Speaker 1 (00:03):
I don't know, or I
should say I don't remember
exactly when it was that Irealized that as people, we all
don't think the same way.
I, admittedly, there was a pointin my life when I was much
(00:24):
younger where I thought tomyself you know, basically we
see the world the same way aspeople.
You know, we got somedifferences, but we basically
see things the same way.
And then I got a little bitolder and I started seeing the
fact that, well, we don'tnecessarily see things the same
(00:47):
way.
Some areas we get really workedup about and we get we feel
very strongly about we don't seethe same way as the other
person and we let it be known orwe build a kind of a watershed
around it.
Well.
Well, where I'm going with letit be known, or we build a kind
(01:10):
of a watershed around it.
Well, where I'm going with thisis the fact that we, as people,
we don't see things the sameway.
And on one hand, that's reallygood news, because I'm really
glad that people don't seethings exactly the same way that
I do.
I mean, eventually, at least tome, it would become kind of
(01:34):
boring if we all saw thingsexactly the same way.
That's not unity.
Exactly the same way.
That's not unity.
That's like uniformity, wherewe almost have to see things the
same way.
That's like dictatorship, whereif you don't see things the way
(01:57):
that the dictator sees them, well, you're disposable and you
are made disposable because youdon't see things the way the
dictator sees them, uniformly.
But that's not unity, and we'vecovered that before.
(02:19):
What makes up true unity, andreally what makes up true unity
in our context, is relationshipRelationship with God, first and
foremost with God, relationshipwith him and then relationships
with one another.
(02:40):
But even beyond just the sheernotion of relationship, it
involves presence, hallelujah.
I say it because that's where ahallelujah means something to
me the presence of God.
I love God, but I love himbecause of his presence, that
(03:12):
he's made known to me and therelationship that he's made
known to me.
In revealing himself to me,he's amazing.
He is absolutely beyonddescription, is absolutely
beyond description.
His power is so magnificentthat it is once again beyond
description, and so his presencebeing the unifying factor for
(03:38):
those of us who call upon thename of the Lord Jesus as our
Savior, as our salvation, as ourone true hope, the only one
true hope is Jesus, the focalpoint.
That is our basis for unity.
It is Jesus Christ, what he'saccomplished in his physical
(04:04):
body, what he accomplished onhis dying, his crucifixion on
the cross, his shedding of hisblood, his dying, his bleeding
out, completely dying, hisresurrection from the dead and
(04:24):
his ascension to the right handof God, the Father, and his soon
coming return.
He is our focal point, he isour central theme.
If you would just reduce it tothe word theme, he is our theme,
(04:49):
his presence, and so that'swhere we've been once again
zeroing in on for a while, because it's important for us to
periodically bring things allthe way back home why do I
(05:10):
believe what I believe andwhat's the essence, what's the
true basis of my belief and whois central?
Is there a central figure to mybelief?
Am I involved in just areligion or am I really involved
in a relationship?
(05:30):
And these things have to behammered out in order Experience
fullness of life inrelationship with God and with
each other.
Because if they're not hammeredout, we're kind of jellyfishing
(05:55):
, we really don't have a setcourse, we don't have a sail and
an anchor, we're kind ofdrifting, and that's not called
living, that's just mereexistence, and some of you know
(06:15):
exactly what I mean.
You go through life and youhave been going through life
basically basically existing.
You really don't have a realfirm set purpose in your heart,
the thing in which you say Iknow that I'm called to be, and
then fill in the blanks.
Many don't have that guidingassurance or that relational
(06:41):
confidence with God that notonly do you have a relationship
with him, but that he has afunction for you that's
significant.
In his kingdom, he wants you tobe involved with him, not just
an observer of his greatness, which is magnificent enough, but
(07:01):
to be able to share in that, toparticipate in that together
with him, in his nature, withhis nature, by his power, in his
power becoming the power thatwe function with together as one
, together as one.
(07:33):
Things open up for us as aresult of that, coming full
circle to where we began thispodcast by saying that a great
revelation took place within myown personal life that we aren't
all the same, we don't all seethings the same way and we don't
all talk the same way, andthere are some things that, if
(07:57):
we don't know what we believe,we can get caught up in
believing just about anything,and that's where there's a
problem in many settings today, where there's kind of a mixture
(08:20):
of trying to do things by way ofhow they've been done before,
kind of like doing things thatwere successful in one setting
and trying to duplicate them andmake them successful in a
(08:41):
different setting, and themethods aren't working, and part
of the reason is because we'reusing outdated things in trying
to function in a world that isunfolding.
(09:05):
Things are unfolding on a levelright now that are staggering
as far as information goes, justraw information, technological
information, just changing on alevel that is, as I said,
staggering.
(09:26):
And that's not the only levelin which things are changing and
that's important for us who arefollowers of Jesus to really
grasp that in our personal walkwith him.
(09:46):
Things are unfolding.
They're not staying the same, they're not meant to stay the
same.
In fact, every relationship, every healthy relationship,
continues to grow and develop.
We learn new things about theperson that we're with.
(10:09):
We know certain things, yes,but there are certain things
that we don't yet know becausewe're not the same, and there
are some magnificent things thatwe're finding out about each
other.
That's what I like to highlightthe fact that we are finding
out some magnificent thingsabout one another.
But there's this tension thatin settings, that of all
(10:39):
settings, a Christ-like setting,christian Christ-like, where
Christ is central, in a settingin which he is central, you
would think that would be wherethere's the most freedom to be
able to become one.
(11:03):
We start out on different endsof the equation but we wind up
one in him, because the thingsthat were major become minor,
but also things that we didn'tknow before become open to us,
(11:24):
things that we were afraid ofbecome open to us, where
environments that we're in allowfor mistakes to be made,
because we're trying, but wehaven't quite got it all
(11:48):
together yet, but we're trying.
We're trying to function in anew way.
We're trying to explore anddevelop into new things.
One thing where I'm going withthis I'm looking to encourage
individuals who have kind ofbeen on the end of the equation
(12:08):
in some of our Christiancommunities.
Christian communities, peoplethat have had a prophetic
calling and a prophetic natureto their life, where they are
(12:29):
seers and sayers.
That's part of their function,a huge part of their function in
the body of Christ, in thekingdom of God, as citizens.
And they are prophetic, somelegitimate, true prophets,
(12:50):
people who turn up, propheticpeople who have that mantle of
equipping the saints, the officeof prophet, and then there's
prophetic ministry, there'sprophesying, the prophetic
element, some call it theemotions of the body of Christ,
(13:14):
the things that are sense, feeling, perception.
I perceive, I sense, I feel andsometimes, in our Western
Hemisphere, our worldview, ourcultural worldview especially
(13:35):
for those of us who live in theWestern Hemisphere of the world
take a more scientific approachto things and look at emotions
and feelings with kind of atongue in cheek attitude, more
like we don't really value themas highly as we value data hard
(13:56):
data.
We value that hard, raw factsbut as far as sensing and
feeling, those are suspect andoften we try to.
And for those of you who havebeen around for a while, you've
(14:16):
perhaps been to or read books onchild rearing right and myself
being a person involved inleadership in the church in the
evangelical world, there's ample, ample opportunity to get
(14:38):
information on parenting and alot of it's really good, but a
lot of it has within it thenotion that we need to be really
observant on what's going on inthe lives of our children, and
I agree, couldn't agree more.
We need to know what's going on.
(14:58):
However, there seems to be anundercurrent of this, not
necessarily stated, but it seemsto creep through.
An undercurrent kind of creepsthrough, and that's this you
know, you got to catch themdoing something.
You catch them doing it wrong.
You got to catch them doing itwrong.
You got to catch them doing itwrong.
You got to catch them doing itwrong.
(15:19):
You got to catch them doing itwrong.
And it straightens out andagain I agree, we need to be
able to see things that areplainly wrong and call them out
and address things on a varietyof levels.
Concerning that whole issue ofwhat is truth and what is
(15:42):
untruth it's a lie but also weneed to be capable of catching
people doing something right, like our children.
Growing up, I made it a pointto periodically catch one, or
(16:13):
maybe sometimes all of my threesons doing something right.
I'd catch, I'd see them doingsomething that was really good
and I'd go aha ha ha ha, caughtyou.
They'd be like what, what Isaid?
I saw you washing that dish, man, I caught you doing
(16:35):
something right and I'd say here, here's five bucks, just
because Now, not every time youwash your dishes you're going to
get five bucks, but this time, man, I caught you doing
something right.
And you know what?
Having an environment in whichwe catch people doing something
right is an environment in whichwe are free to express things
(16:58):
that are new to us Because wemight be getting it wrong, and
there's a fear of getting thingswrong, versus being in an
environment in which it'sunderstood that we're going to
make mistakes and we have peoplethat are lovingly capable of
(17:19):
correcting those mistakes.
And the mistakes that I'mtalking about for those of us
who have a prophetic flair toour life or the potential for
(17:39):
being misunderstood is found inthe things that we sense, things
that we feel, things that wesee in the Spirit and things
that we hear being spoken in theSpirit by God, being spoken in
the spirit by God.
Not everyone sees things, senses things and hears things
(18:07):
as clearly as you do, and thereare these things that are coming
into view right now.
Right now, there's unfoldingmore and more and more of and
(18:27):
unfolding concerning this wholeaspect of open areas or portals,
where there is places ofspiritual interaction,
interaction from the spiritualworld into the physical world.
(18:48):
And I'm not talking aboutnecromancy, I'm not talking
about witchcraft, I'm talkingabout true kingdom of God
portals, jesus himself being theultimate expression of that
when he said I, I, I.
(19:09):
No one else comes to the Fatherexcept through me, I, I am the
way, the truth, like I'm thedoor, I'm the portal, I me.
You want to know the clean way.
Get to know me.
You want to know more aboutfunctioning in the aspect of the
(19:32):
keys of the kingdom, theportals of the kingdom, the
places where there's interactiongoing on in the spiritual world
between the natural and thespiritual.
Know me, get to know me, becomemore and more intimate with me
(19:53):
because I am the way.
There are many voices, butJesus said my sheep hear my
voice, they know my voice, mypeople recognize me because we
know each other.
(20:13):
We have relationship with eachother.
We have a relationship witheach other, getting to know
Jesus.
For those of you who are in aplace where you are sensing,
seeing and feeling that God isshowing you portals in which
activity is taking place, andyou want to know what to do
(20:36):
about those things that you'resensing and you're seeing, and
you want to know what to doabout those things that you're
sensing and you're seeing andyou're feeling, my encouragement
right now is to take those verythings that you're sensing,
seeing and feeling and bringthem to Jesus.
Bring them to Jesus and expressto him exactly what it is that
(21:03):
you are sensing, seeing andfeeling, and ask him what it is
that he wants you to do aboutthat and don't do anything until
he tells you specifically whatit is that he wants you to do.
He's using these things to drawyou close to him the sense, the
(21:28):
feeling, the perception, thenotion that there's activity
going on in the spiritual world.
You've said it, you'reprophetic, you can feel these
things, but they might not beclear.
He wants to make them clear andhe will do that.
But there's a timing element toit and he's preparing people
(21:51):
across the nations right now tobe able to function within the
construct of these keys, theseportals, these places in which
activity has been going on forcenturies.
(22:15):
Caesaree, philippi, is one ofthem.
In the Middle East, a portal, ahigh place.
There are places that have beenused throughout history and are
still marked for areas andplaces in which there is
(22:35):
spiritual activity going on.
There are pieces of propertythat have that.
They have a specific purposefor it to be in existence and
it's God's purpose and he'sgoing to see it fulfilled.
Whether you're part of it ornot is being determined by you,
(22:58):
not by God.
He already determined it.
We're just being positionedright now and being drawn into
relationship with Jesus.
If you sense that you have aprophetic call and you are
(23:18):
seeing different thingsregarding portals, spiritual
energy centers, things of thatnature that take place, now is
not the time to start bringingthat information over to your
small group and leave it openfor discussion.
(23:39):
If you're living in, let's say,for the majority of you living
in the Western part ofcivilization, you need to bring
these things to Jesus more.
We need more of him, more ofJesus.
(24:00):
They're too vague.
The things that will be broughtforward will sound like they're
part of the old New Agemovement, that thing where
there's witchcraft and there's alot of other various nuances of
spiritual life, none of whichinvolves Jesus, but they all
(24:27):
express some sort of access intothe spiritual world, all
underneath the label of the NewAge movement.
Well, they use terminology likeoracles, energy.
They use a lot of terminology.
That's very actually, it'sdescript, it's very good.
(24:49):
They're the ones who stole it.
They're not the ones who areoriginating it.
They stole it.
This actually belongs to thebody of Christ.
These things belong to access.
Points like this belong to thebody of Christ, and prophetic
people are the ones who aredesigned by God to point them
(25:12):
out and to express the seasonsin which they become operative,
the functionality and thedynamics that go along with this
particular aspect of kingdomliving.
It falls underneath thecategory of the prophetic
ministry.
Powerful, it's beautiful.
It's wonderful us beingequipped to be complete, whole,
(25:32):
fully rounded members of thebody of Christ, citizens of the
kingdom of God that are mature, that can function on every level
that is available through us.
Rounded members of the body ofChrist, citizens of the kingdom
of God that are mature, that canfunction on every level that is
available to us.
However, if we get ahead ofourselves, we start to sound
kooky.
We start to sound very bizarreand strange because it isn't
(25:57):
done yet.
Bizarre and strange because itisn't done yet.
It's like taking the cake outof the oven and it's still gooey
and runny and not tasty in themiddle, but we bring it out and
we say it's done and, man, youleave a wrong impression.
(26:18):
It's what that cake is reallyall about If you take it out too
soon.
Well, same thing goes withprophetic ministry If we take
things out and bring them up forpublic display too quickly,
before the revelation has beenmarinated in the presence of God
(26:39):
, as it were, and we are matureenough to be able to both
receive and to distribute whatit is that God is saying to us
and through us, then we need tobe more grounded in him and in
relationship with him and in hispresence and learn about what
(26:59):
it is that he has to say, considering these portals,
because he has something to sayabout them.
He did to his disciples when hesaid the gates of Hades, meaning
these portals that are righthere at Caesarea, philippi,
these places, they will notprevail against what I'm doing.
These places, they will notprevail against what I'm doing.
In fact, I'm publicly making adeclaration here today.
(27:22):
And he laid down the gauntletand he said that confession,
peter, that came out of yourmouth.
Upon that, upon that confession, I'm going to build my church
on that rock.
On that statement that came out, I am going to build my church
in the gates of Hades, theportals of hell, the very place
(27:47):
in which people would come tointeract with demonic powers.
Was the very place that Jesussaid I'll start building right
here and I will prevail.
And he's still doing it.
But it was Jesus who was ableto say it was time for that
(28:08):
place to experience therevelation of God.
And it was shortly thereafterthat the transformation, the
Mount of Transfiguration, tookplace and Jesus transformed in
front of James, peter and John, with Moses and Elijah present.
It was a portal.
Those were portals.
(28:29):
Those were places, high places, places designed where there's a
lot of spiritual activity anddesigned to be places where we
would interact with God, withheaven and earth.
We have them all over the place.
They're there for a purpose.
They're there for a reason, notjust so that we can be
mysterious people that havemysterious knowledge that's
(28:51):
quite insightful and good forparlor talk and good for parlor
talk but really people that canfunction as a result of
relationship with Jesus, thecentrality of the cross and what
(29:12):
transpires as a result of liveswho are infused with his and
ours in his.
That life is growing in dynamicacross the nations and those
listening to this today are partof it.
(29:34):
Some you are the moreconservative.
Be patient with those who are abit more sensitive.
God is seeing to it that thingsthat need to be in the oven a
(29:57):
little bit longer are going tobe there, but there is a
revelation that's sweeping thenations concerning the
functionality of the portals ofGod and the position of the
believer concerning them, andwe'll be looking at that down
the road, but it was importantto bring it up today so that you
(30:17):
can pray about this and seewhat it is that God is saying to
you concerning your purposeinvolving the portals of the
(30:37):
kingdom of God.
Let's pray, father.
Thank you that you have thesethings in mind, because we would
be thinking about a variety ofother things, thank you.
Thank you that the purpose thatyou have in mind is something
(31:06):
you keep focused on and youbring us back into focus.
Holy Spirit, continue to guideus, lead us, please, and I thank
you for it, for showing usJesus and drawing us deeper into
him, to be more and more likehim, and we stand here in his
(31:28):
name and we declare to be so andwe say amen, amen, amen, amen.
All right, folks, I love you.
