Bentornati e buon anno!

Welcome back and happy new year! This episode marks the start of the 9th season of  🇮🇹ITALIANO ON-AIR🎙️! Every Wednesday, we will publish a new episode dedicated to the Italian language, where you can learn new terms, expressions, and grammatical rules and practice listening.

We want to start the year by talking about peace and its flag, a beloved tradition in Italy.

On many Italian terraces, you can see a flag featuring rainbow colors with the word “PEACE” in the center. This tradition dates back to 1961, during the first “March for Peace and Brotherhood of Peoples,” which is now better known as the Perugia-Assisi march. The event was started by Aldo Capitini, a figure often likened to the Italian Gandhi.

In this episode focused on peace, we hope all the wars tearing our planet apart will end soon.
