Tonya D. Harrison (00:00):
Hello and welcome to another episode of
the Operations Toolbox, the showwhere solopreneurs and
micro-business owners turn tolearn how to leverage tools,
systems and teams to build andgrow sustainable businesses.
I'm your host, Tonya D Harrison, and today we're diving into a
topic that resonates with everyentrepreneur out there.

(00:23):
We're going to be talking aboutclarity in the midst of chaos.
Deep breath.
As solopreneurs andmicro-business owners, we often
find ourselves juggling numeroustasks, wearing multiple hats
and dealing with the constantebb and flow of challenges, both

(00:45):
business and personal.
But fear not.
In today's episode, we'llexplore three key strategies to
help you find clarity when chaosstrikes.
And listen, I know chaos all toowell.
This year, I found myself in achaotic state due to some

(01:10):
personal challenges thatdirectly impacted my business,
so I realized that, when I lookback at every time I found
myself in the midst of chaos andI felt like I could not find
clarity, there were three keythings that I did to help move

(01:35):
myself forward, and I want toshare them with you today.
The first one is something thatwe know all too well, right?
So point number one iscultivating a victorious mindset
.
Most of us understand thatsuccess starts in the mind, and
having a victorious mindset iscrucial in navigating the

(01:57):
turbulent waters ofentrepreneurship.
But it's easier said than doneand I totally get it, and I
understand that Everyone saysadopt a positive mindset.
And, again, easier said thandone.
When you're facing chaos, itcould be extremely tough, but it

(02:20):
could be done.
So, for me, some of the toolsthat I use is I always refer
back to one of my favoritescriptures, which is 2
Corinthians, chapter 10, verse 5, which talks about casting down
arguments and every high thingthat exalts itself against the

(02:41):
knowledge of God, bringing everythought into captivity to the
obedience of Christ.
Now, I like that script.
I actually I love thatscripture, but one of the things
it reminds me of is that I haveto be in control of my thoughts

(03:01):
, which means that I cannot letmy thoughts run rampant, so I
cannot allow negativity toovertake me.
I need to be in control of mythoughts.
I need to remember that I havethe ability to overcome

(03:22):
challenges, so it is aboutadopting a positive mindset and
a resilient attitude, even whenfacing adversity.
I also have some mantras that Iread every single day and I
repeat every single day, and youmay find that during this time,

(03:44):
you have to do more of that.
But whatever you need to do tokeep yourself in a positive
space, you want to do that Evenbeing mindful of the people that
you are around, so that you arenot even around negative energy
.
By maintaining a belief in yourability to overcome challenges,

(04:05):
you set the stage for success.
That, my friend, is number one.
That's point number one.
That is the very beginning.
It starts in the mind.
Now let's move on to the secondpoint.
So the second thing isaddressing the root of the chaos
, right?
So when you are in a chaoticstate and you have a lot going

(04:28):
on, it's really difficult tofigure out how am I going to get
out of this?
Right?
But what we need to do is weneed to identify what the root
of it is and what we can do.
So it's essential to identifythe factors that's causing the
disruption and pinpoint what youcan work on immediately.

(04:51):
So these are going to be thethings that are in our control
and the things that we can workon immediately, like right now.
This is not the time to create afive-year plan, and this is
coming from a planner.
I love planning, but this isnot that time.
This you're going to find it,you're going to address it

(05:13):
immediately.
So say, I have an issue withthe client, right.
What is the issue with theclient and what can I do to fix
it?
Now I can always go back andput a plan in place, right,
create a process in place sothat this doesn't happen again.
But right now, what is it that Ineed to do to address it?

(05:35):
And you need to focus on thethings that you have control
over, because there's going tobe some things that happen that
you may not have control.
So, when we're talking aboutbusiness, whether it's a
bottleneck in your process, is alack of organization or
external factors beyond yourcontrol Addressing these issues

(05:59):
head on allows you to regaincontrol and create a path
forward.
So think about what it isthat's causing it and what can
you do right now to start tomove forward.
That is number two right, and Iwant you to remember use what
you have.
A lot of times, we have thingsright there at our disposal that

(06:22):
we could use to start to workto get ourselves out of this
state immediately, but we reachfor things that are so far
fetched and so far out there, and now is not the time to do
that.
Now is the time to, right now,in your circle, what are the
things that you could use tostart to move yourself forward?

(06:46):
The third thing, and the finalpoint, is asking better
questions for clear insight.
You hear that We've beenhearing this a lot.
Right, so?
But instead of dwelling on thechaos, start to ask yourself
empowering questions.
What can you learn from thissituation?

(07:07):
How can you turn this challengeinto an opportunity?
Right now is there anopportunity to turn this
challenge into an opportunity.
You have to learn how to reframeyour perspective.
That's one of the things I talkabout in another podcast
episode.
When it comes to failure, right, reframing it.

(07:29):
We've been so conditioned tothink that failure is such a
terrible thing and when we do it, it brings about shame and we
don't want to share it a lot oftimes.
But we have to start to reframeit Because there's something to
be learned, there's somethingthat we can grow through.
So by reframing yourPerspective and seeking valuable

(07:52):
insights, you now empoweryourself to make informed
decisions.
So now I can start to makedecisions to even bring me
further away or through thischaotic state, and Then you
start to chart a course towardsclarity.
Things starts to get so clearwhere you can easily see what

(08:17):
your next moves are.
Now.
If you want to develop thefive-year plan, you could go
ahead and do it, but when you'rein that state, that chaotic
state where chaos is consumingyou, you have to find a way out
of that first and then start togain some clarity and then
you'll be able to create yourplan.

(08:38):
So, as solopreneurs and microbusiness owners, we have to be
able to navigate chaos and findclarity, and one of the things
that that can help you isUtilizing tools and systems and
teams.

(08:58):
You know, leveraging thesethings within your business and
even in your personal life.
That is it.
Remember this podcast is yourgo-to resource for mastering the
art of Operations.
If you find yourself in achaotic state as it relates to
your business and even in yourpersonal life, you can take

(09:21):
these key strategies and startto implement them to move
forward.
Before we wrap up today'sepisode, I want to take a moment
to reflect on the three points.
The first one was to cultivatea Victorious mindset.
You got this Address the rootof the chaos, so that you could
start to move forward.

(09:42):
And remember use what you have.
The third and final point is toask better questions for clear
insight.
Apply these principles to yourbusiness and watch as clarity
emerges from the chaos.
That concludes another episodeof the operations toolbox.

(10:03):
I'm Tanya D Harrison, your host, reminding you that with the
right tools and mindset, you canturn chaos into triumph.
Until next time, keep buildingand growing.
