As Ishara reflected on her understanding of Memorial Day, she  choose to read "Jovita Wore Pants -The Story of a Mexican Freedom Fighter," Written by Jovita's great-niece and Américas Award-winner Aida Salazar and Illustrate by  Eisner Award-honoree Molly Mendoza.  Jovita Valdovinos true story incredible! Ishara felt Jovita reminded her of one of her favorite pretend heroes Mulan, who disguises herself as a male warrior in order to save her father.  Join Ishara on the podcast or watch on her YouTube channel as she reads aloud Jovita's remarkable story of determination, resourcefulness, bravery and against all odds lead her peasant army to fight for their religious rights.
