Speaker 1 (00:00):
For the Eul Warren's Fun Breakfast powered by Will and
Gong Masday. Got this feeling that's refreshing, man, there's nothing
quite like that. Newcast. Now get a fresh start today,
get a brand new Wooll and Gong Masday.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
It is Wednesday, one of our favorite days of the
week because we started this new thing just a couple
of months ago where it was it was actually International
Make a Wish Day.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
That's exactly what it was. Yeah, and we thought, hey,
let's just open the four lines and ask people, Hey,
what what wish have you got? If we could grant
any wish. At the time, it was cheapy wishes. Yeah,
it was really we've got five bucks, what can we
do for you? For five years and then it's took
on a life of its all.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Our mission is to try and grant wishes for the
people in our community because we love being part.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Of our community.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
That's why we do radio, and there's so many people
in need, and we love to put smiles on people's dials.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
We'll certainly try anyway. Yeah, So we got a very
special guest in the studio this morning, somebody who actually
pulsed a wish as well on our Facebook course.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yeah, it's Kiara Lee from Marilla but now living in Dapdo.
Good morning, Good morning. They tell us about the wish
that you would like granted.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
So I made a wish for my five year old
daughter last year. Two days before Easter and two weeks
before a birthday, we lost her dad in a car accident.
So yeah, he doesn't have a spot to rest. He's
currently sitting kind of on a cupboard like his pop's house.

(01:28):
So my little girl has never went and seen him more. Yeah,
she doesn't even know where where he is. So there's
a lot of questions. We'd really like somewhere to go
and pay our respects, not just to ask for all
of his close friends and family.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
If you don't mind, can you tell me about your partner?

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yeah, so Shane, he was twenty three, Oh, super ourgoings. Yeah,
loved anything with a motor Yeah literally, So he had
an action from the Federal high Way in Canberra that
Easter long weekend. Fifteen other people also lost their lives.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Yeah, so it was pretty horrible. But yeah, he loved his.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Daughter and she loves him still now. She talks about
him every bloody day.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
Yeah, every day.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, and yeah, The last few weeks have been really hard.
She's really finding it difficult. Last few weeks. She's talking
a lot about him at school and things like that.
We drive past the cemetery at Shell Harbor. She still
goes to school at Shel Harbor, so I drive out
every day and she kind of thinks he's in there.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
But he's doing there. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, Oh that's hard.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
That's hard on you to lose your partner and the
father of your child, and then for her to try
and grapple with it as well. Yeah, and you've got
to be strong for her through all of that.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
He was actually raised by his grandparents and so was I,
so we don't actually have really much family connection at
all or anyone around. So it's just us, just me
and my sister, him and his sister, him and his brother,
and him and his pop.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Oh, it's absolutely devastating. Oh my goodness, Oh you break.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yeah. Oh.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
And the fact too that there's nowhere for your daughter
to go and visit him, that that's hard for you
and for her. Yeah, you need a space. I just
know from losing my brother when he was twenty four,
and like, we do have a good spot from at
Jembury Cemetery. But it's been so vital for us to
be able to go sit there and visit him and
we go have picnics and play music, and that would

(03:33):
be such a short yeah, and something that your daughter
has to have in her life.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
Yeah, she needs a space to Actually.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Sounds really horrible, but I don't actually let her go
to the Pops because she said something to me that
was really heartbreaking. Why is all his stuff everywhere? No
one's looking after his stuff. Yeah, it's just so hard
to explain.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Yeah, so hard to explain to her.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
But I feel like I could be a little bit
more easy if we had somewhere to go and this
is where it is and where.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
He's going to stay.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yeah, he is in spirit, but he's also right here
and he can come here anytime.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
You're like, yeah, that's right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Oh well, it's devastating. It's devastating, and you clearly are
a good mum and you're just trying to do the
best for your little girl through such trying circumstances of
your own me and your heart's broken, and you're trying
to keep it all together for your daughter and create
this beautiful space for her. So we've gotten your wish
and we've also got a little surprise for you. So

(04:29):
we're going to make a phone call very shortly.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
And I wasn't expecting this, honestly, when I commented, I
was not. You know, I've commented twice. I just leaveed
my comment the first time because I'm a little bit
selfish for asking that, and then my friend's like, no,
you comment that back and you ask, So I did,
and thank you.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, well.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah, I'll let you guys collect yourselves. We'll go to
a bit of music and a bit of ads and
things like that, and then we'll make a very special call.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
And yes, thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:01):

Speaker 2 (05:12):
The tissues have been coming in full fourth this morning
we are in the throes of winning Wish Wednesday and
with this in the studio this morning is Kiara Lee
from Marilla now living in Dabdo, who put forward a wish,
a very special wish on behalf of her five year
old daughter. Her daughter sadly lost her father in a

(05:32):
car accident Easter long weekend not long ago, and she
has nowhere to go and visit her dad at the moment,
he's currently sitting in a box on top of a
cupboard at his popshouse. And you, as mum, Kiara, find
it really hard to explain to your daughter not just
what happened to her dad, but where he is now.

(05:53):
And so we saw your wish and we actually had
a group reach out to us and on the phone
right now we have Ronica who's the park manager at
Lake Cyber Memorial Park in Dapdo.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Good morning, Good morning Jada, and good morning Kiara. Good morning,
And I'm the parking gardens manager at Lake Cyber Memorial Park.
And as Jado said, we heard your story on the
wave FMS Whenesday Wish promotion, and obviously at Lakeside, we
understand just how important it is for your daughter to
have somewhere special to visit remember her dad. So what

(06:25):
we'd like to do for you, Kiara, is to offer
you a special memorial space here at Lakeside.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Oh, that's beautiful, so much.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
Yeah, Kiara, Look, we're really pleased that we can offer
this to you and we hope that this helps, you know,
helps your daughter to have somewhere very special for it
to visit.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Thank you, Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
We all do.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, that is so nice, Ronica. A big thank you
to you and the team at Lake Cyber Memorial Park
because it is such an important thing to be able
to have a place to go to just to reflect
and honor your loved ones that have passed, and especially
when you're a little kid too, you know, grappling with
the loss of your parents. So it's so nice that
you've been able to do that for Kiara and her daughter.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
Yeah, well, we're very pleased to do it. So so, Kiara,
what we'll do now is we'll make a time for
you to come out to the park. I'll take you
through a couple of different options, and we'll create something
really beautiful here at Lake. So so, how does that.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Sound sounds amazing? Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
You're most welcome.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Thank you, thank you very much.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
That it was not expecting this at all at all.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Well, look, you know, I just think that it's the
least that we can do. You've been through a lot,
you and your daughter and your partner's family have been
through so much, and so again, this is just going
to be so lovely for you guys, especially for your daughter.
She'll have somewhere to go and be with her daddy.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Thanks guys, well, look you look after yourself and all
your family, and and thanks for jumping on our Facebook
page and letting us know as well. I'm glad we
could help out in some way and Verona could could
jump in there and help out as well. That's when
a wish when Wednesday, Wow, very emotional.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Where did you ssue that?

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Yeah, yeah, it's very upsetting, but look after yourself and
we'll do it again next week I suppose
