Have you ever wondered why some people with modest bank accounts feel abundantly wealthy while others with millions still feel financially insecure? The secret lies not in financial strategies but in something far more powerful – your relationship with money.

When a prestigious financial publication interviewed me about money management, they expected conventional advice about investments and savings strategies. Instead, I shared what I believe is the true foundation of prosperity – how we relate to money emotionally and psychologically. Growing up in domestic violence shelters on welfare, surrounded by hand-me-downs and financial shame, I developed a unique perspective on wealth that ultimately helped me build both a successful tech career and my current thriving business.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Let's talk about the time I wasrejected by the media for
saying what I really feel.
Now I was being interviewed bya prestigious financial

(00:21):
publication as a life coach whoworks with many people, and they
were asking about money.
Now there are plenty of financeexperts out there.
There are endless apps.
If you're looking for financeadvice, you will not find a
shortage.
Free videos, free podcasts Imean, it's endless.
You can find strategy, insights, rules, books more than you

(00:46):
could ever even consume in yourlifetime.
But during this interview, thereporter was asking me very
practical, especially as a lifecoach now with a thriving
business which I'm so, so proudof.
She was asking me a lot of kindof money specifics which I'm
happy to go into and share.
But what I really wanted toconvey most strongly is the fact

(01:08):
that it's not about the moneyitself, it's not about the stuff
, it's not the number on thescreen, aka the money in the
bank, that determines yourprosperity.
So if you've known me on mywork for a long time, you'll
know that I grew up with very, very little living in domestic
violence, shelters andgovernment housing on welfare,

(01:28):
living on donations andhand-me-downs and having a lot
of embarrassment around that asa kid, and so now being able to
have had a great, successfulcareer in tech, now having my
own business, which I love somuch.
What I wanted to convey wasit's not the money in the bank,
or it's not the salary that thebank right, or it's not the
salary that you have, it's notyour annual income.
That's the thing.

(01:49):
Of course it matters, it'sthere and everyone earns
something and hopefully you knowwe're able to invest a little,
save a little, spend on thingsthat matter to us.
But I said, you know reallywhat I want to talk about when
it comes to money isn't the nutsbolts, isn't the advice,
because it's.
I mean, there's alreadyincredible advice out there.
Follow Farnoosh Tarabi, myincredible friend and finance

(02:11):
expert for all things money.
I do, but I have to say whatreally matters is your
relationship to money.
That is what counts, because Ican tell you this when I was 22
years old, going through adivorce, I had around seven or
$800 in the bank and I can tellyou I felt rich.
I felt rich because I was ableto put a small deposit on an

(02:34):
apartment.
So I had seven or 800 after Idid that and I had enough to see
me through the week into mynext paycheck, maybe even save a
couple of hundred bucks.
That feeling of okay, this ismy starting point.
I will give thanks for this.
There's only going to be moreis what created a cool career
for me, is what created thisbusiness.

(02:56):
It's never the amount, becauseif I look at even some of my
friends, or if I look at theForbes 100 rich list, I've got
I'm very humble over here.
But if I look at my earnings,if I look at that as my form of
value or if I look at that assomething that's fixed, what you
have in the bank is already oldnews.
That's how I think about it.
And even if I lost everythingsay it happened I know I could

(03:20):
rebuild because I know what todo, I know how I am, I know who
I am and I know what's inside ofme Meaning.
Yes, it's nice to have money inthe stock market.
Yes, it's nice to have a lumpsum.
Yes, it's nice to own yourhouse, if that's what you value.
But what I value most is myrelationship to all things, and
my relationship with money is ahealthy one because I welcome it

(03:43):
.
I know it can be a huge sourcefor good.
I know it's great fun making itand there are so many endless
ways with which to do that andthen make decisions based on
that, based on okay, you're in aposition of financial wellness.
Now what, my friends?
What if it's not the money inthe bank?
I can tell you this it neverfeels like enough, right?

(04:05):
You save X, you save Y, yousave Z, you hit a milestone.
Then you go.
I just need a little bit more.
Don't you remember that scene inBreaking Bad?
It's one of my favorites, whenSkylar, his wife, lifts up like
a top, a blue top, becausethey've got money in a storage
container and it's just cash, cash, cash, cash piled fully.
Don't even know how much thereis it's millions, clearly and

(04:27):
she says to him when will it beenough?
This, to me, is a sense ofmadness.
Right, having enough is adecision that we get to make,
but, more importantly than theamount, someone will always have
more, a lot more, I assure you.
What if money?
How we feel about money, oursense of prosperity, our feeling

(04:48):
of being rich isn't the moneyin the bank, it's about our
relationship to it, to it and toourselves.
My friends, my very first jobin a bakery when I was 14,
earning two pounds an hour, which is around $2.50 US, I felt
rich.
I could buy myself a pair ofjeans, buy myself a mascara at

(05:10):
the local pharmacy.
What if the feeling ofprosperity is all that counts,
your relationship to what youcurrently have, because
appreciating what you have, however small it may seem in
comparison to others, others, isalways going to be the
foundation for attracting more.
Until tomorrow, my friends, somuch love and ease.

(05:33):
