Inspired by our episode 55 with Daillen Culver, we have a forest bathing-inspired meditation. Find a peaceful, natural space and join us in this 8-minute practice where we'll help you fully embrace the present moment, connecting with nature as you would with a dear friend.

During our guided meditation, we encourage you to engage all five senses – sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell – as you explore your surroundings. Whether you're drawn to a tree, a leaf, or even a spider web, allow yourself to become attuned to the life force around you.

Remember that your breath connects you to the earth and the natural elements supporting us. So, take a deep breath, listen in, and let us guide you through this transformative experience.

Holly (00:01):
Hi everyone and welcome back to How the Wise One Grows.
In episode 55, we spoke withDaillen Culver about forest
bathing, also known as Shinrin-Yoku, and the power of this
practice.
I have been sitting withDaelyn's words and trying to

(00:26):
dive more and more into thispractice and this week we're
going to have bathing-inspiredforest meditation.
So it's not a formal forestbathing practice I'm not versed
in that But on based theconversations we've had and
forest bathing practices I'velistened to and one that I did

(00:48):
just before recording thispodcast had me feeling so good
we're going to take time to havea forest bathing inspired
practice together today.
So during this practice, Iinvite you to just let go of any
timeline, of any destination,of any control.

(01:10):
This guided practice is about 8minutes, so I just want you to
release that worry of what'scoming next, of keeping track of
any time or any destination, and let yourself just drop in.
Let yourself relax and justhang out with nature as you

(01:30):
would with a friend.
Right now, if you can gooutside to do it.
If not, maybe grab a houseplant nearby or something
natural you can sit with.
But I would highly recommend,it if you aren't able to get
outside now.
You download this episode andpractice this at a later time

(01:51):
during your day or your week.
So take a moment, find somespace to be with nature.
And let's just start with 3deep breaths.
So take a moment to noticewhere your body touches the

(02:16):
earth.
You can gently rest your eyesor soften your gaze at a point
in front of you, take a bigbreath in, feel this prana, this

(02:36):
life force, fill the body, exhale slowly, and let it all
out Again.
Inhale, exhale.

(02:58):
Let it go One more.
Inhale And exhale And thenreturn to the sensation of where

(03:18):
your body meets the earth.
Continue to notice thesensation of the breath as it
moves in and out of the body, and then slowly open your eyes

(03:40):
And take a moment to reallynotice where you are right now.
So soak in this space, thisnature scape, as if it's the
very first time, with this senseof wonder and awe.

(04:06):
Take a moment to just be stillhere, let yourself soak it all
in And then notice if there'sanything that you're just

(04:29):
naturally feeling drawn to.
Maybe it's a tree, a leaf, ablade of grass, some moss.
Just slowly, let yourselfgravitate towards what's pulling
you right now.

(04:50):
So slowly walk towards thatthing that's calling you in And
as you approach it and meet it,just start to really explore it

(05:11):
with the five senses.
Let yourself get closer to it,see the elements of this that
you might have otherwise missed.

(05:32):
Maybe it's some bugs on a leaf,or little follicles that almost
look like little hairs on thestem of a branch.
Maybe a spider web.
Just let yourself notice moreacutely with your sense of sight

(05:59):
.
Look any sounds, any sounds inthe space around you.
Notice if there's a sound tothis element that you've been

(06:30):
drawn towards, maybe even gently.
Touch, not harming, just gently.
Bring in the sense of touch, touching this natural element

(06:52):
that you are communing with.
Notice how it feels as itbrushes against your skin.
Take a moment to even notice thesensation of the wind and the

(07:15):
air And notice your breath.
Notice how the breath you'rebreathing in this air and your

(07:37):
exhale releasing it.
This breath, this air isconnecting you to the earth,
these natural elements aroundyou.
We're supporting this lifeforce, this breath for one

(08:00):
another.
Maybe you want to stay withthis particular element Or maybe
something else is pulling you, calling you.

(08:21):
Let yourself gravitate towardsthat.
Just take the next few momentsto soak in what's here, slow

(08:49):
down and connect with no agenda, with no destination.
Let yourself soak in the lifearound you in this moment, and

(09:43):
in just a few moments you'llhear the gentle ringing of a
bell.
That's the formal close of ourpractice, but if you'd like to
continue, please feel free to doso.
