(00:32):
Hello, my amazing listeners.
I'm so glad you're here.
Thank you so much for joiningthis episode in which I'm so
excited to be recirculating apowerful conversation I first
had with Annette Mariel yearsago on this podcast, and where
we dove into two guidingprinciples that shape our lives,
(00:52):
and that is the power of beliefand making excellence your
brand.
Now, why are these principles soimportant?
Well, belief is the foundationof transformation.
We don't become what we want, what we wish for, we become what
we believe.
If you believe you're worthy ofjoy, happiness, and success, and
(01:13):
you take responsibility forcreating it, you'll act in ways
that make those things areality.
For example, someone who trulybelieves in their value will
attract opportunities that arehigh level supportive and
healthy relationships and newpossibilities.
But if you carry limitingbeliefs like feeling unworthy or
fearing failure, those canunconsciously block abundance or
(01:37):
connection even if you so deeplydesire those.
Our beliefs act as magnets, drawing in people and
experiences that reflect who weare inside.
That's why one of my favoritemodalities are daily
affirmations to help me withreprogramming beliefs that are
not serving me.
And I've created a tool which isthe affirmation deck in which
(02:01):
allows you to make it part ofyour daily practice or ritual.
My affirmation deck helps meask, what do I need to believe
today?
And each card offers a chance toreframe.
Reset and step boldly into a newversion of myself, think and
feel and believe new things sothat I can attract that next
(02:23):
level of myself.
And it's so powerful.
I don't plug into my phone firstthing.
I don't plug into my fears Iplug into my deck and it is
transformational.
And so because you are alistener of this podcast, you
get 15% off my affirmationdecks.

Alright.
Circling back into the episode,so we talked about belief is the
foundation of transformation andthe other guiding principle that
is so powerful that, and Annetteand I talk about on the episode
is, excellence, and so choosingexcellence, you know, is not
(03:07):
about chasing perfection, butit's setting a standard that
allows you to really holdyourself to a level in
accountability that truly isinfectious.
It's about showing up.
Your best, regardless of the jobyou have, the relationships or
circumstances, it's about beingintentional, infusing everything
you do with your highest levelof care and authenticity,
(03:31):
Annette and I talk about on theepisode and that we live out
every day.
It is, we make excellence, ourbrand I am so excited to just
bring Annette Mariel back ontothe show she's a leader who
lives out these principles everyday.
a little bit more about Annette.
She is a certified holisticnutrition consultant, hormone
(03:52):
balance specialist, speaker andbestselling co-author.
As the creator of the SexyHormones Method, she empowers
women to balance hormones, reclaim radiance, and embody
their most magnetic selves.
Through her master classes andcoaching, Annette integrates
wellness, beauty, andperformance, so women can thrive
(04:13):
in every part of their life andbusiness.
Friends, I am so excited tobring to you my powerful
conversation I had with Annetteon the power of Belief and how
to make excellence your brand sothat you can live out your most
magnetic and empowered lifeever.
Let's get started.
Annette Mariel (04:35):
If you think
about it, you know, usually
people don't come up to you andask you, what do you believe
they usually ask you, what doyou do for a living they usually
ask you, very surface levelquestions.
I think it's rare for people toask these deeper questions
unless you are in a communitythat, thinks that way, you know,
(04:58):
just naturally ask these type ofquestions like you and I, we dig
deeper and we go for the soullevel questions.
So it's something that we don'treally think about on a daily,
we think about what our careershould be.
We think about, where we shouldbe living.
(05:18):
We think about all those things, but we, we usually are not
challenged on our belief system.
And, it's very powerful to knowwhat you believe, because then
you have a direction.
And you're not easily swayed.
When people come into your life, you're not easily swayed off
(05:40):
that path.
It's very hard for people to,manipulate you.
It's very hard for them to have, malicious intent for you to go
in that direction.
And usually you can spot it.
Theresa (05:54):
I had realized we just
are like on autopilot with their
beliefs.
So give yourself the permission.
Right.
Create your core belief system.
And it's everyday working, it'sa process.
That's an editing process.
Like for me, I feel like I'mstill constructing what I
believe
Annette Mariel (06:12):
the lifelong
process.
I don't think, you wake up oneday, you knowing, all your
beliefs, because, you know, aswe go through life, we go
through different experiences, which shape our beliefs.
So we can add and take away asmuch as we want.
Beliefs are so importantbecause.
(06:38):
They frame your choices of theday and your choices create your
future.
So if you believe that you are aperson that is a successful
person, you believe that you'redestined for success.
You're going to make choicesthat are in alignment.
(06:59):
With success.
You're going to make that, thatcreate that future that you
want.
Versus if you don't believe thatat your core, you may want
success, but you're not going tomake the choices that will
(07:20):
ultimately give you that future.
Theresa (07:24):
Yes.
I love that.
I feel like your beliefs arelike your life blueprint, right.
What you believe about yourselfto be true and then the world,
Annette Mariel (07:33):
I mean, you can
apply that, what you believe
about money, what you believeabout, every part of your life,
that's going to shape who youare.
And so the way you start to.
Look at your beliefs and todetermine if they're in favor
for your highest good or not isif they bring you peace.
(07:54):
And if they don't, if you're notpeaceful, when you think about
some of your beliefs, then thatis not your belief.
That is a belief that was, givento you, probably unintentional.
Yeah, and this is not a blaming.
This is not blaming the world, afamily or anything.
(08:17):
we find our power when we takecontrol of our life, and that is
taking control over ourdecisions, and taking
responsibility over ourdecisions.
So if in the past you madedecisions that were not in favor
for your highest good forgiveyourself.
That's okay.
Because you find your power in,taking responsibility because
(08:40):
now you see, you know, that youcan easily change them.
You can easily, choose anotherbelief.
And if you keep on saying, oh,no, this is just me.
This is just the way I am.
Well, you're just going tocontinue that pattern for a
week, change the way you speak, change the words that come out
(09:02):
of your mouth, change, how youspeak to others.
That's going to start rewiringyour belief in whatever area you
want to rewire.
And it's everyone'sresponsibility to do this
because when we are all acting.
in favor of our highest good, wehave the power to do more good
(09:26):
in this world.
And it's quite selfish.
I think not to do that becausewe are falling victim to our
excuses and our excuses aremaking us.
Then help our family, ourcommunity, the world, the way we
want to.
(09:47):
And it all starts with you andthat's cliche, but it's true.
It's very true.
It all starts with each one ofus.
There's no way that this world,is going to find peace unless
more people take responsibilityover their happiness.
And they don't put it on someoneelse and then can you imagine
(10:12):
these full people that are fullall on their own come together?
It's, like, um, superpowerscoming together and it's quite
amazing when you're aroundpeople who take responsibility
and, Don't shift the blame onother people who want to do good
(10:33):
in this world.
Theresa (10:35):
Any other tips that you
have to go on the path of
creating a belief system that isin your favor that empowers
Annette Mariel (10:44):
I just heard
this recently from Oprah,
actually, she said, shoot forexcellence, make excellence your
brand.
I love that.
That resonated so much with mebecause.
You know, everyone is talkingabout brands, do you have a
brand?
what do you do?
And what's your brand.
(11:05):
It's very popular now becausewe're in this digital world.
Everyone's online and justbelieving in excellence in
everything you do, like shootingfor excellence, even when no one
is watching.
You become impactful andmemorable, whatever job you are
(11:28):
in, you impact the people that,go to wherever you work, show up
strong and you become memorable.
Then you open yourself up tomore opportunity because you're
excellent.
You're shooting for excellence.
You're probably going to getthat, promotion.
(11:49):
but in everything you do, evenif you think no one is watching,
be excellent in it, shoot forthat.
because that's who you are.
I love that person who does goodin everything that you do and
you just don't take the backseat.
You take the driver.
And so to kind of close thatconcept out, that's how you
(12:14):
start.
Like, if you don't know where tostart, so if you're in a job,
you don't like.
And you don't know how to getout of it.
all you have to do is show upand be excellent.
It's going to start shiftingeverything you may stay there.
You may not, but that's all youhave to do show up and be the
(12:36):
best version of you.
You can.
In that moment and the next day, again, the best version of you
and.
By me saying, being the bestversion.
It's not me saying I'm shootingfor perfection, not at all.
It's actually really, beautifulto shoot for the stars and be
(12:59):
okay with imperfection and it'sokay to move forward and make
mistakes and just continuemoving forward.
The best of the best still makemistakes.
And what, determines yoursuccess is how long you stay
down in the dumps because ofthat mistake and who knows.
(13:23):
It probably is not even amistake.
It's just a learning moment andthe faster you're just able to
move forward.
you gain more traction, so shootfor excellence.
You know, look at what youbelieve in, in the world, in all
these categories and feel intoyour body.
(13:44):
If it brings you peace, thenthat's great.
If it doesn't then, you know, you have some homework to do and
some, beliefs to shift.
Theresa (13:57):
That's the beautiful
tip on that.
Well, thank you again.
you always inspire me and I'mgoing to be actually telling
myself that shoot for excellencedoesn't mean perfection, when
you do that, you know, you'vedone your best So I have three
ending questions to ask you thefirst one.
What is your favorite podcastbesides heart to talk?
Annette Mariel (14:22):
It's hard to
talk.
It's incredible.
So I would say my favoritepodcast is.
The school of greatness by Lewishouse.
He's been on for awhile, butwhenever I want to just kind of
get inspired and re-ignite, ifI'm on a long drive, uh, you
know, just listen to a podcastthat is going to take up the
(14:47):
time of that drive that two hourdrive or whatever.
I always go to, to Lewis, Howesand listen.
And he always has incredible.
On actually met him a few yearsago.
And so I, the school ofgreatness is definitely a great
podcast besides heart to talk.
Yeah.
Theresa (15:05):
Oh, I love that
podcast.
So thanks for sharing.
All right.
Next question.
What's your favorite hormone, tfor our audience
Annette Mariel (15:13):
who, I mean,
there's so many.
so I'm just going to keep itdown to one today.
And it stay away from dairy.
So, as much as possible dairy, even when it's organic, uh, it
naturally has hormones in it.
And especially if you are awoman who experiences a lot of
(15:37):
PMs, you want to stay away fromdairy around that time and it
will significantly decrease yourPMs.
Theresa (15:44):
Oh, that's a great tip.
Oh my gosh.
And I've been staying away fromdairy and I feel it.
So thank you for that tip.
All right.
And last question Annette whatdo you believe
Annette Mariel (15:59):
I have an, I
believe speech that I wrote many
years ago and it still holdstrue to this day.
So I'm going to read it toeveryone.
I believe love is the drivingforce of all creation.
I believe that love isintegrated in everything we do
(16:19):
in all the beauty that we seeinside.
I believe that love is directlylinked to the beauty and passion
that we feel inside.
I believe that passion isderived from love because when
we love something or someone, webuild a fire, a passion with it.
(16:40):
I believe that passion propelsus into a life that allows us to
fulfill our heart's desires.
I believe that passion allows usto have the courage to be
unapologetically ourselves.
I believe that passion is aspice of life.
(17:00):
Passion comes from the heart.
When we find our passion, wefind our destiny.
I believe that passion iscontagious.
And when we live our lives inour unique passion, we inspire
others to find their passion.
What a beautiful world it wouldbe.
(17:21):
If we all follow the path of ourown heart and found our unique
calling through our passion, Ibelieve that passion fosters,
perseverance and courage.
I believe that perseveranceencourage can win you battles in
life that you never evenimagined you could win.
(17:43):
This unbelievable accomplishmentis proceeded in all the stories
of success we hear about it.
Took love, passion, courage, andperseverance to find that great.
I believe that greatness is notjust a gift given to a few, but
(18:06):
a gift given to every singleperson on this planet.
This is the power of our heart.
And when we uncover thetremendous light that shines
from it, we find our greatness.
