Imagine landing the career of your dreams, but then having it catastrophically change your life. Dave Repsher, an Ametros Member, landed a career as a flight nurse and it was everything he had dreamt it would be.  But one day during a public relations event, as Dave was sitting in the rear seat of a Flight for Life helicopter, he suffered from a catastrophic collision that left him disfigured and with burns over 90% of his body. 

Throughout his ongoing recovery, Dave hasn’t faced it alone. His wife Amanda, who also has a medical background, has been by Dave’s side every step of the way. In this episode, Dave and Amanda discuss the day of the accident and his medical journey up to current day. Amanda shares her experience as a wife and caregiver and explains what it was like knowing what Dave was experiencing in the hospital from a medical perspective. Dave’s story is an example of how love and support can help someone survive against all odds.
