Two weeks into the Hood to Hooded Consistency Project marks a significant milestone in the journey of building discipline, consistency, and self-worth. This isn't just about streaming daily—it's about developing the muscle of showing up for yourself regardless of circumstances.

Today's focus dives into powerful gems from "Eat That Frog," specifically chapters 18 and 19, offering complementary approaches to defeating procrastination. The "slice and dice" method encourages breaking overwhelming tasks into manageable pieces, allowing our brains to release motivating endorphins with each small completion. Meanwhile, creating large chunks of uninterrupted focus time enables deep work on major priorities. Remember: productive people don't find time—they make time for what truly matters.

Statistics shared reveal that lifelong learners earn three times more over their lifetime and feel 44% more fulfilled at work than those who stop learning after formal education. This reinforces the value of staying curious, hungry for growth, and consistently investing in skill development. The Hood to Hooded journey embodies this principle—showing up daily, learning constantly, and embracing imperfection along the way.

A special segment on Oral Cancer Awareness Month highlights the crucial differences between common canker sores and potentially dangerous oral cancer lesions. While canker sores typically heal within two weeks, oral cancer presents as persistent sores that don't heal and may bleed easily. This knowledge could literally save lives.

The stream concludes with a vital reminder about balance: consistency matters, but enjoying the journey prevents burnout. Breaking generational curses and achieving meaningful goals requires determination, yes—but also protecting your peace and finding joy in the process. Whether you're building a business, pursuing education, or developing any skill, remember that perfection isn't required to be powerful. What matters is showing up authentically, day after day, even when no one's watching.

Join us live on Twitch nightly as we continue this transformative journey from hood to hooded, one consistent day at a time.

Dr. Shon (00:00):
Welcome to day 14 of the Hood to Hooded Consistency
Project.
It's two weeks in and that'ssomething to clap about, whether
you are watching this from thegym on your work, break your car
curled up in your bed thank youfor tapping in or if you're
watching this on the replay.
This journey that I'm on, guys,it is not just about streaming
every day.

(00:20):
It's about building up thatmuscle of consistency,
discipline and self-worth.
So, as I'm on this journey, I'mworking on a skill that I know
I lack.
I know I have a problem withshowing up because I'm just busy
, but if you really wantsomething, you will show up for
it every single day.
Let me remind you you are notlazy.

(00:42):
If you're not showing up foryourself, you might not be lazy.
You may just be understimulated by the tags that
don't spark your spirit.
Find something that sparks yourspirit and tap into something
that lights up your soul.
If you into getting into thingsthat lighten up your soul and
just spark your creativity andencourage you to be disciplined,

(01:03):
this is the place for you.
Right now, because we're aboutto dive in, I want to get into
some quick stats for the mindsetwarriors out there today.
If you are a mindset warrior.
You all about getting yourmindset together, then you are
in the right place.
Lifelong learners earn threetimes more over their lifetime

(01:26):
than those who stop learningafter school, and they're 44%
more likely to feel fulfilled atwork.
Stay hungry, stay curious foryour goals and stay open-minded
to learning new information.
Lifelong learners are going tobe the people who are earning
three times more.
They never stop learning, evenif they're not in school.
They're always trying toenhance their skills, whether

(01:48):
they're on Twitch trying to be agamer it isn't easy, you need
skills to do this or if they'retrying to open up a brick and
mortar business, or if you areeven just trying to go back to
school.
Get your bachelor's, yourmaster's, your your doctoral
degrees.
You really need to continuelearning.
Even as a dentist, every dayI'm learning.

(02:09):
It's required in my professionto continue learning.
We've been diving into this bookeat that frog.
We are almost done.
It's just about how to preventprocrastination in your life.
How many of us areprocrastinators?
How many of us need moreinspiration just to stand on

(02:31):
business about our goals?
We are in chapter 18 and 19 ofEat that Frog, and today's gems
from Eat that Frog areinvaluable.
Chapter 18 is called slice anddice the task.
Sometimes we procrastinatebecause the task looks too big,
like how many of us experiencethat we have a mountain of work

(02:51):
to do and we just don't evenstart because it's just way too
much.
How many of us have these largetasks that we need to get done
but we just procrastinatebecause it's just I don't even
want to start, because it just Idon't even want to start.
This chapter is all aboutslicing and dicing your task.
If you slice it like salami orpunch holes in your task like

(03:15):
Swiss cheese, you are making itinto digestible, bite-sized
pieces.
Make a list of the steps thatyou have to do for your task and
tackle it one slice at a time.
It's just like this 365 dayconsistency challenge we're
doing it one day at a time.
I showed up on day one, unapologetic, afraid, with a
little bit of anxiety, because Iknew that my chat would be

(03:36):
starting from zero.
I knew that I would be in thisroom looking to lulu alone.
I knew this, but I was, like Isaid, unapologetic and unafraid
to do it.
Yes, I had a little anxiety,but I said I want to be a
streamer and go live everysingle day.
It starts with day one.
You can't start with day 365and just be great at it, and I

(03:57):
just been getting better andbetter every single day, showing
up putting myself out there, being vulnerable and talking to
myself and creating content andlearning as I go.
Give yourself permission toonly work five minutes on
something.
That's enough to build momentumwhenever you have a huge task
and don't forget, every time youcomplete the task, your brain

(04:18):
gives you a little dose ofendorphins.
This is like your innercheerleader.
Every time you do somethingpositive, every time you stand
on business about your goals andyou complete those tasks, your
hormones will release dopamineand serotonin and all these
different things to help youlike, increase your mood and

(04:39):
boost your energy, and this willdrive you to complete more and
more tasks, slicing and dicingthe task like little bit at a
time versus avoiding it alltogether.
Because what most people do,especially like when you're
younger if you want to go tocollege nine times out of ten,
you just need to start.
Don't wait till next year orthe next year.

(05:00):
Just go, maybe take one classat a time until you get your
feet wet and then try to taketwo classes, but take it a
little bit at a time until youget your feet wet and then try
to take two classes, but take ita little bit at a time.
If you're doing a trade, ifyou're starting a business,
knock out those goals on yourlist of things to do a little
bit at a time.
Moving on to chapter 19,.
It says create large chunks oftime to complete your major

(05:22):
tasks.
So it's kind of like theopposite of what chapter 18 said
, because chapter 18 said take alittle bit at a time.
This is saying use large chunksof time to complete your most
major tasks.
Productive people don't findtime.
We make time.
If you want to be moreproductive, get shit done

(05:42):
throughout the day.
You can't find time.
You got to make the time.
People make time for the thingsthey love and things that they
want to do.
You got to make the time for it.
Make time guys.
You want to be successful.
Go from hood to hood.
It make time.
Show up for yourself.
It says block out 30 minute, 60minute or 90 minute focus

(06:03):
sessions and cut out alldistractions, including your
phone.
No strolling on TikTok.
Just make the time by carvingout the time for you to complete
your task.
I know this method all too well.
When you in school, especiallydental school, you carve out all
your whole life to do your task.
Dental school was just likecarving out four years of time

(06:25):
just to work on dentistry andlearning and all the classes
that you need to get yourdoctoral degree.
Brian in this book says wake upearly, get two to three hours of
deep work done before the worldwakes up.
That's when the magic happens.
You heard the phrase the earlybird gets the worm.
Same thing applies the earlybird is always going to be out

(06:47):
there and get the fresh wormsthat are fresh out of the ground
so that they can be nice andfull and have a good day.
Nothing's worse than being thatlazy ass bird sitting on the
tree sleeping and it's noon andall the worms are gone Because
you didn't want to get up.
You didn't want to get up.
You didn't want to get up.
This segment is dr sean's day 14check-in real talk reflections.

(07:11):
How am I feeling on day 14?
Guys?
We're just showing up every dayafter having a long day.
At the end of the day I amfeeling pretty good.
This is the most consistentI've been publicly in a long
time and I can feel the momentumbuilding, even when I feel
exhausted.
I show up because I said Iwould and this is a goal of mine

(07:33):
today.
The lighting isn't perfect, themusic might glitch a little bit,
but guess what?
The message is still gonna hit.
Being at one woman's show meansthat I'm learning so much every
single day from tweaking thesounds, like this background
music right now.
Tweaking the sounds, adjustingthe light, checking the overlays

(07:56):
there's so much involved.
Making sure the pole show upsand you can see the pole don't
freaking work, but it is okay.
Perfection is not required tobe powerful, guys.
It's just not.
What is required of us is toshow up.
So day 14, man, I can't believewe already two weeks in and I'm
just looking at how much we'veconquered.

(08:18):
My chat is still on the littleflimsy side.
But this is how you go fromhood to hooded.
You have to go through thoseups and downs.
You have to take the stairs andovercome all the obstacles that
you may face and overcome yourfear.
No matter what you do, makesure that fear does not block

(08:39):
your mind from just continuingto grow and pursuing your goals
and your dreams.
Don't let fear be the finaldestination for your life,
because fear stops so manypeople from just doing anything.
They will sit around and, oh,I'm too scared, I ain't going to
do that.
No, today is not the day to getin your fearful bag and just

(09:01):
stay there.
We out of that bag, we shakingoff negativity and we just
living out loud guys.
So I thank each and every oneof you for rocking with me as I
show up on these streams, whether you showing up on
youtube, twitch or tiktok, because I've decided to do all
three nightly just to see howthat goes.

(09:21):
But I thank you, guys, forrocking with me, and every
stream is proof that we arebecoming better and better by
doing it at all.
Next, we got an oral hygienespotlight.
Tonight we will be talkingabout the difference between
canker sores and oral cancer.
April is Oral Cancer AwarenessMonth, so every day that I'm

(09:45):
live in April, I am touching onsomething related to oral cancer
.
April is oral cancer awarenessmonth, so every day that I'm
live in april, I am touching onsomething related to oral cancer
so that we can get awarenessout there.
So let's break down the commonconfusion between oral cancer
and canker sores.
Canker sores versus oral cancerlesions they might look similar
, but they are very different.

(10:06):
What is a canker sore?
A canker sore is a small, shallow ulcer inside of your
mouth.
It's usually white or yellowwith a red border.
It heals within one to twoweeks and it's triggered by
stress.
Spicy food or injury Likebiting your lip or your cheek
can cause this type of lesion.

(10:27):
You can see the triggers stress, nutritional deficiencies,
injury to the mild hormonalchanges, weakened immune system,
exposure to allergen and toxins.
Oral cancer versus the cankersore.
Oral cancer lesion is apersistent sore that doesn't

(10:48):
heal.
It may bleed easily, can bepainful or painless, and it's
often found on the tongue, thelips or the floor of the mouth.
Do you now kind of understandthe difference between a canker
sore and oral cancer?
They do have different features.
If something in your mouthhasn't healed in 14 days, make

(11:12):
sure you go to have it checkedout.
Do not play around with yourlife.
This segment is called have funor burnout.
Now I know we've been talkingabout procrastination and living
your best life and how to levelup and how to be productive and
all of this serious stuff.
But remember, guys, if you'renot having fun, then why are you

(11:34):
doing it at all in thisbroadcast?
Even with these streams.
My goal, my main goal, is tohave fun.
If I'm not having fun creatingthese overlays and showing up on
the stream and chit chattingwith you guys and looking to
lulu, then why am I doing it atall?
Today is like 14 dayscelebration with something

(11:54):
simple, like a simple, quickmessage for us okay, have fun,
laugh and stop over grinding.
We get caught up in this hustlemode and forget to enjoy life
because we're working too hard,we don't get together with
family, we don't take vacations,we just work nine to five and
not really taking time tobreathe.

(12:15):
So if you're not one of thosepeople you having fun with your
life, kudos to you.
But for to the people who arebogged down with just everyday
life, with bills, with the newsor everything going on, always
remember to protect your peace, protect your sanity.
We get so caught up and we wantto just learn how to meditate a
couple minutes per day.
Yes, show up.

(12:36):
Yes, be consistent, but alsohave lots of fun while you're
doing it, otherwise it's goingto feel just like work.
We don't want it to be a placewhere we just feel like it's
just working.
My stream is my joy space.
I don't want it to stress meout, and neither should your
goals.
They shouldn't really stressyou out.
Sometimes.
The most radical thing you cando is to smile, play some music,

(12:59):
take a dance break and live outloud.
Are you living out loud?
Are you making that tiktokvideo that you wanted to make?
Are you got your boots on theground?
Can we put our boots on theground tonight?
What do you do for fun to keepyour spirit light?
What are we doing to keep ourspirit light and full of energy?

(13:20):
Are you listening to music?
Are you doing nature walks, playing video games?
Are you just journaling or doyou feel like you need to find
something fun to do again?
What are you doing?
How do you have fun?
How do you bring out that kidin you again?
Streaming brings out that kidin me again.
Streaming brings out that kidin me again.

(13:40):
That's why I try not to make ittoo serious and I try to just
show up Like even though I geton here and I talk about these
books and I talk about how to bemore productive and how to get
rid of procrastination and gofrom hood to hooded and live
your best life and get thosedegrees, or to open those
businesses or just to get thatraise that you wanted, to get
that promotion and just elevateevery single day of your life.

(14:03):
The main thing is peace, guys.
We always want to protect ourpeace.
So, for me, anything that isdisturbing my peace, I am a fan
of getting rid of it.
Just like anything in dentistrythat I don't want to do, I'm a
fan of not doing it.
I'm not going to do proceduresand things that don't align with
my spirit.
It's like I don't accept everypatient because all patients
don't align with your spirit.

(14:24):
Some people are not goodpatients and some dentists are
not good dentists.
So you have to find who alignswith your spirit.
Always have fun.
I am a victim of being burnt out.
I am a victim of being burntout.
Dentistry, being a doctorrunning a dental practice, can

(14:49):
put in the onset of burnout.
But this is my dream, this ismy goal, so I have to find ways
to alleviate the burnout, stillhave fun and still make
dentistry something that ishelping me fulfill my purpose by
helping people get out of painand breaking the generational
curse in my family.
That's what this podcast, that's what this live hood to
hood podcast, is all about.

(15:10):
It's about breakinggenerational curses.
Yes, we want to have fun, wewant to do things that uplift us
in the spirit, but we also wantto break generational curses.
And when you're on a mission tobreak generational curses, have
some fun along the way.
Don't feel defeated, don't feellike you're a failure.
Take those failures and thoseare your learning experiences.

(15:32):
I have felt so much and I stillfail every day at doing things.
But guess what?
I still show up.
I still put one foot in frontof the other.
I still come on this livetalking to lulu, to myself,
because I have a goal, I have apurpose.
I am the type of person whosees things in the forward for
the future.
You got to think about yourfuture, everything that you do.

(15:55):
A lot of the decisions that Idid make is because my future.
I'm gonna tell y'all this storylike I don't even been to
situations where I was supposedto be fighting.
Somebody tried me along myjourney to hood to hood.
It before I was in dentalschool, or even when I was in

(16:16):
dental school, I've hadsituations where I ran into
somebody who was acting realratchet.
They want to make you go fromzero to 100 real quick.
Bring that hood shit back atyou.
But I knew, dang, if I go andjust punch you in your face, I'm
going to lose all of my dreams,I'm going to be in trouble and

(16:36):
I don't want to deal with that.
So I try to stay away frompeople, situations, situations,
environments that cause me to gozero to 100 and that try to
trigger the hood things to comeout.
That's when you know that youhave control of your character,
when you can just be like youknow what this situation isn't
for me.
I'm a bounce pewn.
No, nothing to do it.

(16:56):
You will not take me therebecause you are not even worth
it.
My Angelo said you gotta have alicense to approach me like
that baby.
You gotta have a license forthat type of shit.
Anytime you run into thosesituations where it could take
you from zero to 100, real quick, think about your goals, think
about your future and make adecision.
Hey, if it's worth, you likelosing it, then hey, do your

(17:20):
thing.
But for me, I ain't, finna, lose nothing behind nobody, not
long as you don't put your handson me.
We have been talking aboutoptimistic people, how they
accomplish more.
So let's continue to beoptimistic this week and let's
continue to be productive.
This week.
This is the Hooded Journey.
You can follow the HoodedPodcast on all podcast outlets.

(17:45):
I am live on Twitch every night.
Go stream my new single STFU.
It's my birthday.
Shout out to all the birthdaypeople out there.
And if you want to support thisbroadcast, you can find more
ways to send a tip or to help meget items off of my wish list,
all right, so that we canbrighten it up and keep it

(18:05):
moving.
But either way, guys, guess what?
We still showing up.
We still showing up despitewhat we lack, and we got to
remember this about our goals tojust show up despite what you
lack.
Even if you got a plastic spoon, you still going to eat.
You know how they say I wasn'tborn with a silver spoon in my
mouth.
But, baby, I got this plasticspoon and I'm still gonna eat
the same.
It still scoop the cereal, thesame.
Just remember that, whateveryou're doing in life, you will

(18:29):
be all right.
Just keep your mindset clearand keep your vibes positive and
be optimistic and stand onbusiness and let's stop
procrastinating about ourgreatness, even when it comes to
like our history, standing onbusiness about who we are.
If you need you just standingon business and being unafraid

(18:49):
to be who you are.
That is the goal for the restof your life and, like we
touched on tonight, let's havesome fun, let's knock out our
tasks, but let's not get too bigon working every day and not
taking a break and feeling likeeverything is crumbling down.
Take a break, chill out, getback to your essence of peace

(19:10):
and gratitude and just loving onthe people around you and being
unapologetic and just showingup for yourself.
If anything this consistencyproject has shown me in these 14
days is that if you continue toshow up, your consistency
muscle is going to be like.
It's going to be like so strong.
I can feel my strength comingback when it comes to this skill

(19:33):
that I said that I lack.
But anything that you say youlack, you can get it.
If I know I need consistency tomake it through life, hey, I'm
gonna get it.
I believe in myself like that.
Y'all already know how much Ibelieve in myself.
I believe I could do delusionalthings.
This is what it takes to gofrom hood to hood.
You gotta believe you can dothings that most people would be

(19:54):
afraid to do.
Most people was going to turnaround and say, no, that's
getting me out of my comfortzone and I don't feel safe going
over there and following mydreams.
So you go over there and followyour dreams if you want to.
You're going to regret it.
Those are the type of people wegot to stay away from.
Yeah, you're not in my circlebecause, listen, baby, even if
it's hard, when I moved to NewYork from Nashville, I had to

(20:16):
give away all of my stuff, allof my belongings, except what
would fit in the car, to followmy dreams.
To come to the residency, did ithomeless at some times.
Did it without money at sometimes.
Did it without the familysupport a lot of times.
Did it without even my healthat times.

(20:36):
But my mindset was alwaysfocused on accomplishing my
goals.
And when your mindset is clearand you have clarity about what
you want, nothing is going toget in your way.
Not the finances, not thefamilial support, not even your
health can stop you when you aredetermined.
You see so many people nomatter what obstacles they face,

(20:59):
if they have a goal, they'regoing to knock it out.
I want my audience, I want mysquad, I want this chat to be
about knocking out your goalsevery single day, but also
knowing how to have fun and tohave a balance.
Thank you guys for joining metonight, and I will see you all
tomorrow sending nothing butpositive vibes.
