What's up, mia?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Oh, that intro sounds
pretty good, doesn't it?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
It's just like Well,
I'm trying to down-pack it
because let me do guys.
So for those of you that arenew to the podcast, welcome.
I am dyslexic, and what thatmeans for me sometimes is when I
read things off, it just turnslike Much better at free-flowing
, and so, yeah, it cracks me upsometimes when we do read the
intro and I'm like have youtried?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I can't remember what
it's called, but they sort of
say it works really well forpeople.
Adhd, um, probably hassomething to do with dyslexia,
but it's um text, but maybe likea few letters in the center in
the word uh, bold, only a fewand so every word.
I can't remember what it'scalled, but it works.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
It makes it so much
easier to read yeah, well,
that's like you know, um, haveyou seen that meme that goes
around where it's like onlydyslexic people can read this?
well, not only and it's like alljumbled and I'll never forget
the day that I read it, likeperfect, and I was like I want
to show my mum this because mumis a.
She was incredible.
She's an SSO, she was an SSO,so she works with kids and stuff
(02:24):
like that.
But when it's your mother,you're like don't, you can't
teach me this stuff, like weused to bless her.
She'd try.
And then I just end up cryingbecause I'm like you think I'm
dumb?
And she never did.
Blah, blah, blah.
Anyway, I showed her this thingand I said to her mum, can you
read this?
And she looked at it and gottwo words and was like what,
what is this?
What?
What even is this Kristen?
And?
And I was like, watch this.
And I read it to her and shewas like what, how did you?
(02:44):
And I was like that's whatdyslexia is.
And she was like oh, and I waslike that's what I see, like I
can see things like that andlike so it was that first time
she was like oh Well, that memecame up on my.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I think I sent it to
you.
I'm just like Then I read itagain.
I'm like, oh, it's all jumbledup.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
So it makes no sense.
Some people are like there's aspelling, oh.
One of my other favourite onesis I have mummies to say to me
like well, look it up in thedictionary.
I'm like I don't know how tospell it.
So how am I meant to look it upin the fucking dictionary?
Start with the first letter.
I was like I've got B, and thenwhat comes next?
I don't know.
Believe I before E?
I don't know, except after C.
(03:26):
Anyway, welcome to the chaosthat is here in Tristan.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Here we go, it's
yours.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Today we're going to
talk to you about a topic that
we're really excited about, because we're still seeing some
really fucking exciting stuff.
And if you are here with us forthe ride and you are listening
right now, congratulations.
You are also ahead of the curveand curve curb don't care,
you're ahead, here we go again.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
curb or curve.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Head of the curb.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Curb.
You know like there's theupward curve in a graph, so like
we're ahead of the curve.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Yeah, big curves,
we're ahead.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Because we have been.
We've had some success onTikTok, because that is where we
love to create we both.
We have over 140,000 followerscombined, mainly through TikTok,
and we have obviously watchedthe TikTok shop go nuts-a-roony
in every other country basically, basically than Australia.
So cheers guys, Yep, basically.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Just like the
creative fun, just like all the
other fun stuff.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
It's like we are a
fun crowd.
I feel like give us a chance.
That's why we want to talk toyou about today, because we have
heard some rumbles in thejungles that TikTok shop should
be coming to Australia Q1.
So should be in the next fewmonths.
It could drop.
Bloody well, tomorrow it coulddrop after this podcast actually
uploads.
Who knows, if it does, we'llget this podcast out very
(04:55):
fucking quickly and we'll forget.
But we wanted to talk to you.
Obviously, we do not haveTikTok shop, but we have been
doing a lot of research.
We have been watching creators,we have been speaking to
creators, we have been doing ourdue diligence to make sure that
we come to you with as muchinformation as we can before it
lands, because when it lands, you want to be the first person
(05:17):
to know about it.
So do you want to kind ofexplain what TikTok shop is,
what you need to know and whatwe can categorically tell you?
You need to know, which is whatwe teach inside our community.
So that's why we're so excitedabout it, because if you can do
what, we're teaching ourcommunity to do well you're
going to.
(05:38):
this could change your life, andthat's what we're excited about
, because the possibility ofthis working for you as a
content creator is fuckingmind-blowing.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yep, and that's why
we want to get our members ahead
of the game.
So when it does drop, you canjust hit the ground running and
go hard.
This because some of thecreators in the US um, I just
absolutely fucking killing it.
There are some creators who aredoing a million dollars a month
with this shit.
So if you can get good atcontent and you can get some
viral videos, the opportunity isjust absolutely insane.
(06:08):
So basically, tiktok shop it isa new, fun, interesting way of
doing affiliate marketing, aneasier way to do affiliate
marketing, where people can shopinside the TikTok app.
They don't have to leave theapp.
So brands are going to bepromoting their products on the
(06:30):
app.
Someone will scroll past, seethe video, they're going to
click it and they can buy itimmediately.
And as a creator, you canbenefit from this because if you
have the product and you'repromoting it, you're going to
get a commission every timesomeone buys that product
through your video.
So really, really exciting.
It's kind of where the viralitycomes into it, which is going
(06:57):
to be important for you because,if you're, most TikTok shop
products are low-ticket productsright, because they're impulse
buys.
If it's really expensive, you're probably not going to buy
it on the TikTok shop, you'regoing to go and research it, go
to the website, have a thinkabout it.
But this is really low ticketitems where it's going to be
impulse buy.
So you're going to need a lotof views and a lot of people to
(07:20):
buy through your video to makeany sort of substantial amount
of money.
So generally, from what I cangather, you know, commissions
are anything between like 10 to30%.
So if the product's only worth20 or $30, you're going to need
a lot of views to get a lot ofmoney for it.
Yeah, but yeah, in a nutshell,as a creator, you can get these
(07:42):
products, these sample productsfrom the brands and create as
much content as you want on thisproduct and try to go viral and
then people can buy thatproduct through your video.
So lots and lots of potential.
It's kind of like that you knowthing where one video could
kind of change your life.
Um, just takes one viral videoto, you know, earn you thousands
(08:03):
and thousands of dollars.
But while we're why we're reallyexcited about this is because
if you're a ugc creator already, you already know how to create
good content and content thatconverts into a sale, and that's
why we're excited for ourmembers, because they're already
plugging away at this ugc thing.
(08:24):
They know how to work withbrands.
They know how to, you know, communicate with brands.
You know create the type ofcontent that will, you know,
turn into a sale, and they'rejust going to have a really,
really good insight and you knowthey're going to be 10 steps
ahead of anyone who's justpicking up their phone for the
first time and creating content, hoping to go viral and sell a
(08:47):
lot.
One of those things.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
I think what's
important about this is when you
see a product and if you areonline and you're scrolling and
you see something that you like,I think it's if you break it
down and think about.
The process of purchasing rightnow has changed so much that
you could literally seesomething go.
I like that you kind of clickon it on the shop now button, on
(09:08):
Instagram or wherever that isthat is working right now, and
you go through the process andall of a sudden you're at the
open cart and then you'veclicked the Apple Pay or
whatever it is that likeeverything's in there and all of
a sudden you've bought it.
Like that process is soseamless.
So if you're on TikTok and, asa creator, thinking about, okay,
you've got this product thatyou love, potentially that
(09:29):
you're going to sell, thatyou're going to create content
about.
If you, like Mia said, are aUGC content creator already,
that is in that process ofcreating ads and things for
brands.
You understand how to createthat formula.
You understand how to createcontent and how to create that
know, like and trust and buildthat with a brand.
Obviously you will be workingwith what the brand script might
(09:53):
want you, but right now, youget the opportunity to literally
be yourself and sell somethingfrom a place of I actually
really love this.
You know, like, think about aproduct that you do actually
love that right now.
Like, if you can think, I canthink of one product right now
that I would love to be able totalk about because it's insane,
and you go, okay, I couldactually sell that from a place
of like, like, I really lovethis and I want to share this,
(10:15):
so I'm going to create contentthat feels good to me, that's
easy to create, that all of asudden, somebody is watching
like, oh my God, that's whereyou heard.
Oh my God, yes, I love that.
Click, click buy.
Like the simplicity of it isincredible.
But the part that we love themost is that, if you can harness
your skills as a contentcreator, that is where you are
(10:37):
going to see the most successand that is where you get that
virality with videos that we'vegot the formulas, we've got all
of that inside of our communitythat we teach constantly so that
you can actually have thatsuccess.
And if you can have thatsuccess with the brand paying
you through UGC, amazing.
But now you get to have thatsuccess potentially through you
(10:57):
creating content for yourselfthat gets you paid directly.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah, and so I guess
the difference with UGC is the
brand pays you for one video andthen they run it as an ad.
Tiktok Shop you get the sampleproduct and you can create as
many videos as you want andyou're earning commissions.
It's untapped, like unlimitedcommissions, whereas a UBC job
is just that once-off paymentand you know the whole landscape
(11:25):
is changing into this socialcommerce.
Remember when Amazon justchanged everything?
Yeah, doc Shop is changingeverything again.
So there's going to be when itdrops in Australia.
There's going to be a lot ofbrands like.
There's brands getting readyfor this already.
They're already preparing, they're already, you know,
making sure that it's going tobe a seamless integration.
(11:47):
They're going to be on thelookout for creators like you to
promote their products.
So you need to be aware andready to not only jump on these
products but understand whichproducts are going to work well
on TikTok Shop and go andcontact those brands.
(12:08):
You could be contacting brandsnow if you wanted to and say
look, really love your product.
I think it's going to be greaton TikTok Shop when it lands.
Are you looking for creators?
Are you looking for affiliates?
Because I'm here and I'm readyto go when it drops.
You know, building thoserelationships maybe it's brands
that you're already working withas a ugc creator.
Have that conversation withthem.
Are you guys going to be ontiktok shop?
(12:29):
Are you thinking about it?
Speaker 1 (12:31):
you know and inside
our community.
We're doing a full master classon this for our members so that
they can really dive deeperinto what this is, so that as
soon as the TikTok shop landswe'll have all the information.
The masterclass will bedropping inside our community
very soon, but as we learn more,as it lands, we will just add
to that for people so that youguys are ready to go.
(12:51):
So if you are curious aboutthis, then let us know.
We have a free 90-minutemasterclass.
Jump on that, then you'll knowwhen the doors are open to come
into the community to learn thiskind of information.
But if you want to get startednow, that masterclass is going
to get you started in what UGCactually is and that's going to
be your first step in movingforward.
But for brands and things it'sgoing to be a new space.
(13:13):
It's going to be a very crazyspace for them to like.
Some brands are only justgetting their head around UGC.
So if you are a creator, thatgoes okay.
Hang on, a minute I'm going totake.
I'm going to lean into this andshare with this brand my
knowledge, how I can help themkind of get in their books a
little bit in terms of let meknow, like when TikTok shop
drops, I'll be the creator foryou.
(13:35):
And I think what's nice aboutthis and what's cool about this
is, with UGC, you have scriptsfrom a brand, which is fine.
Sometimes I've got really idealscripts that they want you to
lean on and use, and that's allright.
Sometimes you can come in withyour own creative flair and kind
of help them with their script, where you've got an opportunity
to share you.
(13:55):
And this is where building apersonal brand is so important,
and this is another thing we doin our community.
That is so different to anyother UGC community there is is
we teach you how to build apowerful personal brand.
If you are a woman in yourforties and you are listening to
this, you are going to beneeded because, let me tell you,
in our in families like I don'tknow the percentage cause it
didn't do my fucking research, but I can guarantee we do have
(14:18):
the stats somewhere.
That didn't do my fuckingresearch, but I can guarantee we
do have the stats somewhere.
I'm not going to go and findthe stats, but the biggest
buyers in a household are women40 and 50, because usually we
are the ones and I say we,because I know I am in my family
.
I'm the shopper.
I buy for the kids, I buy formy husband, I buy for myself, I
buy for the family, I buy forthe Christmas presents.
I'm the one that purchases thething.
(14:44):
So I am the impulse buyer.
I am the buyer that if you tellme something works and I, like
you and I engage with you and Itrust you.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
I'm not going to buy
it and we've got more money than
the younger 20 year oldssometimes.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yes, and so it's that
other thing that if you are a
40 year old right now, you don'thave to be 40, but if you're 40
, 50, 60, or you're heading tothat way and you're like, oh,
that's not me, it just doesn'tfeel right, I just want you to
go.
Okay, imagine you TikTok shoplands and all of a sudden, all
you see on TikTok are theseyounger, 20 year olds, you know,
doing amazing things.
(15:12):
They've got time, they've gotenergy, they can do this and
they're earning whateverhundreds of thousands of dollars
for this, and you're like Idon't want to buy from you, like
I don't believe that thatwrinkle cream works for you, I
don't believe that thatperimenopausal fat loss fucking
something works for you, thenyou be that creator for the
person that wants it, because, let me tell you, they are going
to connect with you better andwant to buy from you.
(15:34):
So think about your own buyingpotential, Think about you and
what you buy from, who you buyfrom, and just think about that
as the potential when this lands.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And a lot of people
assume that TikTok's for the
younger people, but there are somany people 40 plus in that app
that it's insane and theopportunities on that app are
insane and it's just going toget better and better and bigger
and bigger.
And you know, I was thinkingthe other day too brands do this
in the US, where they'll hire acreator on a retainer basis, so
(16:08):
that might be a couple of granda month to promote solely for
their product.
And so not only is thereopportunities to get retainer
clients and work alongsidebrands, but to earn those
commissions on top of that andhave the chance to potentially
go viral and sell thousands ofproducts is absolutely insane to
(16:31):
think about.
We'll be dropping this insidethe masterclass.
We've got some software thatyou can actually go and look at
and see how much people areactually earning with particular
products, particular videos, soyou can see what video went
viral and how many sales theymade on that video, and it's
just crazy.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Yeah, yeah.
And so I suppose, if this isprobably the podcast episode
that I hope gets you curiousabout this, why is curious such
a hard word to say it is today, but I hope this is the episode
that just gets you interestedenough and aware.
Like, what we want you to do isget aware of the potential.
And so TikTok shop, like wesaid, the rumor mill is saying
(17:14):
Q1 of 2025.
So very soon it should andcould land.
And so if you are a brand, potentially I don't know you
might be listening what up umthen this is a huge opportunity
for you and we can kind of sharewhat we know through our
creators and things around that.
But if you are a contentcreator and you are listening to
this episode and you're like,huh, interesting, I don't have a
(17:36):
tiktok account start one, firstand foremost yep, start it now
and when you're like I don'twant a TikTok account, start one
First and foremost.
Yep, start it now.
And when you're like I don'twant to go on TikTok, just start
it because you start it.
Share your journey, talk aboutwho you are, build that personal
brand.
If you don't understand how todo that, go and watch our
masterclass.
Get around it, come into ourcommunity and learn that with us
.
But it's around just buildingthat.
Know, like and trust.
(17:57):
Creating a brand online and ona place like TikTok that you
build trust, know, like andtrust.
Because there could be a chancethat I mean we don't know, but I
know from what the US have saidthat in order to have TikTok
shop, you needed to have athousand followers before you
were eligible.
That may or may not change.
They may make that bigger, theymay not make that smaller.
(18:18):
We don don't know thatinformation, but what we're
going off is I know it was athousand followers were needed.
So start now, because you don'twant it to drop next week and
be like, oh and just start.
Scale, learn, have fun creatingthat content, because that's
that you know.
You don't need to worry aboutwhat content it is right now.
Just have some fun with.
(18:38):
And for those of you that arethinking this is something and
you're already building, justconsciously, think about that.
If you're working with a brandbecause you're a UGC content
creator, already start speakingto your brand, start pitching
yourself as have you thoughtabout TikTok shop and, obviously
, if you're not in our community, come into the community and
learn about it so that you canbe the first person off the bat
(18:59):
ready to go with it.
And it's going to be about youknow, mia and I have said we
don't love the idea of viralcontent, but this is a place
where viral content is going tobe your best friend.
But it's not going to be hardif you get it right and you have
that personal brand that peoplefucking love, because they're
the people that are going toabsolutely annihilate this.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
And while we wait for
this big drop, if you're not
already doing UGC, highlyrecommend doing it, not only to
prepare yourself for TikTok shopif that's what you want to do,
but also to expand and grow yourown business 10 times quicker,
because you're learning how tocreate that content that
converts into sales.
This is why we love UGC and goand get our double dip method
(19:45):
free webinar in the show notes, because it will just open your
eyes to why we teach UGC notonly for the money, not only for
the you know, getting ready forthis TikTok shop, but to be
able to create that type ofcontent that converts into sales
for your own business.
And when you've got your ownpersonal brand online, you can
(20:05):
do a bit of TikTok shop, you cando some UGC, you can sell a
digital product, you candiversify your income, but it
all comes down to the contentand creating that good content,
no matter what you do, no matterwhat you sell content and
creating that good content, nomatter what you do, no matter
what you sell.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
Yeah, so that is a
little wrap up around the tiktok
shop.
Coming to australia, stay withus.
If you are not a subscriber ofthis podcast, please be one.
You just need to click thatlittle plus at the top in your
apple podcast and I just followus along and we'll give you more
information and please leave usa review.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Podcasting is really
hard because with social media
you can see the likes, you cansee the comments, you can see
the follows, but podcasts youdon't really see too much.
You can see the downloads, buthaving a review is so, so
helpful.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
So, if you like what
is, cool is when people come
into the community and they'relike I found your podcast.
I'm like I binged like 20episodes and now I'm in the
community.
I'm like, oh so, people dolisten, so we're gonna do a
little love, don't love and likewe probably haven't prepared,
but we do this often, so we'llsee how we go do you have any
(21:10):
love for loves um, I love, oh, Ilove.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Well, we know that,
we love chat gbt.
But since we've been runningsome Facebook ads you know, I'm
teaching myself a lot aboutFacebook ads and all the stuff
Like it's a lot to take on.
But ChatGVT Far out man, I justsend him screenshots, I send
him numbers, I send himeverything and ask him questions
(21:35):
and he's just like do this, dothat?
Have you thought about this?
Like, I am just learning somuch from ChatGPT with running
Facebook ads.
Don't be afraid to startrunning some Facebook ads.
And when you have a question, ask ChatGPT, he knows everything
.
And when you have a question, ask ChatGPT, he knows everything
.
It's really beautiful.
Like I've watched a lot ofYouTubes as well and I'm sitting
(21:57):
there and I'm watching and I'mlike come on, hurry up, get to
the point.
I just ask ChatGPT the questionor send him the screenshot.
Is this right?
What am I doing here?
Done answered, so love it forthat.
Love it for that.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Can I do two loves
this week?
Actually Absolutely, but thenif that means, if we do another
podcast and then you don't haveone, we'll just use that as a
spare.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I don't have a hate
at the moment or don't love at
the moment, but I just like, onthe topic of TikTok shop and how
bloody amazing TikTok is, I hada bit of a connection the other
day through TikTok.
I just love how TikTok bringspeople together and connects
people with similar interestsand finds your people.
Find your people.
(22:41):
I had a message from a guy whosaw one of my ADHD TikToks and
he said hey, I saw one of yourTikToks.
I really resonate with all yourcontent.
You said that you used to be aparamedic.
Any chance you were a paramedicin Victoria.
And I'm like, yeah, he's like Iam too.
(23:02):
And turns out he's got ADHD,he's a paramedic in Melbourne
and he has his own business.
And turns out I've beenfollowing his business page on
TikTok for a few years and I'mjust like, oh, that's your
business.
And he's like, yeah, and itturns out I've been following
his business page on TikTok fora few years and I was just like,
oh, that's your business.
And he's like, yeah, and it's aproduct to do with, you know
neurodiversity, and he's goingto send me some of his stuff and
I'm going to do some contentfor him.
And I was just like how awesomeit brings two paramedics
(23:25):
together or ex-paramedicstogether.
We're business, we've got ADHDand you know, now we're talking
in the comments, in the DMs, andit's just really cool, really
cool, that's cool, that's reallycool.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, I'm glad that
you did two loves.
Well done, I'm glad you did two.
Yes, yes, two big loves.
How about yourself?
I can't think of a don't love,which is a good thing.
I'm sure there's plenty, but Ican't be bothered with don't
loves.
Also, if anyone has Stan the TVstreaming thing, I've been
watching 10-pound poms.
(23:55):
Now my dad, if anyone'slistening my dad was a 10-pound
pom which is literally like at Ithink he was 11 or 13,.
Can't remember His family.
His mum and dad were like we'regoing to move to Australia.
Like pack up your entire life,we're never coming back here
again.
You're never going to see yourfamily, friends, nobody.
They've had 10 pounds and goneon a boat for six weeks and came
(24:20):
over to australia.
Yeah and so like it's a reallygood, it's an actual.
It's like a show.
Um, it's not a true story, butit's a show, but it tells the
like, because dad used to talkabout the fact like I still
can't get my head around thathis parents were like we're just
going to get a boat to theother side of the world.
I just did it just did it like, and all they used to watch is
like these.
Apparently dad said they'dwatch it.
Um, like drive-in movies, theseads about Australia that were
just like dad's like.
(24:40):
It just blew your mind thatthere could be a place in the
world like that and then theywent and they got here and when
they got here they went to theselike camps.
they're in these like dome hutthings that were in the middle
of nowhere and it was kind ofnothing like they were told it
was going to be and I kind ofnever thought Dad was lying to
me but I was like surely not.
And then, watching the show, Iwas like oh damn, that's like
(25:00):
exactly what happened.
So it's been really good becauseI think sometimes you know,
when your parents tell youstories I don't know about your
parents, but like my dad's got apretty cool background and
sometimes I'm like how, how isthat life like yeah, and then
you see this shit, you're like Ineed to watch.
It's really good, like it wasreally interesting and um, yeah,
(25:22):
anyway, I highly recommend tenpound pom because it was really
like if you especially if you'vegot family that came in that
era, because it was like in the50s um, really really fucking
good.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
So that's my love,
just really, really enjoying
that.
Because, yeah, my family's thesame.
They, you know, got on a boatand I think they went to.
Yeah, they did.
They went to new guinea first, had a bit of a life in papua new
guinea my mom was born there.
Then they and I'm just like, could you imagine doing that,
like my grandparents were justlike, yeah, just so adventurous
and just like if if my parentssaid that to me, like hey,
(25:52):
christopher's gonna pack up yourwhole life you'll never see
your cousins, your family,nobody.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
We're just gonna go
the other side of the world and
you can't like, you can't write, ring, nothing I'd be like no,
we're not actually.
But dad was like, yeah, him andhis brother off, they go.
Yep, cool we're a better lifeso that's, I highly recommend it
, especially if you've got somekind of connection really cool,
cool show.
So that's my love.
I'm not going to go, don't love, because let's go with
positivity.
