Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, it's Laura.
Welcome to your peak of theweek on this special 4th of July
holiday.
So I'm trying not to lose mycool, but I'm going to be really
honest with you.
It is still kind of surrealthat this book, shine Brighter,
(00:21):
is going to be released into theworld in a matter of about
three weeks, and some of you arealready reading a copy, which
just warms my heart.
I have gotten so many messagesfrom those reading this advanced
reader copy that are part of myShine Brighter book launch team
.
I just cannot thank you enough.
(00:43):
You are my supporters and Ijust I am in awe of everything
that's going down, and so let'sget into it.
This is the week's, this week'smessage.
So this week, as we celebrateindependence, I'm thinking about
(01:05):
a different kind of freedom, the kind that comes from finally
listening to that voice.
You know that voice insidethat's been trying to get your
attention.
You know that feeling thatwhispers.
That whispers during yourmorning commute, that tugs at
(01:25):
you during another quarterlyreview, keeps you awake
scrolling your phone.
It's subtle, but it'spersistent.
It's a quiet ache beneathachievements, beneath
performance.
It's a restlessness thatnothing really can shake.
(01:52):
It's like this constant thingthat's in the background.
That feeling it's not a problem.
Think about this.
It's not a problem to be fixed,it's an indicator.
This is an indicator.
This is your inner wisdom, callit instinct, call it God, call
it your higher self, call it,whatever your belief system is.
(02:14):
But this is telling you thatsuccess without soul alignment
will always feel hollow.
So many executives that I workwith tell me something is wrong
with them for feeling this way.
You know I should be grateful.
(02:36):
They say I have everything Iwanted and more.
But here's what I've learnedafter working with so many high
achievers myself one of themYou're not broken, you're just
misaligned.
And that nagging feeling it'snot your enemy, it's your
(03:01):
invitation to declareindependence from a life that
looks good but doesn't actuallyfeel like yours.
So I want to tell you a quickstory about Melissa.
She was a quintessential,high-achieving executive, a
(03:22):
marketing leader at a majorcorporation.
She had the impressive title, she had the recognition, she had
checked all of the traditionalsuccess boxes, but something
wasn't right.
I was struggling with beingfully present with my family,
especially my kids.
She told me Same thing with myjob I was just going through the
(03:44):
motions.
When you do that long enough, you kind of go numb.
Even though I made it to thetop, I still wondered is this it
?
Her reality looked like thisConstant digital tethering to
work even during holidays.
Achievement without fulfillmentor deeper purpose, self-worth
(04:11):
dangerously intertwined with jobtitle and status, that nagging
feeling of inauthenticity.
When Melissa's company announcedit was closing and her position
was being eliminated, she foundherself in what she describes
(04:31):
as panic and loss.
Having tied so much of heridentity to her career, she was
terrified.
But here's where the story getsbeautiful.
Instead of ignoring thatnagging feeling or pushing
through another corporate role, melissa chose to lean into
(04:55):
discomfort.
I repeat, lean into discomfort.
Okay, there's something comingto you right now.
There's something coming to you.
What is it?
What is that asking you?
It's going to be uncomfortable, but this is what Melissa did.
(05:17):
She leaned into it.
She listened to what her soulhad been whispering all along.
Through our work together, shebegan to reconnect with her core
values, reconnect with hernatural gifts that had been
overshadowed by corporatedemands or perhaps just not
(05:43):
really recognized.
We mapped her values across allaspects of life, examined her
beliefs about success anddiscovered a more powerful
version of herself hiddenbeneath workplace expectations.
Many of us are addicted to workhere and when we lose a job or
(06:12):
a title or some sort of status,we lose ourself.
So this is where we have toexamine our beliefs about what
success actually means andredefine what that means.
A pivotal moment came during aholiday break with her family at
(06:36):
their cabin.
For the first time in years, melissa experienced genuine
presence with her family, genuine presence, free from
guilt and the pull of workobligations.
I remember, for the first timein a long time, maybe the first
(07:08):
time since having kids truepresence and overwhelming peace
with the way things were just asthey were In four months.
Four months, melissa's lifetransformed.
For her career, she launched asuccessful marketing consultancy
.
She secured her first strategicproject ahead of her
(07:28):
expectations.
Family deepened presence withchildren.
Family deepened presence withchildren becoming a role model
to her daughters forentrepreneurship Mindset.
(07:50):
She developed the capacity toapproach challenges with
gratitude.
See it another way thesechallenges are an invitation.
These challenges are aninvitation to an elevated
version of you.
She achieved long-termnutrition goals.
She proactively built someadditional, really meaningful
(08:11):
connections, and then theyrestructured some finances.
Meaningful connections, andthen they restructured some
finances.
Now I know not everyone iscalled to this.
I know that.
I know that, but part of why Iget to come into your ears right
now is because you're here, too, for a reason.
(08:31):
You know it.
You absolutely know it too, fora reason, you know it, you
absolutely know it To redefinesuccess in your family, what
that means to your family.
(08:52):
If you want to make a change, there's always a way.
You just need to see it fromanother perspective.
What Melissa discovered, andwhat I see with every client I
am privileged to work with, isthat this nagging feeling, this
is not a bug in your system.
This is a feature.
It is your inner compasspointing you towards a life that
feels as good on the inside asit looks on paper.
(09:15):
Remember, discomfort Yep, thatdiscomfort, yep.
That's not a sign you'refailing.
That's a sign you're ready andI am clapping my hands and I'm
jumping up and down and I'm like, yes, ready to stop performing
and start living like your truenature, who you really are?
(09:40):
Are you ready to buildsomething that honors your
ambition and your soul, something that honors your
ambition and your soul?
Are you ready to show your kidsand yourself what's possible
when you align your actions withyour deepest truth?
I seriously pinch myself that Iget to witness these
(10:01):
transformations.
There's nothing I live for morethan being part of someone's
journey from misalignment tointegration, this integration of
their true soulful self.
(10:22):
If you are listening to this andyou're like, oh my gosh, laura,
I feel so broken.
This is not brokenness, this isvictory.
This is being broken.
This is not.
This is not brokenness.
This is victory.
This is being aware, this is acalling.
You are not alone.
I am here as a woman who talksto so many people, so many
(10:42):
people, so many people.
I am here to tell you you arenot alone.
I am here to tell you you arenot alone If you're feeling the
shift, this quiet, knowingyou're meant for something
different or something more, andyou're finally ready to do
something about it.
Oh my gosh, please, for thelove, please, reach out to me.
(11:05):
This is what I live for.
I want to hear from you.
I mean it.
Text us, go to my website, senda message, lauraekingcom, you
are not alone.
What if this is your moment tofinally honor what your soul has
(11:26):
been whispering?
Honor what your soul has beenwhispering.
I dare you.
I dare you to reach out.
There's so many resources andthere's so many people that want
to help, but guess what?
You have to take fullresponsibility.
Success is always going to beabout achieving ultimate harmony
(11:46):
, building a thriving careerwhile being present, not living
in your head, being present forwhat matters most.
You do not have to choosebetween impact and alignment.
There's always another way.
And let me tell you, I wasmisaligned of them all, so
(12:10):
misaligned, not present at all, missing it, missing the moments,
missing the moments with mykids, missing the moments with
my husband, missing the momentswith my friends, missing so many
moments because I was soaddicted to proving myself and
proving myself and provingmyself.
For what this unrealisticversion?
(12:42):
Actually, it wasn't even myversion, it was like a made up
version that I believe I wasonly worthy if.
But when you change that, whenyou flip that and you say, oh my
gosh, I came here to experiencethe most amazing time, full of
(13:09):
peace, full of abundance, fullof love, full of joy, and when
you really think about theinteractions in your day that
are the most fulfilling, they'refilled with the most love.
They're filled with the mostlove and we have been in fear,
(13:30):
in lack and separation, for fartoo long.
So I'm here to remind you thatthat is not, that does not need
to be, your future.
You are that powerful to choosea new intention.
I'm just so excited that you'rehere, I'm so excited that
(13:55):
you're opening your eyes and I'mvery proud of you for doing the
work.
I'm very proud of you for doingthe work because this is
(14:16):
probably the most important workyou're going to do of your
lifetime and it's going toimpact so many people.
But the most important personis you, because you deserve an
awesome life, a thriving life, and to experience the absolute
most joy possible Peace.
