Speaker 1 (00:00):
Buddy you are tapped into the listening ears podcast
with your host, meet Verne Bairlately.
I've been thinking about thisword intentionality.
What is intentionality for me?

(00:23):
Intentionality is beingintentional with my thoughts,
actions and words.
I've had the power to shape mylife into what I wanted to
become.
And this power has helped me tocreate a sense of clarity.

(00:51):
So it's pretty much me saying, this is what I want to happen.
And this is the course that I'mgoing to take in order for it to
happen, whether it be through mythoughts or my actions or my
words, when you live withintention, it means that you are

(01:20):
constantly communicating withyourself.
You're wondering if what you'redoing is working and if it's not
why, and then making smalladjustments every day in order
for you to live the life thatyou love being intentional or

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Moving

Speaker 1 (01:49):
In purpose allows you to feel accomplished.
It helps you to understand thebigger picture and also
understand how interconnectedand fragile our life is.

(02:20):
Intentionality in our focusensures that every task we are
doing in some way, shape or formis forum is related to a
particular end goal, right?
So in a way, it creates a senseof tunnel vision and helps us

(02:46):
into working and spending timeon the things that matter the
most to us, it creates a senseof confidence.
We're making choices anddecisions on what's important to
us, and it feels good.

(03:09):
It feels, it feels alright.
Being more intentional with mytime and energy has helped me to
spend less time doing things Idon't enjoy and more time doing
things.
I do enjoy that align to mybigger future picture as well as

(03:36):
my family's collective goals.
So instead of sitting back andsaying, well, this is life, and
this is the hand that I've beengiven and allowing things to
happen, right?

(03:57):
To happen to me passively, I canbecome an active participant and
set my sights on a particulargoal or endpoint end point and
do the things to Make it happenevery day.

(04:25):
Living with intentionalitydoesn't in any way, shape or
form mean that my life isperfect because I can vouch for
myself and say that it isn't.
But what I have been able toappreciate and really love is

(04:49):
the fact that my life ispurposeful and it's focused on
the things that make me happyand the things that I want to do
that are aligned to my end goal.

(05:09):
And I focus on the word, my it'salmost as if it's idolized,
because when you're living andbeing intention or living with
intentionality, you are livingwith your goals and your end

(05:33):
game in mind.
Some simple ways that I havebegun to practice intentionality
are by practicing gratitude eachand every day, by defining my
life's purpose and askingmyself, what is it, do I want

(05:54):
out of life identifying andsetting goals and really making
sure that these goals that I'veset are manageable and
reachable.
So in a sense of smart goal,I've become more self-aware,

(06:17):
I've acted myself a thousandtimes.
Why am I doing this?
Or how was this working for me?
I've created daily routines andhabits, such as Lots of journal
writing, being reflective, exercising, taking some time to

(06:37):
meditate, practicing positiveself talk.
And most importantly, for meprotecting my peace and being
aware of what I am consuming orwhat I'm letting consume me.

(07:05):
So for me, knowing that life isever changing and I can only
control my thoughts and myactions helps me stay in a place
of intentionality and focus.
I am lately willing andready to adjust and reflect

(07:32):
based on new information orchanging conditions because I am
focused on my end goal.
What are your thoughts?
What are your thoughts onintentions?
Do you move in or withintentionality and how is it

(07:59):
working for you?
