Speaker 1 (00:00):
Would you like to hear something fascinating?
Ancient teachings, guys, suchas, you know, buddhism and
Taoism, emphasize the importanceof living in the present moment
and include principles thatwere essential for building a
business at the time.
So in the ancient world, fewerthan 10% of the population could

(00:27):
read and write.
So only 10%.
Okay, and the education wasmainly accessible to the wealthy
, to the wealthy people.
However, the people withoutformal education were often
careful in looking for valuableinformation, learning from
people with a higher mindset.

(00:49):
So, basically, people were morecareful about gaining knowledge
because information was not aseasily available as it is today.
Okay, today we have resourceslike audible, where, for just
nine euros a month, you canaccess any book you want.
There's Kindle you know, kindleright when, for the price of a

(01:11):
coffee, you can purchase yourfavorite educational book.
Also, google Google itselfoffers millions of free articles
about how to achieve your goals, and podcasts, youtube, I mean.
Despite all these options, manyof us find ourselves just
crawling through social mediainstead.

(01:32):
The reality, guys, is thatwe're spoiled so spoiled that we
have become experts atinventing justifications.
So many people are hesitant totake even the simplest steps,
like opening a stand to sell alemonade, and instead just live

(01:54):
a sad, unfulfilled life, accepting as there is their fate
.
You know, hey guys, my name isfabio from Journey to Success
and welcome.
Even in the show Orange is theNew Black, we see characters
like the protagonist starting abusiness like selling sweaty
underwear from the prison, andtoday we cannot even sell a

(02:19):
lemonade from a stand.
You know, today we're going toexplore why people in the
ancient world were moreintentional about pursuing their
dreams and discuss the bestteachings we can learn from them
.
But, as always, before we goforward, please subscribe.
So I know this is the rightdirection to drive you, to lead

(02:40):
you, to guide you towards yourjourney to success.
And let's get started.
All right, so there are variousancient teachings I would like
to discuss today.
We have Socrates, and, moreproperly, zeno with his stoicism
, as well as Shiva's teachingson the seven secrets of success.

(03:03):
However, I don't want tooverwhelm you with too much
information today, so my focuswill be on the 6 key principles
from the ancient philosophy ofTaoism.
Why?
Why should we start with Taoism?
Because the modern world oftenlacks balance.
Without balance in your life, creating anything from scratch

(03:26):
becomes just impossible.
It's like trying to make alarge ikea closet in a mess room
.
It just doesn't work okay.
So taoism, or taoism, is anancient chinese philosophy that
encourages people to live abalanced life.
It underlines finding peace, simplicity and modesty,

(03:49):
providing guidance on how tolive with purpose.
That's what we're going todiscuss today finding your
purpose in life, but startingwith balance.
I want to begin with this topicbecause we live in a modern era
where balance is elusive.
We struggle to find peace andoften try to make ourselves

(04:11):
stand out when, in fact, we'rejust small pieces in this vast
universe.
In my humble opinion, the bestwe can do is to pursue our
purpose in life while remaininghumble in everything we do.
You know, modern society oftenfaces stress and disconnection,
while Taoists emphasize findingbalance and inspiring many

(04:31):
people on their life journeys.
In this discussion, we're goingto explore six key Taoist
concepts and their relevance.
Today, we're going to gain adeeper understanding of the
essence of Taoism and we'regoing to discover how ancient
wisdom can help us live withgreater peace and simplicity.

(04:53):
So these teachings provide uswith tools to lead calmer, more
meaningful lives.
So let's begin.
Let's begin for real.
So the the first key concept isvouvet.
Vouvet, which can be translatedas non-action or effortless
action.
This idea suggests that themost effective way to achieve

(05:17):
your goals is by going with theflow and acting naturally,
without forcing or resisting.
For example, I'm going to make apersonal example.
If I write scripts for mypodcast and produce four
episodes a month for two yearswithout seeing much improvement
in my numbers, I just remindmyself not to stress too much.

(05:39):
I trust the process andrecognize that I'm improving
along the way.
So every article, script andepisode I create serves a larger
goal that I may not yet see,but is there waiting for me,
okay?
Meanwhile, I continue to put inmore than 100% effort to reach

(06:04):
my goals by exploring newstrategies for improving my
scripts and, of course, findingbetter ways to promote my
podcast.
I'm also learning theimportance of taking breaks, so
I understand when it's time topause and recharge completely,
because life, see, has taught methat the way I used to work

(06:27):
wasn't sustainable and even if Istill experience stress at
times, I'm not aware thatresting is an essential part of
the process.
Second, in and young, of courseyou know.
In and young, I mean how manytimes we hear about in and young
.
In and young represent the dualnature of existence, with

(06:52):
concepts, like you know, maleand male and female, positive
and negative, moon and sun, andso on.
So to achieve balance in yourlife, it's important to rest
with the same intensity that youwork.
It's interesting if I thinkabout.
Yesterday, my fiancé showed mea visual diagram that showed

(07:14):
exactly this concept.
So imagine two parallelhorizontal lines when the upper
line rises, the lower linedescends to match its level.
So the upper line representswork, while the lower line
descends to match its level.
So the upper line representswork, while the lower line
represents rest.
So to avoid feeling overwhelmed,in a few words, I recommend

(07:37):
using the Pomodoro technique toavoid a lot of unfortunate
issues with your well-being.
For example, in my case, Ifound that this method has
helped reduce my hemicrania, acondition I've suffered from
since my childhood, and thetechnique that is going to help
you a lot consists of 25 minutesof work followed by 5 minutes

(08:01):
rest, and this cycle repeats 3times, and this cycle repeats
three times, and for the fourthcycle it's 25 minutes of work
followed by a longer break of 15to 30 minutes.
In my experience, taking evenlonger breaks can be beneficial,
and when I have othercommitments, my long break

(08:23):
sometimes serves as a naturalendpoint for my work sometimes
serves as a natural endpoint formy work.
So if I only work for 100minutes we're talking about 1
hour and 40 minutes in a day Istill consider that satisfactory
.
I know that it may not seemlike much, but you know,

(08:43):
especially when I say it thisway but I can maintain such
focus that I'm able to completethe full podcast script,
sometimes in one hour and 40minutes.
Keep in mind that I'm Italianand my English is not my first
language.
Ok, so just take a break.
You need to rest.
So don't make my same mistake Idid in the past.

(09:07):
Number three inner alchemy.
Inner alchemy involvesstimulating the inner self
through practices such asmeditation, breath work and
visualization.
Meditation is essential forstarting the day with positive
energy from the universe andending it by releasing any

(09:29):
negative energy accumulating inthe day.
So in the morning you get theenergy the positive one and in
the evening you release it.
You know you release thenegative one.
Breathwork is important forregulating your heartbeat,
helping to lower unnecessarytension that can generate
anxiety and finally, at the end,we have the visualization.

(09:52):
Visualization is crucial, youknow.
It allows you to clearlyenvision your purpose and
ensures that you can redirectall your energies toward it.
Number four we have the tao teching.
The tao te ching encouraged usto embrace simplicity and

(10:15):
harmony in our lives.
What does that mean?
It means that, especially inour modern world right, we often
find ourselves focusing onunnecessary distractions like
social media, streamings, gamingand so on.
I mean, while there is nothingwrong with enjoying these

(10:36):
activities I mean I also enjoygaming and occasionally browsing
social media for interestingreels we tend to pay too much
attention to this unnaturalenvironment, so this focus can
distract us from what trulymatters.
So it is essential toprioritize living in harmony

(10:58):
with nature, embracingsimplicity and cultivating inner
peace.
Number five five elements theory.
So in Taoism, the five elementstheory explains the workings of
nature and how everything inthe universe is interconnected.

(11:19):
Guys.
So the five elements are wood, earth, metal and water, and each
one represents differentqualities and characteristics.
So this theory serves as areminder to maintain balance and
harmony in all areas of ourlives.
For example, if we spend toomuch time focused on work linked

(11:42):
with fire, we might neglectimportant areas such as
relationships linked with wateror personal growth linked with
food.
So as soon as you understandhow these elements interact, we
can create a more balanced andfulfilling life.

(12:06):
Okay, number six Taoism andenvironmentalism.
These are closely linkedconcepts that can help you
achieve your dreams and goals.
So, to be successful, it isessential to be present and
connected with your naturalenvironment.
Example If you wish to build acommunity on Instagram it's just

(12:30):
an example yeah, it's importantto focus on generally
cultivating that community.
Often people resort to growthhacking, buying followers or
simply becoming stressed becausethey feel their content is not
good enough.
So this lack of peace and trustin the process distracts from

(12:53):
the most natural way to build acommunity.
Another different example ifyou have had a tough day at work
and find yourself feelingstressed, if you have had a
tough day at work and findyourself feeling stressed, it is
easy to come home and drink, surrendering in unhealthy food
or just watching TV.
Instead, consider going outside, spending time in nature,

(13:16):
reflecting on your day, you know.
So this approach aligns withthe principles of
environmentalism and can helpyou in achieving your goals.
Now let's reassume a little bitwhat we said First.
We have VUVEI, so VUVEI.

(13:36):
What is VUVEI?
Vuvei is the idea that there isthe concept, that there is an
effortless action.
Let's say in this way.
So it means achieving yourgoals by going with the flow and
not forcing things.
So you still put in the work, but without unnecessary stress.

(13:57):
So you have just to trust theprocess, guys.
Sorry, my tongue was between.
First, we have VUVEI.
What is VUVEI?
Vuvei means achieving yourgoals by going with the flow and

(14:20):
not forcing things.
Goals by going with the flowand not forcing things.
So VUVEI they call it also ideaof effortless action.
So, basically, you still put inthe work, so you put in the
work, you work as hard as youwish, but without unnecessary
stress.
So trust the process, stayconsistent and let things evolve

(14:45):
naturally.
Second, we talked about the yinand yang, finding balance in
life.
Just like there is light anddark, work and rest need to
coexist.
So if you push hard, you needto rest just as hard.
So the balance keeps youhealthy, focused and prevents

(15:09):
burnout.
Number three, third inneralchemy.
So taking care of your innerself.
So through meditation, breathwork and visualization, you can
maintain mental clarity, reduceanxiety and focus your energy on
your purpose.
All right.

(15:30):
Number four the Tao Te Ching.
So teach us to embracesimplicity and harmony.
In today's busy world, guys, weget distracted by unnecessary
things like social media andstreaming, we talked already.
By simplifying our lives andfocusing on what truly matters,
we find more peace and purpose.
Number five, fifth, the fiveelements theory so wood, fire,

(15:57):
earth, metal and water remindsus that everything in life is
connected.
If one area of life, like work, takes over, for example, it can
throw everything else out ofbalance.
So understanding this helpscreate a more fulfilling and
well-rounded life.

(16:18):
Lastly, we have Taoism andenvironmentalism.
So to achieve your goals, youneed to stay connected to nature
and the world around you.
So, instead of stressing overthings like social media, growth
or a tough day at work, stepoutside, reflect and find peace

(16:42):
in the natural world.
All right, the world is sobeautiful, guys.
So this connection keeps yougrounded and focused on your
journey.
And that's it and this, guys.
So this is the essence ofancient wisdom and how it can
guide you in today's world.
Now I would love to hear yourthoughts.

(17:05):
Have you ever applied ancientwisdom in your life?

please pass it on to someone whomight find inspiration in these
timeless teachings.
Your support truly means a lot,as you know.
I appreciate the follow, butsharing this knowledge to help

(17:29):
others is even more meaningful.
