Jason Connell (00:01):
Whoa, just curious. Welcome to Just curious
media. This is let's talk CobraKai. I'm Jason Connell.

Sal Rodriguez (00:11):
And I'm Sal Rodriguez.

Jason Connell (00:12):
All right, Sal.
We are back for an update.

Sal Rodriguez (00:18):
Oh, I think you're gonna say special
episodes. Oh,

Jason Connell (00:20):
I curveball there.

Sal Rodriguez (00:22):
You did. I was getting ready for a special
episode, because we've beenhaving a lot of special
episodes. So

Jason Connell (00:26):
special, but not tonight. It's special, but it's
an update. Oh, wow. And I'lltell you what it is. Because all
new to you. Well, let's go backin the Wayback Machine. Back in
February 16. To be exact, werecorded a really cool episode.

(00:49):
And that was better off dead1985 scenes with Yugi Nakamoto.
Nice. Yeah. And it was great. Wewere delving into an older
movie, a movie in which Yugi hada great role in and he had
memorable scenes in that movie.
You haven't seen that movie?
Hadn't and still have not seenthat movie?

Sal Rodriguez (01:12):
No, I'm waiting for you to give me the bootleg
copy.

Jason Connell (01:14):
I do not have a bootleg copy. I have a
legitimate copy. But it was funto go down that rabbit hole and
discuss it because it was beforethe Karate Kid part two. And it
was you know, one of the earlymovies in his resume and
filmography and it's a moviethat was very close and dear to
my heart growing up, not knowinghim. Revisiting the movie

(01:35):
recently rewatching the movieand going OMG there is chosen
and one of my favorite movies.
So we did a deep dive into that.
In fact, this was a synopsis forthat episode. Jason Connell and
Sal Rodriguez discuss utyokomoto memorable scenes from
the classic movie better offdead. Now the synopsis for

(01:56):
better off dead just breezethrough this okay? Yes, after
his girlfriend ditches him for aborsch ski Jack Lane decides
that suicide is the only answer.
However, his increasingly ineptattempts bring him only more
agony and embarrassment. It's acomedy. It's incredibly fun, and
hilarious at times, memorablecharacters UWGB and one of them.

(02:20):
And so I know you haven't seenit. But I guess I'm pumping this
out. Because I think our fansand you would love to see it if
you haven't. And if you haveseen it, you'd love to revisit
it knowing you know who Chosunis. Oh, yeah. But what happened?
That historic night that werecorded this episode was the
fact that we explored hisscenes, and I put three of them

(02:41):
on the hit list. We did allthree. Then I actually watched
the whole movie again, just, youknow, rewatch join it. And I
knew something was missing. Evenwhen I was editing the episode
like ah, yeah, three is a greatnumber. But wait a second. He
has two more scenes that one didnot discuss.

Sal Rodriguez (03:03):
Are they as memorable as the other? Oh,
yeah, absolutely. So

Jason Connell (03:05):
we are going to tack those on. Just hit those to
show them. Hear them. But alsoexplain the first three scenes
as well. So you can kind of getit all here. But really, it's a
one two punch with the originalepisode. So

Sal Rodriguez (03:19):
no, Jason, I'm happy to be here because I think
this is like a wonderful tributeto ug I really do.

Jason Connell (03:24):
Exactly. Oh, and here's the poster by the way
over my shoulder. Let's see it.
And you know, he's on thethey'll poster.

Sal Rodriguez (03:32):
Nice, right, right

Jason Connell (03:33):
over there.
That's cool. And the right sidenow, here's this little for
those of you on YouTube. Checkthis out. Yeah, there is Yugi
Nice. That's from the last scenethat he's in in the movie, but
I'm gonna back up to the posteragain. So do you know do we know
how old he was at the time andneeded Throw me something like
this? I wish I could look it up.

(03:54):
I don't mean looks really young.
So he looks young now. I'm gonnaguess he'd pie would have been
in his 20s Just my early guests.
Now quickly, I have to givecredit to those of you or those
that brought us better off donot do the hitlist real fast
besides ug the writer, directorsavage Steve Holland also did

(04:15):
One Crazy Summer which also hadour lead Lane Meyer played by
junk Hoosac. I highly recommendthat movie as well. They're not
a sequel of each other. Youknow, they're not but they're
very similar tone comedy, a lotof the things the same way but
different characters, differentcharacters and acoustics playing
a different person, but it's theDini mores in that one, it's

(04:37):
great, but I think I preferbetter off dead. Now it is John
Cusack playing Lane Meyer. Hewas in movies just before this
class 16 candles, Grandview USAall supporting roles, little
bitty rolls, and then he was inthe sure thing, Rob Reiner film.
Daphne Zuniga, great movie. He'sone of the leads. So this was

(04:58):
his next movie as a leading manAnd I guess more like in the
teen movie leading man but inacoustics still going strong. Of
course, it's incredible. whomI've met once, but that's for
another day. I have met him onedegree with acoustic, one degree
of separation. Then there's utOkamoto, who plays ye Sook re,

(05:20):
and his brother played by Brianimata. Who's cin MRI. Now, of
course, as I mentioned, this ispre the credit card, part two,
and Brian Amata would go on andhave fascinating stunts career
and just three movies that stoodout and I think I mentioned them
on the last episode two was BigTrouble in Little China. They
live and escaped from LA. So heworks with John Carpenter a lot.

Sal Rodriguez (05:43):
Very cool. Which really, you know what? I owe a
total big fan. I'm very happyfor ug, because he's on the
movie poster. He's not even onthe movie poster of karate kid
too. And he has a majorantagonistic role, right? No,
you're

Jason Connell (05:56):
right. Good call.
And

Sal Rodriguez (05:57):
yet he's on the movie poster for better often. I
think that's fantastic.

Jason Connell (06:01):
I do too.
Fantastic. How did I notrecognize it? Back in the day,
but whatever it happens. Well, one reason I didn't recognize
the cell or remember it, Iremember him I remember his role
is because it's not his voice.
Yeah. And he's really took onthe persona. He's taken on the

(06:22):
persona of Howard Cosell fromthe Wide World of Sports also
from boxing and Monday NightFootball, but Howard Cosell was
amazing. I'll once box over, youknow, he just had that cadence
that no one else was like him. Ihas been. And so table
imitatable. So Yugi gets thisrole of the two brothers three

(06:42):
brothers. He's the only one whospeaks. But he speaks Howard
Cosell. And he trained for it.
And he got his accent down andhe had an Asian version of
Howard Cosell. Everybody wascracking up and post production.
They went and got you know who?

Sal Rodriguez (06:58):
Yeah, yeah.
Superstar all my life growingup. I mean, he was the premier
impressionist. Yeah, on thecircuit on every talk show.
That's the great rich littleYeah,

Jason Connell (07:07):
he's fantastic.
And you don't even know it'srich little it sounds like
Howard Cosell. And it comes offgreat. But you didn't know this
until he's like, saw the movieor learned later on. He was
like, Well, hey, it's theirmovie. He had a really good
attitude about it. But if it washis voice or not, you're still
getting a caricature of HowardCosell. But it was always
memorable to me. You know, theend of the movie is like

(07:28):
language lessons spoken from aman who knows how to ski. And I
always think about that like,Oh, that was hilarious. Not
remembering it was Yugi OkamotoAnyway, great movie, hilarious
stuff. He's intertwine throughthe movie. And what's happening
is him and his brother for noreason at all. Drive around town

(07:48):
and their little car speakers ontop of the car. And he's got a
microphone doing the Wide Worldof Sports. And he does
commentary and they're alwaysracing lane. So like he always
pops in and they raise insight.
Lane Meyer, I'll once so he goesinto his stick, and then they
race. So you know, it's beengoing on for a while.

Sal Rodriguez (08:11):
Right? And also Jason I'm probably a theorize in
here that if you're willing todrive around with a speaker on
the top of your car, you'reprobably doing different voices
for other scenarios. You

Jason Connell (08:22):
would hope you wouldn't. Yeah, well, you

Sal Rodriguez (08:23):
would hope so. I mean, otherwise, are you just
just being Howard Cosell?

Jason Connell (08:27):
He's got the jacket. They have the wide runs?

Sal Rodriguez (08:32):
Yes, they just go around exclusively as Howard
Cosell? Yes. Yeah. Cuz they saidthat he learned English from
watching why? Yeah. So so it'snot just they weren't just
picking on No, John Cusack.

Jason Connell (08:41):
They drive a race other people. Yeah, that's
hilarious. And the brothers thedriver, he's always ready to
have gloves on. And so it'sreally funny. So when we talked
about it

Sal Rodriguez (08:51):
on the like, Jason, like when people commit
to stuff? Oh, yeah, like they'recommitted.

Jason Connell (08:55):
And when we revisited the movie, well,
actually, I was watching it andit popped on. Here's what
happened. I didn't really finishit. I watched it. It hit a
point. I was like, Get out ofhere. Mind blown. There is
YuGiOh Komodo chosen and betteroff dead. Quickly put together
an episode for us. And then spotcheck the movie because like,
oh, yeah, I know he was in herehere. I was kind of guessing.

(09:18):
Like, because I remember he's inthe end. He's in the middle. And
he's near the beginning. Well, then I watched it the other day
after I edited the episode andreleased it. I thought, oh my
gosh, he's in two more greatscenes. So we're going to set
the stage. I'm going to mentionthese in order. I'll talk about
the ones we've already shown onthe previous episodes. We're not
going to show those, we'll justtalk about them. But we will

(09:40):
stop and play the ones that weremissed. And here's how it goes
of the three I shared already.
It's like every other one. So Ishared the first one. The third
one and the fifth one so we'refilling in the gaps literally
here. Okay, so the first scenein the movie was Elaine is
driving his mother They'restationwagon. And he's comes

(10:01):
across the rebreathers in theirold sedan with the mounted
speaker on top and they race andthat's the first time we see
them. It's very early in themovie. And Elaine mistakenly has
his car in reverse and he slamsinto the truck behind them. Well
the driver wants to absolutelykill lane and he is driving a

(10:22):
big burgers truck. Now that'llcome into play. I'll tell you
about that later. But the driverof the truck

Sal Rodriguez (10:31):
his name, do you say big burgers or pig burgers?
Pig P I

Jason Connell (10:35):
dig burgers.
Yeah, big burgers that make moresense. But yeah, there's a whole
reason for that when you watchthe movie, but the driver of the
truck is Rocco. And the actor isChuck Mitchell who played Porky
in Porky's. And he is mad asheck at Lane and it's hilarious.
Because he's behind him. Herecomes his kid slamming into him.

(10:56):
So he gets out of his car andhe's gonna take things into his
own hands essentially.

Sal Rodriguez (11:01):
Really funny those Porky's movies, those poor
kid movies were huge. That's awhole

Jason Connell (11:04):
other episode. So I'm, let's talk, I gotta see
that. Okay, so I'm setting upthe second scene. And the second
one I skipped last time, Lane, again, drives the station wagon.
I'll go ahead and set the stagenow. And then we'll play it. And
he was just dumped by hisgirlfriend, which is the big
theme in the movies part of thesynopsis. And he encounters the

(11:25):
rebreathers again, and they raceand he somehow hits the pig
burgers truck at this time, pigburgers is in front of him. Same
driver, Porky Rocco, who againwants to kill him. And of course
later in the movie, I'll goahead and give this away spoiler

(11:46):
alert. Lane gets a job at pigburgers. And their slogan is
everybody wants some and thenthere's a Van Halen song and a
whole sequence. So a lot of funthings pay off. Things pay off.
So let's play that scene first.

Sal Rodriguez (12:02):
I'm ready.

Media (12:07):
trollee site Toby. Man beat the once great champ. Now I
study and Mark fishness nolonger the factory hungry
stallion Wave Race so many timesbefore? But apathetic wash up h

(12:28):
x champion. All right, let's go.
I want to break your back

Jason Connell (12:48):
oh my gosh, how good is that sound?

Sal Rodriguez (12:52):
That's funny.
Just just the scene alone ishilarious. I got to see this
movie man. Also, because, youknow, they're playing off the
inherent awkwardness of findingyourself next to somebody that
you know, I've been there nextto somebody you know, hey,
that's the guy I work with. Kindof weird, you know, so So right
away awkward. And then playingon top of that. I love it.

Jason Connell (13:13):
Well, it's funny as he winds up working for this
guy and the guy does notremember this. We don't see this
that was laying that hit himtwice.

Sal Rodriguez (13:20):
So here's it working for the Porky's guy.
Yeah, who drives the pig burger?

Jason Connell (13:24):
It's a job there later in the movie like God,
because his dad put it in motionso he doesn't recognize him.
That guy probably thinks allteenagers are lunatics. And he
hates them all. But yeah, anyway, and great sequences at
the restaurant, I must say. Sothe third thing which we've
already shown and listened toand talked about on the last
episode, so we're not going toshow it but here's what happens.

(13:44):
Lane has Monique and RickyMonique is the girl across the
street. She was in movies likeBill and Ted's Excellent
Adventure. And she's stayingwith Ricky. She's a foreign
exchange student and Ricky wasahead of the class. He's really
funny. And they're on thestation wagon, and they again
come across the rebreathers. Butthis time lane is explaining to

(14:05):
his passengers and we theaudience learn of the origins of
you know, e Sook. And why hespeaks Howard Cosell and all
that stuff because they don'ttalk about it in these first two
sessions. Were just like, oh,who are these guys? What is
this? So that's a great chancefor us to learn. And then they
race and lane and company windup losing nearly hitting a bunch

(14:29):
of nuns if you recall, and Iwind up in some water with some
ducks where the roads beingconstructed kind of like an
episode of Dukes of Hazzard ishow that one concludes.

Sal Rodriguez (14:40):
So I love the idea Jason that they that he
learned English from watchingwide world sport because I'm
reminded I'm reminded as alittle boy when I was a little
boy, some of the first crushes Ihad like a grown women. Oh,
yeah, female newscasters. I go,Oh my God. I had a thing for
calling Williams. I grew up herein Los Angeles watching Colleen
Williams, NBC. Okay, so she wason NBC. reach out to for. So

(15:02):
recently I was at a party abouta year ago, I was at a party,
she was there and I saw her shewas there. Oh my God, my child
had grown woman crush. Now shewould be about 70. You know, 75.
I mean, she was older than mestill looking good. I was
seriously I was like, Oh my God.
It's like, I still have a crush,even though she's like in her
70s. Now, that's, like,beautiful, she's beautiful.

Jason Connell (15:22):
I was at a party one time true story. And I love
that story. It reminds I have totell a story to now go ahead.
But I was at a party one time.
And there was Rebecca de Mornay.
And this isn't that this is like1516 years ago, and I'm going
back in my mind to riskybusiness. And I'm trying to be
cool, but I meet her. And wehave this great exchange,

(15:43):
meaning a buddy, and then shewalks away or we you know, we
all part ways. And it's likewe're geeking out like that is
Rebecca de Mornay. So I'mtexting friends just that you
know, we all grew up watchingRisky Business and she was like
the it girl at the time. So butnow you're grown man, you got to
play a cool kind of play away.
Cool. And I was over it. But itwas just like, what younger me
would say someday you're gonnameet her at a party and have a

(16:07):
really nice conversation. Shewas lovely. So there you have
it.

Sal Rodriguez (16:11):
Well, I should hope when you were young man,
your your future fantasies wouldhave been a little more involved
than just meeting her and havinga conversation. Yes,

Jason Connell (16:18):
it's true.
Anyway, this is the fourth sceneone we did not talk about one of
the ones that was missed omittednot on purpose. And here's what
happens. This is this is greatbecause you have a loss, a loss,
a loss as far as the win losscolumn for ln verse three
brothers. And this is whenthings change. This is when good

(16:40):
luck changes and he has goodfortune, because there's no more
stationwagon. That helps. Thathelps a lot. And Monique helps
Elaine fix his Camaro. I believeit's a 1967 Camaro with the help
of an 80s Montage. So you got tosee the movie to see the
montage. We're not going to dothat. And then they take it out
for a spin. And when they do soSal, there's an iconic song, one

(17:04):
that resonates in movies, muchlike risky business. It's
actually in risky business. Truestory. It's the muddy water song
mannish boy, I'm a man. And ifyou don't know by name, you're
gonna know it very shortlybecause it's I Kotick and they
fire up the car that song comeson, they encounter the read

(17:26):
brothers, who this time havecompany to female to lady
friends are in the car. It'shysterical. They're all eating
Chinese food. And I see Laneroll up. And then they dumped
the Chinese food put on helmets.
And then Lane takes off becausehe's in the Camaro. They don't
even get off the starting line.
The girls bailed ordisappointed. And the

(17:48):
rebreathers get into a fight.

Sal Rodriguez (17:52):
Wait a second, Jason. I'm sorry. You know, how
did you miss this the first time

Jason Connell (17:57):
because I was spot checking. I had only
watched the first 15 minutes andmy mind was blown that there was
a UG. So unfortunately, I justlike oh, yeah, I know what
happens again, and I jumped tothe end. That was my bad. That
was me being overwhelmed by themoment. Okay, overzealous. I was
a little overzealous. I wasready to get into studio. Yeah,

(18:18):
this one is the one I'm tellingyou. It's gonna take me a minute
to cue it up. Because it's alittle further in the movie.
This is like so that first one Ishould say, was like seven
minutes and the second wreck waslike 13 And then there's a gap.
You don't see the rebreathersfor a while. So we're getting
later into the movie The CamaroThis is like the when ln is
starting to you know, changethings and no longer wants to

(18:40):
die. No longer wants to bebetter off dead. Okay, that's
good. So yeah, it's a good,

Sal Rodriguez (18:44):
it's good. Yeah, I like it. One thing that comes
to mind is the rebreathers drivearound looking for labor or they
happen to come across late.

Jason Connell (18:52):
If we ever get ug on the show. We'll have to tack
that on to our question.

Sal Rodriguez (18:57):
Like, I really I love the ideas of two guys just
driving around being silly witha with a speaker on their car. I
think he could have had theirown show. Yeah, they could have
had their own their own WideWorld of Sports. And I can't
wait to hear the song thatyou're talking about because I
just saw Risky Business not solong ago.

Jason Connell (19:12):
Oh, it's so good.
Rescue business the ladies keptcoming in the prostitutes in the
movie. Bronson Pinto kept tryingto close the door and another
lady. Oh yes. That was the same.
The greatest pain alivefor the one i Oh, by the way,

(19:39):
I've been to the house. I'vementioned that on the original
episode I visited the house

Sal Rodriguez (19:54):
so they're like the rebreathers are like a GTO.

Jason Connell (20:26):
It's smoked out

Sal Rodriguez (20:39):
I always felt bad for them. Well, they beat him
every other time. That was theirmoment to shine before the
ladies. That's true. So wait, hang on, Jason. I just want to
be clear. Are you absolutelycertain about the vehicles? Was
he in a 67 Camaro?

Jason Connell (20:52):
Well, it's a Camaro. Okay. Online. I saw a
lot of mention of 67 I said, Ithink don't know. You got a fact
check that okay,

Sal Rodriguez (20:59):
what cars were the rebreathers in that I don't

Jason Connell (21:02):
know why they look like Okay, I just said
older sedan, but you're rightcould be a GTO. Not sure you're
the car guy.

Sal Rodriguez (21:08):
Well, no, no, because well, one thing I used
to have a 69 Firebird okay. Andthe 69 Firebird was similar to
the 69 Camaro, which is similarto the 67 Camaro. Okay, I know,
I know a little bit and it washard to tell from the viewer. I
get that I'm gonna check thatout again. And I'm gonna I'm
gonna see what those cars are.
Yeah, I do. I do enjoy cars, especially car history and
cinema.

Jason Connell (21:26):
Maybe there's a toy collectible. For better
there could be

Sal Rodriguez (21:30):
nostalgia is huge right now. The fact that you and
I would theorize that one daythey're gonna have a better off
dead vehicle could absolutelyhappen. That's

Jason Connell (21:41):
crazy. Well, I did say this during that same
that I have been to that housebefore which is at 1636 Virginia
Avenue and Glendale, California, you know the area very well. And
I did look at the house. I tooka photo I had Nico with me. And
I only lived at the time when Idrove over there. 15 minutes
away. And it looked exactly thesame. But there was no car in

(22:04):
the front yard because half themovie or more. So the Camaro is
covered in a car covercocooning. At the end of the
lawn that wasn't there. I put onmy social media years ago, but
really cool. And they don't callit Glendale. They call it like,
Greendale movie, which is great.
I

Sal Rodriguez (22:20):
like that though.
Because it's a tongue in cheek.

Jason Connell (22:22):
It's very catchy.

Sal Rodriguez (22:23):
I like that.
Yeah. Otherwise, you get no tipof the hat. Right? No, no, they
just changed the name of thecity

Jason Connell (22:28):
and the zip code 91202. Just for those. Curious
about that.

Sal Rodriguez (22:33):
So speak speaking of when you see a zip code that
starts with a nine I think thatimplies LA County at least.

Jason Connell (22:39):
Yeah. East Coast.
Earlier numbers as I've learnedliving here. Yeah. Oh, wow. Look
at us. We had two news and one'szip code three. Yeah, well,
there's five digits But alright,so the scene that we don't have
now we'll talk about so this iscool, because this really was
something Yeah, I'm sorry thatthese two are missing. But hey,
we have a second episode out ofthis. We've milked the second

(23:00):
episode. But this is the turningpoint this seemed for was
because they now respect LaneLane smoke them. And even if
they got their act together,he's got a better car. And maybe
they raced back in the day whenthe Camaro was first there and
they're like, hey, now he's in astation wagon. There's a side
story that that we'll never knowunless we get inside
information. But the last scenewith the rebreathers ug in

(23:23):
particular, was at the very endof the movie, no car racing
lane. Does when a ski Ray sothere is a race. And spoiler
alert, and Yusuke and Chen showup at the finish line. As e Sook
interviews Lane Howard Cosellstyle, which I mentioned

(23:44):
earlier, but it's classic. Andnow he's there and and lanes
excited but he wants to wrap upand and go chase Monique down
because she's getting pulledaway by Ricky and his mom. So
it's really funny. And theseguys just pop up out of nowhere
and it's always such comedyrelief. I mean, really Yugi
kills it. And he's definitelythe meteor roll of the two he's

(24:05):
speaking he's very charismatic.
And you can tell like this guy.
I'm sure this role helped himget the credit card. Part Two,
it didn't hurt.

Sal Rodriguez (24:15):
Yeah, well, you gotta be on people's radar. You
have to this roll obviously didthat for him. I love happy
endings, especially in a comedybecause it just adds to the
happiness right? Comedies in theend should give us a feeling of
lightheartedness. Yeah, and whenyou walk away with a happy
ending, I'm reminded of one ofmy favorite movies of all time,
Bugsy Malone, that has that

Jason Connell (24:36):
gamma little love

Sal Rodriguez (24:39):
comes back to you again. So I love Jodie

Jason Connell (24:46):
Foster. Scott bail.

Sal Rodriguez (24:48):
Yeah. And unfortunately if you follow the
trail of Bugsy Malone has donesome documentaries on it. Some
of them had some tragic endings, unfortunately. But yeah, Scott
bale Jodie Foster fantastic. I'mhappy ending love it says a
happier

Jason Connell (25:01):
and directed him in a video for Walmart way back
when she was starting.

Sal Rodriguez (25:05):
Were two degrees.
Two degrees separation fromScott bail through you.

Jason Connell (25:09):
This is great.
Nice. Jodie Foster

Sal Rodriguez (25:13):
and Jodie Foster.
Are you knowing Oh then thatmakes you then two degrees from
Jodie Foster. Yeah. And your2003. I like it.

Jason Connell (25:20):
Anyway, amazing job. This is really about
celebrating Ug yokomoto, who wehave re embraced because of his
role is chosen on Cobra Kai nothis role as I've chosen and the
predicate part 208.

Sal Rodriguez (25:33):
Jason, I'm sorry, please, I have to stop you just
because I want to make sure thatI mentioned this because we may
be visiting this at some point,Cobra Kai, for the first time we
will be receiving I think ourshow is going to get a review
sample, a chosen action figureand this is from his appearance
in Cobra Kai. It's notnecessarily the Karate Kid to

(25:53):
chosen, present day chosen fullyarticulated action figure
brought to us by Diamond SelectThis is historic. And talk about
more tip of the hat and homageto Yugi Yeah, now he's gonna get
an awesome action figure.

Jason Connell (26:06):
That's why they caught breaking news. He just
broke right in there. And

Sal Rodriguez (26:11):
I wanted to make sure that I said that I didn't
want to forget you don't want toI didn't want to say good night
without no I

Jason Connell (26:15):
wasn't about to say good night, but I appreciate
that. That's amazing. To mypoint. He deserves that they
rehabilitated him in such a waythat he could have his own show.
I mean, there's a lot of thingsspeculation going to happen. Who
knows I am so pro chosen hebrings Miyagi, the Miyagi verse
is kind of related to thecharacter from the credit card
part two, just because it's hisphysical person, but he's really

(26:38):
morphed into something that weall are getting behind. And so
it's great to see him here. Hereis right here. This is him from
seeing five by the way as theinterview they Howard Cosell at
the end of the movie, becausehe's not in the car. It's got
the earmuffs on and look atthat. Look. He's just got so
much charisma.

Sal Rodriguez (26:56):
Yeah. And so young. So Young Lane Meyer,

Jason Connell (27:00):
a man who knows how to ski and it's discredit
voices. I need to work on mycosell. But

Sal Rodriguez (27:07):
if they didn't want to afford rich little they
could have got Jason Connell onthe cheap.

Jason Connell (27:10):
I was like, teenager. Work for half of what
Richard? Yeah, just let me onthe set. I just want to see some
things. Anyway. So it was a funDeep Dive. It was an update
episode, but it was filling inthe gaps. I almost called it
Volume Two to volume one. Butthat wasn't the intent. I just
happen to see like, oh my gosh,I need to do these two scenes

(27:32):
that we missed that I missed.
And I did write a disclaimer onthere was like that's not good
enough. We had to delve back inand now you're more inspired
sell to watch better off dead.
Hopefully our fans are as well.
I don't know where you can findit. I bought it on Apple for
like $5 There's so many salesthat are popping up for 99. So I
own it now my collection. I canrevisit it anytime I want. And

(27:56):
this episode, both of themreally brings to mind that we
can do more like this. And sohere's something that's on my
hit list because I recentlywatched cocktail again the 1988
Tom Cruise movie, great movie somuch fun assault in the theater
back in the day. Elizabeth Shueis in the movie. She's the love

(28:17):
interest. And when I watched itnow, years later, post Cobra
Kai, so I'm watching it going.
Wow. Elizabeth shoes character,Jordan Mooney. I'm telling you,
Sal, is very similar to AliMills, really. It could even be

(28:39):
just connected. She's got Ali inher and Jordan is very similar.
Both rich girls waspy parentslooked down on that, you know,
the guy that they're with, andjust the way she carries herself
good natured. Like, I'm reallywatching it going, wow, there's
a lot of Ali mills in her. Andthen there's even a scene when

(29:00):
she takes Tom Cruise down whenthey're in Jamaica, like a
karate move. And I was like, Oh,that's it on the sand. So I
think we should delve into thator at least explore that. Not to
mention Tom Cruise and RalphMasaccio. They're connected
through the outsiders, which isconnected back to me because it
was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. So a lotto explore. They're

Sal Rodriguez (29:20):
just curious media is going to be exploring
outsiders. At some point. It'sjust inevitable.

Jason Connell (29:26):
I totally agree.
Well, Sal, it was great to comeback into the update episode, I
think, an episode maybe longerthan the original, but it was
fun nonetheless. And I think weshould still a play out of the
let's talk movies playbook, ifyou will. So without further
ado, please enjoy better offdead and Yugioh Komodos

(29:51):
performance. So thank you somuch for listening and please be
