This academic paper presents a systematic review and meta-analysis examining the effects of foam rolling, a self-massage technique, on athletic performance and recovery. The authors analyzed twenty-one peer-reviewed studies to evaluate how foam rolling, applied either before exercise (pre-rolling) or after exercise (post-rolling), influences measures such as sprint, jump, and strength performance, flexibility, and muscle pain.
