I used to be really scared of my emotions. I let them control me, my mind, and my whole life. I would act out on my main emotions, which were anger and sadness, and do or say things that I'd then regret. that's why I started numbing myself by drinking alcohol at a really young age. I didn't want to feel anything. I suppressed my emotions for so many years, eventually through other substances because alcohol wasn't enough, that once I quit the substances, anxiety hit me. I even went into a depression. it was past feelings, present feelings, even feelings about the future that were hitting me all at once and I didn't know what to do with them. when I started healing myself, I learned to process all my emotions and let them go. I was able to gain control of my emotions instead of letting them control me. my emotions have taught me so much about myself and about my past. embrace your emotions, don't be afraid of them.
