Why does making money in a corporate job feel easier than earning as ourselves? This question perfectly captures a struggle so many face when transitioning to entrepreneurship or self-employment.

The answer lies deeper than mere confidence or skill. When we earn as our full selves, we experience a vulnerability that corporate structures shield us from. Standing behind a company logo means rejection feels less personal—it's the organization being rejected, not us. But when we put our own name and face forward, everything changes. The fear of judgment intensifies, and our nervous system responds accordingly.

And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! All you have to do is:

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Let it Be Easy with Susie Moore.
Ooh, today's episode isexciting because it is the first
Q&A episode, and this comesfrom a lovely lady called

(00:22):
Jillian who is also in SelfCoaching Society.
And here is her question.
I'd like to know, susie, aboutgetting more comfortable with
money.
I effortlessly got a highpaying corporate job straight
out of university the onlyperson in my year to do so but
when it came to earning formyself as myself, it's a whole

(00:44):
different ballgame.
I can't grasp what my problemis.
I'd appreciate your insightsbecause I can see my limiting
beliefs clearly.
I came from poverty, but itdoesn't seem to shift anything.
Excavating this subject wouldbe awesome.
Okay, my friends who here canrelate to Jillian.

(01:05):
Now, this is a big topic.
Money is a big topic Havingenergetic minimums, setting
financial expectations.
Money brings so much stuff withit.
In fact, jillian, I'm going tobe doing this in a self-coaching
society session coming up soon,so we'll be able to go deeper

(01:26):
together.
But I've got three points.
I was thinking about thisquestion and I've got three
points for you here, okay, whichI know is helpful to this
podverse as a whole, receivingas you, because I come from a
corporate background too, whereI was working within an

(01:46):
organization, right, that kindof it felt like, oh okay, I'm
representing an organization.
Receiving, being able toreceive as your full self, is
far more vulnerable thanperforming in a system.
So, for example, if I'm makingyou know, in my tech career I
was making half a milliondollars a year in my position

(02:10):
with my business card with mycorporate logo Easy For me.
That was a very simple, straightforward job that I had.
I loved it.
But it was easy for me to goforth and represent an
organization because it wasn'tmine, it wasn't Susie Moore, it
wasn't me putting all of theparts of me out there for people
to maybe reject or criticize orlaugh at or not like.

(02:34):
It's very, very different.
This is what I wrote downReceiving as your full self is
far more vulnerable thanperforming in a system.
So, earning as yourself, it'syou on the line, it's your face,
it's your talent, it's yourskill, it's you that can feel
rejected and the ego doesn'tlike that.

(02:55):
Right, it's scary.
If you're represented by acompany, then it's the company
that's being rejected.
If it's you, it feels verypersonal.
You have to realize it stillisn't.
People say yes or no all thetime.
B to B, b to C, whatever thesituation or decision is, but
when it's us, it just feels somuch more scary.

(03:20):
Another thing that I know isthat it's not necessarily the
limiting beliefs that we need tolook at here.
It's our nervous system and thefeeling of safety that we have,
with or without money.
What money brings up for usimpacts our body.
My friend, kate Northrup, teaches this really well.

(03:41):
She speaks specifically aboutthe nervous system and money.
So you can know on a logicallevel that you're worthy.
Of course you are.
All human beings are Humanbeings are miracles.
The fact that we're here alivenow, our worthiness, is never in
question.
But money can bring up stuffbased on what's happened to us

(04:03):
until now.
There's judgment around it,there's a lot of fear around it.
Maybe you know you say growingup with nothing, just like me.
There's a lot of stuff aroundmoney that we want to look at
and there is this emotionalresidue.
It's not just a mindset pattern, it's a feeling within our body
.
So it's not even you know, Ididn't have money growing up.

(04:23):
It's what?
Just a mindset pattern.
It's a feeling within our body.
So it's not even you know Ididn't have money growing up.
It's what did money mean?
I've asked myself this as I'vedone my own financial
up-leveling in my life.
There was always tension aroundmoney.
There was this feeling ofsurvival, separation.
People with money had power.
Those without it didn't havepower.
And so, even if you have moneynow, if you don't feel good

(04:46):
about it, if you don't feelrelaxed and at ease with it,
knowing that you're worthy of it, knowing it's completely
natural and appropriate to havemoney, we can also.
We can lose it.
We don't hang on to it.
So it's not just aboutrewriting beliefs around money.
It so it's not just aboutrewriting beliefs around money.

(05:08):
It's repatterning how we feelabout receiving.
It can be a very worthwhileexercise to just sit down and
ask yourself to write this out.
What does money mean to me?
What does money represent in mylife?
What negative things do I thinkmight happen as a result of
having money?
What negative things do I thinkmight happen as a result of
having money?
Everyone's story, everyone'sanswers, are going to be a bit

(05:30):
different, but we have toidentify.
What does this bring up?
Maybe you even have a block, like you know, if I'm rich, I'll
leave my family behind.
Someone won't like me, myspouse.
I'll start out earning myspouse.
I'll start.
I'll leave people behind andthey'll judge me.
They'll think who does shethink she is?
I do have a fantastic bookrecommendation and a podcast

(05:51):
recommendation, because it'shere on Let it Be Easy podcast,
my conversation with GayHendricks he wrote the book the
Big Leap to me was extremelypowerful about understanding
what we are believing, what ourbody's holding onto.
That is that's keeping us stuck, that's holding us back from
reaching our full potential.

(06:13):
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricksand any of Kate Northrup's
nervous system work specificallyaround money.
It's great to acknowledge this.
This is step one.
Jillian, I wonder when you cometo understand what money means
to you, what you might bebelieving could happen when you

(06:34):
attract more of it as you, youlook at it, you let it sink in,
you see how your body and yourmind reacts when you think, hmm,
I wonder if this is not so trueanymore and you look to what
could be truer and what could bepossible, knowing that, yes,
anyone who's out thererepresenting themselves is going

(06:55):
to have more of a more, let'ssay even a feeling of nervous
excitement around that.
It's okay.
May this help anyone todaywho's got questions about

receiving more and letting morein Until tomorrow.
