true me
is I wanted to have a little
piece of myself.
so the name Veronica means trueimage, and it comes from the
Bible story where Jesus wascarrying the cross.
And on his way up, Calvary, he,he stops and a woman gives him a
cloth so that she can, so thathe can wipe his sweat off.
(06:17):
And when he returns the cloth toher, it's his images like on the
cloth.
And so that's where the nameVeronica, the meaning came a
true image.
was associated to the nameVeronica.
And, so true me is like trueimage.
And now though, thinking aboutit, I like the name even means
so much more.
Cause I really feel like I'mwhere I'm meant to be.
(06:37):
So true me, I really being trueto myself.
I'm in my space.
It's just like, this is Me, itjust feels like I'm in the right
space and then inspire isbecause I really want to inspire
women to feel feminine andpowerful and not try to get into
like the societal norms, likewhere women can't be feminine
because they're looked atdifferently.
(06:58):
Like I want you to be strong.
Intelligent and feminine all atthe same time and just be
confident about it.
I love that
Theresa Cesare (07:07):
backstory with
so much meaning.
Well, I could feel the energy ofyour title and of your boutique.
Like it's just felt.
And so to know the backstory isjust so powerful.
So tell us about what yourmission is.
Veronica Norzagaray (07:20):
So my
mission is to inspire women to
be feminine and powerful.
Like that's it simple.
Theresa Cesare (07:27):
I feel it.
I feel the mission.
I feel it.
All right.
So you are in this powerfulbusiness group called BNI.
It's, women and men.
How has this association beenvery pivotal on your journey as
a female entrepreneur?
Veronica Norzagaray (07:41):
So BNI is
Business Networking
International.
It's the largest referralnetworking group in the world.
So there's chapters all across, all across the world.
And the way I learned about itis because my boyfriend went to
a chiropractor and he wastalking about me starting a
boutique and they told him, Oh,have her look into BNI.
So I did my research and I said, yes, I want to be a part of
(08:02):
this.
But the magic happened when Iactually walked into my first
meeting.
I am part of six figure successand we meet here in Oro Valley.
and the first time I walked in,I just felt all this energy in
the room.
And I knew that's where Ibelonged.
I knew those were my people.
And it has been such a blessingbecause I have learned so much,
not just about networking, butmarketing.
(08:23):
And I built like theserelationships and friendships
with people that have reallylike, they really want to see
you grow.
They are really there to supporteverybody.
And the nice thing about it isthere can only be one, category
per industry.
So there's only like one bakerand, I'm the only person selling
clothing.
There's only one realtor, onehome loan officer.
(08:45):
So it makes it really nicebecause there's not really that
sense of competition.
It's more of a sense of fun.
Like just kind of joining forcesand building each other up and
building each other's businessesand watching everybody grow at
the same time.
It's so magical and so powerful.
I really want you to come visitsoon.
Theresa Cesare (09:01):
Oh my gosh.
I'm so excited to come visit.
It's in my neighborhood.
So I'm definitely meant to popin.
This is my hood.
You know what it reminds me ofthough, that whole story, like
you, you set an intention and Italk about this.
Um, podcast and just in the workthat I do, the minute you decide
something you declared, I'mgoing to do this, open up a
business.
And the minute you did thisenergetic forces came in
(09:24):
aligning to support you.
It's so powerful
Veronica Norzagaray (09:28):
It is and I
believe that too.
I feel like you put it out intothe universe and you make it
happen So yes, it's justeverything has been happening I
mean like the fashion showswe've been invited to and I mean
meeting you and being on yourpodcast Like it has definitely
been a blessing it's opened somany doors and it's just also
helped me build like so manystronger relationships with
women because You You know, mywhole life I was like a mom and
(09:50):
so it was always the kids andthe kids and you know how it is
because they're younger and youhave sports and you have
birthday parties and you'resuper busy, but now I finally,
like I said, the name true me.
I'm finally in my own space.
Like I get to pick who's in mycircle, who walks through my
door, what room I walk into mycommunity.
Like I get to pick my community, which not so much in the
military.
So doing this has definitely,um, it's just been such a
(10:12):
blessing.
Honestly.
I love that.
Theresa Cesare (10:14):
Like you said, I
get to pick and we do, we can
decide the vibe we want to callin.
And you were going to answer tomy prayer too.
I said an intention where I waslike, Community and connection
show me who, and then literallylike Dan connected us.
I was like, Oh my God, that's soinspiring.
So tell us
Veronica Norzagaray (10:34):
about
fashion fusion.
So fashion fusion started withBNI three years ago.
I've only been with BNI oneyear.
So October is my one yearanniversary.
But they started, this will betheir third annual fashion show
fundraiser.
They, so we have a one nonprofitin the room, which is the Rotary
Club of Oro Valley.
(10:55):
And then they select thebeneficiaries for the proceeds
for the fashion show.
The first year they raised 5,000, the second year they raised
10, 000 and our third year, wewould really, of course, look to
surpass the 10, 000.
And the nice thing is the moneystays within like Southern
Arizona.
So, the beneficiaries this yearare springboard home for girls,
(11:15):
which is part of the teamchallenge program.
And, the other one is the.
Rotary vocational program, whichhelps young adults get training
for vocational programs.
I love that.
And when is Fashion Fusion?
So Fashion Fusion is November22nd.
It's at Tohono Chul Park, whichis on Oracle and INA.
And it is at 530 doors open at5.
(11:40):
But it runs from like 530 toeight.
There's going to be, of course, the fashion show.
We have four local boutiques, soit's true me inspire.
We have cabi, we have, apricotlane, and we have desert
Mariposa, and we also have apex, tailoring from Lankan father.
And now he just opened a secondlocation at the foothills mall.
(12:01):
So Suhail will be dressing themen in his amazing suits.
So I'm super excited.
And then I'll be doing theformal gowns.
So yes, so to hold November 22ndfashion fusion.
Five till eight o'clock.
Theresa Cesare (12:14):
What can
everyone expect to experience
like the vibe?
So
Veronica Norzagaray (12:17):
we're going
to have, of course, a DJ, cause
we need some music going.
We have a cash bar.
We have a silent auction.
We still, we are still lookingfor sponsors.
So, they're so cute.
Cause the sponsored titles arelike stiletto or ballgown.
So.
Super cool.
So if we're looking for sponsorsfor sure and silent auction
donations, just anything tohelp.
And again, this is like acommunity event.
(12:38):
We have so many amazing models.
I mean, did you hear Dan Marysis going to model for us?
She's like my favorite anchorever.
And then of course, you're goingto be one of her fabulous
models.
I'm so excited, but we have somany other like local, I want to
call them local celebrities, butalso, we have like the or
(13:02):
valley.
PD, the new chief.
We have a firefighter from theOro Valley Fire Department.
We have a councilman that'sgoing to model for us.
So we have a lot of people whoare big in the community, either
making a difference, starting abusiness, or just involved in
just making the community asafer and better place.
Oh, and Dominic, if you knowDominic Ortega.
(13:23):
Oh, I love him.
He is going to model for us.
I'm so excited because he's justa total Tucson celebrity on his
own.
He is.
And I love it because hecaptures everyone else,
Theresa Cesare (13:32):
but
Veronica Norzagaray (13:33):
he's
Theresa Cesare (13:33):
incredible.
We're going to capture him onthe stage, which, yeah.
Veronica Norzagaray (13:36):
I know.
And he's so funny because he'slike, well, I'm going to have my
camera on the runway.
And I'm like, no, you cannothave your camera on the runway.
His signature look.
He's going to take it.
His camera.
Theresa Cesare (13:45):
I am so excited.
Oh, well, I am so honored to beinvited to walk in this fashion
show.
I'm so excited to like wear oneof your beautiful gowns and to
be styled by you.
So it's going to be so exciting.
So y'all listeners, I'm going todrop the link one for the show
tickets.
Two, if you want to be asponsor, do you want to be a
stiletto?
Do you want to be a couture orwhatever the titles are?
(14:09):
So anything else that you wantto mention about the fashion
fusion fashion show that'scoming up November 22nd,
anything else?
Veronica Norzagaray (14:18):
This year
we're having VIP seating.
So if you get your ticketsearly, you can do front row
seating for the fashion show.
And just come bring a friend.
It's going to be beautifulbecause it is at the beautiful
Tohono
Theresa Cesare (14:29):
so now that we
know about the fashion show
coming up, would you like totell the listeners how we can
find your boutique and startshopping like today?
Veronica Norzagaray (14:38):
So, so of
course, true me, inspire is
online at true me, inspire.
com.
And starting next week, I'mgoing to, well, before this
podcast airs, we're going tostart actually opening during
the week.
So I've never done that before.
It's always been by appointment, but now I'm going to have.
different hours throughout theweek.
So I'll post like every Sundaywhat the hours will be or the
(14:59):
Saturday with the hours will befor the following week.
So I'm super excited to givethat a try.
Cause I had a few clients askme, well, can you just be open
during certain hours instead ofmaking a private appointment?
Cause it just sometimes makes iteasier and I completely
understand.
So, so yes, you can, um, find meon Facebook.
On Instagram, I'm working on mytech talks and then, um, the
website, of course, true me.
(15:20):
Inspire is our, all the handlesand true me, inspired.
com.
Theresa Cesare (15:24):
Awesome.
And I will drop that in the shownotes as well.
I love your boutique and I can'twait to keep shopping We're
going to pivot now to theclosing questions per tradition.
The first one, Veronica, what isyour favorite book?
Veronica Norzagaray (15:37):
Okay.
So my favorite book, I've beenobsessed with, like business
books, right?
So my favorite business book isprofit first and it just really
helps you, learn how to manageyour finances for your business.
So I love profit first.
I highly recommend to anybodywho's starting a business or who
is still in the beginning stagesof business.
But I also just started readingeight rules of love and I'm
(15:58):
loving it.
I mean, it's stuff like wealready know, but we need to
hear it again, like how to loveyourself and how to, you know,
Love others and understandingjust, just all the stages of
love or all the different typesof love.
And I'm totally, yeah, I juststarted that book, but I'm super
excited for it.
Theresa Cesare (16:13):
Oh my gosh.
Thank you for thoserecommendations.
I am getting those like ASAPbecause I love reading and
listening to books.
So yay.
Okay.
Second question.
What is your favoriteaffirmation that keeps you
motivated and inspired?
Veronica Norzagaray (16:25):
When my
kids were babies and you know,
we had it, it was, we struggleda little bit, but I always
remember thinking to myself, itcould always be worse.
It could always be worse.
So not that that's anaffirmation, but I guess the
affirmation would be like, Godhas a plan.
And I know like, God has a planfor me and everything is going
to work out.
Everything's going to be fine.
And I was looking at your, yourjournal, which I absolutely
(16:46):
love.
And there was one that was inhere.
I was just like this one, reallylike resonated with me.
It says I accept and bless mycircumstances.
And I love that.
Theresa Cesare (16:56):
I know I, that
one gives me goosebumps.
And thank you for getting thejournal.
I love it.
All right.
And then the last question, whatdo you want to be known for your
legacy?
Veronica Norzagaray (17:10):
My legacy.
Okay.
Of course, family first.
I always want my kids to knowthat they come first.
They are my loves.
I would do anything for them andI want them to know that,
always, family is always firstfor me.
So family first, my children, but I also want to inspire
women.
I want, women to say like, Oh, Imet her and she just like, made
me feel, special I want peopleto remember me for my energy,
(17:33):
for, helping them just feelinspired, helping them feel
special of helping them find thelight.
