Speaker 1 (00:01):
Did you know that 72%
of entrepreneurs report
strangling with mental healthissues like anxiety and
depression during their journeyto success?
And I will give you another one90% of high-achieving
(00:24):
individuals admit to sacrificingimportant relationships to
reach their goals.
So these numbers revealsomething we don't often talk
about the hidden costs ofsuccess.
So today, guys, we're divingdeep into the personal
sacrifices and the innerstrangles that come with chasing
(00:48):
your dreams, your goals.
Success is not just about hardwork, okay.
It's about understanding andovercoming the demons that can
hold you back or even destroywhat you have built.
Hi, guys, my name is Fabio fromJourney to Success, and welcome
.
Today's topic might feel a bitheavy, I know that, but it is
(01:11):
one we cannot ignore the innerdemons that show up when we are
seeking success.
We have all heard stories ofpeople achieving incredible
things, right, but what we don'thear, what we don't hear as
much, are the battles they facebehind the scenes.
(01:34):
Who knows how many times theyfelt alone, the doubts and even
the ethical dilemmas.
Think of success as a mountain, okay, while everyone admires
the view from the top, theyrarely see the storms people
(01:55):
endure along the way.
So these storms come in theform of burnout, personal
sacrifices and, of course, innerconflicts.
So in this episode, we aregoing to explore these struggles
, understand their impact andlearn how to navigate them.
(02:15):
So if you have ever ever feltlike the pursuit of success
makes you feel this way, thisconversation is for you.
Okay, of course, before to goforward, as always, please
subscribe.
So I know this is the rightdirection to drive you, to guide
you, to lead you towards yourjourney to success.
(02:39):
And let's start all right.
So when we think of success, weoften picture the rewards, and
the type of rewards is usuallywealth, recognition and freedom.
Okay, but rarely do we talkabout the price people pay to
get there.
So the first one, as I mentionedbefore, was the burnout.
(03:00):
It's the burnout.
So long hours, highexpectations, expectations and
constant pressure can lead tomental, physical fatigue.
So it's not just about beingtired guys, it's about losing
the energy and passion, especially that once fueled your
journey.
The second one is isolation.
(03:22):
So success can be lonely.
The more you climb, the fewerpeople truly understand your
challenges.
You might lose touch withfriends, family or even yourself
.
The third ethical dilemmas.
So sometimes the path tosuccess force people to make
(03:43):
tough choices, compromisingvalues or cutting corners to
stay along.
So these decisions can tormentthem later.
And then at the end, of course,we have the imposter syndrome,
right?
So even successful individualsoften feel they don't deserve
their achievements, fearing theywill be exposed as frauds, you
(04:06):
know.
So this self-doubt can becrippling.
So these challenges are part ofthe journey, but ignoring them
can lead to serious consequences, guys, emotionally, physically
and socially as well.
So let's say that to betterunderstand this struggle, we
(04:31):
have to look at real-lifeexamples of successful
individuals who faced theirinner demons, of successful
individuals who faced theirinner demons.
The first one that I sometimeslike to mention, you know, in
this area, is Steve Jobs.
For sure so known for hisintellect, jobs also faced
(04:54):
criticism for his archleadership style and difficult
relationships.
For sure, he achievedincredible success.
But I often struggled withpersonal connections and
self-reflection, okay.
So one is Oprah Winfrey.
So Oprah's journey to successwasn't easy.
(05:14):
She faced poverty, abuse andself-doubt as well, but she used
these challenges as fuel tobuild her empire.
So her story reminds us of thepower of resilience and
self-awareness.
The third one is Elon Musk.
(05:36):
So Musk has admitted to working100-hour weeks, often at the
expense of his mental health andpersonal life.
So his, let's say, let's callit relentless pursuit of
innovation shows both therewards and the cost of pushing
(05:59):
oneself to the limit.
Okay, now let's talk about thelessons.
Lessons from their journeys,okay.
So what can we learn from them?
Acknowledging weaknesses forsure.
So successful people are notperfect.
It's good to acknowledge thatthey face their fears and the
(06:25):
flow says on, using them asopportunities for growth.
Okay.
Seeking support so behind everysuccessful individual, there is
a support system.
Okay.
So, whether it's mentors, therapists or close friends, so
having people to count on makesa big difference, a huge
(06:46):
difference.
Then we have redefining success.
So, for some, success evolvesover time.
So it's no longer just aboutexternal achievements, but also
about finding this inner peaceand balance, especially.
So this is very important.
(07:10):
How can I say?
This is an important area?
To understand all the lessonsfrom their journeys?
All right, and also, you canput in action, so you can use
practical strategies to confrontinner demons as well.
The first one is reflection.
(07:31):
So take time to understand youremotions, fears and triggers.
So journaling, for example, ormeditation can help you process
your thoughts.
Setting boundaries, so learn tosay no and protect your time
and energy.
So success shouldn't come atthe cost of your health, of
relationships and, of course, atthe end, you know, evaluating
(07:57):
goals.
So you have to regularly askyourself why am I doing this?
Make sure your goals align withyour values and long-term
happiness.
That's very important.
Let me share a story with youthat highlights the consequences
of ignoring inner demons.
(08:18):
Okay, there was a successfulCEO who built a multi-million
dollar business but worked somuch that he barely spent time
with his family.
So one day his child asked whydon't you ever come to my games?
Can you imagine?
(08:39):
You are a multimillionaire, youare a billionaire, you have
everything you want in your life.
But one day your child asks youhey, dad, why don't you ever
come to my games?
That's tough, you know.
So you build something for yourchildren, for your family, but
(09:05):
your child wants just his dad orhis mom.
So that question for him hithim harder.
So then hit him harder than anybusiness challenge.
He realized he had been chasingsuccess at expense of what
truly mattered to him.
So this moment became a turningpoint.
(09:27):
He began delegating more, setting boundaries and
prioritizing his family.
So, while his business stillthrived, his personal life
became richer and morefulfilling.
The lesson what is the lessonhere.
Success means nothing if youlose yourself or if you lose the
people you care about along theway.
(09:48):
Okay, so facing your innerdemons is not a sign of weakness
, guys.
It's a step toward true success.
Okay, remember that.
So what we have learned today?
Success is not just about ourwork and achievements.
(10:10):
It's about recognizing thechallenges that come with it
Burnout, isolation and toughdecisions and finding ways to
overcome them.
By reflecting on your journey, seeking support and stay true to
your values.
You can achieve success withoutsacrificing your well-being.
(10:30):
So remember, the mostsuccessful people are not those
who avoid struggles, but thosewho face them head-on.
Now I want to hear from you, asalways.
So, have you ever faced innerdemons while pursuing a goal,
guys?
How did you overcome them?
Or maybe are you still in theprocess?
(10:52):
