Want real travel savings without the fine-print traps? We’re unpacking the best Black Friday offers across airlines, tours, and cruises—and showing you where the true value lives. We start with Delta’s new Comfort Basic fares and draw a firm line between perks and pitfalls: more legroom and zone three boarding, but Basic-like restrictions with delayed seat assignments and no redeemable miles. Then we pair it with Delta Vacations, where package pricing counts toward MQDs, SkyMiles members score tiered bonus miles, and the current promo window stretches bookings into 2026. If you’re chasing elite status or planning a big family trip, this combo can move the needle fast.

Cruise fans get a full slate of updates and promos. Norwegian Cruise Line names Jacksonville its newest Florida homeport, adding easy drive-to itineraries from 4- and 5-day Bahamas escapes to 11- and 12-day Caribbean routes. We react to Disney Adventure’s headline feature—the Groot Galaxy Spin—and why some travelers are wary of spin rides at sea. Margaritaville at Sea leans into music culture with a Zac Brown-designed concert venue on the new Beachcomber sailing from Miami, aimed squarely at casual, beach-forward travelers who want live acts built into their voyage.

River cruise lovers will want to circle Avalon Waterways’ Black Friday deal: free prepaid gratuities and free airfare to Europe for 2026 departures when booked by December 10. It’s a rare, high-clarity offer that removes two major cost variables while delivering those signature Panorama Suites that face the water. We round up the big ocean cruise sales—Azamara, Celebrity, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, and Margaritaville at Sea—highlighting who benefits most: families stacking third and fourth guests free, couples eyeing adult-only options, and travelers timing status runs with package booking windows.

And he's in the studio rightnow.
And uh just a sincere thank youfor taking the time to stop and
listen.
This week we're talking aboutall things Black Friday.
We've got Delta Vacations,we've got cruise promotions,

(02:07):
we've got Globus and Cosmos tourBlack Friday deals.
Delta is introducing theircomfort basic fares.
Cruises going in and out ofJacksonville, and there are some
travelers that are just simplynot sold on Disney's newest
cruise ship feature.
And we'll give you the detailscoming up here in the next few
minutes.
And joining me as he does eachand every week, the owner of

(02:31):
Blue PlanetVacations.com is MarkFaldmo.
It's good to see you, brother.
Good to be here.
Should we jump right into thetravel news headlines?
Let's do.
Okay.
I have experience with thisfirst one just today.
Really?
Okay.
All right.
Delta Airlines is debutingcomfort basic fares.

Mark Faldmo (02:54):
What are the details?
This is just like economy.
So basic economy, classiceconomy, and extra economy.
They've added this to now thecomfort fairs.
So if you want more legroom, ifyou want to board in zone
three, if you want thosecomplementary beverages, but at
a lower price point, you can getcomfort basic.
If you do purchase comfortbasic, it has the same

(03:16):
restrictions as economy basic.
Your seat assignment until youcheck in.

Patrick Wiscombe (03:21):
Oh wait, so you don't know your seat.

Mark Faldmo (03:23):
You don't know your seat.
So it'll most likely be amiddle seat.
You don't earn miles.
Oh, you don't pick economy.
You do earn the MQDs, but youdon't earn miles.
That will get you to status.

Patrick Wiscombe (03:36):
Status meaning the the uh diamonds.
Silver, gold.
Silver, gold.

Mark Faldmo (03:40):
Okay, all right.
Yes.
Yep.
And then the miles are what youwould actually redeem for
travel.
So you'll still earn towardsstatus, but you will not earn
towards redeeming miles forfuture travel.
So I'm going to Cancun nextweek, and I decided to bring
Heather along.
So getting her ticket, I didhave these choices, and we went
with the comfort classic, so shecould sit by me.

Patrick Wiscombe (04:03):
Southwest is considering airport lounges and
transatlantic flying.
That's a new development.

Mark Faldmo (04:10):
It is.
With all of the changes they'vemade lately, they're trying to
be more of a mainstream airline.
They want to add more long-haulflights, they want to add
lounges and premium seats.
They haven't made any officialannouncements, but the uh CEO
has made all of these hints toall of these things.

(04:32):
So they are really expandingtheir code share agreement.
In the past, we've talkedabout, I think it was
Icelandair.
They added an Asian carrier.
I think the name of it is HanAir just recently in the last
two or three weeks.
And so they are building thisnetwork of international flying,
which will help them launchSouthwest labeled fairs.

Patrick Wiscombe (04:55):
I saw this news story, Mark, that there is
a new way to enjoy Hunama Bay.
Now, if people don't know whereHunama Bay is, where is it?

Mark Faldmo (05:03):
And then Hunama Bay is on Oahu, um in Honolulu, and
it is a really good snorkelingplace.
It's a a beach and a bay, andyou kind of have to go down a
pretty steep road to get to it.

Patrick Wiscombe (05:16):
Was this near Diamond Head?

Mark Faldmo (05:17):
It's near Diamond Head, yes.
It's not open every day.
They limit the number of peoplethat are allowed in there.
When I was there two weeks agodriving past Hunama Bay, this is
at like 10 a.m.
and they were completely full.
So they weren't any new carsin.
So it's really hard to get inthere.
You do have to pay a reefconservation fee.

(05:38):
But they've announced a newway, some transportation using
Roberts, Hawaii.
So it's a tour to Hunama Bay,and they hope this will help
alleviate the vehiclecongestion.
If you're on the tour, you'llget into Hunama Bay.
So you don't have to drivethere and hope that you'll get
in or leave at 5 a.m.
to be one of the first in lineto get into Hunama Bay.

(05:59):
That does not interest me.
I love Hunama Bay.
I remember when I was a child,we used to go there all the
time, and then it became reallypopular and a little bit too
crowded.
Now that it's not open everyday and they limit the number of
people in, it's back to beingthat nice place to snorkel.
On Oahu, it's probably one ofthe best places to snorkel.
The cost of the tour is $65 peradult or $40 per child.

(06:23):
Yes.

Patrick Wiscombe (06:24):
I like the reef fee.
It's probably from all the uhsuntan lotion.
Yes going out into the ocean.
You gotta go clean the coral.
As I mentioned right at the topof the show, and as we were
coming in, this is all aboutBlack Friday deals.
But let's start with Globus andCosmos Tours, their Black
Friday deal.

Mark Faldmo (06:42):
Globus has a thousand dollars per couple off
to select 2026 Globus Toursworldwide.
Wow.
That thousand dollars off isvalid through December 10th.
About three and a half weeksthen.
And then for Cosmos, it's 500per couple.
Cosmos is I don't want to saylower end.

(07:04):
They stay at hotels along theoutskirts of town to save you
some money, whereas Globus toursinclude a little bit more, and
they actually stay in morecentralized hotels, is the
difference between the two.

Patrick Wiscombe (07:17):
Okay, so Cosmos a little more budget
friendly, and then Globus juststay pretty much in the city
centers, closer to the action.

Mark Faldmo (07:24):
Yeah.

Patrick Wiscombe (07:25):
Okay.

Mark Faldmo (07:25):
Yeah, it's that's fair.
I like the panorama tours thatGlobus has that are
multi-country.
So, you know, like start inLondon, go to the Netherlands,
go to Germany, go toSwitzerland, go to France, and
then end in France.
Or you can do country specificand just focus on one country.
A really good way to see theworld through Globus or Cosmos.

(07:49):
Let's get to the travel deal ofthe week.

Patrick Wiscombe (07:55):
This this week it's gonna be Delta Vacations
and all of their Black Fridaydeals.
Now, I know that you need topull up your email probably to
go over everything.
Just for clarification, there'sDelta Airlines.
Is it another company or is itjust a subsidiary within Delta?
It's a subsidiary within Delta.
Okay, so Delta Vacations, thisis when they group airfare,

(08:17):
hotel cars, they kind of groupeverything together.

Mark Faldmo (08:20):
Correct.
And make a vacation package outof everything.
Yeah, by far is the best way togo.
You get special airfare ratesand you get special hotel rates.
So when you package thingstogether, you do get a better
rate on the whole overallpackage.
So right now, their deal goesthrough December 4th.
In order to get this, you dohave to be a Sky Miles member.

(08:41):
Well, and that's free anyway.
It's free to join, and it doescome with some perks.
So Sky Miles members save up to$250 off the cost of the
package, but then a couple ofbonuses you earn up to an
additional 10,000 Sky Miles toredeem towards future trips.
Okay.

(09:02):
That's a tiered bonus.
So depending on the cost of thetrip, it goes from a thousand
to five thousand to tenthousand, depending on the cost
of the trip.
And then the one thing I likeabout Delta Vacations is your
whole purchase counts for MQDstowards status.
Yep.
And so Patrick, I know it wasabout two years ago you went to

(09:22):
Hawaii, and that package that webooked you just alone got you
to gold medallion status withDelta just for booking the
package.
So Yep.
We went from nothing to goldstatus just in one trip.
And actually, the average costof a trip will get you to silver
medallion status with Delta.

Patrick Wiscombe (09:42):
Which by the way, between now and the end of
the year, you and I need to talkabout medallion qualifying
dollars.
I've got to spend about anextra 1500 so I can get status
for 2026.
We can get you there.
All right.
Maybe I'll go to Cancun withyou.
Yep.
All right.

Mark Faldmo (09:58):
Sorry.
I am going twice in the nextthree weeks.
So I'm sorry.
Let's get back to the uh DeltaVacations Black Friday deals.
So those are good to anywherein the world.
Hawaii, all-inclusive Mexico,Europe.
Uh again, you just have to bookby December 4th and travel
anytime in 2026.

Patrick Wiscombe (10:18):
I'm telling you, if you like to fly, you
like to go on vacations, and youlike to receive perks, Delta
Vacations truly is a great wayto go.
Take advantage of those BlackFriday deals.
Call Mark in the office as soonas we get off the air here.

Just Cruising segment.
The segment of the show thathas made us famous around the
country and around the world.
And to all aboard.

(13:40):
Ahoy, Matees.
Ahoy.
Coming up in this segment,we'll be talking about
Jacksonville, Florida-basedcruises.
And uh we're gonna go chickenfried a little bit.
We'll explain.
And then we've got more BlackFriday deals.
Avalon Waterways is on deck, one of Mark's favorite

(14:01):
companies.
And we've got Black Fridaycruise promotions.
So let's get right into thecruise news headlines.
Let's start off inJacksonville, Florida, Mark.
Norwegian Cruise Lines islaunching the first ever
Jackson-based Florida-basedcruises.

Mark Faldmo (14:17):
Norwegian now has their third home port in
Florida.
So they have Miami, PortCanaveral, and now Jacksonville.
So they have three ports goingthere.
And now Jacksonville, I thinkprimarily will be a drive
market, but they do have somepretty good options.
They have four-day Bahamascruises, five-day Bahamas
cruises, and then 11 and 12-dayCaribbean cruises.

(14:41):
Okay.
That leave out of Jacksonville.
I was just looking for themonth of February, for instance.
So they have a four-day cruisethat's Grand Bahama Island,
which is where we went, Patrick, and uh Great Stirrup Key.
So their private island.
It's a tender port.
It's a tender island.
Correct.
Until they build their pier, which they're working on.

Patrick Wiscombe (15:03):
Right.
And it has some of the bestsand and views I have ever seen
in my life.
It is a sneaky great island togo to.

Mark Faldmo (15:13):
Yeah.
You know, the first time I wentthere, you basically landed
there by World War II landingcraft where the the thing comes
down and you walk on board andthere's a couple beach chairs
set up and a a place wherethey're cooking hot dogs and
hamburgers, and that was aboutit to now a fully developed
private island.
And they do not beat you.

Patrick Wiscombe (15:33):
Correct.
Anymore.

Mark Faldmo (15:35):
At least you tender in for now.
Yep.
And so the five day is GrandBahama, Nassau, and Great
Stirrup K.
The 11 day is Puerto Plata inDominican Republic, Portola, St.
John, San Juan, Great StirrupK, and back to Jacksonville.
And the 12-day adds inPhillipsburg, St.

(15:56):
Martin on that itinerary.

Patrick Wiscombe (15:58):
Maho Beach.
Can you tell I really lovedMaho Beach?
I can.
Your YouTube post was prettygood for it.
So okay, so if no one knowswhat Maho Beach is and what
Saint Phillipsburg St.
Martin, it's where the planesliterally fly in over your head.
There's ocean, there's sand,and then there's the airport
right behind you.

(16:18):
And jets and planes just comein right feet over your head.
It is absolutely terrifying andexhilarating all in the same
moment.
Awesome.
Definitely worth doing.
It is.
By the way, speaking of theYouTube channel, I've got a
longer video of Maho Beach thanI'm getting ready.
That's good.
I'll be looking forward toseeing that.

(16:40):
YouTube.com slash the vacationnerd.
YouTube.com slash the vacationnerd is how you find it.
I thought this story wasinteresting, Mark, that
travelers are not sold byDisney's newest cruise ship
elaborate feature.
First of all, what cruise shipand what is the elaborate
feature?

Mark Faldmo (16:59):
This is the Disney Adventure.
Oh, the brand new ship.
Yeah, it's slated to come outin March of 2026.

Patrick Wiscombe (17:07):
Oh, this is the one that was delayed for
like three months.

Mark Faldmo (17:10):
Yeah, and so it is going to have a ride called
Groot Galaxy Spin.
I am Groot.
Looking at the reviews of this, people are saying you shouldn't
put a spinny ride like that ona cruise ship.
People are going to fall offinto the water.
And so there's severaldifferent rides on this, but

(17:33):
it's mainly that Groot Galaxyspin that people aren't too
thrilled about.

Patrick Wiscombe (17:37):
I'd be more worried about the Dizzy after
the spin.

Mark Faldmo (17:40):
Yes.
The new ship, Disney's going tobring seven themed areas to the
Disney adventure.
There's the Disney ImaginationGarden, Disney Discovery Reef,
Marvel Landing, which Disneydescribed as a celebration of
all things Marvel.

Patrick Wiscombe (17:58):
Iron Man.
That was a great movie.
The first one.

Mark Faldmo (18:01):
So those are just three of the seven areas that
they've announced so far on theDisney Adventure new cruise
ship.

Patrick Wiscombe (18:08):
Zack Brown Band.
Are you a fan?
I am.
I I kind of like that beachcountry sound.
Yeah, okay.
Zack Brown Band is designing aconcert venue for Margaritaville
at sea, the cruise ship.
So my first thought was itmakes me wonder if they're going
chicken fried somehow whileinside the venue.
Inside the venue, yeah.

(18:28):
But so you and I have been onuh Margaritaville at sea
paradise, and then they have onethat comes out of Tampa, and
I'm just blanking on the nameright now.
So this will actually be thebiggest of the Margaritaville at
sea cruise ships called the Didyou say it was the Beachcomber?
Yeah, Beachcomber.

Mark Faldmo (18:45):
Yeah, the Beach Comer.
Okay.
So this will be their thirdship, the Beach Comer.
Zach Brown designed concertvenue is called The Same Boat,
uh, which is actually a songthat Zach Brown worked on with
Jimmy Buffett in 2021, Ibelieve.

Patrick Wiscombe (19:02):
And the perfect collaboration.

Mark Faldmo (19:05):
The same boat.
Yeah, the renderings of thespace look pretty amazing.
So cruise ships have alwaysdone a good job at kind of
imagining spaces.
And I think this will beperfect for what Margarita Villa
Sea wants to do.
It'll be a place for guestartists, a place where they can
have regularly scheduledentertainment as well.

(19:26):
And this ship, I don't recallif we mentioned it, but it will
go out of Miami, is where it'llgo.
So it'll be their first shipout of Miami.

Patrick Wiscombe (19:32):
I mean, that's a pretty busy port, the port of
Miami.
It is.
Yeah, it's the busiest in theworld.
Are they building it out?
Because I don't know wherethey're gonna put another
company.

Mark Faldmo (19:42):
They'll probably have this cruise go on like a
Wednesday or something whenthere's more space.
So yeah, definitely on theweekends.
I don't think there's any spacefor another ship out of Miami.

Patrick Wiscombe (19:53):
I just remember the name of the ship.
Margaritaville at sea islander.
That's the one that goes out ofTampa Bay.
Tampa.
Yeah.
We still have more Black Fridaydeals that we need to get to
right now.
This one has to do with AvalonWaterways, and then after this,
we're gonna get to all of theother Black Friday cruise
promotions.
So let's start with AvalonWaterways.

Mark Faldmo (20:15):
So Avalon Waterways, River Cruise Company
in Europe, their Black Fridaysale goes through December 10th,
and it's free, prepaidgratuities along with free
airfare to Europe.
And that is for any 2026departure.

Patrick Wiscombe (20:32):
Okay, that's a good promotion.
If there's no blackout dates, that's a phenomenal offer in the
free airfare to Europe.

Mark Faldmo (20:39):
It is.
Yeah.
We've had TJ on the showtalking about Avalon.
I just love the cabins atAvalon.
I think they're the best in theindustry.
Because the beds actually facethe big picture window.

Patrick Wiscombe (20:52):
Yeah.
Normally you have to get up orthe bed doesn't even face the
window.
You have to get up and gooutside.
But if you just want to stay inbed and look out the window,
you can do that on Avalonwaterways.

Mark Faldmo (21:02):
And a river cruise, great way to see your.
I think we talked about this alittle bit last week, but you
stop at the small littlevillages that most tourists
wouldn't even go to.
You do get some of the bigcities as well.
But it's a well-rounded Europeexperience on a river cruise.

Patrick Wiscombe (21:19):
Let's get the actual cruise deal of the week,
which is the Black Friday cruisepromotions.
Man, there's a lot here.
Where do you want to start onthis one?

Mark Faldmo (21:27):
This is just kind of a list of all of the cruise
lines that have put Black Fridaysales out so far.
But I'll just go down and saywhat they are.
The first one, and this is inalphabetical order, so in no
particular order other thanalphabetical.
Asmara, um, which is a smallship cruise line.
Their ships hold about 600people.

(21:48):
They have a Black Friday fairsup to $4,000 off select sailing,
plus a $500 onboard credit.
I really like Asmara.
Again, just because of thesize, I'm more of a small ship
person.
And then moving on, celebritiesBlack Friday offer.
And this goes through December8th, and it's up to 75% off

(22:11):
second guest, plus up to $700 inextra savings.
Those are good through sailingson the books through May 10th
of 2028.

Patrick Wiscombe (22:22):
Now hold on.
So I can take advantage of thisone because you and I have been
talking about uh a Norwegianfjords cruise for me and Nikki.
Correct.
Ooh, should we take a look atthis one?
Yeah, we can look at that one.
Nothing like doing a littleon-air self-vacationing here.
That's a good deal.
What else?

Mark Faldmo (22:40):
And then Margaritaville at Sea that we
just talked about, they have apromotion of an all-new cruise
bundle.
So that contains their ultimatebeverage chill package and free
Wi-Fi if you book during BlackFriday.
And if you like cheeseburgers, just go to Cheeseburgers in
Paradise.
Norwegian Cruise Line isoffering 50% off all cruises.

Show Voice (23:04):
Really?

Mark Faldmo (23:05):
Uh for now.
It looks like they're gonnachange it because this is going
through November 18th.
Um, but I'm sure they'll changeit slightly.
So basically, the next few daysis 50% off.
Okay, all right.
Royal Caribbean is a thousanddollars off cruise fares plus
third and fourth guests sellfree in the stateroom.

(23:25):
This is great for kids if youhave larger families.
They do have a few cabins thatwill hold up to five people.
And so if you get five peoplein the cabin where two pay the
regular fare, that's minus athousand dollars plus third and
fourth and fifth cruise free.
Wow, that's a pretty good deal.
And then the the last one we'lltalk about is Virgin Voyages.

(23:46):
This goes through December 4th.
They have buy one, get thesecond guest at 80% off, plus up
to a $400 bar tab.
And Virgin Voyages also hascruises starting at $99 per
person per night with that sale.

Patrick Wiscombe (24:03):
So you know that's so easy to market.
$99 per person per day.

Mark Faldmo (24:08):
You know, it's almost hard to stay home for $99
per person.

Patrick Wiscombe (24:12):
Take advantage of those offers.
Call Mark in the office to bookit.
888-718-7717, 888-718-7717.
And he'll also post this onblueplanetvacations.com.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
