When Ben was a child, it was prophesied that he would be a pastor. He enveloped that calling, dreamed about it, and planned for it. But then the church began to disappoint him, and he blamed God instead of people. He knew he was supposed to be a pastor, but because of the pain, he ran from that calling.
When Ben no longer had the thrill of seeking God, he began looking for other things to satisfy that need. Ben started using drugs, joined a gang, and committed crimes that took him in and out of jail many times. He pushed his loved ones away and surrounded himself with people who further corrupted him. He lost who he was and forgot about the man God called him to be. After many years, he felt like an empty shell, alone, and considered ending his life. But God wasn’t done with him. In desperation, he cried out to the Lord, not knowing if He would answer. Instantly, the Lord did and didn’t bring up Ben’s past… only his future.
