Nous sommes très heureux.ses de vous retrouver pour ce premier épisode de la saison d’automne 2021. Ce balado marque une occasion très spéciale, car le 22 septembre est paru le livre "Que veulent les véganes? La cause animale, de Platon au mouvement antispéciste" aux éditions FIDES, co-écrit par Alexia Renard et Virginie Simoneau-Gilbert. Ce livre propose une approche philosophique, historique et sociologique des débats sur le traitement des animaux.
Tout au long de l'épisode nous discutons des idées principales de l'ouvrage avec les deux autrices: Alexia Renard, doctorante en science politique et coordinatrice au CAPED, vient de finir d’écrire son projet de thèse qui porte sur l’engagement des jeunes de 12 à 17 ans dans les mouvements véganes et antispécistes au Québec et Virginie Simoneau-Gilbert, doctorante en philosophie à l'Université d'Oxford, dont les champs d’intérêts portent sur l'éthique animale, la psychologie morale, la philosophie politique et la philosophie du droit.
