Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's dig crew.
What's up everyone?
How are y'all doing what?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
up.
Speaker 1 (00:03):
So glad that you have
jumped on to join this
conversation.
I'm excited that you're here.
You guys know why we're here, but if you don't, I'm going to
tell you anyways.
We are here to help you grow adeeper relationship with God,
others and yourself.
That's right.
This week I came across astatement and it truly truly
challenged me, honestly, to mycore, probably one of the things
(00:25):
that has challenged me most inthe last year of my life.
Okay, it felt like it put me onlike red flags, high alert.
Hey, this is for you.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I need to hear it
right now, because I need to
know what's challenging you morethan me.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
It did actually.
Okay, this is the statementthat I came across this week.
It says we drown inentertainment to avoid the
silence where God speaks, thencomplain that he's silent.
And it wasn't so much that Icomplained that God is silent,
it was actually more of I drownin entertainment to avoid the
(01:00):
silence, but that's actuallywhere God speaks.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Did you see that meme
?
I saw somebody post a video theother day.
It's a husband and wife and itsays it's POV when the husband's
trying to get out of bed andthe wife's still sleeping.
He's tiptoeing slowly, closingthe door.
He's using his flashlightthrough the dark because he
doesn't want to wake her up andit says point of view when she
trying to get out of bed, bangbang bang Bright's up Phone is
(01:28):
loud and blaring and you'relistening to music and people
watching TikTok noise and videos.
I'm like that seems like it'sDanny Lee, because the moment
you wake up sometimes I'm likeyo, where's all this noise?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
I am noise, I seek
noise, I need noise.
I hate the silence.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
That's funny too,
because the kids like riding in
your car just because of there'salways something playing the
moment.
I hate getting in your carbecause the level that you have
your radio and your volume atit's it's it's actually not
healthy and you need to get yourears checked.
It's, it's, it's actually nothealthy and you need to get your
(02:07):
ears checked, y'all guys, everytime I get into Danny Lee's car
, like, literally, her phoneblows her or, like her, her car
volume blows me away, and we'vehad conversations about that too
of of like, do you, are youafraid of silence, are you
afraid of just stillness?
And I know that's somethingyou've been working on.
It's super hard, are you afraid?
Speaker 1 (02:23):
of just stillness and
I know that's something you've
been working on.
It's super hard, I really,after reading that, I realized
how much my need was for justnoise, and sometimes I'm
intentional about what the noiseis right.
Sometimes, like right now,we're fasting and I'm in a
season where I'm intentional ofwhat that noise is.
So it is sermons, it is worshipmusic.
Sometimes, even if it's justinstrumental music, it makes me
(02:45):
like more calm.
But at the end of the daythat's not silence, it's not so
let's talk about this.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
It sounds like, yeah,
we should do a deep dive on
just how we're starting off ourdays, because I do believe that
the way you start your daydetermines how you end your day.
True, but before we go intothat, before we start digging
into that, you guys see this hatthat Danley's rocking right now
.
Nice, hey, this is our LDC hat.
It's a trucker hat.
It's actually really cool,actually.
Yeah, we got some more.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, we got some
right here.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Hey, give me one of
them.
Things Okay, them thing isfresh.
Woo, okay, everywhere.
Everywhere.
It's on social media, it's onInstagram, facebook Shopify,
right here on YouTube for thosethat are watching.
Shout out to all of our.
I'm gonna do a shout out rightnow to brother Wayne, actually
on YouTube.
Shout out to Wayne.
He's been part of the LDC crewfrom the top.
Wayne.
Yo, hey, bro, hit us up.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
We're gonna send you
one of these hats.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
We're gonna send you
one Wendy's hats right now, bro,
it's on us, man, thank you foryour support, thank you for your
love, thank you for your prayer, bro.
Bro, we're so happy that you'repart of our LDC crew.
For everybody else, go aheadand get yourself Wendy's hats.
Dan Lee didn't want to wear it,but she's wearing them right
now.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Guys, Chukka hat is
really out of my comfort zone.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I'm much more of like
a baseball kind of girl, but I
really wanted to wear one.
So here we are, out of mycomfort zone.
Hey man, there you go.
Like you know, there's peoplewho wear their hats all the way
at the top of their head, likethis I'm like.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yes, I do.
I don't understand why.
All right, it's time, let's dig.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
All right, let's dig.
Okay, so walk me through.
Babe, if you weren't trying tobe intentional, like
unintentional, you just woke upand you just started your day
Like what does that look like?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I grabbed my phone
and go to the restroom and then
I would scroll yeah For a littlebit Because I feel like it
helps me wake up.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
And then your legs
die.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Not that bad.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
And then we need to
call the paramedics to come
because you can't feel your legs, so then I scroll for a few
minutes.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Then I like, when I
feel like I'm awake it's
actually it's really crazy howmuch I've used social media to
stimulate me of like, oh I'mreally tired, but I want to stay
awake, so I'm going to go onsocial media and vice versa.
When I wake up in the morning,I want to like feel alert, feel
like I'm snapping out of the fog.
I'll go on social media andmake my brain think and read
(05:04):
something or whatever on socialmedia and that really wakes me
up.
It feels like I'm okay, I'mready for the day.
I'm gonna go wake up the kidsand then one of our kids is not
a great morning person.
The other one just startstalking, like before his feet
even hit the floor.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
One is you guys know
that little dog from the movie
up dog.
Remember the dog, dog'm dougyes like that's, that's one of
our kids, uh-huh.
And then the other kid is theold man yes, for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
I was wondering how
you're gonna describe the other
one it's true, and I mean mostmoms know, like, when the kids
are like, once they wake up, youhave to talk, you have to tell
them go do this, go do that, don't do this, don't do that.
Pick that up, go put that there.
Like it's just constant, likeit starts from the jump yeah, um
, and then I would listen tomusic while I get, do my makeup
(05:59):
and then I would go to the gym.
This is all still like not eventrying.
not even trying I'd have musicin the car.
I, on the way driving, drop thekids off for the gym.
Um, in the gym, I wouldprobably listen to a hip hop R
and B 2010s playlist, like umcause I felt like that's what
(06:20):
would motivate me into the gym.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Meanwhile, all your
thoughts are going wild about
bills, money, kids, appointment, work, church mentorship all the
stuff you're working on, yeah, all at the same time.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
A hundred percent,
and it's like that all the time.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
And then at the end
of the day, even as your husband
, I'll see you at the end of theday and it looks like somebody
just kicked your butt.
It looks like you are worn out, like you're tired, and
sometimes I'd have to ask you, like, what'd you do today?
Not because you weren't busy, like you had things going on,
you had a full schedule, but itwas like, did you ever stop?
And some people think, stop.
(06:59):
Like what do you mean?
Like you know, take a break, lunch?
Well, nah, because some peoplenowadays, even here in America,
people don't know how to takereal lunch breaks.
That's true, you don't takereal lunch breaks.
I don't by nature.
Your phone, you're on a call.
You're doing this, checkingemails, you're this.
I'm like yo, do you everactually stop and sit at the
table and just do one thing Eat.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
I don't, or zero
things.
I'm afraid I'm going to fallasleep Like I feel, like I lose
energy in that moment.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
So that's why I feel
like.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
I just got to keep
going.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Your wills are just
literally always turning.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Always, and not that
I like it.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
There are some people
who are just wired that way
more.
I am one of them.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
What would you say to
somebody that struggles with
the same thing?
Meaning the moment the eyesopen, it's like every single
thing that comes to their mind, they go straight to do it.
And you know what, like, I'mgoing to say this, like I
understand, there are somepeople that may identify or may
have been diagnosed as ADHD.
(07:59):
You know, and I'm not sayingthat you're lying to yourself,
I'm not saying that your doctorslie to you, I don't know, I
can't speak into that, but whatI am saying, there are some
things that might beself-inflicted, like certain
things, like don't charge yourphone by your bed.
There might be certain things, like you know, clear your mind
(08:21):
before you go to bed.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Right.
Well, and that's why, like I'veshared on the podcast a few
times, that I'm really tryinghard to work to wake up earlier
before the kids so that I canjust have, even if it's just 15
minutes of just sitting in mybed and reading my word or
taking some prayer time, likenot on my phone, not scrolling,
don't touch social media, Don'tlike any of that, no music, Just
(08:47):
sit in my bed and have 15minutes with the Lord before I
start waking up and telling thekids what to do, whatever.
Like that has been one of theways.
So I would tell someone whostruggles with that to be
intentional of what do you dowith those first 15 minutes of
your day.
That's good.
And even if that does look likean instrumental worship playlist
(09:10):
, like even if that does meannot words but just instrumentals
like help you to be intentionalwith your thoughts, because
that's one thing I've reallyreally learned Like I'm the only
one who can control my thoughtprocess.
I'm the only one who cancontrol my motions, so I need to
control my emotions, I need tocontrol my thoughts, and so for
those first 15 minutes of theday, I'm going to control them.
(09:33):
I'm not going to think aboutthe bills, I'm not going to
think about the doctor'sappointments, not going to think
about all those things.
I'm just going to say thank youhonestly to the Lord.
That's how I start my days.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
What's been the
hardest thing for you right now
Like you know, when you wake upin the morning what's been the
hardest thing for you to reallyincorporate?
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Oh, waking up.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Oh my bad.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Like getting up is so
hard, it's really hard to not
just snooze.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
I love the snooze
button guys, guys, danny Lee
snoozes for fun, it's a hobby.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
I actually am that
person that sets my alarm
earlier so that I can snooze, sothat I still get out on time.
Wow, like I said it earlier, solike I'll set my alarm for,
like on Sundays, at five 30,even though I know I don't have
to get out of bed till five 45.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
That's wild.
That's wild.
Let me take a moment right nowto say shout out to all of our
LDC folks, everyone that hasbeen rocking with us since day

And so you guys already knowI'm rocking this hoodie right
(11:01):
here.
This is the new life collectionhoodie.
Um, second Corinthians, chapterfive or 17.
Anyone who belongs to Christ isa new person.
The old life is gone and thenew life is here.
That we do believe in Christ.
We do believe in Jesus, we arefilled with the Holy spirit and
every single day, like Dan Leesaying, we wake up and we have a
mindset to take our thoughtscaptive.
(11:22):
If there's evil thoughts, ifthere's negative thoughts, if
there's bad thoughts towardyourself, bad thoughts towards
people, you do not have tomeditate on it.
Actually, you meditate on thetruth, you meditate on God's
words, and so that's what helpsus.
We are new people through thespirit of God.
So, if you want, go ahead andcop yourself one of these
hoodies right now.
We got a bunch of other merchLike this is a good way to tell
(11:43):
your story and tell people whatGod has done for you and what
he's getting ready to do in yourlife.
We do believe that this year2025, is going to be a year
that's going to bless us.
We are believing for miraclesthis year, man, and so shout out
to all of you guys that arewatching right now Hit that
heart, hit that thumbs upsubscribe button, but send us to
somebody too, man.
(12:04):
Send us to somebody.
So, podcast is a routine.
I think people should add intheir morning routines, I think
a podcast like this too.
Man, that's, that's informative.
And also like, um, like givingrevelation too.
I think so many people theywake up in the morning and I've
seen you do this too, babe Likewhen you wake up and you think,
because you're watchingsomething, something like
(12:26):
something on TikTok, becauseyou're learning something,
sometimes we think, oh, this wasinformative.
But I think, man, there's somany people that are like
information junkies, likeinformation hoarders, like we
make excuses, like, oh, I justlearned how to do this, but we
do nothing with it.
And we really got to figure out, like, yo, how do you really
want to start your day?
You know, what do you reallyput?
(12:46):
What are you really putting inyour mind?
What are you really feeding on?
It's like your body, likephysical.
There's certain things that youeat that you can feel it
throughout your body.
Like when I eat dairy, I get anice big old brownie sundae,
that dairy.
I feel it by the end of the day.
You know what.
You know what I mean.
But there's other times, basedoff what I ate, if I ate a
(13:07):
smoothie, whatever I put in mephysically, my body feels the
energy my body's eating off ofit.
It's the same thing mentally, yeah, and the same thing
spiritually too, you know.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
So how do you start
your mornings?
Because your brain is builtcompletely different than mine.
You, you are verycompartmentalized.
You are very organized in yourlife and in your brain, like how
your brain thinks, like, sowhat do my process, like my
processor works?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I don't react to
situations.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
I respond to things.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
And so even if
somebody— You're a very
thought-out person in general, yeah so if somebody texts me
right now and they cuss me outlike I don't have emotions
towards it yet, I just have abunch of thoughts and I'm
processing my thoughts.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
That would be nice.
It yet I just have a bunch ofthoughts and I'm processing my
thoughts.
That would be nice.
I'd have plenty of emotions andI'd have plenty to say right
away of like reactionary rightLike not saying that that's the
choice I would make all the time, Um, but because I know that's
how I'm built most of the time Iactually won't step into that.
But so that's crazy that youthink through all of it and
process it all.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
So I had somebody
text me last week it was about
1030 in the morning and it waslike hey, you want to do lunch
today.
And I'm like my schedule isdone for the day, like it's been
thought out, I've alreadyprocessed it, I'm not going to
hijack it, I'm not going toabort an idea that I have.
(14:46):
And I think some people go offof feelings and they're like oh
yeah, cool, I'm gonna do it.
And forgot that they had ameeting, forgot that they had
something to do, forgot thatthey had an appointment.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Someone yesterday
told me.
They asked me did you tell meabout something that's going to
happen on Tuesday?
And I was like nope.
And they're like, oh my bad, Ithought Pierre would have told
you already.
And I was like no, he'll tellme.
But he actually probably has itlike blocked in when he'll tell
me.
So maybe you don't ask me tillSunday night about this Tuesday
(15:14):
opportunity.
I'm like, but he has it planned, like that's how planned you
are.
Sometimes I'll ask youquestions about hey, what about
this Thursday?
What are we going to do?
And you will literally say I'mnot going to make that decision
till Tuesday.
For Thursday, Like you have theblock of when you're going to
make the decision.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Because I think there
are certain things that don't
need to be decided on so earlyon.
So like, for example, right nowwe are trying for baby number
three.
If you guys don't know this, dowe ever tell you we're trying
every single day.
Yo Dany over here telling melike when she ovulating.
Is it ovulating or is it a V orB in there Ovulating?
(15:52):
No way Dany over here tellingme when she ovulating.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I've never heard it
said ovulating.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I looked at that
calendar I was like, hey, babe,
what's these little dots thatyou have in the calendar, like,
why are you marking the calendar?
And she's like, yeah, that'swhen I'm abalated.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Nobody says that that
sounds so bad.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Abalated Yo.
So the morning for me startswith the night before, right, If
that makes sense.
So the night before before I goto sleep, it don't matter how
long I worked, it don't matterhow long my day was.
I don't end my day withoutreally processing what I want my
next day to look like and feellike, and so I'll confirm
(16:34):
appointments, I'll confirm phonecalls that I have, I'll confirm
checklist items that need to bedone for the day, like the next
day that's coming, and I'llprocess it and I'll think it
through.
And if I feel like my day isoverloaded, there's certain
things I'll move over to like tothe day after that.
And then I'll really process, okay, my faith walk like my
(16:55):
spiritual health, my mentalhealth, my physical health, so
like, if I feel like I've goneto the gym too much and I
haven't had a day off, I'll makea decision the night before.
I'm not going to the gymtomorrow.
So it was an actual decisionthat.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I made.
It wasn't like a I felt tootired in the morning, Cause that
will always tell you to skipthe gym.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Yeah, and you don't
want to make decisions off of
how you feel, because when you,if you wake up in the morning,
like, do I feel like going tothe gym, you already know the
answer.
It's no, no, the answer isalready no.
So I don't make any decisionsduring the day.
All the decisions were made theday before.
So at night I already pick outwhat I'm going to wear in the
(17:34):
morning for the gym, Cause if Ihave to wake up 5am in the
morning and it's super dark,it's cold, we wear you know, the
house is cold in the morningthings like that.
I'm not going to be stumblingaround the room looking for gym
clothes, I'm going back to bed.
But if I already lay out my gymclothes, I already even know
what workout I'm doing.
So tomorrow I'm like yo, allright.
So tomorrow is going to be legsand back, core and with the
(17:55):
treadmill, versus people whowalk into the gym and they're
like hmm, let me see what I wantto do today.
Bro, you ain't going to donothing.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
You ain't going to do
nothing.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
You ain't going to do
nothing.
Them thumbs are going to bestrong while you're working out
text messaging and you're on thephone Things like that
Scrolling, so I don't walk intothe gym.
It's like what do I want to do,right?
So my morning routine startswith the night before and so,
after that's been said, like Imake a decision a yeah, it's a
(18:23):
decision I'm getting out of bed5.05.
That's wild, and his exercise Ithink everybody should really
practice too is stop sayingverbiage like no-transcript.
You're giving your space.
You're giving yourself space tonot get out of bed at 5.05
that's true, because I tried,but I didn't yeah, I tried.
(18:45):
It's an excuse.
Make the decision saying I'mgetting out of bed yeah at 5.05.
And when you don't get out ofbed at 5.05, you'll be
disappointed in yourself, it'strue.
But when you said I tried, youcan say at least I tried.
So you don't beat yourself up,you're not hurting yourself.
So that's what I do the nightbefore I'm getting out of bed at
5.05.
And then what I typically do isI do believe that the way you
(19:09):
start your day really determineshow the rest of the day can go.
So I'll sit actually right herein the living room, I'll sit
right there in that corner.
My Bible's already laid out.
I already know, like, what Iwant to read and I'll sit there.
Sometimes I'm sitting there for30 minutes, sometimes sitting
there for 15 minutes, sometimesit's 45 minutes.
It really depends on the restof the morning, cause I'm like
yo, I'm gonna go to the gym andI want to pull in one hour.
(19:29):
Other times I'm like I'mputting 30 minutes.
So I'll sit right there andI'll meditate on my dreams, on
my thoughts, the things that Ifeel like God was giving to me
at night.
So I literally sit there andmeditate and clear my mind, the
stuff that I felt.
I'll journal too.
I think everybody should bejournaling.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
Bro, this guy's
journal is crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yeah, bro, I think,
like, seriously, man, I think
everybody should be journaling.
Like, journaling it's a gamechanger.
Here's a note about journalingit's good for you to journal
because it gives you time toreflect on your goals, your
intentions or your dreams.
Right, use this time to trackprogress, really seeing.
Like, okay, when did God speaksomething to me?
(20:11):
A year before?
I can go back on dates and say, man, a year ago I was here.
So sometimes I go in themorning, I open up my journal
and I'm like, let me see where Iwas a year ago.
I do it all the time.
Or I'll go through my dreams.
I'm like, oh my gosh, thisdream happened.
That's crazy.
And so I'll journal.
(20:32):
Of course I'll pray, I'll talkwith God, and a lot of times
I'll sit in silence too, because, man, that morning breath be
kicking and I'm tired, I haven'tdrunk yet.
And I'm like, I'm trying to pray, and this breath is hot.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
So I'll sit there in
silence, clear my mind and
meditate on God's truth.
I do think I've had to learneven to quiet my mind in the
silence, like you're saying, like you sit there in silence,
um, but it's an active choice toeven quiet my mind, my thoughts
, like when I'm sitting in thatsilence.
It's an exercise, like it's amuscle that you have to get
better at.
And for people who have beenmaybe built like me a little bit
(21:06):
more, where we're just kind oflike thinking all the time that
we have little mouse on thewheel, like running in our brain
the minute our eyelids pop open, but trying to slow down,
trying to process more, tryingto be intentional with my time
with the Lord, like practicing, like quieting my thoughts.
(21:26):
Yeah, even while I'm in thepresence of God is something I'm
really working on.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Yeah, the Bible says
to be still, and know that I am.
God.
I think if everybody couldpractice that in the morning,
when you wake up in the morning, just be still and know that God
is God.
Yes, the morning, when you wakeup in the morning, just be
still and know that God is God.
So that means, no matter whatyou go throughout your day, no
matter what you face, you canjust know that God's in control.
God's in on this, learning tostop.
So if you start your day likethis, you'll exercise that same
(21:53):
practice all throughout the day.
You'll learn to stop, you'lllearn to be still.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Because even one of
the other changes that I have
made that I've really, reallyloved the fruit from is changing
my playlist in the gym.
It was a few years where I wouldjust listen to Usher and T-Pain
and all these like kind ofcrazy R&B hip hop artists while
I was in the gym, because itmotivated me, helped me go, and
then I started shifting a littlebit, found some great Christian
(22:21):
hip hop stuff like that it'sgreat, and so when I need that
motivation I go to those artists.
But, man, there is nothingbetter than when you've spent
morning time with the LordYou've been still, you know that
he is God and then you go doyour busyness and you go do all
the things that the day requiresof you.
(22:41):
And then you go do yourbusyness and you go do all the
things that the day requires ofyou.
And then when I'm done allthose things and I'm in the gym
and I actually put on worshipmusic and I feel the presence of
God come there with me and I'min the gym and I'm trying to
hold it together because I'mtruly feeling the presence of
the Lord and him just touchingmy heart.
Like you're taking care of yourphysical man, you're taking
(23:03):
care of your spiritual man.
That combination, nothing isbetter Like it, is my favorite
thing.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Yeah, yeah, that's.
That's crazy man.
So you're basically sayingyou've, you've, you've seen the
fruits and the benefits of, inthe morning, working on yourself
mentally, spiritually andphysically.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yeah, because when we
got married you tried to be an
afternoon workout person and Ijust could not get into that
Like if it's not morning, I'mnot doing the workout.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
I wasn't, I didn't
try to be.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
We just would work
out in the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Okay, well, you just
said I try to be.
It's like we just couldn't wakeup in the morning.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
You didn't try to be,
but when we first started our
journey of working out together, they'd be afternoon workouts
and that was so hard for me.
But now that I know morningsare my window to work out, it's
the best way to start the day.
I do love feeling strongthroughout the day, cause I'm
like man, I got my workout inalready, so now to to add even
(23:59):
more weight to that of like I amlistening to worship music.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
I'm listening to some
gospel music, like, yeah,
having that time with the lordalso while I'm working out yeah
has been a way to set my dayscompletely differently a so
something that I really love toadd to our morning routine, and
we did it this morning babe, Iam so done with you we did it
(24:32):
this morning, and the kids wereup too.
I just locked the door, but youwas thanking me too I did.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
I said that's a great
idea.
Thank you, yeah man, so that isa wow, you don't have to tell
the people, babe, you gotta wakeup to do that you don't have to
tell the people they.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Everybody want to
know like it.
Are we really happily married?
That's true.
I think that's important so Ithink it's really important for
us to really understand guyslike.
For us, we've made a decisionthat the way we start our
mornings, I still can't believethis.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
I need you to focus
right now, man.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
You got people
listening.
Go ahead, put this hoodie on.
Hey, so we're trying to addthis to our morning routine
Taking care of some business.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
We do call it taking
care of business.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Taking care of
business, like it's straight up
taking care of business.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
It is.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
It is.
So praying and meditating isvery important for for a morning
routine, but don't just bemeditating on garbage though.
Like, seriously, you, we arewhat we eat, right?
So whatever you eat mentally, like that's what you're going to
put out.
So you just said it, like themusic that you was listening to,
the music that you was.
(25:40):
So if you find yourself gettingirritable, you find yourself
yourself getting frustrated, ifyou find yourself getting
distressed out, anxious, I wantto ask OK, what are you eating
mentally, right?
Musically, spiritually,physically?
Speaker 1 (25:52):
To be fair, in that
season I didn't feel wrong or
sinful in that decision.
Wrong or sinful in thatdecision.
Honestly, what made me changemy choice was the benefits of
the other one, so it wasn't somuch of like, oh, that's
terrible.
It makes me feel like the stuffI listened to wasn't stuff that
(26:14):
made me feel dirty or sinful innature or raunchy like whatever
.
You weren't feeling bad, but youknew that you could feel better
right, that's what I'm tryingto emphasize of like, but the
difference I felt when I made abetter choice and the stronger I
felt in my spirit, man, and myemotions and all the other
benefits I had from choosing abetter choice of music, I was
(26:37):
like, oh no, okay, now I get ityeah yo, I had to start to.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
um, I think something
that I'd like to add to our
morning routine.
I was like, oh no, okay, now Iget it.
Yeah Yo, I had this thought too.
I think something that I'd liketo add to our morning routine
is taking a moment while we'rejournaling and writing down the
things that we're grateful for.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Because I think
people complain about stuff they
take for granted.
And I'll be honest with youlike we do the same thing, yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Like today, you paid
a really big bill today, yes,
the lord did provide and youdidn't feel good about it.
I was a little stressed.
It felt hard to hit the button.
I'm gonna challenge you tonightafter it felt better yeah, but
tonight or tomorrow morning takea moment to really write down,
yeah, like how appreciative, howgrateful we are that god stays
providing man I did, um, I did apodcast or I listened to a
(27:23):
podcast that the woman actuallywalked you through these
exercises and it was literallyto train your brain in the
mornings.
And that's how she actuallystarted off with was what are
three big things you arethankful for?
And she was like and those areusually pretty easy You're
(27:44):
thankful for your health, you'rethankful for your life, you're
thankful for your family, yourhouse.
Those things come really easyto us to be thankful for.
And then the next exercise wasnow say three little things that
you are thankful for.
So maybe it was that someonepaid for your Starbucks in the
line the other day, maybe it wasthat you worked out and you
(28:07):
didn't have that pain in yourshoulder and you were thankful
for that, but like it actuallyforced you to think a little bit
more detailed in your day of,like man, those little things.
I want to be thankful for thebig things and the little things
, but the little things can getmissed so easily.
We can just scoot right overthem.
So you're right yesterday orpaying that bill today.
It wasn't a little thing, butyou can skip right over it and
(28:31):
forget to take the moment to belike man.
thank you, god, for being sofaithful, and I don't want, to
my day, to make me go so quicklythat I skip over all of it and
what you did.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
It's big man.
I think that's cool too, forpeople to even add at the end of
the day, yeah, you can do it inthe morning or at night.
Take a moment at the end of theday and really write out what
are you grateful for just fromtoday.
Just from today, people don'teven realize it, especially here
in America.
Man, like first world problems, sure, like you know what I'm
(29:03):
saying.
Like we're in California, I'mcomplaining that my AC, my car
don't work, but the weather'sreally great and there's a
breeze coming through Right.
Like you know what I'm saying, yeah.
Or like small things, like youknow, when we're driving through
a restaurant drive-thru andthey messed up the order, right,
I'm thankful that God providedthat we're able to even do this.
So true, like you know what I'msaying.
And then we go and complain, and we complain that they didn't
(29:23):
give enough of us a big enoughcredit for the reimbursement.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
I'm like bruh yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
You know what I'm
saying, so gratitude gratitude,
I think, is really big.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
I think if we all
start practicing gratitude in
the morning, start practicingmeditation, like meditating on
the truth, meditating on God'sword, not all this crazy yoga
stuff that's out there Like youknow, I'm not against yoga, I
like yoga, like, like thephysicality of yoga, like some
of the weird, weird ism stuffthat's behind it.
Like I'm not with all that, butI'm saying it's like being able
(29:55):
to stretch, taking care ofyourself physically, doing that
stuff in the morning.
Yo, I'll say this right now toowe take care of ourselves.
Man, like other people will getthe better version of us too,
like our spouses would get thebetter version of us.
Our kids, our coworkerseverybody would get the better
version of us.
We spend time with God and westart to see ourselves the way
God sees us.
(30:15):
Like we'll start practicingthat type of gratitude, that
type of grace towards otherpeople.
Think about what God has donefor you, like I think we need to
think about how God has savedus, how God has been so graceful
and merciful towards us.
We'll start practicing thattowards people.
How do you do it?
I think the best time to startpracticing those thoughts are in
(30:38):
the morning, because how you doit.
It's a domino effect throughoutthe rest of the day.
Like you know, those days likewhere, like one bad thing just
happened and you're like youknow what, forget the rest of
the day, bro.
And no one's actuallyexplicitly saying forget the
rest of the day, but everythingabout your behavior is going to
fall apart.
So when I'm having a bad day,are you having a bad day or are
you making it a bad day?
Speaker 1 (31:02):
You had one bad thing
happen today.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Yeah, one bad moment
does not equal a whole bad day.
There it is, yeah, you know.
So that's all I got to sayabout this, this whole topic of
morning routine.
Speaker 1 (31:07):
Well, we hope that
this conversation challenged you
.
For sure, I know it challengedme, um, I know.
I even posted something on theInstagram and was like please,
someone tell me I'm not the onlyone who hates silence.
And I had some girls in my DMsaying like it's not just you,
it's me too.
It's me too.
So I hope that thisconversation challenged you to
(31:28):
analyze and to take into account.
What is your life look like, what are the choices that you're
making, what is the noise thatyou're listening to and how are
you starting your day, what doesyour mornings look like and
what can you do to set yourselfup for a better mental state,
spirituality, all these things, because only you can do that.
(31:49):
No one's going to make you doit.
No one's going to force you.
It is up to you to make thosedecisions of what time are you
waking up?
How much time are you spendingwith the Lord?
Are you spending any time withthe Lord?
Are you reading your word?
Are are you spending with theLord?
Are you spending any time withthe Lord?
Are you reading your word?
Are you meditating on his word?
What are the things you'reputting inside of you?
And is it too much noise.
So we love y'all.
(32:09):
Keep digging with us.
We love y'all so much.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Get a hoodie.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Yeah, check out the
merch, get the hat, don't forget
to subscribe and we'll seey'all next time.
