Dr. Safford is theChief Scientist for Vibrant Planet, anenvironmental public benefits corporation. Prior to that, he was the Regional Ecologist for the USDA-Forest Service. He is also the director of the Sierra Nevada section of the California Fire Science Consortium and and PrimaryInvestigator of the California Prescribed Fire Monitoring Program, which is a partnership with CALFIRE.
