Jason Connell (08:15:47):
Whoa, just
curious. Welcome to Just curious
media. This is let's talk CobraKai. I'm Jason Connell.
Sal Rodriguez (08:15:57):
And I'm Sal
Rodriguez.
Jason Connell (08:15:58):
All right, so we
are back for another episode.
Sal Rodriguez (08:16:03):
Woohoo. Yeah.
Another fan appreciationepisode.
Jason Connell (08:16:06):
Whoa, yes.
Sal Rodriguez (08:16:07):
I appreciate. I
appreciate the fan appreciation
episodes.
Jason Connell (08:16:12):
I know you do.
You were very reluctant onvolume was but you got in line
very quickly. And this wasvolume eight.
Sal Rodriguez (08:16:22):
Jason because I
thought like I like are we like
tooting our own horn here. I'mnot a big fan of that. Although
it seems to be the era for that.
I was like, Are we tooting ourown horn? But you know, what
we're doing is we're honoringour supporters is what we're
doing.
Jason Connell (08:16:35):
Yes, that is
exactly right. That's what we
are doing. And, and here we go.
Fan Appreciation, volume eight,we're going to start at the top
with our Patreon supporters, aquick shout out if you will. And
then we're gonna get into ourapple podcasts, five star
reviews, which is fantastic. Solet's start with our patreon you
(08:16:56):
can support us on patreon.comtype in let's talk Cobra Kai on
the website, super easy to findthis. Exciting. There's some new
exciting things coming. I don'twant to get too far in the
weeds. I'm exploring some otherthings on some other
subscription models or premiumcontent, but just it's not ready
to be announced. But Patreon isan amazing place to help the
(08:17:18):
show. I mean, that little bit amonth you decide there's
different levels. But Sal, evena little bit goes a long way to
pay for some of the productioncost. And time and energy. Yeah,
a lot of money goes
Sal Rodriguez (08:17:32):
out. No, you know
what Jason, I was talking to a
friend of mine, a friend of minewas like, I want to start a
podcast. And I'm like, Oh,that's great. I think everybody
should start a podcast. But it'slike, it's not it's not free.
You know, like, you need to putmoney into it. So and those
money you either just put moneyin, and you'll never get it
back. Or hopefully you'll get itback and hopefully you can
(08:17:54):
recoup and hopefully you'llbreak even or whatever. But it's
not free to have a podcast.
Jason Connell (08:17:59):
No. No equipment
cost money as subscriptions cost
money to host it just adds up.
Now I'm not. I made moviesbefore. It's not that level. But
this isn't a movie you're neverreally done. That's something
else you do. It's like running amagazine back in the day or
doing a newspaper. You do anepisode great episode. So it's
constant constant content. Andyeah, comes at a cost and our
(08:18:22):
Patreon it absolutely helps. Sogood to rattle off the names
here. Sound Go ahead.
Sal Rodriguez (08:18:31):
Our originator.
Right, Lindsey Bebo, our firststrike first Patreon supporter.
Jason Connell (08:18:41):
Yeah, Lindsey
Bebo. We've had her on the
actual episode of Let's TalkCobra Kai. She was on one day.
It was awesome. We've had selfover Patreon Zhan so all the
more reason to join us. You mayjust get plucked and pulled in
and be on an episode yourself.
How meta is that? Love it.
Sal Rodriguez (08:19:02):
Then we have Eric
Williams at the strike hard
level. Yes.
Jason Connell (08:19:10):
And the next are
going to sequentially here
because there's there's thetheme.
Sal Rodriguez (08:19:15):
Then we got at
the No Mercy level. Brian rum
phala. And Stephanie, Mac lemon.
Yes, we pronouncing that wrong,Mac lemon.
Jason Connell (08:19:26):
And it's rum,
fola, like cola. And Brian has
actually been on an episode ofLet's Talk Cobra Kai, Stephanie.
Hopefully we can get her nexttime I've asked and you know,
scheduling and
Sal Rodriguez (08:19:36):
Jason Jason, let
me just tell you this. And I
mean, this place. I have otherpodcasts that I listen to that
I'm a fan of. They don't inviteanybody on. They don't invite.
They don't invite listeners on.
We're inviting listeners to be apart of our show. Hey,
Jason Connell (08:19:51):
we even devote
episodes to our fans. I'm not
saying I don't care what they'redoing. This is what we're doing.
And notice the theme there. Itcomes from somewhere strike
first strike card. No Mercy. Ilove that. Very good. clever,
clever. You guys over there.
Okay, so please continue
Sal Rodriguez (08:20:13):
at the black belt
level. Adam alrik and I keep a
con at Nicholas. Vic strim Yeah, blackbelt level.
Jason Connell (08:20:24):
Adam has actually
been on an episode as well and
Akito Khan ad has been a fan fora long time and love him he
actually printed off his ownlogos. I've left out Cobra Kai
has these decals on his car inSweden zipping up and down the
freeway promoting the show. So Ilove that How about for a
Sal Rodriguez (08:20:45):
I grew up
listening to Jason I grew up
listening or watching PippiLongstocking? Oh, I loved hippie
Longstocking? The fact that wehave fans in Sweden. I'm
literally almost going to cry. Imean that's it's huge.
Jason Connell (08:20:59):
That's huge. I
loved loved people on stalking
as well. I think they just soldone of her the houses that she
loved the house that she livedin did, I think,
Sal Rodriguez (08:21:07):
you know, because
she you know why Pippi
Longstocking? Like like kids myage kids at that time I want to
be rich rich I was like I wantto be Pippi Longstocking. She
has her own house. She's nineand she has her own house. And I
want that.
Jason Connell (08:21:21):
It was awesome.
So thank you patriots love it.
You guys have been with thissome of you for years now. And I
am so touched because yes, alittle bit goes a long way.
Different levels, you can joinus at various levels, price
points go up. It's not crazy.
But it helps. And we do needmore. There's no doubt about it.
(08:21:42):
Like I said, there's more thingscoming. We'd rather be a fan
supported show. Right? There'ssponsorship. And then that comes
and goes, we recently had asponsor, and that was great for
over a season and thenrelationships like you know,
it's just it's ever changing.
There's so many podcasts are somuch competition, all we can do
is continue to come back, putour best effort out there. So
(08:22:06):
make more and more and morecontent and grow our fan base
and those fans that want to goabove and beyond and leave us
five star reviews or ratings orbecome a patreon. That really
helps immensely.
Sal Rodriguez (08:22:20):
Yeah, it's next
level, it's next level, we reach
out, you know, we createcontent, we reach out. And then
when you reach back. That'sthat's a big deal. Thank you
huge.
Jason Connell (08:22:32):
Another quick
shout out to super fan, not a
Patreon and not a five starreview, but a contributor. And
we actually did an episode andhis honor at one point in time
because he left us thisbeautiful voicemail so we played
it and talked about it and thatwas in is Costa dinos. He helped
us this last season contributedsome of his time, his energy,
(08:22:55):
his efforts and is great guy andhe's gonna have to be on an
episode in the flesh while likethrough zoom, but not just a
voicemail, but fantastic. Solove his fandom fan hood, and
his super fan status. And soshout out to you caster. Thank
you very much for all yourstuff.
Sal Rodriguez (08:23:16):
You're here,
officially part of the team now
part
Jason Connell (08:23:18):
of the team next
level next next level is what
you said before. So now so themeat of this episode is our
apple podcast five star reviews.
And just a quick recap here, because this can fluctuate. But
our five star ratings are wehave 169 ratings for the show.
And that's the little like, there's 12345 stars, you click a
(08:23:39):
button, you can rate it in twoseconds, you're done one second,
you're done. But with our 169ratings we're holding, currently
holding a 4.8 rating. Let's talkCobra Kai, which is outstanding.
And that matters. People look atthat, if that was a 2.4 people
move on down the road, if it wasa 3.7 even a 4.2 You gotta be
(08:24:02):
where we're at and above. Andthat's a great area to be and we
encourage any and everybody whohasn't voted which is super
simple on Apple, you just clickthat little five star and you're
done. Those who want to go aboveand beyond and leave a review.
Outstanding. So we're gonna readthe reviews. And also so tell
(08:24:24):
them where they can see theirreview live on our website. They
all live there now.
Sal Rodriguez (08:24:32):
Yeah, you want to
visit just curious media.com
That's our mothership. That'sthe home base. Just curious
media has many shows, inaddition to Let's Talk Cobra
Kai, and you can hear and seeall of our contents. So yeah,
it's it's a good spot to be in,it's a good place to go. If you
want to content because believeme, I watch and hear some of our
(08:24:55):
listeners. They are cleaning, they're driving, they are moving
about and they want content. Sothat is a spot to go for content
to listen while you drive whileyou clean while you live your
life and listen to podcasting.
Jason Connell (08:25:10):
Yeah, and I
should have been more clear, but
they can also see these reviews.
These Apple podcast reviews arenow consolidated. And there's a
link on each show. So if you goto just curious me.com and go
down to Let's Talk Cobra Kai,because that's what we're
talking about. And there's areviews, Apple podcasts link,
you click it and all of thesewonderful five star reviews from
(08:25:32):
past and present and hopefullythere's a ton more in the
future. They're there becausethey're harder to people to see
and like your own review is nowbeing publicized on our website
for each individual show. Soit's fun tastic I decided to put
this up as another way to thankthe fan and encourage other fans
that your voice matters. Likeyou said, other shows don't have
(08:25:54):
fans on. I don't know what thoseshows are doing. But we do. And
we talk about fans, and we givethem X amount of episodes
because we need to
Sal Rodriguez (08:26:05):
win. Jason Jason
Connell was like, I'm gonna have
some of our fans. And I waslike, Are you sure you want to
do that? He was like, Yes, Iwant to have our reviewers on. I
want to have our five starreviewer fans on our show. And I
was like, Are you sure? And he'slike, yes. So this was all Jason
Connell idea.
Jason Connell (08:26:23):
I'm crazy
sometimes. Actually, it was
Patreon I started with patriots.
So that's what we've had. We'vehad some Patreon. But more to
come, and there's gonna be morefans on. I mean, we don't just
do a podcast about fans. We do aton of content. And then we
thank our fans every so often, and we were overdue, we had been
overdue. And to that point, volume seven kind of caught us
up, it was almost a year, notthat we had too many. But we had
(08:26:47):
11 to cover 11 five starreviews. And I broke it up in
volume seven, and eight, becauseit would have been too many. So
this is volume eight, and we arepicking up the reviews for mid
November 2022 up into January2023. Now, the reason we had so
many in a short amount of time, was because I did a call for our
fans to give us, hey, we needsome more reviews, we need to
(08:27:12):
stand out in this marketplace.
And in November, we got a lot ofthem. Our voices were heard,
which is outstanding. So wemight do another call for more
of themselves and see if we canstir the pot again. But it's
fantastic. And I'm going to jumpin here. I'm gonna let you do
the first one or starting withif you have it up on your screen
(08:27:35):
that November 15 2020 to oneYeah, okay. Yeah, start with
that we'll ping pong back andforth and get through these 10
and just give thanks as weshould, to our fans.
Sal Rodriguez (08:27:45):
Yes, this is a
five star review. And it says
thank you for being awesomeexclamation mark. I look forward
to this podcast. Great show.
Great podcast. Thank you bothfor making the long ride to
work. Worth it. You go no birdmuter

Sal Rodriguez (08:29:56):

some people don't have a lot oftime. I've never done it for a
show. So I commend you all fordoing it for our show.
Sal Rodriguez (08:30:24):
You've never
given a five star review to
another show. No, I've
Jason Connell (08:30:27):
never given
anything short of I've done
plenty of ratings. But I'venever left a review and now I'm
inspired to pick out a showthat's worthy. That's worthy.
And do it because this is reallyreally amazing stuff. So you
want to Yeah, can we get ahandle on?
Sal Rodriguez (08:30:45):
Oh geez. Ah Head

Sal Rodriguez (08:30:55):
HD HD HR, H, E,
B, E, B, D f u
Jason Connell (08:31:03):
Yeah.
Sal Rodriguez (08:31:06):
i What do I think
the f you at the end? No. What
Jason Connell (08:31:08):
does that reminds
me of my high school cheer it
was. It's really long, but thankyou, Oliver Spire. I really
appreciate it so much. Thankyou. So next one is on you.
Sal Rodriguez (08:31:20):
Five Star Review.
Excellent and so entertaining.
One of the best podcasts outthere. If you liked the Karate
Kid Saga by Akira Khan 8080 fromSweden. Yes, we are.
Jason Connell (08:31:36):
Thank you, Akita
Khan. He actually did a five
star review on Apple. And itdidn't show up. Sometimes that
happens. It gets taken down orI've heard this happening or for
something's happened he showedme a screenshot one time this is
a while ago, and it was likeshowing on his end but it wasn't
showing on for us. Right itcould be Sweden, USA but
(08:31:59):
sometimes Apple can be realfinicky and didn't work.
Obviously he's been a super fanpower fan forever. I love it. He
says power fan. It's great. Andthen he finally got it to go up.
So when this came up was like,oh kita Khan got it to you know
up there. So a fantastic but hesends us messages all the time.
Like I said, he's got our decalour logo on his car. So thank
(08:32:20):
you so much. And yes, if youlove the Karate Kid saga,
hopefully this podcast is foryou. You know, so thank you Kido
con and he is a true Jason
Sal Rodriguez (08:32:31):
Akita con 80 has,
let's talk Cobra Kai merch we
need let's talk Cobra Kai merch,
Jason Connell (08:32:38):
maybe he'll sell
you some so
Sal Rodriguez (08:32:42):
that is that meta
that our own fans sells us merch
of the beldi meta.
Jason Connell (08:32:47):
That's fun. Okay,
the next one. This truly is
longer. That was joking. Thelast one I read. Here we go. One
of my top two Miyagi versepodcast. What's the other one,
sir? Oh, that's not important.
Yeah, no, I
Sal Rodriguez (08:33:01):
want to know
that. What's the other one?
Jason Connell (08:33:03):
This podcast is
the one that made me really love
Cobra Kai. To be honest. I'venever seen full episodes of the
show. Because of this podcast, breaking each episode down scene
by scene, along with clips andreactions I've seen on YouTube.
(08:33:23):
I have pieced together theentire show. This podcast is the
glue that fits in the blanks onthe best show around for me.
This is a riddle. I love thisreview. This is by 40 year old
guy. No 46 year old guy. Oh,sorry. Sorry about that. By 46
(08:33:47):
year old guy. I was shaving sixyears off for you there. But
fantastic. So let me get thisstraight. So 46 year old guy,
watches Cobra Kai but doesn'tfinish the whole episode. Yeah,
jumps over and listens andwatches us, puts it together
fills in the blanks. Loves theshow. There's no, I love it
(08:34:12):
works.
Sal Rodriguez (08:34:13):
Jason, I talked
to somebody a few weeks ago, I
talked to somebody that talkedabout listening to podcast about
a show. Without seeing the show.
I have
Jason Connell (08:34:22):
people do that
have heard this two? No, I will
do this. Yeah. It's funny thatthey kind of toggle back and
forth like, Okay, I've seenenough. I'm gonna go to the some
people want to consume audio, they want to be a passive
listener, and not just be astatic viewer, I get it, they
can do things. I can wash thedishes and go on a walk, they
can work out, they can work onstuff, I get it. Now, you could
(08:34:45):
just put the show on Netflix ona device and listen to it if you
wanted to. But we're gonna breakit down for you. So I think
that's fantastic. I think thatwere like a part of the show
like a supplemental part of theshow. But I love that we're now
replacing the show for 46 yearold guy. Nice. So kudos on you.
Thank you for for being a fanfor taking the time to write the
(08:35:06):
review. Number one of two ofyour podcast. I don't know what
the other one is, but I'm gladbut we're the one that really
made you love Cobra Kai. So I'mtouched.
Sal Rodriguez (08:35:16):
You know, I used
to listen to the first couple of
seasons of you and I doing let'stalk Cobra Kai. I did listen to
other I'm not going to use theword competitor but other people
like other podcasts related toit. And I did appreciate a
couple of them. I listened to afew of them. I kind of fell off
so I'm gonna go ahead and givehim a relisten Yeah, but I yeah,
(08:35:37):
I'm genuinely curious. What arethe other two top two? What is
the other one because you don'twant if one of our fans 46 year
old guy loves another podcastthat's related to Cobra Kai. I
would love to know I'd love tohear it. I would listen to it
myself.
Jason Connell (08:35:52):
I don't want to
tell you this. But I secretly
launched Let's talk Karate Kid.
And I've been doing that.
Sal Rodriguez (08:35:59):
Ever another co
host. Yeah, another Politico's
sign I
Jason Connell (08:36:02):
understand the
truth is understand the truth is
that alright, so please take thenext one.
Sal Rodriguez (08:36:08):
I love this
podcast, exclamation mark. I've
listened to every single episodeof this podcast multiple times.
Can't Get Enough. Nice, consistently funny. Consistently
entertaining. Consistentlywholesome. If I could give more
than five stars. I genuinelywould. That's by H L. E. B L A N
(08:36:31):
C. One, two. H Le Blanc. 12. ViaApple podcasts. Thank you so
much.
Jason Connell (08:36:38):
I love it. Love
that. That's very good. You give
us an 11
Sal Rodriguez (08:36:46):
That's great.
Give us a seven stars.
Jason Connell (08:36:48):
I love it
consistently funny.
Entertaining. Wholesome morethan five stars listens to every
episode of this podcast multipletimes. This is a superfan man.
Wow. You know,
Sal Rodriguez (08:37:01):
Jason, I love to
our listeners. Sometimes Jason
and I will be like, should wedrop an F bomb or be like, while
the show drops an F bomb? Yeah.
So if the show drops an F bomb,we drop an F bomb. But we try to
keep our content as far as like,if the show is NC 17. We're
sevens, NC 17. If the show is PG13, we're PG 13. We're trying to
just basically stay on levelwith the show itself. So
(08:37:23):
whatever Cobra Kai is, that'swhat we are as well.
Jason Connell (08:37:30):
Yeah, I'm not
against cursing in the real
world, if it enhances somethinga point or if it's relevant, but
I just kind of made a decisionon this show. Even when they do
it. I even hold back somebecause unless it's like it
really is needed. It's justnever felt necessary to me. But
this show does the show crosseslines that I was shocked about
(08:37:51):
like, Well, that was an F bomb.
Yeah. And then we might work itinto conversation. But you know,
you listen to some podcasts. AndI'm not judging. But it's so
much I can see as a listener, even if it's funny, too much is
too much, too much of anythingis too much. The one thing he
can't do enough of is thank yourfans. And that's what we're
doing right?
Sal Rodriguez (08:38:12):
The one thing you
can't do enough of five star
reviser
Jason Connell (08:38:15):
are more apple,
or thank you Hleb L A and C 12.
Awesome review, really kudosmuch appreciative. And now,
another five star review. Greatshow, like listening to friends.
I love that I really do. I'mlate to the Cobra Kai train and
(08:38:38):
karate kid. I binge watch allthe episodes and immediately
looked for a podcast. This onewas the best of all the ones out
there. I have listened to allthe shows now. And it's been
great. Thanks for all you do, bymy little melody. Great handle.
(08:39:00):
And great review. late to thetrain. We've talked about this
recently. Maybe it was the lastvolume. But you know, not
everyone jumps on things as theycome out summer season.
Sal Rodriguez (08:39:11):
Jason, I was late
to the tree, you
Jason Connell (08:39:14):
were like, I had
to introduce you to Cobra Kai.
But we're still you know, we'restill an early adopter to
compare to so many. But now thisperson, my little melody has
binge watched all the episodes.
And we are that companion forthis fan. And that's really
means a lot. And I love that.
We're like listening to friends.
And now it's like, they're inthe inner circle, you know, you
(08:39:36):
do a five star review, you're inthe inner circle, you become a
patreon in the inner circle. SoI love it. It's great to have
you on board. And this review isfantastic. And again, it's going
to be on the website posted forall to see.
Sal Rodriguez (08:39:51):
Yep. And I just
want to be clear for all of our
listeners. Jason and I werefriends. But we have a history.
You know, Jason and I go backyears. You know what, just like
Jason was doing his Yeah, Jasonwas doing his film festivals
before that Jason hired beforethat Jason was casting for his
documentaries. So Jason wascasting for his documentaries.
(08:40:12):
Then he has film festivals. Thenhe needed a host and a moderator
for his film festivals in LosAngeles. So we have a history
together. Jason and I so just tobe clear, when Jason contacted
me about podcasting, I wasretired from podcasting. I was
like, Yeah, I've done it. ButJason contacted me. And when
Jason contacted me, I'm like,You know what, I'll give it a
(08:40:32):
go. So I gave it a go because ofJason. Otherwise, I would have
just been retired and be donebecause I had a podcast career.
I was on Sirius XM. I had agreat time. I was done. But
Jason comes along and now herewe are. Here we
Jason Connell (08:40:46):
are you I was
thinking about that the other
day. We met in oh, fiveFebruary, I think it was
February 5. So just think aboutthat. We've known each other now
for 18 years. Nice. 18 years andwe our anniversary was four days
ago. On the day that we met.
Sal Rodriguez (08:41:06):
You remember the
day that we met? Because the
audition
Jason Connell (08:41:08):
because the
audition? Yeah, well, that was
because the audition. Soundsgood to me is my mind. February
5 2005. No, I remember it. Ithad to be and you came out to
the audition. And I rememberthinking he's not right for this
role. I know, you've probablyheard that before. As an actor.
He's not right for this role, but we love this guy. But I
(08:41:32):
found another role for youhosting at the festival. And the
rest, as they say, is history.
Sal Rodriguez (08:41:39):
Yeah, and here we
are. No, it's been a long run.
It's gone through ups and downs.
And I'm so happy to be here.
Thank you, Jason.
Jason Connell (08:41:46):
And I'm sorry to
say that this is the end of it.
Sal Rodriguez (08:41:50):
Good night. Good
night and
Jason Connell (08:41:53):
it lasted. Why
did okay, so I believe my
friend, Europe.
Sal Rodriguez (08:41:59):
Great Cobra Kai
and Karate Kid commentary. Love
these guys. They're a bit older.
What else?
Jason Connell (08:42:07):
Where's the
record?
Sal Rodriguez (08:42:09):
guessing they're
a bit older so have a true
appreciation and memory for theoriginal movies, which adds a
nice layer of personal stories, along with the love for the
show. They do their research andtheir dynamic is hilarious.
We'll never forget Southstories. This is embarrassing.
(08:42:31):
My will never will never forgetSouth stories about being a
juvenile delinquent and fillingfor Robbie. Haha. Yes, folks. I
spent time in Sylmar juveniledetention facility where Robbie
was a prisoner himself. Yeah, Iwas there when I was a kid. I
(08:42:52):
had a juvenile delinquentsspell. So believe me I relate to
Robbie in our storyline. Iabsolutely do. Thank you
Hawaiian. Sophie HawaiianSophie. Via Apple podcast Thank
you Hawaiian Sophie in the city.
Yeah, what is that in this
Jason Connell (08:43:09):
like? Did you say
the whole thing the first time I
like Hawaiian
Sal Rodriguez (08:43:12):
Sophie in the
city city via Apple podcast
Jason Connell (08:43:15):
fan tastic
review. Hawaiian Sophie and the
city. Really funny. Yes, sounddoes share things we both do.
But your juvenile delinquentstories are famous or infamous
around here. Wonderful stuff. Icaught you an alum I was just
kidding. I was this kid. Butyeah, the personal stories
(08:43:37):
layered in give it hopefullyjust a little bit more depth and
you get to know us better. Andyes, we are a bit older. I don't
know who you're comparing us to.
You know, like you're
Sal Rodriguez (08:43:48):
compared to
compared to mochi. Oh, zap
cohere. Not
Jason Connell (08:43:54):
older, but Robbie
and the younger Kasher. Yeah.
Sal Rodriguez (08:43:59):
Compared to to
compare to Eli and hawk. I am
older. Yes, yes,
Jason Connell (08:44:04):
yes. Yes,
absolutely. Thank you. Fantastic
review really funny. Good stuff, also. So I just realized I had
the wrong date. We met onFebruary 4 2005. So our February
4 Meeting anniversary was fivedays ago, I had to make sure it
was the fourth to the fifth. Itwas a Friday, not a Saturday and
(08:44:26):
I looked it up so
Sal Rodriguez (08:44:27):
18 years and our
second meeting would have been
Gibson guitar, right?
Jason Connell (08:44:31):
No, the first
year the festival would have
been what incentive space? Yeah,it wasn't Gibson guitar. That
was oh, wait, it was oh seven.
Sal Rodriguez (08:44:41):
Okay, so that was
one or two years there between?
Yeah,
Jason Connell (08:44:44):
I said give me
one Sal Rodriguez find him and
we went to your files. Give me ayoung Sal Roderick. I need any
young Sal Rodriguez quick. Allright. We only have not many
more. But this is so much fun.
And here we go. The next one.
Cobra rolling it. Great title. Igotta say. I have absolutely
(08:45:08):
loved your guys show from dayone. And this is an awesome
intro. You guys are totally mybros in my headspace. Keep up
the great art and I will foreverlisten. I would even be down
with a rewatch starting fromseason one, episode one as it
(08:45:29):
relates to today's world andevents. Yeah, think about this
out that was pre pandemic. Theworld was different. It was on
YouTube read. It was a differenttime. Still going. Seriously.
cannot get enough of you guyswhen it comes to the Cobra Kai
karate The kid universe. Wow. Sonice. It was fantastic. What a
(08:45:55):
review and this is by h o l z.
capital A. I love it. You areour bro. And our headspace.
Sal Rodriguez (08:46:07):
I liked it. I
liked that part. You guys are
totally my bros in my headspace.
That means like he's like, likeliving his life, working his
job, whatever the heck thatmight be. And like he's thinking
of our show.
Jason Connell (08:46:18):
He said he's
doing that. All right, Jason.
Sal, we're back for anotherepisode. So nice. Yeah, I love
it. And he's been with us fromday one. Hey, man, that's great.
And you know what, let's notoverlook what he threw out
there. Rewatch starting fromseason one, episode one. Yeah,
it's something we could do. Wecould do sit down and you and I
(08:46:40):
watch it in real time. Or wewatch it and we just do an
episode right then in there.
Like we just jump on for even a510 minute, just faster version.
We are starting to do rewatcheson Well, we did a lot of scene
by scene breakdowns. That's whatwe do on the show. Let's October
guy. And let's talk movies. Wedid those as well. Movies, scene
by scene breakdown like karatekid one too. But we're doing
(08:47:01):
classic movies. Now we're doingsome rewatches. I watch a movie
I've seen. But it's like, wow,it's fresh. In my mind, I
grabbed Sal or another co host,or I go on solo, and just do an
episode for that. So I love thatidea of rewatching. Because you
might love something once. Andyou could love it again, but for
very different reasons. And it'sinteresting to explore that. So
I like it. So shout out to houseI can't say yes or no to that.
(08:47:25):
But it's worth thinking about.
Maybe randomly.
Sal Rodriguez (08:47:31):
It's great. No,
you don't want Jason I am not
inherently a rewatch. And I'mnot one of these guys that
watches the favorite movie1020 30 times 100 times, I'm not
that guy. But over the years,I've become more appreciative of
that. Because what happens isthis, like you watch something
at your state in life. And then10 years later, you watch it
(08:47:51):
again and 10 years later front, and you're watching the same
content at different stages ofyour own life. And you're going
to experience that contentdifferent. Plus over time, I've
become more appreciative. Yeah.
Jason Connell (08:48:05):
Yeah, no, that's
why even like the let's talk
movies for various reasons, because it's an outlet for me,
it's almost an excuse to gorevisit something when I go
visit a movie. It's really likesitting down with a good friend.
You know, you might forget a fewdetails here and there if it's
been long enough, but a welltold movies, a well told story,
and we don't run out of wantingto hear or see great stories
(08:48:27):
unfold. So I'm glad that we canbe a little bit of that for
someone else that just curiousmedia content, we have fans. And
that means so much to me, thatwe do these episodes to shine a
light on the fans, because theykeep us going. When we're
overwhelmed with things in ourown lives. And this, that and
the other and we're doingmultiple things. And it's like,
(08:48:48):
oh, yeah, there's someone elseout there that wants our
content. And it it just means aton. I know it does to you as
well.
Sal Rodriguez (08:48:56):
Well, yeah.
Because you know, in thebeginning, I was reluctant in
the beginning was like, I don'tknow about these Fan
Appreciation because I kind offelt like we were just tooting
our own horn. Like we're like,Hey, everybody, look how awesome
we are. But later, I'm realizingno, that's not what it's about.
It's not about how great we are.
It's about honoring our fans.
It's about giving our fans awall of fame on our own website.
Just curious media.com It'sabout honoring our listeners.
(08:49:19):
It's about giving kudos to ourlisteners who are there
supporting us. That's what theseepisodes are about.
Jason Connell (08:49:26):
Absolutely. Well,
we have two left. You'll take
one I'll take the last one.
Sal Rodriguez (08:49:34):
Five Star Review.
Hope this podcast never dies.

Thank you. G three Angelo's andyes, you have chosen to the
right podcast follow of whichwill never die. I love it. I
love it. Good stuff here folks.
Good stuff. And that leaves
Sal Rodriguez (08:50:30):
the word chosen.
I'll never be the Chosen Oneforever. First of all, there's
no other name chosen now. So theword chosen Yeah. Will never be
the
Jason Connell (08:50:38):
right usage there
and love it. And this will wrap
up this fan appreciation volumemate. This Cobra Kai I podcast
this cobra guy podcast. I likethat. I hope it's a good thing
we know it's a five star. Idon't ever watch podcast like
this is my second day listeningto my first ever podcast and I
(08:51:00):
love it. And even more cuz Ilove Cobra Kai. I'm a huge fan.
I just love Wow. And this is byTravis Nelson. 1036 1036 a lot
of love here a lot of passionTravis, I get you man, I get
(08:51:20):
nothing else like it. And he's afan of the show us and he wanted
to share it and we needed it.
And another beautiful five starreview.
Sal Rodriguez (08:51:30):
JC you know what
this means? Travis Nelson 1036
shares first ever podcast. Wewill forever live and Travis
Nelson's mind as the first everpodcast that he listened to.
Jason Connell (08:51:43):
You know what he
did? What? He chose him the
right. To soon
Sal Rodriguez (08:51:57):
I'll take it.
I'll take it.
Jason Connell (08:52:00):
Now very great to
be someone's Yeah, first
podcast. And also like, a lot ofpeople don't watch podcasts or
they don't listen, they'll theythey're funny that people
consume content in a veryintimate way. Like, I don't do
that I do this. But to be like,I never do that. Well. Now I do.
This is actually pretty good tobe that barrier that broke
someone through Yeah, man, Ihave mine, I have my little
(08:52:22):
special like I was into thatshow before it got big, you
know, those types of thingsyou're proud of. I was into that
band. And now everyone'slistened to that band. well
aware that for some people, andthat's really amazing. Like,
it's not lost on me at all. Youknow, so unlike a film festival,
when I was running filmfestivals or making movies,
going to film festivals, podcasting is very much like in
(08:52:45):
the studio, you and me or me anda guest host or me in a solo,
you're not out seeing your fans.
I'm not going Hey, I saw hey, let's talk Cobra Kai, Hey,
what's up just curious media. Solike, this is how we talk to our
fans. And we do plucks up andask them to come on the show
with us every once in a while.
And that's how we get thatinteraction. So it really is
(08:53:07):
amazing, because we just we missout on some of those other
layers that we would get in thereal world. If you will, yeah.
Sal Rodriguez (08:53:14):
Well, yeah, we
are an audio medium consumed by
people at their leisure. Yes,pretty much. So yeah, they're
not relying on us to be anywherein particular, because that's
kind of spoils the whole point, the whole point of people
listening to podcasts is thatthey can listen to it at their
leisure on their time when theywant and how they want. So us
(08:53:34):
appearing somewhere? Well, that's kind of create some sort
of other word variable thatwe're not accustomed to, or the
listener is not accustomed
Jason Connell (08:53:42):
to. But wait
until we take it on the road.
Who will make new fun, believe
Sal Rodriguez (08:53:46):
me, I've thought
about that. You and I shouldn't
be on the road. We shouldn't beat various cones and so forth.
Jason Connell (08:53:51):
And yeah,
luxurious look for us in the
future folks doing some funstuff, but we're gonna be coming
back and doing more of these. Sothat covers itself. That is the
end of volume eight, I cannotbelieve it. A ton of great
stuff. Any parting words for ourwonderful fans?
Sal Rodriguez (08:54:08):
No, just want to
say thank you to all of our
Patreon to all of our listenersto all of our supporters to all
of our five star reviewers.

agree 1,000% We couldn't do it
without you guys. It would justbe Sal and I and we could save a
lot of money and just call eachother on the old phone. But we
