Speaker 1 (00:02):
Are you ready to master the art of creating
content that converts?
Hey, I'm Mia, a mum of two whowent from being a burnt out ambo
to six-figure content creatorin less than a year, all while
navigating a late ADHD diagnosis.
And I'm Kristen, also a mum oftwo and a former corporate
branding queen turnedentrepreneur.
My dyslexic brain seesmarketing very differently, and
that's my superpower, andtogether we're showing women

(00:24):
like you how to master videomarketing and create content
that generates income.
Whether you're just startingout or ready to scale, we are
breaking down everything fromlanding brand deals to building
your own empire.
Welcome to I Am that ContentCreator podcast, where we turn
scroll stopping content intoserious income.
No filters, no fluff, just realstrategies from two

(00:44):
neurodivergent mums who get it.
So let's turn your phone into avideo marketing machine and
let's go.
Let's go, guys, be professionalguys.
Oh my God, it's just gettingthat intro done.
Welcome to the I Am thatContent Creator podcast.

(01:05):
We're cutting through the noiseto show you exactly how to
create scroll-stopping contentand premium brand deals and
build a thriving online business.
No bullshit, just provenstrategies to scale.
And I nailed it.
And I can't believe it.
It's because you're on TikToklive.
Yeah, maybe that's it.
Welcome everyone to the podcast.
I nailed the introduction.

(01:29):
We've decided to do our podcastlives as well.
So like we're doing it live onTikTok and we're doing it here.
So me and I are just likegetting into the jam.
So any questions on the TikToksI'll see if we can answer them
as we go, but if not, we'll justdo the podcast, because that's
what we're here for Today.
We're going to be talking aboutif you've got a male in your
life.
We're going to be talking aboutif you've got a male in your
life.
You want to give them thispodcast because we're going to
help them earn an income or seethe potential of an income with

(01:51):
ugc, um, user generated content.
So we really want to share that.
Uh, brands are out there andthey need us women 40 plus, but
they are desperate for menbecause, I don't know, there's
like social media.
Women just seem to kind offlock to it and men just don't
seem to do that.
Yeah, yeah, and you think aboutit.

(02:15):
So there's so many brands thatare directed towards men and
they need men content creators.
I mean there are a lot of malecontent creators, but not that
many male UGC creators.
And the ones that are, you know, in the scene.
They're getting good jobs and alot of jobs, because these
brands are like shit.
There's women everywhere.
I need a man for my product andit doesn't have to be a male

(02:39):
only product.
It can be, you know, anythingwhere women or men purchase it,
because they need that socialproof from both sides.
So and we're having thisconversation because I recently
got my partner his first UGC joband he said yes, because he saw
what the product was and howmuch he was going to get paid
and it's going to be interestingI'm not sure if he's going to

(03:01):
do speaking to camera as such, and that's the thing with UGC.
You can do voiceovers and sortof work your way up to speaking
to camera.
But you know he's a tradie andhe's getting old and he's got
arthritis and he wants to getoff the tools.
And if you're a tradie, youknow a lot of them.
They're like what else do I do?
This has been my whole entirelife.

(03:22):
I've been a builder my wholeentire life.
What the fuck else am I goingto do?
And so I will help him, obviously, but there's so many
brands out there just lookingfor male UGC creators, and
that's another thing too it'ssuch a low barrier to entry.
You don't really have to haveexperience, you don't have to
have a big audience or a nicheor a product of your own.

(03:44):
You can get started with prettymuch nothing.
Yeah, and I think that's the keything, is that there's a low
barrier of entry and if you'recreating content and you've got
a partner and you can get himinto I know mine would
absolutely not unless he was notin it whatsoever couldn't be
seen, couldn't kind of getaround it in any way.
But then sometimes I I'm likewell, if it means he potentially

(04:05):
gets a free product and we getpaid, maybe he would just like
be in the background and justusing it, but never face to
camera or ever, like never.
He just wouldn't.
But there are a lot of men thatwould and a lot that I think we
could definitely, you know, youcould definitely support and
just slowly bring them in, justgently, kind of.
Yeah, when I started UGC I waslike, oh God, I'm not getting my

(04:29):
face on camera, no way, what, how you know, embarrassing.
But then I got my first job andit was $400.
I'm like well, that was easy.
And so maybe that happens withmy partner too, because you know
it's a product that he's goingto use all the time in the shed,
like in the garden, and youknow $600, $800.

(04:49):
Like that's a half a week'swage just with one video.
If you're already a UGC creator, think about putting some
content of your partner in yourportfolio too.
So, mia, I suppose for any newlisteners, welcome.
Let's explain UGC, because ifsomebody's just grabbed their
partner and gone, come andlisten to this, and he's like I

(05:12):
don't want to listen to this, how can we break this down in a
way that sounds really, I don'tknow, cooler for men, because
for women it's like a bit likeit's really exciting and
exhilarating and, oh my God, Icould earn an income with just
my phone and it's a really greatincome.
As I know you from my husband, even when I explain to him now
what we do, he's like you do youboo?

(05:35):
So let's explain it in a waythat especially like okay,
you're telling your husband, explain what you want him to do.
All right, so this brand issending you a $400 product that
you get to keep for free inreturn for a piece of content
that they can use for ads.
It doesn't go on your Facebookor your Instagram.
Nothing like that.
No one has to know you do it.

(05:56):
There's the potential thatpeople that you know may see
your ad on Facebook.
Hey, you're getting paid to dothis and so, once the content is
made, the brand will pay youfor that content and they use it
as their ads.
You get to keep the productforever and they may come back
for more.
And the beauty about this is,you know, one UGC video could be

(06:18):
, you know, four or $500, andyou start to do a couple of
those a week and it starts toform a really good income.
And the thing is like a lot ofpeople still love their jobs,
they still want to go to theirwork, but could you imagine an
extra five to a thousand dollarsa week on top of your income to
, I don't know, spend on aholiday or pay off your car loan

(06:38):
or buy more tools for the shedor whatever it is you want to do
?
It's like a fun, creative wayto make more money and it's
something that you don't have to.
Like most online businesses, you know there's a lot of time
building an audience or settingup the business, buying all

(06:59):
these things like domains andinsurance and all this sort of
stuff.
You just see you can kind ofget started straight away with
nothing.
So because it's such a lowbarrier to entry, it's one of
the best.
I don't even call it a sidehustle, because it can be so
much more than that, but it'sone of these things that you can
get started straight away.
And I actually saw a man he wasfrom the US on a TikTok live.

(07:20):
He got made redundant from hisjob, which I think is happening
quite a lot in the US now andhe's like shit, what am I going
to do?
I've got a mortgage, I've gotkids how the hell am I going to
live?
And he started UGC and now he'searning more than his previous
job doing UGC.
And that's what happened to metoo.
I couldn't believe it.
So, and especially for peoplelike my partner, he's been a

(07:41):
builder his whole adult life.
He knows nothing else, but hisbody is starting to give up on
him and he's like what am Isupposed to do?
So this is something that youcan do from home.
The pay is quite good and, especially if you're a man,
you're going to be quite soughtafter.
So you might end up being superbusy with this and you can do
it when you want from where youwant.

(08:02):
We did it tripling aroundAustralia.
I mean, he did appear in someof my UGC videos and he helped
me out with the filming andstuff, but now that this brand
has come to us, wanting him inparticular, now he can start
making his own money as well andit's one of those things that,
without being stereotypical, ifI think about my husband or I

(08:24):
think about some of the thingslike tools, caravans, four-wheel
drive camping yes, obviouslywomen can do all that, but there
is a big section of the marketthat would be more appropriate
slash would work best and well,if you've got that demographic,
the age, the gender, all ofthose things that a little bit
more.

(08:44):
We just had another podcastthat we did the other week that
was talking about the mum'sschool chat, where mums are
sharing things they love and howthey love and what they love,
and that's like that authenticUGC.
And you know, I think about myhusband's going away with some
mates to the Fink Desert Raceand he's going a few weeks and
the chats of these guys like, oh, we should pack that and have

(09:06):
you got this awning and thisawning and we've got this new
Weber Q and this.
I'm like guys like right there,y'all could be doing this and
making money for your trip.
If you could find brands thatyou know you're going to be
using on that trip, they couldfund that trip for you, pay for
all the fuel, pay for you know, and you get free products.
And this particular brand who'scome to me wanting my partner?

(09:27):
They've also.
I've also passed on informationfor another creator that we
know and she's getting her dadinto it and he's in his 70s and
they've snapped him up too.
He's 70-something years old andyou know he's quite funny on
camera, but age doesn't matter.
Like, these brands needspecific demographics to promote

(09:49):
their products.
Well, didn't the brand thatyou're getting your partner into
?
They were asking for women fromkind of 45 to 85.
Like that's the demographicthat they need to create content
for.
And the thing with UGC and thething that we love about our
community is we really do leanin more around the 40 plus,
because we're women that are 40.

(10:09):
We know what it's like.
There's lots of younger,20-year-old UGC creators that
have got time, space, aestheticfreedom, all the things where,
as busy mums, our houses aren'tperfect, our lives aren't
perfect, it's half the time it'schaos, but we're also the purse
strings of the family that arepurchasing these things, that
want to see women that look likeus or men that look like us or

(10:30):
our partners to actually makethose purchases.
And so I think what's reallycool, even inside the community,
we've got a couple and I'vejust they did a UGC that's
originally, I think, forDomino's Pizza, and they were
both in it and I watched it.
I was like these guys are anincredible duo, like together.
They just and they're doingdifferent kind of camping things

(10:50):
and stuff they can do togetherand separately.
And so, you know, there's somany products that if you are a
male and you're you hadn'tthought of it then it's
something that you couldcertainly lean into.
It's something that we've gotwhat's called the fast track
method that can take you fromhaving absolutely no idea to
getting paid for UGC in 30 daysor less, because we know that

(11:13):
the thing for us is, this givesyou a skill set that you can use
forever.
It's either the setup ofgrowing an online business or
it's something that it buildsconfidence, clarity, video
marketing.
It's a whole skill set initself.
It's not just UGC and it's notjust getting paid for an ad Like
this could be.

(11:34):
What funds a business?
What funds a holiday?
What funds the renovations inyour home?
Because you did I don't knowtwo videos a week for six months
or whatever that looks like.
Yeah, and that's the thing.
If you have a renovation comingup, go and approach the brands
that you're going to buy theserenovation tools and products
with and see if you, you know, you can get these products for

(11:55):
free in exchange for content.
My dad has done UGC because Igot a brand come to me it was
deck oil and they've got a big, beautiful deck out the back of
their place.
And I said hey, dad, do youwant this job?
I'll give you the money.
And he's like hell, yeah.
So he went and oiled all thedeck and like was filming
himself doing it and you know, free oil deck.

(12:18):
You know you're going to buy itanyway.
So another thing too if you'rethinking and I'm kicking myself
that I didn't get my partnerinto this earlier when we were
traveling around in Australiabut if you want to do that, pack
up everything, hit the road andyou're wondering how the fuck
am I going to make money on theroad?
Get.
And you're wondering how thefuck am I going to make money on
the road?
Get into it Like campingproducts, four-wheel drive

(12:39):
products, anything that you cancreate around inside a caravan
or out in the wilderness.
You know I was doing thingslike.
You know, those little flythings that keep the flies off,
the food, towels, like, theproducts are just endless the
archies, the shoes as well.
Yep, so the thongs yes, hisfeet were in that video, so it's

(13:00):
limitless and the potential tomake a lot of money is, yeah,
it's there.
And we're finding our 40-pluswomen are doing really well
because there's not many 40-pluswomen.
So now you bring in 40-plus men.
Yeah, you know there's bugger, all of those.
So, yeah, it's there, even withyou know, with that, I think
about um, my partner, whowouldn't love it, but if he was

(13:24):
using a tool or a product or,let's say, the deck, he could be
in it, not have his face in it,but I could be filming from the
back, you know, doing all thedifferent shots that we teach
our community how to do that andhow to create good ugc, and
then do a voiceover and he doesthe voiceover.
Or now, with ai, you can get aito do that and how to create
good UGC and then do a voiceoverand he does the voiceover.
Or now, with AI, you can get AIto do the voiceover with a male
voice, but I'd get him, he'd beable to do the voiceover.

(13:44):
So you don't have to be theface talking to camera.
It can be, you know, that kindof b-roll type footage where you
just create the shots reallycleverly and then you do a
voiceover, which is can beincredibly impactful.
So it's not like they have tobe the face of that product.
And you know, like you saidbefore, it doesn't go on their
social media, so their matesaren't going to see it.

(14:05):
Not that I don't know about anyof them, but my husband
certainly not.
He'd be like oh, am I going tosee it on Gumtree?
Yeah, and like that's the thingtoo.
Like in the beginning it can bea bit cringy and what have you
and people might see your ads,but when you're earning the
money and you're working fromhome whenever you want and
you're getting all these freeproducts, you don't give a fuck.
You're like I'm going to keepdoing this.
I don't care if someone laughsat me for two seconds, I'm going

(14:28):
to keep doing it.
You're getting paid for a newskill set.
Like it's kind of a no-brainer,yeah, and you're sick of being
on the tools or you hate yourjob and you're looking for
something else to do, but youdon't want another boss, you
don't want to be tied down.
Have a think about it and, likeKristen said, we're holding a
free workshop.
All are welcome.
We've got men inside ourcommunity as well.
Just come and learn and seewhat it's all about.

(14:51):
And we're going to be gettingdown and dirty, figuring this
out and helping you to get yourfirst UGC job.
So you know that you gotnothing to lose, basically.
So we'll put those details inthe show notes or, if you're
live on TikTok with us, you cango to my profile links there,
click it.
Come to the workshop because, like me said, we're going to
actually take some action andshow you how to get your first
UGC job and what that looks like.
So that is, if you've got yourmen in your life, get them into

(15:14):
UGC, get them into our community.
We will support them.
It's just such an incredibletool that you'll have forever
that you get paid to learn it.
Like, okay, I'll do that.
It's a no-brainer, basically.
So, mia, any loves don't loves Ineed to think about mine,
because I didn't do my homework.
I did my homework.
I had to think really hardabout these.
So I'm going to start with mydon't love, and I don't think

(15:38):
anyone would love this, to behonest.
Mygov, mygov, oh, my God, is itthe most painful thing in the
world?
Horrendous.
I'm trying to log in to pay youguys money.
Oh, no, that's not what we'vegot.
No, you can't log in.
No, you're locked out for 24hours.

(16:03):
No, that's, that doesn't matchour fucking records.
It's like I've had the samebank account and the same super
account since I was and can youput in all the details?
Seven times, like exactly thesame ones.
I asked you two questions ago,all the same ones.
And when we get to the eighthtime, I'm gonna be like, nope,
too bad, yep, and also I can'tget in, so I'll ring you.
And then you're on hold forages and like, oh, would you
like a call back?
Yes, please.
And then they call you back andthen they put you on hold.

(16:24):
Once they've called you back, like, oh, my god, this is just
so infuriating.
But, um, yeah, that's my don'tlove this week.
I'm gonna share in that don'tlove and piggyback that because
we I had to do that on theopposite side.
I think that's why we both wentto the ATO to do what we need
to do.
So I'm going to piggyback thatbecause I also hated it.
So there you go.
Yeah, horrific, and it's a bitlike Centrelink too.
They make it so hard that youjust go.

(16:44):
I can't be bothered.
I'm just going to give up.
Just not going to give up.
Speaking of this kind of tiesinto that, an app that I use
every single day, especially ifyou're coming into UGC, you are
a freelancer, you've got to havean ABN, you've got to pay your

(17:05):
own tax, which is a pain in thebutt.
So I use a app called Henry andbasically they do everything
for you they lodge your taxreturn, they do all your GST,
they do your BAS, they doeverything.
So it's kind of like thisthey're all accountants and they
all do it in the background, but you're not sitting down with
a bookkeeper and accountant andyou know it's just a good, easy
way to take care of your tax, because if you're anything like

(17:27):
me, oh yeah, I'll put tax awayand then you end it and then it
comes tax time.
You're like shit and a lot oftradies use it too.
Just a freelancing tax app, andI love it.
We'll put your link to that inthe show notes as well.
Yes, yes, if you use myaffiliate link, you'll get $25
off.
They charge you 1% of yourincome or your invoice to cover

(17:52):
the cost, so I'll pop a link inthe show notes to get $25 off
that Voice Recommend.
Yeah, well, I'm going topiggyback your don't love, which
is the ATO, because we've beensetting some things up for the
business and the same thinghappened to me.
But you know we've discussedthat.
So, my love, it freaking rained.
It rained in South Australia.

(18:12):
I'm in South Australia andwe've got a vineyard and I know
it didn't run in all of SouthAustralia.
My heart goes out to a lot ofthe farmers in South Australia.
The drought is reallysignificant, but we got rain,
which was amazing.
Just enough that it blows mymind that literally three days
ago, it was a dust storm and nowthere's a little bit like the

(18:34):
rain's coming.
There's all this greenness,like I'm here, I'm still here,
I'm trying to live.
So that was cool.
It was just nice, and nice toturn the fire on and be like, oh
, it's winter.
Yeah, I didn't actually realize.
There was a pretty severedrought, you know, in Victoria
and South Australia and I waswatching the news the other
night and a farmer said, if itdoesn, basically because they're
having to get all this watertrucked in and every water truck

(18:57):
is $400 to $600 and they getmultiple trucks in a day and
yeah, it's tough.
Well, I heard something thatbecause there's a hay shortage
and obviously there's no greengrass or anything, so the
animals need to be fed by hay.
And one of the girls I actuallywent to school with, she wrote
this incredible letter to thestate government and one of the

(19:19):
senators read it out.
But they did some stories abouther and she said that it cost
them $8,000 a week to feed theirstock.
Where the fuck does that moneycome from if you're not
generating the income?
Like my heart goes out and asmuch as it's my love, even when
it was raining, like it's notenough, I'll take it, but it's
not enough, I'll take it, butit's not enough.
And then just all these peoplethat are in the drought.

(19:40):
So that's a love, don't love,and it's weird kind of wonderful
way, but that's farming, that'sfarming.
Meanwhile it's flooding in NewSouth Wales.
Like what the hell?
Yeah, outrageous.
Anyway, that's enough weatherchat, we're.
