(00:45):
I want to talk about the powerof guidance, why hiring a

role of business coaching andexplore why entrepreneurs should
consider hiring a businesscoach to accelerate their growth
and achieve their goals, frompersonalized guidance to
accountability and strategicinsight.

with a business coach.
This episode will shed light onhow business coaching can

(01:06):
unlock your future and fullpotential and propel your
business to new heights.
Okay, so let's dig in.
Let's talk about what is abusiness coach.
So I believe and this is first, let me just say I am a business
coach.
I obviously have this podcastand it's one outlet for me, but
I also own Faith-Filled Coaching, and the reason I call it

(01:28):
Faith-Filled Coaching is becauseI am a believer and in my small
business coaching I do lifecoaching as well, but small
business is really my passion.
Those two kind of play together, though, because life is
business and business is life.
Right, you're going to have, you know, times that you're
struggling in your life orthings are happening with your

(01:49):
kids or your schedule, and likeit all intertwines with each
other.
And so the faith-filledcoaching is because, as a
believer, and if you coach withme, we're going to have moments
where we talk about God, and soif you don't like that, I'm
probably not the coach for you.
Now I'm not saying it has to betalked about, but God has just
done so much for me, and there'stimes I want to help you remind
you that, like you need faithand you got to believe in your
faith and you got to standstrong, and so I bring that into

(02:11):
my coaching because it's such ahuge part of my life and my
businesses.
And so, you know, I've foundthat I've been through coaching
programs.
I did Conquer when I was withthe window cleaning company.
I've done Dave Ramsey'scoaching.
I've went to Summit with DaveRamsey multiple times.
Um, I'm always reading growthbooks and business books and I'm

(02:32):
listening to podcasts.
Podcasts are harder for mebecause I'm so busy and you have
to sit and be quiet and listen.
I don't know I that's a littlebit tougher, but I do do it.
I obviously went to.
Um, I am licensed or notlicensed.
I obviously went to.
I am licensed or not licensed.
I am certified as a mastercoach and so we learned a lot

(02:52):
about coaching and how to getthings out of people.
And the business side is easyfor me because I've owned so
many businesses.
You know.
I've owned a trucking company,I've owned a furniture company,
I own a window cleaning company,I have a shed building business
.
We manufacture and retail sheds.
I do bookkeeping for clients.
I have this podcast, obviously.
I do phone dispatch for certaincompanies that I enjoy working

(03:17):
with.
So I do a lot of differentthings and I've got a lot of
experience.
I've worked for offices mywhole life or other people.
I did bookkeeping for otherpeople and so I've got a lot of
experience in all of this.
I've built businesses fromnothing.
I've, you know, boughtbusinesses.
I've done kind of all of it,and so the only thing I haven't
done is like corporate.
So I'm not a corporate coach.
I don't know anything about thecorporate world.

(03:37):
That is not for me, it's alittle too big for me.
But small business, I would say, from starting out, I can help
you with that all the way up toseveral million dollars.
I mean, my own company averagesabout 1.3 million in sales.
We're growing all the time andso you know, I kind of fit in
that realm really well, I think, and a lot of it's mindset and
belief and systems andprocedures and that stuff that

(04:00):
not everybody's familiar with.
Budgeting, you know all that.
So that's kind of what I offerto you and I can work through
Zoom.
I can have you come into mycoaching studio and we can work
there.
I can come to your business.
Obviously, if you're out ofstate there's going to be some
costs with that, but sometimesjust doing a Zoom or a phone
call can be enough to getthrough that.
There's definitely lots ofoptions.
We can do a phone call andhammer out some problems.

(04:22):
You know my coaching.
I have clients who sign on forthree to six months at a time.
I have coaching clients that, like you know, we've only worked
together a month, or they havea problem that they just got to
sort out and that takes a fewsessions and then we don't work
together for a while.
They kind of come back asthere's issues.
It just depends on where youare and how much work you need
to do to help sort out thebusiness.
And so, basically, a businesscoach works collaboratively with

(04:48):
an entrepreneur so me with youto strategically develop and
grow a successful business.
A business coach is there tohelp guide you towards clarity
on your bigger vision andsupport you in aligning with
that vision by helping createactual steps to reach those
goals.
Now, sometimes it can be assimple as, like you've got some
self-limiting beliefs that Ineed to get brought out and we
need to discuss those.
You know, coaching is nottherapy, especially with life

(05:11):
coaching.
We don't go into the past, wego into the current, the present
, and we deal with that stuffright.
We don't talk about when youwere a kid.
Now there may be, like, someself-limiting beliefs from that,
but, like there's, we don't diginto all that stuff we just go
with, especially in business.
It's like, well, maybe, maybeyou're not a good communicator
from your past, that's fine, buthow do we work on it today to

(05:31):
change that?
So there's different things outthere.
There's a coach, there'sconsultants and there's mentors.
Now, let's kind of just breakthat down.
So, if you're not sure andagain I would love to work with
you, but there's tons of coachesout there and there's there's
people.
I mean I've listened to coacheswho charge a hundred thousand
dollars a session.
That's, that's kind of a lot.

(05:52):
Uh, I typically am, dependingon what we're doing.
Uh, consulting, about 150 anhour for local consulting.
If I have to travel, that'sgoing to be figured in.
Um, I also do coaching.
That is around $100 an hourtypically and I try to make it
realistic and affordable forsmall businesses because I

(06:13):
understand, you know, grantCardone is amazing, he's rich,
he's got tons of property, he'sfantastic, but he's $100,000 a
session.
Well, that's like not realisticfor most people.
And so I never said I knoweverything, I don't know
everything.
There are some things I neversaid I know everything, I don't
know everything.
There's some things I don'tknow.
And if I don't know, we'll doresearch, I'll see if I can
connect you with someone whoknows.
But back to my original was thedifferent things.
So coaching, basically we offerguidance and advice, but we

(06:36):
leave space for you to find yourown answers.
Right Now in business coaching,we're going to kind of work
together to do that in my space.
You're going to kind of worktogether to do that in my space.
You're going to usually come tome or on the phone, but I kind
of leave it open so it's notjust like do this, do this, do
that right, because there's somethings I want you to learn, I
want you to figure out how to do, or maybe it's something that
we see that you need to hire outfor, or something like that.

(07:01):
Consulting is where you provideexpertise in a certain area and
so starting the business, growing a business of your size,
putting systems and proceduresin place that's something I can
help you with.
Again, growing you to $20million I've never done that, so
that's not going to work for me.
I don't do tons of consulting.
I kind of sometimes mixcoaching and consulting together
.
I have a client here locallyit's a franchise that I work
with and I go up and I do someconsulting with them where I

(07:23):
actually go to their business.
We dig into stuff, we work oncreating systems together.
Now I don't like to do it whereit's just straight me putting
stuff in place because it's yourbusiness and you have to want
to do it, you have to buy intoit, because I could put all
these systems in and if youdon't follow any of them, I
leave and it doesn't change.
And so I try to really getbuy-in from you to help create
it and then get you in themindset of, like, this is what I

(07:44):
have to do.
Okay, so you start tounderstand that.
So then, when I'm not there, you can create your own systems,
your own procedures.
And then there's mentoring andthat's more focusing on the
development of the individual.
Usually mentors work for free,I would say.
They spend time with you, youknow, once a month or once a
week or whatever, and you'rekind of digging into you as a
person more.

(08:04):
You know once a month or once aweek or whatever, and you're
kind of digging into you as aperson more.
You know, maybe somewhatdirected.
I don't do a lot of mentorship,I don't.
I guess it's never really comeup for me Because I don't
character development that kindof stuff is.
I'm not saying I can't do it, Iguess I just haven't had the
opportunity to do it so much.
Maybe I do that some in myfriendships, I don't know.

(08:26):
But I focus more on coaching, some consulting.
The number one benefit is youget personalized guidance and
support.
So the greatest aspect of abusiness coach is that they
provide personalized guidancecustomized to the unique needs
and goals of you and yourbusiness.
So what does that mean?
So let me just give you a quickoutlook here.
So if you call me for businesscoaching, first phone call other

(08:46):
than maybe like okay, let'sthank you for calling, let's set
up a time.
We do kind of a consultation, ifyou will, and I try to get you
in person or on the phone, whatever, and I kind of want to
get to know a little bit aboutyou and you can get to know me a
little bit, because somepersonalities do not work.
Now I would hope if you'rereally wanting to change and try
things, you're going to be moreopen.
But if I can tell like yourpersonality does not work with

(09:09):
mine, we're not going to be agood fit and I'm not here to
just take your money.
I have other things to do.
So if we're a good fit, though, and I can see that you have a
real passion and desire for yourbusiness, I will work with you
all day, and I'm excited to workwith you.
I love growing business.
If you come into me and you'relike I just want you to do
everything, that's not reallyinteresting to me because you're
not taking any buy-in,especially as a small business.

(09:30):
You have to do that at thisstage, and so that's probably
not the fit for me either.
Um, and if you have thismindset of like I know
everything and you're just goingto try to help push me to know
everything, that's not going towork either, because that's I
don't like that personality.
I want someone who's open, willing, willing to change,
willing to try things, willingto open up, like all of that.

(09:51):
That's what I'm looking for,because I don't just take every
client.
There's some I don't want towork with and there's some that
I just don't find.
Maybe we start and I can tell, like you're just you're not
putting an effort in, you're notreally growing, or maybe you're
not in a place where you can,and I don't want to just take
your money.
So then I'll, you know I'll sayit's not working out.
Maybe you should try somethingdifferent.
Maybe you should, you know, dowhatever Now.
I will work with you for awhile before I say that.

(10:13):
But I'm just not here to justtake to run and I want to invest
in you and your business.
That's what I'm looking for, okay, so what that then looks
like is I then will usually come, we'll sit down, we'll have
some conversations.
It's good for me to, if I can, spend some time in your business

(10:35):
, if it's local or available forme to do so.
I can kind of.
Until you get in a business andyou look at it and you see the
people interacting, you startlooking at the systems and how
things are run.
It's hard to look at a businessfrom the outside and know like,
yep, these are all the problems.
You have to almost get in therea little bit right and see,
like, what's happening.
I picture it like a mechanic.
You can tell them the car'smaking the sound, but until they

(10:56):
drive it or openly, you know, get the hood open and start
looking at stuff they don't.
They probably don't know what'sgoing on.
Maybe they have to attach ascanner to it or whatever.
So that's kind of me on thescanner.
I come in and I'm watching andyou know it takes me a little
bit that's kind of where theconsulting comes in a little bit
, because I'm like I need to seewhat is going on.
Now, if you're just coming tome, I need I can see you in, you
know, real life, like treatingyour people the way you do or

(11:27):
talking to them or flipping outor whatever.
Then I get a feel of like thisis really what's going on.
It's not surface.
I want to get off the surface, because surface nothing changes
on the surface.
Right, it's the stuff belowthat you got to work through.
And then you know, through someof that we can start to meet
and we'll have meetings andwe'll talk about it and then we

(11:47):
get a plan of like these are thethings that are icy happening.
You may or may not agree andmaybe you don't want to work on
those things, but if you do,then we can sit down and make an
action plan to start fixingthese things.
I mean, there's a company I workwith, I sat down with their are
and some things can be changed, and so these people, we sat
back down and they were graciousand humble and they were like
we want to fix these things, wewant a great place to work, and

(12:08):
so that, to me, is invaluable, because you're getting insights
from people that are sometimesscared to tell you because
you're the boss and they don'twant to tell you that.
And so someone like me comingin is really great for that.
Because some people are soburned out.
They've built these greatcompanies but they're just, they
don't.
They don't even love it, theydon't want to do it, they don't
know what they're doing, they'restruggling, they're just sick

(12:28):
of the company, and it's likethese things can be turned
around right, maybe we turn itaround and you sell it.
If you're that burned out, maybe we turn it around and
someone else wants to buy it.
Or maybe you just need to hiremore.
A lot of times I see that I'mlike you guys are so overloaded.
You need to hire some peopleand then show them how hiring
can relieve them to eitherbecome, you know, better

(12:50):
salespeople or grow theircompany or find more of what
they're passionate about, orwhatever.
So that's kind of how it workson the coaching side.
Now, the benefits other thanwhat I just said is you have a
trusted advisor who understandsyour business.
You have someone that's not outit's not your friend telling
you advice, because they're noteven business owners, right,
they're not someone that's goingto go spread your business

(13:11):
around town.
They're someone that, like wesign you know contract
confidential agreements so thatway everything is safe.
And then someone like me comesin and we find the blind spots
Because you get lost in theweeds.
Right, you're so knee-deep instress and jobs and problems and
money and you just can't evensee other than just surviving.

(13:32):
I don't want you guys tosurvive, I want you to thrive.
I mean, having a business isexciting because that glass
ceiling goes away.
It can be so much fun.
It can be so much fun to watchand grow, and it's financial
freedom and it's time.
Time is so invaluable.
You don't get it back.
And then we can unlock yourself-imposed limits, right, a
coach can thoughtfully guide youto see and process a
circumstance or feeling in a newway, in a different way.

(13:53):
Right, I can see the thingsthat you're limiting yourself on
that sometimes we don't evensee.
And then we can find ways.
And then when I see you doingit, I'm like you're doing it
again.
You're eliminating yourself, you're not allowing yourself to
open your mind up to that oryou're playing small.
And then the other thing that'sreally valuable is we hold you
accountable.
I can't make you do anything.
I don't want to make you do it,but I can help you face those

(14:14):
things that often feel scary inbusiness.
Right, and with my help, sometimes you realize like this
isn't so scary, this canactually be fixed and done, and
these are things that are reallydoable.
The other thing is number twowould be accountability and goal
setting.
So, business owners, it can beeasy to put things off,

(14:34):
especially the things thatchallenge us and force us out of
our comfort zone.
And if you can't just hiresomeone to do it and you have to
still do it a coach like me isgreat because I can in there and
help make it, break it down andmake it not so scary.
Or by forcing yourself to sitwith me once a week or whatever
it is, you work on your business.
In that hour you get somethingdone.
It's not like you just comehere we talk about and you have

(14:55):
to go back and do all thishomework.
Well, sometimes there'shomework, but the faster you
just get it done, it's off yourlist and you can focus on other
things, and then I usually checkin with you on a regular basis,
which helps you to stick tosomething, helps you to get
things achieved and done, andthen I can, you know, support
you along the way.
I can celebrate with you as youachieve these things, I can

(15:16):
encourage you and then, this way, you're getting your
follow-through, you're growing,you're expanding that business
and, with the support of a coach, it's easier to set and achieve
goals.
I help you brainstorm ideas.
We'll help find creativesolutions to challenge.
You know the idea or the beliefor the problem, which is super
helpful as well as helping youto create.
You know actionable steps toexecute to the vision that

(15:38):
you're wanting right.
Sometimes, if you don't have abusiness partner and your wife
is sick of hearing about it,there's no one to talk to about
what your business is trying todo.
And sometimes some of thisstuff you can't talk to your
employees about because theydon't.
Maybe it's something theyshouldn't know about, or maybe
it's something that's not quiteready to be presented to them,
but you need to bounce the ideaoff someone.
So strategic planning andproblem solving comes up.

(15:58):
We can help you leverage yourability to overcome setbacks or
challenges.
Well, you know me, or the rightcoach will help you evaluate
and apply the skills necessaryto navigate challenges because
we have lived the experience.
I would not want to do businesscoaching with someone that's
never run a business because Idon't believe they can have some

(16:18):
general ideas.
But I always say until you'vebeen in the trenches, until you
have to make payroll and youhave no money, you don't know
what that's like.
You don't even know what that'slike, trust me.
So, due to the livedexperiences that I have had or
these business coaches have had,we can help you navigate a
strategic and well-thought-outplan to achieve the you know,
the vision, the dreams for yourlife and your business.

(16:41):
The fourth benefit is buildingconfidence and self-awareness.
So, according to this was anarticle in entrepreneurcom says.
According to a study by theInternational Coaching
Federation, the ICF, which isactually where I was originally
coached, that's where mycertification comes from 80% of
people who receive coachingreported increased
self-confidence and 70% sawimprovements in work performance

(17:04):
, relationships andcommunication skills.
So a coach can help you enhanceyour self-awareness by guiding
you through reflective practicesand targeted questions.
Processing something out loudwith a coach can really help you
see an aspect of yourself or asituation that maybe you
couldn't see on your own.
The fifth thing is skilldevelopment and growth.
A business coach can help youdevelop the essential skills

(17:26):
needed to run a successfulbusiness.
If you're just starting yourown business, you don't know
what you don't know right.
So having someone to help youhone in on those skills and
acknowledge you need to succeedcan help you not just grow your
business, but kind of grow it tobe a profitable one, an
enjoyable business, but kind ofgrow it to be a profitable one,
an enjoyable business right.
Number six objective feedbackand perspective.

(17:47):
Receiving honest and objectivefeedback from a business coach
can be invaluable.
Constructive feedback itdefinitely helps you to identify
areas for improvement whichallow you to develop new skills
and enhance your performance.
Positive feedback andreinforces your strengths, boost
your confidence so you can be.
You can basically make morepositive and strategic risks,

(18:08):
because sometimes we're tooscared to make that move and
maybe a business coach can kindof help you walk it through to
see that maybe it's reallysomething that would help you.
And then they give you honestfeedback.
It fosters self-awareness,leads to personal and
professional growth as you learnto adapt and evolve, because
sometimes even your friendsdon't always give you full,
honest feedback because theydon't want to hurt your feelings
and, as a coach, it's not aboutlike destroying you, but it's

(18:30):
like I see this is happeningconsistently and we need to
change that because of why,right?
Sometimes, the ones around youthat love you the most.
They protect you almost, andit's not always good, because a
coach's objective feedback canbe a catalyst for significant
growth and success, helping youto make informed decisions and

(18:55):
reach your potential.
Number seven work-life balanceand well-being.
Man, if you listen to mypodcast, you know I died on that
one.
A business coach can helpentrepreneurs achieve better
work-life balance and overallwell-being.
So how Well?
Prioritization.
So we, as coaches, can assistin identifying what really
matters, guiding you toprioritize those tasks to align
with your values and yourlong-term vision.

(19:16):
Time management I see this allthe time People don't manage
their time well.
Coaches provide tools andtechniques for effective time
management, helping you allocatetime for work, family and
self-care.
Reducing stress by encouragingmindfulness and stress
management techniques.
Coaches help you developstrategies to cope with the
pressure of entrepreneurship, and that's something you know.

(19:40):
If your friends aren't inbusiness, which most people
don't have other business ownersthat are friends.
They just don't know becausethey work eight to five and they
leave.
Well, my job never ends.
I still have to think about itat night, on weekends.
You know money and growth andall this stuff, and so by
talking to another businessowner, especially a coach, we're
investing in you to grow right.
It's not just there's twobusiness owners getting together

(20:02):
to have coffee to complain.
I am here to help you grow.
I am here to help you find thepathway to success right.
Boundary setting A coach cansupport you in establishing
healthy boundaries between workand personal life, preventing
the burnout, ensuring time forrelaxation of hobbies which was
the very thing I didn't do, andso I am like an expert in this.
Now I am not doing that anymore.

(20:22):
Long-term vision they help youcreate a substantial plan that
incorporate both businessaspirations and personal
happiness, ensuring that youthrive in all areas of your life
.
Number eight maximizingefficiency and effectiveness.
A business coach can help youimplement systems, processes and
best practices to improvebusiness efficiency and
effectiveness.
Customize frameworks so coachescan develop tailored frameworks

(20:45):
and processes that fit yourunique business model, guiding
you in establishing systems thatstreamline operations.
Again, every business is alittle different.
One system for my businessmaybe has to be tweaked some for
your business because yoursworks a little different or you
use different programs orsystems.
That's kind of the beauty weget in there and kind of help
you figure out what's going on,how can we change this.

(21:06):
And then we work with you sothat way it's not just thrown at
you Best practices.
They meaning the coachesintroduce industry best
practices and proven mythologies, equipping you with tools that
have been effective in similarcontexts.
Training development we can setup training sessions for your
team, ensuring that everyoneunderstands new processes and

(21:28):
it's equipped to implement themeffectively.
Technology integration wesometimes have knowledge of
tools or software that couldautomate your task, enhance
communication and improveproject management.
Guiding you through theselection and implementation of
these technologies.
Sometimes we just need to pushyou to buy it.
People are so cheap they don'twant to buy the program and I'm
like do you know what that'sgoing to do to change your life

(21:48):
if you do your businessnetworking?
Sometimes we have extensivenetworks that can connect you
with valuable connections thatcan further help your business.
Marketing.
Roi and success we can talk toyou about measuring your return
on investment, which is roi forbusiness coaching in terms of
business growth, increasedrevenue, personal development,

(22:10):
calculating costs.
We can talk about the totalcost of the coaching, the fees,
the time invested, any otherresources needed.
And then we can look at likebut if we coach and we get you,
you know, you systematize andyour processes are faster and
you're not losing moneyeverywhere, that will first off
pay for the coaching and it'llpay for the growth that you're
going to have in your business.
We can help track thoseprogresses and help kind of get

(22:33):
