(00:46):
didn't know what day it was.It was Oh, I did that
yesterday. I asked somebody, whatday is this? Is this a Monday
or Tuesday? Well, when youget up as early as we do,
sometimes your your brain just kind ofjust like, yeah, you have to
think about what you did earlier inthe day. Last night. It's like,
okay, I know I have todo this later today. It's Tuesday.
Uh huh, all right, Sowelcome in on a Tuesday, Johnny

(01:07):
and Val Podcasting live' a top iHeeart Mountain. This is the condensed su
precap podcast for me seventh, theone hundred and twenty eighth day of the
year two hundred and thirty eight daysremain five days until Mother's Day, twenty
days until Memorial Day, two hundredand thirty two days to Christmas. Today
is Concert Day, National Concert Day. That's like the King Vitamin theme.

(01:30):
I don't know why I did that. It was cute. I like it
though. Or was that Fleshman's Margarinetheme? Yeah, that's what I think
it was. I think it wasFleischmann's work. It's not nice to fool
mother nature? Is that? Oh? Yeah? Or I can't believe it's
not butter No, that was theI don't know again, I'm tired.

(01:53):
What day is it? Your firstconcert was? Uh? You said it
was? It was in Eerie?Yeah, I brother took you to go
no wrong? Your mix of thetwo? Okay, first concert I came
to I went to was, uh, well, it was probably Ranger,

(02:15):
Yes, the first unsupervised all bymyself concert with friends night Ranger and Starship
in Erie. What's the first concertyou were able to get backstage passes to?
Gosh? I don't remember well asa part timer when I was on
DVE. As a part timer whenI first got hired, you got to

(02:36):
do stage announcements and bring bands onstage, and so your were backstage,
but it was kind of like justto quick meet and greet accounts. I
don't remember the first one really. My favorite was probably Sammy Hagar Oh why.
He just was a super nice guyand he brought me when I was
out doing announcements about hey, upcomingshows or whatever, and he came out

(02:59):
because that was when he first startedselling his tequila. It was a long
time ago, okay, So hecame out with a drink and handed it
to me on stage. Awesome, that was cool. That's cool. The
first show that I went to unsupervisedwas Jay Giles. The first time I
went backstage was bon Jovi. Reallyyeah, like what year, early nineties?

(03:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, itwas at the beaver Dome. Oh
I was at that show. Iknow you were, Yeah, I know
you were. Yeah. That wasthe first time I actually got backstage and
got that kind of hang out withthe with the band that was kind of
got to drink with him too. That was nice. Yeah, the first
time I ever geeked out. Itwas actually the only time. I like,

(03:46):
I love Love Love Van Halen. They Night Ranger, bon Jovi and
Van Halen. I got to interviewEddie. I've never been able to listen
to the interview. Yeah, justbecause I was so people to interview.
That's gotta be that's got to bereally cool. I can't listen to it.

(04:08):
I'm afraid I was a dork andjust geeking out. But anyway,
So Night Ranger was playing Ribfest andthree River Stadium, Yeah, and we
were kind of in the bowels ofthe stadium waiting for them to come out,
and they walked by me. Iwas like, one of my coworkers
was just laughing at me. Thatwas one of the things that you lost

(04:30):
your composure freaking out like that aboutNight Ranger. Wow, like thirty years
after, well not thirty twenty, probably years after they were huge. That's
cute. I think the only timeI what really freaks me out is like

(04:51):
rock stars don't freak me out,but sports stars do. The first time
I U I saw frank Go Harrisout in the in the wild right and
it was in so wickly in thislittle parking lot and he was leaving,
so he pointed to his car like, you know, do you want to

(05:11):
park here? And I went,no, that's okay, but no,
no, I'm not worthy of FrancoHarriston's parking blanks and I drove around there
was no other parking plank. I'mlike, oh, I'm such an idiot.
But then he could have told thestory Franco Harris gave me his parking.
Yeah, he gave me. Hegave me his parking. Uh.
Then, like you know, tenyears later, like maybe when I started

(05:32):
my radio career, I actually judgeda dance competition with Franco oh and along
with Burke of Cheryl Cheryl Burke. She was and Franco goes, do you
have do you know anything about dancing? I'm like nothing, and he goes

(05:53):
me neither, and Cheryl's cracking up. She goes, guys, this is
what we do, you spy andyou I'm going to write down a score.
Franko, you go one up,Johnny, you go one blow and
then we'll switch out. Yeah.Yeah, So we relied on her expertise,
but we had we had to explainour vote. And by the end
of their pontificat, you know, they could have done a little better.

(06:14):
You know, we know, frankgo and I we know what God no,
it was funny, all right,Fox Trot authenticity exactly. Uh.
Anyway, there you go. We'llbe back with the day number eight for
the road Warry trivia question coming upafter this. I want to kick off
this evening by talking to you aboutbody positivity. Let's hear it for body

(06:36):
positivity. You're absolutely right. I'ma body positive person. I've always been
a body positive person. Unfortunately, two months ago I went to the doctor
and he told me I was dangerouslyclose to being Type two body positive.
So I've had to sort that out. I joined the gym. People in
the gym keep trying to make friendswith me. Ladies and gentlemen. Do

(06:59):
not go up to somebody he lookslike me and at Jim and try and
make friends with them. We arenot there to make friends. We are
there because it is a medical emergency. I go to personal trainer for that
help me go. He's a funguy. He's full of pet who's like,
hey, man, what are yourfitness goals? I'd like to keep
my legs. I need them toget to the fridge. Garrett millerck Day

(07:25):
number eight for the trivia question.Let's take some phone calls. Good morning,
Who's this July Julie. As ofApril first, twenty twenty four,
there was one thirty nine people stilldoing this in the USA. That numbers
quickly disappearing. What is it collectingpools on highway? Nope? Sorry?
Four one, two, three, three, three ninety four five? Oh

Okay, Lee? Do you happento listen to our podcast for the hints?
Yeah? I did? Okay,I'm thinking like shoe shiners, shoeshiners.
No, not shoe shiner, yeah, you guys, just airport and
yeah, I'm familiar with shoes shining. Yeah. You don't see those anymore,
do you? But no, notthe answer i'm looking for. You

(08:09):
know, if you listen to thepodcast, it helps you. Oh,
Jackie's on the line. What's upusing a milkman? Either for milk or
other purposes? I know? No, no, no backdoor milk man.
That's the best time. Guy.Okay, thank you, guys. I'll

(08:33):
talk to you soon. I'm sureI'll see all right, all right,
let's take three more. I thinkit is renting a movie from red Box.
Nice. Not the answer I'm lookingfor. Sorry, let's take two
more. Go ahead, it's Joe. I'm gonna say, telephone operator,
keep working, Tom, how arewe? I'm doing great, awesome.

(08:56):
All right, you're the last callto take today. You get it right,
you win otherwise, same quest tomorrow. How about watching faint Rice.
It's as good as anybody else's.Thank you, tom all right, all
right, no winter today, We'lldo it again tomorrow. All right.
We determined that it is a it'sa profession. We determined that neither Uri

(09:22):
particularly would want this job. AndI'm going to give you another hint.
It's seasonal. What's most important tome? News updates, natural news,
news updates. I like all thelocal news. I like that hint.
It does have a season. Yeah, yeah, there you go. All
right, news time. What's goingon now? Well, it's bad enough

(09:45):
when there's one passenger on an airplanereaching for a barf bag, But how
about seventy oh A Condor Airlines flightfrom Mauritius to Frankfurt, Germany reported seventy
of the two hundred and ninety passengerson board feeling sick and puking. It's
unclear what caused it. No membersof the crew got sick. The pilot

(10:05):
called ahead to the airport to makesure a medical team was ready. When
they got there, all the sickand passengers were seen by medical professionals.
The airline has already launched an investigationinto the cason. Are looking at the
food which was prepared in Mauritius.I got sick on my last trip and
coming back from Mexico into the UnitedStates, I had to use a barf

(10:26):
bag. Oh and I used tolike, who would ever use a barf
bag? Oh? I did?Oh? I did? I was so
sick. And did the flight attendanttake it from you? Or did you
know is right at the end?Okay, so you just called on to
it. No, I just tuckedin that thing. No, no,
no, no, they have athing you throw it away? Yeah?

(10:48):
Yeah? Do you always have yourreusable water bottle on hand? I have
won today? You do today fora lot of people. Carrying it everywhere
has become a half so has carryinga reusable shopping bag to the grocery store.
But are our efforts to be moresustainable actually doing any good? New

(11:09):
research digs in to find out.A survey of two thousand adults found that
forty one percent admit to using disposableproducts and that makes them feel guilty about
harming the environment. Yeah, Idon't think that's the reason why I use
them, Like you know, forexample, like you you've disposable bags.
I take laundry baskets into the grocerystore. Oh it makes it so much

(11:33):
easier to you know, to packand then to take it inside. Oh
okay, and it's so super easyand you're not disposing anything, and it
makes it really convenient. Oh allright. I highly suggest that the average
person has fifty one reusable items athome, but admit they use less than
half on a regular basis. Iwent to northern California for vacation last September,

(12:00):
and I went to the Monterey BayAquarium. Oh wow, I had
this big It was a big featureabout pollute plastic pollution in the oceans and
what you can do. I'm like, I'm gonna save the oceans. I
bought bamboo fork and spoon at theirgift shop, and I used it about
three times, and so it's inmy silverware draw right now. Good for

(12:22):
you. Vow supervow using the bambooforks. And then I feel like a
big deal if I go to arestaurant and say no straw please, like
I'm saving the turtles. The reusableitems people have included three water bottles or
thermoses, three plastic or metal straws, five plastic bag alternatives, food storage

(12:45):
containers, and reusable shopping bags. The average American has purchased fifty four dollars
of new reusable gear in the lastyear. Wow, which is probably just
you might as well have just thrownfifty four dollars away. Twenty percent are
willing to pay more for an itemif it is sustainable. I'm telling you
you should. You should get laundrybaskets. You put in it. You

(13:07):
really do that, I do.Do people look at you like, is
this guy nuts? No? Theyalways Homeland. No, they all say,
oh my god, that's a greatidea. If you like, if
you go to Aldie, you know, you just pop them in. Well,
don't they make you pay for yourbags there? Yeah, so you
have to take your own trans don'thave to you can pay for it.
And I do it in the GiantEagle, and I just if I have

(13:28):
to go in if I need toget a lot of stuff, and I'll
just get the basket and they appreciateit. They're like, oh, very
cool. I like it. Huh, I've never seen that before. The
Next time your toddler screams in themiddle of the night and claims they're a
monster. Claims there as a monsterin the room. You shouldn't automatically dismiss
it as a figment of their imagination. Ashley Massa's class and her husband did

(13:50):
everything they could to assure their youngdaughter there were no monsters in her room.
They said, hair, look underthe bed, there's nothing there.
They showed her the closet. Nomonsters should have looked behind the walls.
What they found fifty thousand honey beesliving in an enormous hive. What there
was honey just oozing all over theplace. Their first clue was that they

(14:11):
had a few bees in the house, so they called an exterminator. That
guy thought, well, they justcame in through this hole. They plugged
it up, but they kept findingmore and more bees. They called a
bee keeper in who apparently used somekind of thermo heat light or camera or
something. Saw this glow behind thewall. So they took the part of

(14:33):
the wall off. They found theenormous hive. Thousands of bees came flying
out of the wall. They removeda one hundred pound chunk of honeycomb.
Wow, that's amazing. Yeah,so they says, They have said they
have a lot of work to doin the house and it could take months
in about twenty grand to fix andprobably twenty grand's worth of psychologicals right for

(14:56):
the kid. Yeah, like youdidn't believe me, that's something in the
walls. All right, let's dothis time for another round of Who Sings
