SPECIAL GUEST SECTION Who is Cathy MacRae? Cathy MacRae, MWP™ was a true novice when she started down the entrepreneurial path and began her company Creative Weddings Planning & Design fourteen years ago. She loves learning and jumped in with both feet to gain the necessary marketing and business skills required to run her business while on the job. She had used social media before in a casual capacity, but quickly came to recognize the importance it now plays as a critical marketing tool, especially for those in the wedding industry looking for ways to connect with potential new customers. Creative Weddings Planning & Design is now one of the top planning and design companies in the Calgary area and the Canadian Rocky Mountain communities of Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise. Her clients want a bespoke wedding that tells their story and makes hearts skip a beat. Over the years she has worked to master these skills, particularly using Instagram and other social media platforms. She has since developed a second company, Someday Consulting, where she focuses on social media management, digital marketing, and working as a business coach to teach creative entrepreneurs how to scale their business and connect with their ideal clients through organic measures using social media. She has developed online courses to help wedding professionals learn more about social media marketing and identifying their ideal client. She is the ABC Country Coordinator for Canada, volunteers her time as the social media manager for the Association of Bridal Consultants.
