a sports entertainment capacity, and we're here to bring you all

(00:27):
the behind the scenes and juicystuff that goes on that the
fans.
See from a distance, but maybethey don't know what goes on
behind the scenes and that'swhat we're doing here.
By the way, I love your t-shirt.
Thank you.
I just got this from the teamstore last game.
This is like totally me.
I don't know if you can see it,but yeah, it's very understated.
it's got the Little Mavericklogo Nike Swoosh.

(00:49):
if y'all don't know, we are onYouTube as well, so you can
watch this whole thing oncamera.
We are camera ready, as theysay, with our glamorous hair and
makeup.
My hair's actually still wet.
I don't know if I'm all glammedup, but here we go.
Nicole, you also just got backfrom San Diego?
Yes, yes, I did.
What?
I've never been there.
I hear it's gorgeous.
This snowing.

(01:10):
It was my first time too.
I'm so, it was snowing outthere.
Literally though.
I mean, you might as well say itwas snowing.
It was my first time out in SanDiego, and I've heard that it's
like 70, 80 degrees.
Always sun shining.
The whole entire weekend I wasthere, nothing but downpour
rain.
super disappointing, but madethe most of it.
Got to see some friends thatlive out there, Just would've
love the sunshine.

(01:30):
I know.
It's crazy.
Cheesy Louise.
By the way, when you were out oftown, I started working out.
I'm getting ready forspringtime.
Look at these guns.
I know you always look good.
I'm excited because it's been adecade since I've been in the
gym because I am like an extremeintrovert in situations like
that.
So going to the gym isliterally, The worst nightmare

(01:51):
for me because there's so manypeople and I just feel like
everyone's staring at you andthinking like, oh, she's not
doing that right.
Or she should be up there doingsome more cardio, or whatever.
it's just part of my likeanxiety of going to the gym,
just freaking out and worryingabout.
interacting with strangers.
I know.
the gym is not my thing either.
I've never been working in thegym.
Ask the gym.

(02:11):
Mm-hmm.
No, I don't.
If I go into the gym, I have noclue what to do.
And I feel the same way.
I'm like, am I doing this right?
I don't even know what to workout.
I'm a big yoga girl.
So yoga is my workout.
used to do it a lot and latelyI've kind of been slacking, so I
really need to get back into.
So you were, you're a yogi?
I'm a yogi.

(02:32):
I usually have been for the pastfew years doing these workouts
at home, which I absolutelylove.
And that was fine when it wasjust Corey and I and we didn't
have kids.
And then when I had one kid, itwas still okay because while
he's napping, I could go outthere and do like my little 20
minute workout video.
But now when you have twochildren at home and they're not
napping at the same time, there's no way I could get my
workout done.
I'm not doing like, you know, anhour's worth of workout.

(02:52):
I'm doing 20 minutes people, wegot 20 minutes to go.
That means I have five minutesand then I got 20 minutes in the
gym and then five minutes home.
So that's my little window Butwhen I went there for the first
time a few days ago, I just wentimmediately to the mat and just
started stretching cuz I waslike, what am I doing here?
There was two people in therewhen I got there and I was like,
immediate panic, sweating, likewhat am I gonna do?
I dunno.
So I'm just over therestretching, until I could figure

(03:14):
out what to do.
So then I lifted some dumbbells,Getting these arms nice and
strong and.
then I hopped on the StairMasterthing, you know why I did that
is because I can't even get upthe stairs at the American
Airline Center without huffingand puffing.
So that is, that is the machinethat is like one of the best
machines, and that's honestlyone of my favorites.
To be honest.
I'm a big stair girl, so like Iused to run stairs or stadiums

(03:37):
all the time.
Right.
So yes, I, that's like mycardio.
Oh my gosh.
I.
I can't run to save my life, butum, yeah.
Love the stairs.
I actually was able to climbeight floors, so I feel like
that's really sad actually, Ionly did eight minutes the first
day, but eight floors.
That should be the top of thecourse.
What?
Yes.
Yeah.
And, and since then I was 12floors the next time, I went 18

(04:01):
floors the last time.
So anyways, next time we have atime out and we're on the wrong
side of the.
This girl right here is gonnahave no trouble getting to the
other side, up the stairs andtalking on the mic so you can
mark my words about that.
Speaking of that, last time wewere up on that platform, we had
a super cute contestant with us.
He was 18, 19 maybe, and Thatwas the day that I was a little
flustered, Yeah.

(04:21):
There was a lot going on.
There was a lot going on, but wewere trying to hold it together,
you know?
And he was so nice and soexcited to do the timeout.
And I remember you told me thisthing about the power stance
that I needed to do, which Ifeel like after working out in
the gym, I'm gonna like excel atthat as well.
I thought it was cool.
It worked.
It's called like the fivesecond, or I might be making
that up, but it's just the powerstand.

(04:42):
So I think I picked this up froma TED talk way back in the day,
and it was just talking aboutwhenever you have like a lot of
adrenaline or anxiety or you'renervous about something, you
literally just expand your armsall the way out and you're
almost a starfish.
oh, and you just hold it thereand take like a couple deep.
And I'm telling you guys, itjust calms your body down.

(05:04):
that game there was so muchgoing on.
I know everybody was flustered.
We were trying to figure outwhen the timeout was happening.
And I just looked at Allie and Isaid, just do the power stance.
And she was like, do what?
What?
And I was like, just do thepower stance and it'll make you
feel better.
And you did it.
It made me feel betterimmediately, guys.
It was, it was amazing.
It actually worked and Iinstantly was like, okay, I'm

(05:26):
ready to do this.
I felt calm, I felt strong.
You ready for your hint Andokay.
You know what?
Funny story.
So before the games start, wealways go into media dining,
where they give us dinner andsnacks before the game kicks off
and one game, we were allsitting at a table and me and
Allie.
Talking about the power stancewith a group of guys.

(05:46):
so I was telling'em about thepower stance.
Like anytime that you're in astressful situation, just do the
power stance or like before aninterview, I'm telling you, it
just gives you so muchconfidence and you weren't here,
but it was a couple games later,I was sitting at the Dining
table and one of the guys, anolder gentleman, came down and
sat and he was like, Hey, I justwanna let you know I tried the
power stance the other day andhe was like, that really worked.

(06:09):
I'm not even kidding.
So then I'm sitting at a tablewith completely new people, so I
start telling them about thepower.
Yeah.
I'm gonna be doing that at theMaps I love it.
And you.
Thinking about the psychologybehind it.
By the way, sometimes as a stagemanager, you also have to be my
psychologist slash therapist andget me in the right mindset.
Sorry about that.
but the psychology of it, youknow me and I love to have my

(06:31):
theories and Lord knows they'reprobably totally wrong, but in
this instance, when I thinkabout like when a cat is trying
to make themselves look big andpowerful, oh, hear me out.
They turn to the side and Theytry to make themselves look.
Same with bulls.
He raise bulls when they're, Andbears.
Yes.
So this is a thing, it's like ananimal instinct.
You're like, wow, I'm way biggerand stronger than I feel yes.

(06:53):
I'm ready to take the worldkinda thing.
It just like gives you aconfidence.
And Whenever things are crazy, Ijust look at Allie.
Power stance.
So if anyone's ever watching uson the platform and just sees us
like start fishing it out, startfishing out.
You guys know what we're doing,Oh my gosh.
can we talk about, while I wasoutta town I saw on Dallas,
Texas tv Instagram, which showsoh, all the drama, all the

(07:17):
things.
There was a proposal that wentwrong at the Mavs game this past
Sunday against the Lakers, whichwas a huge game.
LeBron was back in town Afterbreaking the record, I saw so
much happen in that game, Youwere there.
I wasn't, I'm so upset that Iwas not there.
I need to know the details aboutthis proposal.

(07:37):
Was it staged, was it not?
What happened?
All right, let's spill the T andtalk about the proposal.
So if you all did not see thison social media, what happened
was the Mavs occasionally willallow people to have proposals.
On camera, right?
it's something that's verythoroughly vetted.
and there's all kinds of thingsthat fall into line for that to
happen.

(07:58):
So, during this particulartimeout, it was a show us your
signs timeout.
So everybody on the screen wasgetting excited and they were
showing their signs, like, goLuca and Beach Feed la like all
the cute signs that they've madeat the arena.
And, The idea was at the end ofthat, we were gonna go to this
couple and they were gonna showtheir signs, and then Champ was
gonna come down and show a signthat says, will you marry me?

(08:21):
Yeah.
So that was like a big reveal.
That's so sweet.
Right?
So cute.
Cute idea.
So, the timeout starts, everybody's showing their signs.
I'm watching cuz I know what'scoming up and you know me, I'm a
sucker for these, I'm gonna becrying in about 30 seconds, then
finally they get to the coupleand it's this blonde guy and,
Brunette gal, and they're lookso happy to be on camera and
everything.
And then Champ comes down thestairs and he opens his sign up

(08:44):
and it says, will you marry me?
And the music starts and thenI'm looking at her and I'm
looking at him and I feel liketime just stops.
You know?
Something weird was going on.
She was reading a sign over andover on camera, And I'm like,
okay, girl.
now is your time.
He's on one.
right on camera, And then shegoes over to him and she leans
down and she's talking to him oncamera, as the Marry Me or

(09:08):
whatever cute song is playing inthe background, champ is there
holding the sign, things aretaking a little bit longer for
her to say Yes.
Yes.
Like normally it's like aninstant.
I'm so excited.
Yes.
I'm gonna marry you.
Hugs and everything.
I've already started to cry atthis point though, because I
thought it was so cute at thevery, very beginning.
I know what's coming.
Well, lo and behold, she'stalking to him as he's on Juan
Knee, she leans down, she sayingsomething to him, and then she

(09:31):
stands up and bolts out of thearena, runs up the concourse,
and just beelines for the exit.
And everyone in the arena.
Oh my gosh.
Whoa.
now, now everyone that works forthe Mavs, we know this is not
staged by the maps.
Right?
That was a total shock.
We are all freaking out.
I don't think we've ever hadanybody say no on camera.

(09:53):
I mean, at least say yes andthen tell'em no when you get off
camera.
You know what I mean?
That's what I'm thinking.
this whole story just goes on anemotional rollercoaster and
twists and turns for the nextthree quarters as we're trying
to figure out what happened, Soimmediately, it goes on Dallas,
Texas tv.
It was moments after it, it's onthere and it's like, girl, says
no and that's what you saw.

(10:14):
me being the investigativejournalist that I am, I'm like,
I'm going to.
I gotta figure out, what wentdown So I'm gonna try to find
Champ's assistant and see if Ican get any information for
y'all on the, it's a lot y'allpodcast because I'm trying to
get the scoop for everybodyhere.
And, he says the girl was cryingwhen she ran out.
Champ had no idea.
Nobody had any idea.
So I wanna make it clear thiswas not staged by the Dallas

(10:37):
Mavericks guys.
Right.
Okay.
And we would know, that's thething, if we staged something we
a hundred percent know.
But it's so crazy too, becauseat that moment I saw Champ was
holding the sign and as soon asshe walked off, you could tell,
champ was like, and he justclosed the sign.
it was a dramatic exit.
So I was like, what's going on?
I need details.
but wait, there's more.
So I also hear that she leaneddown and said, are you serious?

(11:02):
And he said, yes.
And she goes, oh.
H e double hockey sticks.
No, and ran out.
So now we're like, okay, thismaybe was real.
Well then a couple of ticketsalespeople apparently knew the
girl and they're like, wait asecond.
That's weird.
We know her and she's single.
So now the story continues tounfold.

(11:23):
then we're all starting to thinkthis was, a joke on her, or
maybe it was their first date,or we just didn't know what to
think.
Right?
Meanwhile, it was sponsored byMichael's, the Arts and Craft
supply store.
Okay.
And they were at this game.
So if you don't know when thesponsor reps are at the game, it
is imperative that everythinggoes perfect.
So it was just smooth.

(11:44):
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, we had no answers forthem.
So just to make a really longstory short, I'll tell you what
the whole thing was.
Basically The guy lost atfantasy football, and so his
punishment was that he had topropose to a girl at the Mavs
game on.
this is what we've now come toknow.
Now, I don't know a hundredpercent but this is the latest T

(12:07):
is that it was a, punishment forlosing fantasy football and that
she was possibly recruited to bea part of it.
So it was staged between themtwo, but not the map.
So we had nothing to do with it.
Right.
So that is the scoop that weknow as of now There you have
it.
So I don't know if I'mdisappointing anybody.
Interesting.
Yeah, no, that's actually veryinteresting because in the video

(12:30):
I feel like her running out wassuper dramatic and then the way
he reacts made it look staged.
but it's interesting if it was afantasy football, like, the
loser, what they have to domm-hmm.
But I wonder if she was a partof that or if this was a first
date and he did that.
And the reason why she wascrying.
Because Right.
If so, that's so messed up.

(12:52):
I know.
So messed up.
So we'll try to get a little bitmore information there, but wow.
It sounds like either it waskind of a first date situation
or she was in on it, which Ithink she had to have been in on
it, But if she was a poor thing, cuz for this next week until
something else crazy happens.
She's really she's the talk ofthe town.
She's the talk of the town andyeah, you don't wanna be that

(13:12):
after that happened, I had to goback to my dressing room and get
a little touched up duringhalftime and let's just say
Lakers in town, there iseverybody under the sun comes to
this game.
Mm-hmm.
If celebrities are in Dallas, ifthey're in town doing something,
they're there.
If they live in Dallas area, they're there.
So this is when all thecelebrities come out.

(13:32):
I cannot believe you missed thisgate.
I know.
Oh geez.
But Erica Badu was one of thecelebs at this game.
And during halftime, I'm gettingready to go into, my locker room
to get ready for my hit in thethird quarter.
And as I'm about to walk in,guess who's walking out of my,
dressing room?
Erica Badu.
What?
Yeah, so her and along with likean entourage of eight are coming

(13:57):
out of the little bathroom thatI get ready in.
Yeah.
Nicole, you know what I'mgetting ready.
It is Spazzy.
I have stuff all over thatdressing room.
y'all.
I change at the arena.
So like we've got undergarments,we've got socks, we've got
makeup outfits, hurling irons,right?
Shoes, I mean, it is a mess inthere.
And I see her walking out andall I can think.

(14:18):
Oh my gosh.
What did she see?
This like, I'm embarrassed.
So embarrassing.
I'm so embarrassed.
And dj, poison Ivy is coming outwith her and I'm.
Oh my God, Ivy, I didn't knowy'all were gonna go in there.
I'm so sorry.
And Avi's like, no, no.
I just had to take her in there.
Yeah, I would've cleaned up alittle bit.
like, when you have a guest comeinto your house, you know, you
vacuum, you get ready.
I would've cleaned it up inthere for her.

(14:39):
So anyways, I apologize to herand her entourage, she had a
great tall hat on.
Super cute outfit.
Her voice is amazing.
Love her music.
also, you know who's in thehouse?
Patrick Mahomes.
I did see that Super Bowl champ.
Gosh, they are just the cutestever.
Him and his wife.
they look like they were havinga great time.
if you wanna see the behind thescenes, I know DJ Poison Ivy

(14:59):
presented them with like a supercool jersey from the Mavs and
all kinds of little.
Prize packs, I guess you wouldcall it.
and you can see that on herInstagram.
But super cool that he was inthe house.
the fans loved.
Yes, yes.
Yeah.
Especially being from Texas, Ithink everybody enjoys when he
comes back and supports hishometown, you know, professional
sports teams and especially justcoming off the Super Bowl win,

(15:20):
super cool to have him in thehouse.
Super cool.
well, we have a lot going on inthe next week.
we've got a Tuesday, Thursday,Sunday, Tuesday runs.
We've got a home stand.
Yes.
We've got a lot going on.
In fact, we have a game tonight,so you and I have to actually
skedaddle and get ready for thatbecause it's just moments away
we're gonna have to head over tothe arena, so.
