Through her business, Strong-Heart Resource Development, that work has included facilitating and consulting with the National Indian Child Welfare Association, the Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health, Georgetown University, The National Child Traumatic Stress Network and participating in the Surgeon Generals Conference on Children’s Mental Health. Shannon has worked with tribal and non tribal communities in creating Systems of Care and Circles of Care utilizing traditional intervention and promotion of culturally congruent practices. Ms CrossBear is a skilled story teller and educator who cements her commitment to improving conditions for future generations through her activities with protecting the fresh water sources, Honoring The Circle. She is co director of International Children Month and an active participant in the WE campaign. She is has been a columnist and has written and produced several short plays.
