Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello guys, and welcome back to another episode
of Keeping it Realty.
It's currently Halloween, asI'm sitting in my bed at one in
the morning recording this.
So happy Halloween.
And if you go out, go crazy, just don't drink and drive.
So okay, in this week's episodeoh, and that reminds me, I tell
you guys, okay, anyway, in thisweek's episode we are going to

(00:22):
talk about how to kind of make2023 like your launching pad, I
guess, to have the best year in2024, and it's about celebrating
your successes, even if they'resmall ones, but also kind of
embracing the journey andovercoming the challenges and
just getting that motivation todrive us to become the best
version of ourselves.
Because I swear, I lose mymotivation all the time and I'm

(00:44):
just always having to re-pick itback up.
And I want to share kind ofwith you guys how I did that.
But after last week's episodeme sharing like the biggest
challenge and biggest mistakeand the biggest setback in my
life, which is really importantfor me I feel like to share that
.
I also want to share my successand to kind of inspire and

(01:05):
guide you and at the age of 20,I literally right now have six
closings coming up and lastweek's episode hit like 800
downloads, which is just sobeyond crazy in my head, because
, as somebody who's not aninfluencer, does not have a lot
of followers, is hard building apodcast to kind of have those
downloads and build it just likereal estate.

(01:27):
It's really hard building thatfoundation, but once you do,
it's just like you got to keepgoing.
So, but I can honestly sayright now I literally love every
aspect of my life, and itwasn't always like this, though,
and I have faced my fair shareof setbacks and moments of doubt
, believe me, but through likeplanning, I have just reached a

(01:49):
point where I'm not even settinggoals for the new year.
I'm literally like I'machieving them already, and like
I business plan a month ago bymyself, and I just wrote down a
certain business plan of minethat I use, and I've already
achieved two of my goals thatwere on quarter one, which is
just I could scream okay.
So if you want to kind of getyour motivation back and get

(02:13):
ready to have the best year yet,you have to plan and you have
to know how you're going to doit, what you're going to do
differently, and just kind ofhave an idea.
So let's just get into it.
Okay, guys, really quickly, Ishould tell you guys, I didn't
realize I was going to go outover the weekend for Halloween
and I pulled together thiscostume.
That was unreal, okay, I'm arealtor.

(02:35):
So I have so many Avery labelslike for like mailings and stuff
, and I had these circle onesand I had this really like
pretty like blue dress that Iwanted to wear and I was like,
oh my god, like, and my friendwas like you should be a zen and
I'm like, like that, justnobody would know I'm a zen and
I'm like, hmm well, I literallyprinted off a million circles in

(03:00):
Avery labels, put them all overme, and I can't even tell you
the amount of compliments that Igot on it.
So, and a lot of people savedit on my TikTok, which I can't
wait to see somebody else be itnow, and they're going to have
no idea how I did it.
So if you're listening to thison Halloween and you're going
out, you just have to get Averylabels.

(03:22):
That are the circles, okay,anyway.
So the first thing that I thinkwe should talk about is when I
say, like, plan out your yearlike shit happens and life is
unpredictable and things thatwill happen.
That will literally have youquestioning like are you a
failure in life?
Are you not doing enough?

(03:43):
And getting your life togetherand planning out your life is
different for everybody, but Iwould I want to say I feel like
the common goal is kind of tojust maintain a feeling of like,
satisfaction and happiness inyour life, even when things
aren't great.
And it's not that easy to learnhow to get your shit together

(04:04):
when you feel overwhelmed andyou're dealing with a lot of
things.
But there are ways to have yourlife together even when it's
not.
And if you're in college andmaybe you're not doing well and
you're not doing well in yourclasses, you can get your life
back on track even when you feellike you're failing out at all.
And I really want to discusssome ways right now on kind of

(04:27):
how I've done that.
So the first thing that is soimportant, okay, guys, is if
your room is messy, don't startby like emailing your professors
and shit.
No, clean your room, okay, getorganized and just declutter
your room, your house, whateverit may be, because I swear to

(04:49):
God that organizing your roomand like decluttering your room
and your house is truly willhelp you like not be as
overwhelmed, and it's probablyone of the reasons why you're
feeling lost and I will swear bythat.
So, getting up and making yourbed, just clean your house,
organize your desk, put thingsin the right areas, like I'm

(05:13):
literally saying this right now,but my drawers right now, like
oh, my god, okay, I'm gonna dothis.
So like sort out like all, likeget organized, like be OCD for
a little bit and like clean outyour pantry and do your laundry
and organize your closet, colorcode and get the same hangers.
I swear to God, if you'refeeling lost, feeling depressed,

(05:35):
get the same hangers.
It will change your life.
You're probably like okay, thisI'm not gonna listen anymore.
It's just bitch for real, but Iam Okay.
The next thing is, if you arefalling on a budget right now,
then you don't have to do itthis way, but like go buy
something.
It doesn't have to be calendar.
I have a problem and buy likeso many calendars, because every

(05:57):
time I mess up one littleletter, I have to feel like I
have to get a new one.
I can't just rip out the pagelike a normal person or use
white out, but make a to-do listif you don't want to buy one,
or go to like HomeGoods or TGMax and they have all those like
cute, like to-do lists, likenotepads or whatever.
Get one of those with your nameon it and it will make you feel
like you want to write in itand you're gonna want to use it

(06:18):
for a little bit, which willhelp you get your life together.
And making a to-do list is justone way to kind of get your life
in order and it is just onething that I do every Sunday,
even when I am, you know, notfeeling well.
I write down what I need to dofor the week and my, like, main
priorities, and it will reallyhelp you plan out your day, know

(06:40):
what tasks you need to do atcertain times and things, so you
don't forget.
And if there are too manythings on your to-do list which
this is something I've had tolearn then either, like, use
different lists for certainthings, so, because you're gonna
become way too overwhelmed withall of them and you're not even
gonna do any of them.
So just take them one step at atime and do it in order.

(07:03):
Don't check off somethingthat's at the very bottom and
then go to the second one.
It just you won't end up usingthat checklist and you'll make a
new one.
It just do it in order.
Okay, I hate to say this becauseI make excuses for myself, but
that is something that is soimportant.
If you have something that youwant to do in life and you want
to get there one life, you haveto stop making excuses and

(07:25):
figuring your life out andachieving your goals like you
have to have some type of planand you just have to take those
actions in order to get there.
And I feel like I always amused to be making excuses and
procrastinating on even doingsmall things and then end up
having to rush to meet certainthings and never end up

(07:47):
executing them the way I should.
And if there is somethingthat's important to you and you
really want it, then you have tolearn to get your shit together
and go for it, and I mean thatin every way possible.
I've had to learn that I had toget my shit together, and it
took getting a DUI to get myshit together, but I did.
And now look at me now.

(08:08):
So sometimes you're going to gothrough those major setbacks
and that is why I said in lastweek's episode like truly facing
those really hard challengesand overcoming them will make
you the best version of yourselfand it's so real.
So set goals that you want toachieve that are not like that

(08:30):
aren't impossible, like theyneed to be realistic.
And last week I taught agents atour office with my manager
about vision boards.
And vision boards aren't foreverybody, but they can
literally simply take one minuteto make.
Go to Canva or just literallylook on Pinterest, and but if
you make them on Canva yourself, then it's more meaningful and

(08:53):
will kind of help you more.
And let's say you're going toschool to be a doctor or a
dentist or whatever it may be,and you are doing really bad in
school and you just can't seemto get your shit together.
You're failing a class, youdon't want to do homework, you
don't want to go to class.
Make a vision board.
Make a vision board of how yousee yourself being a dentist.
And if it's a picture of a cutegirl dentist, then make that,

(09:16):
because you'll look at that andbe like that is what I want.
So you are going to take thesteps, get there and you have to
stop making excuses.
The next thing I want to say isstart budgeting If you do not
have a savings account.
Open up a savings account Likeinvest and save money, and just
start budgeting.
There are so many budgetingcalendars.

(09:37):
I literally just made one and,if you guys want me to, I can
share it with you guys.
It's so elegant and cute, but Ihave started doing it because I
have a spending problem.
I've been living by this quotethat I made up in my head when I
went through a breakup and it'slike well, you only live once
and you could die on the wayhome.
So if you want that sweater, then buy it, regardless of the

(09:57):
price.
Like you may want to wear it inyour casket, like genuinely
guys.
I wish I was kidding when I saythat that when I go to like put
something down, like, oh, Idon't need it, I think to myself
well, what if I died on the wayhome?
And it's so bad, don't live bythat.
I'm telling you it's the worstbecause I have a horrible
spending problem.
But when you learn to get yourshit together, you will learn

(10:18):
that you don't have to be richand it's really just all about
managing the little money thatyou have and spending it wisely.
And one thing that I have hadto learn and I have not learned,
actually, like I'm trying it,just it's taking time is in high
school I had no money, like Iwas always begging my mom for

(10:39):
money to go out on the weekendsand I now go from having no
money to being a prettysuccessful realtor for being 20
years old, and when I see thosechecks I act like it's million
dollars and I'm like I can spendwhatever, just because I had
not used to the concept ofhaving money.

(10:59):
But I'm getting better and Ijust started budgeting to kind
of get into the year to have agood 2024, and I want to buy an
investment property and I justneed to start getting better at
saving my money.
So, okay, the next really bigone is getting a routine.
And making a routine Seriouslylike a daily routine works in a

(11:24):
way kind of similar like a to-dolist to kind of help you get
your shit together, and I thinkI should head over this episode
let's get your shit together tomake 2024 the best one yet.
But anyway, because it createsstructure in your life and
whether it's a morning routineor a workout routine or an
evening routine, whatever it maybe, workout routines don't
quite work for me.
I try and try and try again.

(11:45):
One day they will, and I'lldefinitely make sure to share
that with you.
But you need structure in yourlife and if you need to get your
shit together you needstructure is small routines like
getting up, making your bed andwriting on your to-do list what
you're gonna do for the day.
Time blocking is so important, especially for real estate
agents.
I started time blocking and Istill don't have the hang of it

(12:08):
yet, but it will change yourlife and it will create control.
But establishing a routine justensures that you no longer have
to like force yourself toengage in healthy and certain
things, because they will juststart becoming natural to you
and you will just start doingthem without thinking like, oh,
I need to do this, I need tocreate a, I need to do a to-do

(12:30):
list.
You'll just start doing it andyou will start doing the things
on the to-do list and from thereyou will just get better.
Okay, this one just came up inmy head when I was talking and
it's own your life, own yourshit.
And the reason that like you maybe feeling like your life is
not maybe how you want it to beis because you haven't been like

(12:53):
living it for yourself and Idid it for a while but maybe
it's because you're notembracing your to yourself, or
you're trying to like followsomebody else, somebody else's
footsteps, or maybe you're doingsomething only for somebody
else, like your parents, likeyou're going to school just
because you're parents, but inreality you don't wanna go to
college and you see yourselfgoing to hair school.
I don't know, I just pulledthat out of my ass.

(13:14):
But I'm just saying, like youneed to do what you love to do
and you're not just doing it tolike to like God what's the word
?
Like to exceed society'sexpectations and like you know
what I mean whatever, but reallyown your life and do what you
wanna do.
And if you don't wanna go outand all your friends are going

(13:36):
out and they're like come on, goout, like don't go out, like do
whatever you wanna do, sothat's really important and that
will help you.
Okay, guys, this is a big oneand it is that you need to
embrace the chaos.
Okay, and no matter how wellthat you plan out your life,
it's gonna throw these hugecurveballs at you that you're

(13:56):
like what the hell and shit'sgonna happen.
Okay, and you can admit thatyou don't have your life all
figured out, that's okay.
I don't think anybody does butyou need to remind yourself that
you've had similar struggles inthe past and you were able to
overcome them and get your lifeback on track.
So it's okay to not be okaysometimes, and it's okay to

(14:17):
struggle, and maybe you're goingthrough a breakup.
Maybe you are failing yourclass, maybe you are just
screwed in college right now Idon't know what it is, but think
about the hardest thing thatyou've gone through in your life
, and I guarantee you it is notas hard as what you are
currently facing, and you'vegotten better from what that
past was the really bad part.
So, if you're learning to getyour shit together because you

(14:39):
feel overwhelmed and you justneed to understand that, no
matter how bad things get, theywill always get better.
And yeah, at the end of the day, though, like getting your life
together and back on track isnot just something that happens
in a day, and it is like just along process of making just

(15:01):
these positive changes in yourlife, but making them every day
and continuing to do them.
And if you don't feel like youhave your life together or
figured out at all.
You're not alone.
There are so many people outthere that are just as lost as
you and everybody is trying tofigure out their life.
We're all just fumbling throughthis together.

(15:23):
But you really should do all ofthose things and I think it
would help you a ton and I'mactually gonna go do them too.
But I just wanna say next weekwe're gonna do a part two to
this.
We're gonna really dive deepinto planning and how I got to
be where I am and the successpart of it and things that I've
done that have really helped me,because those are all basic

(15:46):
things but they are likesometimes you just need to hear
them again and those littlethings can actually make the
biggest difference.
But I wanna say I recorded apodcast with my friends.
They came to the Lux RealtyLounge in my studio and
literally guys I'm not kiddingyou, I've never listening to it
is the funniest thing in theworld.
We basically just talked aboutX and we would say one and oh my

(16:10):
God, it's so funny.
It's just been hard because Ihave to edit a lot of it,
because it's just so bad.
But anyway, I hope that ifyou're feeling unmotivated.
You are probably creating ato-do list right now.
But yeah, as always, love youbye.
