ドナルド・トランプ大統領は4月2日、ほとんどのアナリストの予想を上回る包括的なTariffplanとして、”Liberation Day” (いわゆる解放記念日)を発表した。この計画は、すべての輸入品に一律10%の基本関税を課し、米国が大幅な貿易赤字を抱える60カ国にはより高い関税を課すもの。これにより、市場は否定的に反応して、先物は３日間上昇したが急落。
この発表は、ほぼ一世紀ぶりの経済実験の始まりとなり、ホワイトハウスはアメリカ経済を根本的に再編し、最終的にはプラスになると。ただ、このTariffplanは間違いなく今後数か月間は世界経済や市場、 Federal Reserve、連邦準備制度理事会の金融政策決定に大きな影響を与える可能性が高い。
