Dr. Jim Polakof and Jonathan Reisman M.D. explore the human body like never before and talk about Dr. Reisman's book The Unseen Body. This is truly an episode you do not want to miss.
Jonathan Reisman M.D. is an internist, pediatrician and ER physician and author of The Unseen Body. He's a naturalist, adventure traveler, forager, foodie and teacher of wilderness survival and prehistoric crafts, and his offbeat medical writing combines all of these passions. He has practiced medicine in some of the world's most remote places, including the Alaskan and Russian Arctic, Antarctica, the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal, rural Appalachia, in the urban slums of Kolkata, India, and among the Oglala Sioux in South Dakota. He is co-creator of the anatomy- and physiology-based dinner series Anatomy Eats. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, Slate, and Discover Magazine. He runs a non-profit called "World Health and Education Network" (also called "Calcutta Rescue USA") dedicated to improving healthcare and education for some of the world's poorest people.
