Molly Lenty might be new to Garden City’s municipal ballot, but she’s been before voters before.
Lenty, currently serving her second term as a College of Western Idaho trustee, threw her hat in the ring for the open seat for Garden City’s mayor in November. The seat is open for the first time after Mayor John Evans, who served five terms in the seat, opted not to seek a sixth.
Lenty is running against current Garden City City Council Member Bill Jacobs as well as Teresa Roundy.
If elected, Lenty said she’d want to focus on strategic planning for Garden City initiatives to write a new comprehensive plan and consider how the landlocked city should plan for future projects as the Treasure Valley continues to boom.
