Carolyn Smith is from Townsville in Queensland, she is about to turn 50 this year in 2024, and she has 1 teenage daughter. Carolyn has a therapy assistance dog called GG.
Carolyn is a Resource Developer, providing hands-on tools to help coaches and therapists help their clients understand intergenerational trauma.
These tools are easy to understand and use such as gratitude journals.
Carolyn spoke on trauma informed therapists, the important of trust and safety.
As well as having meaningful human connection.
Showing compassion toward each other is important.
Its important people feel empowered, have education, knowledge and training on how they can self regulate.
Carolyn spoke on what she is passionate about,and how to support people with a complex background. The skills need to understand intergenerational trauma and how this looks biologically and in behaviors and how we can support ourselves and others.
Carolyn spoke about coping strategies, high achievers, people pleasers, perfectionists and how these behaviors and symptoms may be layers to something deeper.
Carolyn has a PHd as a molecular biologist, and worked for 20 years a lab looking at clown fish DNA. And realized her own flight and flight responses.
Carolyn wants to encourage people to recognise the signs, of trauma and grief.
To show self compassion to self and others.
