Recognizing the Divine Voice: How God Communicates With His Children

Sometimes, God even speaks through dramatic encounters—audible voices, angelic messengers, and face-to-face meetings as experienced by Moses, Samuel, and the apostle Paul.

The most profound revelation is that hearing God's voice marks us as belonging to Him. Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." This intimate communication distinguishes authentic believers from those who merely go through religious motions. While the idols of this world remain silent, our living God speaks constantly, guiding us through life's complexities with the tender concern of a loving Father.

Today I'm very happy to talk to you about
how God speaks.
There are many different waysGod speaks to us and we, all of
them, will see that he isspeaking to us constantly.

(00:32):
And the book of Job, after hehas complained that God has been
silent.
Job, friends, Elijah, he saysGod speak again and again,
though people do not recognizeit.

(00:53):
He speaks in dreams and visionsof the night.
When deep sleep falls on peopleas they lie in bed, he whispers

(01:13):
and terrifies them with Hiswarning.
He causes them to change theirminds, he keeps them from weight
Job 32, 33" 14, down to 16, to17.

(01:38):
So learning to hear the words ofGod and knowing how he speaks
is essential for all believers.

And Jesus said in John 10 (01:46):
27- 28, my ships hear my voice and I
know them and they follow meand I give unto them eternal

(02:06):
life and they shall never perish.
Neither shall any man pluckthem out of my hand.
Those who hear God's voice arethose who belong to him, those
who have been saved by his grace, through faith and the love of

(02:28):
Jesus.
These are the sheep who hearand recognize God's voice.
We must belong to him.
Only our God can speak to us.
All the other gods of thenations are just idols.
They are dead.

(02:50):
They have no life.
They are simply made up fromman's imagination.
So Elisha and the Baal prophetsis a classic example.
When you read, for example, whenyou read 1 Kings 18: 16- 48.

Why does that speak to us?
Because we are sons.

(03:35):
Now we are sons of God.
A good father will always speakto his children because he does
not want us to be ignorant ofhis instructions.
So he gives us his word and hisheart is filled Because he

loves us, for Christ, so lovedthe church that he gave himself
for it.
And how does God speak?
God speaks through His Word.

(04:31):
The number one way of healingGod is through His Word.
All other ways are subject toHis Word.
In the beginning was the Word,and the Word was with God, and

the Word was God, according toJohn 1: 1.
Our scriptures is God's breathand is useful for teaching,
correcting and training inrighteousness.

In 2 Timothy 3 (05:03):
16, we read the scriptures.
If you want to heal God, westudy and meditate on His Word.

(05:23):
We should test every other wayby his word.
There's a country with theBible.
If not me, it's not God.

(05:55):
The second way that God speaksto us is through his ministry.

In Ephesians 4 (05:57):
11- 12, the Bible says he himself gave some

(06:18):
to be apostles, some to beprophets, some evangelists and
some pastors and teachers forthe keeping of distance.
Ministry gifts are put in thebody to bring God's word and
God's way to God's people.
To supplement personal studyand prayer, God also speaks by

(06:47):
his spirit.
Hearing the voice of God is asnatural as an idea that comes
into your mind.
In fact, that's often exactlyhow he speaks.
That's often exactly how hespeaks.
A thought occurs to you,something you've never thought

(07:10):
of before, and it leads you tosome kind of action that either
answers a prayer or helpssomeone who is in trouble.
God speaks to us in the naturalmoments of life.

In John 14 (07:29):
26, the scripture says but the Counselor, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father in myname, will teach you all things
and remind you of all I havesaid to you.
So God speaks to others byprophecy.

(07:57):
Prophecy is not coffin, whatGod has already said.
It is always subject to theWord of God.

Isaiah 50 (08:11):
40, 5 Says the Lord, God has given me the time of
the land that I should know howto speak a word and season to

(08:35):
him.
That's weary.
But he who prophesies speaksedification and exhortation and

comfort me 1 Corinthians 14 (08:43):
3.
His eyes speak edification andexhortation and comfort me 1
Corinthians 14:3.
God speaks equally throughdreams and visions.
God speaks to us through ourdreams In Joel 2: 28.
The Bible says your sons andyour daughters shall prophesize,

(09:11):
your old men shall dream andyour young shall see visions.
For example, when you considerthe case of Joseph Joseph sun,
moon and five Stars falling downto him, ships interpreting

(09:36):
other people's dreams, flowersand his chief broker and baker,

Genesis 36 (09:45):
7- 11.
The scripture says in thispassage there we were biding

(10:14):
shifts in the field, shift, Ishift the walls and also stood
up white.
And indeed the shift stood allthe way down and bound down my
shift.
And his ruler said to him shallyou indeed win over us or shall

(10:37):
you indeed have dominion overus?
So they hated him even more forhis dreams, for his works.
Then he dreamed still anotherdream.
He told it to his brothers andsaid Look, I have dreamed

another dream and this time thesun, the moon and the 11 stars
bowed down to me.
So he told it to his father andhis brothers and his father.
He put him and said to him, buthis father kept the matter in

You can also consider the chiefbutler's dream in Genesis 40:

Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezzar3, the metal statue visiting

four world empires, in Daniel 3: 21- 45. (12:01):

And Jesus talked in an audiblevoice.
For example, 10 Commandmentsfrom Mount Sinai, Exodus 21

(12:30):
Exodus 20" 20.
The calling of Samuel In 1Samuel 3, verse 1, down through
verse 10.
Soar on the world to Damascus,soar, soar.

(12:52):
Why are you persecuting me?

Acts 9 (12:55):
2 3-2 6.
And then he has to go to Saulto pray for him and recover his
blindness.
To pray for him and recover hisblindness.
10- 18.

(13:21):
So God speaks face to face.
For example, Moses on themountain in the tent with
Abraham and Genesis 18.
God speaks in a small voice.
Elijah in the cave in 1 Kings19: 11- 12.

(13:45):
And and he said go forth andstand upon the mount before the
Lord and behold, the Lord passedby and a great and a great and

(14:07):
strong and strong wind went themountains and increased the
works before, before the Lord,but the Lord was not.
And they went and they went andthey went, and after the web

(14:28):
and after it, but the Lord wasnot in the earthquake.
After the earthquake, a fire.
But the Lord was not in thefire.
And after the fire there wasstill a small voice.
God speaks through angels toMary about giving birth to the

(14:53):
Messiah.
An angel of the Lord appearedto Joseph three times in a dream
to make Mary his wife, to takehis family on the flight to
Egypt and then to return toNazareth Matthew 1: 18 and

Matthew 2 (15:25):
23.
Angels announced the birth ofChrist after his temptation.

They were learned Matthew 4 (15:38):
11 .
They confronted Jesus and hisagony in the Garden of Man Luke

22 (15:53):
43.
And they proclaimed hisresurrection from the dead John

20 (16:01):
12.
The Angel Gabriel appearedtwice to Daniel Daniel 8: 16,

and Daniel 9 (16:15):
21.
So God, speak through the thatthe Lord will not destroy the
earth by water ever again.

Genesis 9 (16:33):
11- 17.
So God speaks many ways,different ways, to his children,
like a father has to speak tohis children.

(16:58):
God speaks to us constantly,every moment, every occasion.
So we have to learn how to hearHis voice.
That is our Father, how to knowthe voice of our Father.
When we read the scriptures andmeditate them, you will hear

(17:29):
the voice of God, because thatis our Father.
The children have to listen tothe voice of his Father and we
are the children of God.
We have to know the voice ofGod.
